PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 12:38

It's time for another TTC#1 grads thread, with an ever increasing population of new arrivals, old hands and veterans we're moving thick and fast.

The first TTC#1 veterans are waddling their way into the third trimester this thread, with the promise of maternity leave to come, getting them through the day.

No subject is taboo, no TMI is too much, bump pictures, baby scans and photos of cute baby stuff are encouraged.

All are welcome so take your place on team blue, pink or vanilla for another TTC#1 grads thread!

Also I expand massively when I eat pasta or bread. Anyone else finding this? This is me at 22+4 and I'm feeling particularly big.

potato when will they tell you for definite? It's ridiculous how long you've had to wait

Planeteer · 07/06/2016 21:14

Miley sorry to hear about your auntie, what sad news for her and a really tough decision to stop trying. Flowers for her.

Totally with you on the insatiable appetite today. Finished a day of grazing with an enormous burger and fries (sorry Pancake) and now look
about 43 months pregnant!

Potato don't apologise, the worry about where you'll be with mini spud is going to be taking up so much brain space, it's totally understandable. Keep talking about it if it helps. Really hope you get an answer asap so you know the lie of the land soon. Did you have any joy with mortgage advisers today?

Bunch, Pip is seriously going to be the world's most stylish baby! Absolutely love all the monochrome stuff you've done for him, and that sleep suit is ace.

Pinklily1 · 07/06/2016 22:23

Bit of a hectic day so not had time to catch up on everything, but just wanted to say your bump is lovely Miley! Sorry to hear about your Auntie, that's awful.

Good luck for the scans tomorrow ladies!

leoniethelioness · 08/06/2016 06:31

Miley Such a neat bump! I look like a whale in comparison! The joys of being 5'0" and comfort eating...!

BunchOfBobs · 08/06/2016 06:40

Morning ladies.

Lovely bump Miley you're still in amazing shape. I'm in mourning for my old gym body.
Nothing wrong with a bit of black and white for either sex Wink

Thanks Planet I think I may be a bit obsessed with the monochrome theme Confused

Potato I'm in awe of your restraint. I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you both and every hope this can be sorted for you.

Hypnobirthing last night was amazing. So so relaxed despite being in a room with 10 other people I nearly fell asleep on a couple of occasions. I've also never been on the verge of tears quite so much. Two lovely birthing videos and then we were given verses to read to our babies whilst pregnant and I read two lines and couldn't go any further. They had me and DH on the verge of tears. I'm feeling really confident and excited about the birth. I can highly recommend it to anyone considering it.

Looks like we've missed out on the rain and thunder and the sun is out again after an overcast day yesterday. My marathon fabric cutting session has repaid me by my hips and back being in agony most of the night so don't think I'll be finishing that off today. I may sew a few of the smaller sizes though.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

PotatosMum · 08/06/2016 06:50

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

Miley that's a lovely bump Smile

sounds like you've made a good start on baby stuff. Having a list definitely helps though.
I've only got the expensive stuff left on mine Hmm

I should find out by Friday/Monday. If they don't believe us about the address I may attempt to call them myself and lay it on thick about our mortgage advisor making a mistake, can't hurt.
I've also got a second mortgage advisor looking for a different mortgage for me now so that if this all goes tits up we can get straight onto that.
I'm a bit worried that my seller will get skittish if we start from scratch though Sad

Bunch glad you enjoyed hypnobirthing even if it did make you cryWink sorry you're in pain today Sad feet up day.

Has anyone else had a call from the health visitor wanting to come round before the baby's born? I've got mine booked in for the second week in July... OH thinks it's the same one he had for his kids and that basically, she'll come round, ask questions and then preach to me about how I should breast feed Hmm err... Thank you but thanks to books and the Internet I'm perfectly capable of making my own mind up "sigh"

Midwife appointment today then that's it for the dr's for a couple of weeks (yay!)

I only have 2.5 weeks left at work... Cannot wait to finish, it's way too hot to be working right now!

Morning ladies

Potato, I'm also impressed by your self restraint in relation to the ex!

I've not heard anything about a health visitor calling round, but I know it does happen in this area as a girl at work had the same think. Took the morning off so she would be in and the health visitor didn't even show up!

Bunch, sorry to hear your in pain. Maybe stick to sewing? I'm assuming you use a machine and it's not all hand done?!

Just been to the gym and then off to my 28 week midwife appointment today. I'm a bit nervous about getting weighed Hmm

shelbTa · 08/06/2016 08:03

Morning ladies

Just checking in to say hi.

Lovely bump miley!

Pink - wow, as if you are still going to the gym in the evening!! Good luck at 28 weeker, I've got mine tomorrow.

After 24 hours of not doing much baby went mental for 24 hours.

X

PotatosMum · 08/06/2016 08:03

Pink oh god, is the weigh in on the 28 week appointment? Crap, that means I've got mine too... I'm pretty sure I weigh roughly the same as a small elephant!!!

Oh, I forgot, yesterday at the party I got a good deal of heckling from EWs dad and grandad, we get on ok so I'm sure it was very well meaning but it was things like. Haven't you had that yet? You want to go for a jog, jump up and down that's get it moving... I just smiled and laughed and gave them cheeky responses but I wanted to say I'm only 7 bloody months, piss off Confused men can be idiots Hmm

OP posts:
Laurenrl · 08/06/2016 08:09

Hope your pain subsides bunch and your hypnoborthkng class sounds lovely! I'll look into that fir sure!

Its not over til its over potato I have everything crossed for you!

Miley, lovely bump! I'm so sorry to hear about your auntie, I can't even imagine! 💔 I hope she is getting all the tlc she needs

Super proud to be a Londoner (northerner living in London) today. Have only used my baby on board badge a few times on the weekend and mostly been ignored Angry. Today I used it as was travelling over an hour a cross London and I had a seat given on all 3 trains/tubes.. So it must be tourists who are ignorant to pregnant women not Londoners (or I was just lucky today!) Wink

LisaTheSimpson · 08/06/2016 08:17

Nice one, Lauren! Glad people are paying attention to the badge. I tend to get seats when I want one, and partly I find having the badge makes it easier when I want to ask for one (which I don't mind doing), as people tend to give you a quick look up and down, as if to assess your need for the seat ....

Potato, well done for staying calm yesterday. Do men like that think it's a game or something, and if they've been through it once themselves (or should I say, if their wife/girlfriend has been through it themselves), they must know everything about every pregnancy and labour?Hmm

Obviously it's not all men, but I've also had a few who have had to make 'jokey', 'banter' comments.

Leonie - with short weeks and annual leave, it sounds like maternity leave isn't far off for you! Eek! How far along are you?

BunchOfBobs · 08/06/2016 09:01

Pink I only hand see embroidery or things like the patch. The trousers are all machine done. I just ruined myself sat on the floor for hours yesterday cutting out 11 pairs of trouser fabric. I still have 9 lots of waistband and cuffs to cut out but no way I can do that today.

I didn't get weighed at my 28 week appointment. And I've heard nothing here about health visitor house visits. I have my next appointment a week today so we'll see what that holds. I hope not more blood tests Sad

Sodasoda · 08/06/2016 09:16

Morning everyone.

I've just come back from a 2 hour driving lesson and I'm working from home for the day - feels like I've already done a days work! The good news is the instructor reckons I'm good to go now (I passed my test years ago but just haven't driven in ages) so watch out London!! Grin

Great bump miley and sorry to hear about your auntie.

Fab effort on all the sewing bunch! I'm very envious of creative people!

lauren / lisa - those badges are a life saver! Yesterday I realised I wasn't wearing mine (was on my jacket and was far too hot to wear it) but thankfully people gave me a seat anyway - I must look pregnant enough not to be a risk now! Wink

I've only ever been weighed at my booking in appointment and seeing as I'm seeing various doctors every 1-2 weeks it seems a bit odd?

I'm seeing the obs consultant (again) today so that'll be another 2 hour wait and an entire afternoon spent at the hospital. Still, I can take a book and it's probably preferable to being in the office!

Pinklily1 · 08/06/2016 09:48

Shelb, I could t drag myself to the gym after work - I get up early and go before work instead aa that's when I have the most energy.

Potato, maybe they don't weigh at all 28 week appointments. My midwife told me at the last one that they would weigh me again, and at the hospital tour on Monday they told us we should all be/have been weighed at 28 weeks. I'm a bit scared to get on the scales, and have just realised I've not work light clothes Hmm

Bunch, could you sit at a table to cut out? I'm not crafty at all so I've no idea whether that would make it easier or harder!

Pinklily1 · 08/06/2016 10:07

So they didn't weigh me after all!

BunchOfBobs · 08/06/2016 10:40

Woohoo pink nothing like being out on the scales in front of a stranger.

Sitting at a table doesn't work but I do have a cutting table I can stand at. I just chose not to yesterday because I'm an idiot. I will use it when cutting out the remaining fabric but my back hurts too much to be stood for long today.

I'm supposed to be making up the guest bed and cleaning the bathroom on the third floor in this heat ugh. It's solid stone walls and that makes for great heat retention. I don't think I can face it. My poor parents who have to sleep up there this weekend.

Mileymoocow · 08/06/2016 11:46

Thanks for the bump comments. I don't feel so enormous now!

Just been for a lot of length cut off my hair, after my 3 month battle with hyperemesis it was so dead and awful, so I'm feeling a little better about myself today apart from the 2 spots that have appeared on my chin

soda great to hear you're all ready to roll! Didn't take you long at all!

pink I'm in awe that you have enough energy to go to the gym in the morning. You must be superwoman!

PotatosMum · 08/06/2016 13:40

Lisa I think there's a certain age/class of men who can't tell the difference between a joke and being insulting/inappropriate. My grandad was the same.

Soda congrats on being told you're good to drive Smile
Good luck for the appointment. Hope they're running a bit closer to time today!

Bunch I'm sure your parents will forgive you.

So, apparently we'll hear back about the mortgage today. I've spoken to a hand full of mortgage advisors and the ones who didn't just tell me no way they'll touch OH, said there are very few companies that might be able to help so if it's bad news today I think I will be going to the one you suggested Planet. They've offered to try to save my current application and if they can't either try a new company or get my current company to accept another application.
It looks like our options are very limited at this point.

OP posts:
LillianFullStop · 08/06/2016 14:17

miley that's a lovely neat bump!! Sorry to hear about your Auntie Sad

potato hang in there it sounds like there are still some options hoping it will come through for you and this stress can go away and you can focus on little potato

congrats on T3 pink! So excited for you T3ers!!

LillianFullStop · 08/06/2016 14:20

Hope the scan went well today lara - mine is on Friday and that vivid dreaming symptom has paid me a visit. I dreamt they took the baby out to check the gender and a little cuddle and put her back in. Obviously it's possible because she is still so tiny she can come out for the armpit and back - tiny like a baby turtle - at which point I found myself cuddling a baby turtle... ummmm 🐢 - so strange! But I did enjoy my little cuddle in my dream Smile

PotatosMum · 08/06/2016 14:33

Lol Lillian yep, welcome to the psychedelic dream phase Wink

Had my midwife appointment, no weigh in for me either Smile all is looking good, even my blood pressure was good which is amazing considering Hmm
I've now got to see the midwife every 2 to 3 weeks until Potato is born. I thought that was a lot more than they normally do but maybe I'm wrong.

I'm absolutely roasting again and can't stop checking my emails to see if we have an update yet.

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 08/06/2016 14:50

Potato I think that's standard. I saw midwife at 28 weeks then it's, 31, 34 and then every 2 weeks. Glad to hear your blood pressure is doing well despite the stress you're going through.
Everything crossed for you here X

Planeteer · 08/06/2016 14:58

Another one rooting for you potato. Options might be limited but at least there are options still. Glad the guys at the broker place were helpful. Everything crossed you hear back soon!!

Lillian that dream sounds epically weird, love it! What time's your scan on Friday?

Hope it's gone well today Lara Smile

Pancake has been kicking hard enough for me to feel with my hand today. Hoping DH will be able to feel tonight!

LaraG13 · 08/06/2016 15:05

20 week scan today and all looked well. Baby is spot on for size. And we're having a boy!! For some reason this has come as a shock to me, even though I didn't think I had expectations or a preference in either direction. Maybe it's just that it all seems scarily real now. Delighted though. I can't actually believe I'm going to be looking after a real life human baby boy!! Looking forward to hearing about your scans on Friday lillian and planet. I had a dream about a baby turtle a few weeks back. But I dropped and broke it and woke up crying!

bunch sorry you're suffering. I'm planning to try making some sleeping bags this week. Love seeing all the things you've made/dyed/altered.

Congrats on T3 pink and shelb!

miley your bump is lovely. I'm really sad to hear about your aunt. 💐

potato how gutting about the mortgage. Really hoping for some good news for you today, or if not then from another company. Still no offer on our house yet but have a second viewing this week so fingers crossed.

BunchOfBobs · 08/06/2016 15:25

Yay welcome to team blue Lara! Make sure you post photos of the sleeping bags.
My overlocker broke again today, making what should have been a really quick bit of sewing take a couple of hours Angry
