I'll eat your pizza bonkers, if you can't manage! Wink

I never been anxious leading up to scans with any of my other DC, I sm this time around & I just can't shake it Confused

Bigfam · 04/06/2016 19:57

*I've

TipBoov · 04/06/2016 20:20

bonkers I know what you mean! With DS1 we had loads of offers of hand me downs and stuff, but I wanted to buy everything new and choose it myself. It was so difficult to say no without being rude!

barkingtreefrog · 04/06/2016 21:28

I'm all for the hand me downs and knitted goods! My grandma has started knitting already, and my mate has offered me some maternity dresses. She had a little girl last year so I'm hoping she hasn't got rid of all the smallest clothes yet!!!
MiL has already insisted that she buys us a travel system. There's no maternity package at work so we're going to be on DH's salary plus smp so it's going to be tightening belts all round!
Should be fine, but we've never lived off one salary before so we'll just have to be careful.

DartmoorDoughnut · 04/06/2016 21:54

Had all of our best mates hand me down baby clothes for DS, once you're dealing with the poonamis you won't care what they're in as long as it isn't covered with poo/sick Grin he also had a bunch of new stuff but it all got mixed in together after the first few weeks. I hate home made knitted cardigans/jumpers, love homemade blankets and stuff like that but to wear I just think it's itchy and looks horrible, poor MIL made a bunch of stuff as soon as we told them and he never wore any of it Blush

bumbleclat · 04/06/2016 22:14

Hello all.. I've had my first day of taking the anti nausea tablets but DH persuaded me to go to a party with him tonight- I was so drowsy that I went off and laid down in a bell tent by the BBQ and slept for hours on end Blush
My friends who I haven't told yet were most concerned and others must've just thought was really drunk.
I'm now home and tucked up nice and drowsy with no nausea at all (why have I allowed myself to suffer all this time!?)
Anyone still dealing with nausea all day get down to the docs and take some antihistamine I can't tell you the relief! Xx

barkingtreefrog · 04/06/2016 22:23

Dartmoor depends very much on the wool. You can get some gorgeous baby bamboo which is amazingly soft and snuggly. Merino blend as well, just so cosy. 100% wool I'd never use to knit for a baby, way too itchy and scratchy.

firawla · 04/06/2016 22:41

Place marking on new thread, I'll have to read back and see how everyone's getting on. We just got back from our week in France, slightly tired but had a lovely week! And scan on tues - can't wait. Hope everyone is getting on okay

firawla · 04/06/2016 22:55

Just quickly read through the previous pages. errm I'm Muslim but don't think I will fast with this pregnancy. I did fast most of the month with ds1 and ds2 then with ds3 I stopped half way through when I got Gdd, so since I'm high risk for that again and midwife said don't, I'll feel more comfy not taking the risk. Although sorry for dh fasting alone as the dses are quite young and won't be fasting (eldest is 7 and wants to do some - we'll see how he gets on!)

Hope your fast goes smoothly, and that the weathers not too hot - always makes it hard when you're thirsty!

livelyredjellybean · 05/06/2016 07:21

Hello all!
Joining this thread as just signed up to MN. Pregnant with my first baby which is due 8th December,

Bigfam · 05/06/2016 07:36

bumbleclat which antihistamines were you prescribed just out of interest? I'm still feeling a bit sick, but after mentioning the other day my hayfever isn't too bad ATM, it seems to have decided to make an appearance!
Welcome and congrats Smile have you had Amy scans yet?

Dd3 decided to nap last night around 6pm, I was convinced she'd be gone for the night but she woke at 9pm and didn't go back to sleep til 1.30am so I'm completely knackered and meant to be cooking a huge roast today

Bigfam · 05/06/2016 07:37

livelyredjellybean sorry meant to add your name to the welcome

Grapefruit8 · 05/06/2016 08:59

Hello all, please can I join?!
Currently 11&4, got my scan this coming Thursday. Feeling very apprehensive as we had MMC in October. Already had my booking in appointment which was straightforward enough, just looking forward to being able to share the news with family and friends! Suffering terribly with nausea but only vomited on a couple of occasions. Sounds like some of you are having a real tough time, no idea how you're managing to cope with children at home- I'm finding it hard enough with a full time job let alone little ones at home

Bigfam · 05/06/2016 09:23

Welcome and congrats grapefruit8 . Sorry to hear of your loss in October Flowers hope you have a lovely healthy pregnancy.

It's a really beautiful day here, the sun always makes me feel better Smile

weechops · 05/06/2016 09:30

Welcome grapefruit8 and livelyredjellybean

The joy of SPD strikes again gah! I had it after around 30 weeks with my last baby, but it seems to have started since last night already! Just in my left hip but it's so twingey already. Going to get a gp appointment tomorrow and see if maybe a physio could help.

becciandbump · 05/06/2016 09:38

bigfam it's beautifully sunny in the lakes here too feel like I'm on a proper holiday albeit for two days im just about to go and devour a full English mmmmm

Having Sunday morning treat - bacon croissants here - yum!

Yay for more December babies - welcome livelyjellybean (great to see you found us and let us know if you do Pretty Muddy!) and Grapefruit08 (good luck for Thursday!).

Excuse my ignorance, but when does Ramadan start errrmmm & firawla?

LittleBear01 · 05/06/2016 10:05

Weechops, sorry to hear about the SPD. How would I know if I've got it? I'm a bit concerned as I've struggled to sleep on my side for long periods over the last few nights as it makes my hips ache. I've been fine during the day though. I've ordered a memory foam mattress topper and have a pregnancy pillow so really hoping that will help.

I'm trying my best to sleep on my left side but I'm naturally a front sleeper, so finding it uncomfortable. Does anyone have any advice on how to sleep comfortably?

Azure83 · 05/06/2016 10:24

littlebear have you tried a pregnancy pillow? I've not got one yet but they look really good! I always sleep on my back or right side, both for which will become less preferable very soon Hmm so I might get one then or use an extra pillow to keep me on my left side and not rolling back.
I have no experience of SPD but it sounds awful.

DartmoorDoughnut · 05/06/2016 11:01

Totally agree barking love some of the store bought knit wear but my MILs offerings were more ummm enthusiastic?! than nice, which obvs makes me very mean but hey ho!

Had a lie in this morning as DH took DS downstairs as soon as he woke, slept til 9, feel like a new woman!

weechops · 05/06/2016 11:45

littlebear I know SPD can vary in severity, right now for me it's a deep ache in my hip. Later on I remember feeling it sort of crunching when I walked, and opening my legs to do things like get out of bed or the car was total agony! I'm hoping it doesn't get that bad.

LittleBear01 · 05/06/2016 12:07

Thanks Weechops, that doesn't sound like what I'm experiencing, think mine's just pressure from laying on one side for too long. Sorry to hear you're suffering and hope it doesn't get worse.

I have got a pregnancy pillow and it's definitely helped a bit. Looking forward to my mattress topper arriving!

TinySalmon · 05/06/2016 12:35

Beautiful sunny day in London too and I'm inside KFC gorging on a Zinger burger after Pilates this morning.

11+5 today. Come on little bump!! Took this photo this morning but just looks like I've been eating too much KFC and Nandos which I have

To the ladies who have SPD, maybe try very gentle pregnancy Pilates? It will help with the pelvic girdle xx

loosey I laughed out loud at your jeans/hair tie combo 😆 Very creative! I'll have to give it a try

December 2016 babies... 2nd trimester in sight
OrianaBanana · 05/06/2016 15:34

Wearing the jeans + elastic band combo here myself - it's all the rage obviously!

Just had a two hour nap after a few bites of lunch made me ill. Feeling pretty sorry for myself actually as I thought I was getting over this. Not sure how I'll face work tomorrow (and I went home sick on Friday so I'll need to talk about that too). So many things need to be done and DS is back at school tomorrow. At least I've managed a shower and hair wash!

Just clinging on to the feeling I got when I saw him/her trampolining Smile

goinggrey1978 · 05/06/2016 16:23

I have sore hips and all round the tops of my legs, painful to walk or stand for long periods of time, hips feel like they stick out too much when I'm trying to sleep on my sides, as I'm a stomach sleeper normally, but boobs and stomach both can't take me sleeping on my stomach anymore, boobs feel like they are strangling me if I get into the wrong position, going to try and get them properly measured this week, my bras don't fit anymore!!
