Since we only have about 15 posts remaining I thought I'd make up the new one.

Lots of babies have arrived already but still plenty of us pregnant too. Here's to our June 2016 babies Smile

Eeeeeeeeee I'm so excited! 4 more days is when DD was born. Still have 19 days left if baby follows in the footsteps of its big brother! Xx

nehagarg · 01/06/2016 08:25

We'll finally see a few June babies in June! Grin

Cartooner · 01/06/2016 09:27

I woke at 4.40am with strong period pain like feelings, well not very strong but enough to wake me every few minutes over an hour, I got excited after a few as I've had loads of BH but no pain like feelings... then I look at the clock and it is 8.15 and the kids are banging about on the landing and I'm back to being a big heavy lump for another day.

It is such a tease isn't it thinking it's kicking off and then.... nothing

iamdivergent · 01/06/2016 10:07

cartooner I've had BH for the last two days, hours of the bloody things Hmm and nada grrrrr

Cartooner u never know I thought I was having braxton hicks and two hours later baby girl was born. I did find the uncertainty this time very annoying. With DD1 one I didnt have any false starts and knew straight away I was in labour. This time I was in.limbo for a good couple of weeks.

Congratulations to everyone on the babies! So many June babies in may. :)

MindfulBear · 01/06/2016 13:23

Congrats on the babies ladies! Gosh can't believe some on here already have a 2wo!!

Well I was relieved yesterday. After a weekend of stressing the baby was head down when I got to the hospital yesterday morning - phew! The MW comment from Friday was ringing in my ears all weekend "baby is oblique. Baby CANNOT be born like that"

So relieved. I hope she stays head down now tho.... Am stressing in case she moves.... Anyone know how likely that is? She is not engaged yet but as she ie DC2 that is no surprise. I've been told she may not engage until labour starts and I'm only 37 weeks so could be a while yet!!

I finish work on Friday tho. Hurrah! Will then start walking and swimming every day to encourage her down and into the right position...... Fingers crossed!

Have also booked my doula so we are all set Grin

Just need to order a change mat and finish packing my hospital bad and I think we are definitely ready....

Poor DS was a little confused when he got home last night. He knew I had been to the hospital and came in asking where th baby was!! Bless him. He thought the baby would be at home already. So cute.

dollydaydream84 · 01/06/2016 14:09

Aww mindful that is cute - my DD asks if we're going to get the baby out every time I go to the hospital! Sooon though !!

Saw a different consultant from last time today which threw me to start with and although she was nice, I felt as though they still think a VBAC is a better idea than ELCS and I had to try and justify myself. Going through the ELCS risks made me go back into worry mode about having surgery! I feel as though ELCS would be the safest for baby but not necessarily me. Part of it is that I just don't trust them, growth scans are notoriously wrong and so much of whether I could deliver seems to be down to luck e.g. "if baby is in a good position" etc. The problem is I want to know I'm making the right decision and no one can tell me that until afterwards.

MagicDucky · 01/06/2016 18:12

All was well at my scan today, baby's stomach is measuring a little on the big side but everything else is fine so they're not worried at all. Just have to go in if I have any concerns with movement at all. Thanks for all the good luck wishes!

laughingGnomette · 01/06/2016 18:26

Mindful - great news!! I'm so pleased for you :)

dolly - its hard isnt it? Particularly when you think you're sorted and someone puts doubts in your mind. Do you have a ELCS date booked?

GenevaJoey · 01/06/2016 19:13

Finally beginning to feel ready for the baby, practically anyway. Had the inventory at the old house today and gave back the keys, and finally got my hair cut and coloured so feel a bit more human again. Just ordered the last few things: changing table, bouncy chair aand baby bath.

Am happy for Baby to come any time now, though have got some nice things planned over the next few days (meals out, seeing friends, cinema), so wouldn't complain if it waited til due date on Monday.

Can't believe how close its getting now. Literally any day, and 16 days at the most. Eek!!

bikingintherain · 01/06/2016 19:33

You sound much more positive than me today Geneva, today I have lost the 'keeping positive about not being in labour yet' battle. I'm only 39+1 but am so done with being pregnant today.

Hopefully tomorrow's a new day and I can be more relaxed about it again. We've booked to see round a new house so maybe that might be enough to distract me.

Torfhinn · 01/06/2016 19:37

Evening all, me and baby (still no name!) are still in hospital as he's got a bit of an infection and is having antibodies. He was very sleepy for the first 36 hours and wouldn't latch, so lots of expressing and syringe feeding. Today he's brighter and feeding from the breast so it's looking good. Wishing the rest of you well in these last days and weeks!

dollydaydream84 · 01/06/2016 19:47

Gnomette - very hard I keep thinking they are the experts! In an normal surgery ie non baby related they'd advise you to have it. I don't like having the option really! I was so sold on vbac pre this pregnancy and now I feel the total opposite (for my situation I mean). Very difficult, just need to woman up and make a decision and stick to it. They did agree to let me book a date which might help.

Biking sorry you are fed up! It's rubbish at the end! I'm part ready just to not be pregnant but not ready in another way!

Good to hear from you Torfhinn and glad baby Torf is starting to feed for you. Well done for expressing, it's hard work!

Did anyone express and freeze milk last time (or this time)? Anyone got good tips for feeding and expressing for spare milk? I bf last time but never seemed
To have enough milk to express as well. Do you feed from one side and express from the other at the same
Time? I'd get about 4oz in 45 mins which was hard work after a 45 minute feed every 2 hours

ILovePies · 01/06/2016 20:08

cartooner i have bh nearly everyday and everyday I wonder if it's the start, but it never is :(
mindful so pleased for you that's fantastic news, hope the swimming & walking help get her head lower.
Oh dolly Flowers just need to do what is best for you. I feel like I say the same thing each time but it's your body. . Not your consultants. If you feel that ELCS is best for that's definitely your decision! I know in my heart & head that I want a vbac. You know what you want. Maybe booking date would be good, so you know you have it booked!
magic so glad the scan went well, fingers crossed baby moves as it should over the next few days/weeks!
biking Flowers with you on that one today! Tomorrow is definitely a new day! The weather here has been pants which definitely hasn't helped my mood! Hope the house is what you're looking for :)
torfhinn sending positive vibes for bubs to feel better soon! Fab to hear he's latched today :)
I would interested in hearing people's experiences of expressing too. I have ordered a manual pump, but if bf goes well I will order an electric one.

Have had horrific lower back pain today. Been coming & going with some BH :( really hoping baby doesn't keep me waiting much longer!

Cartooner · 01/06/2016 20:18

Seems everyone getting plenty of BHs, mine kept going most of today. I'm not due for another six days so I don't know why I think I'll go early on my 4th anyway!

Hope baby improves tomorrow Torfinn.

dollydaydream84 · 01/06/2016 20:40

Thanks IlovePies! Feel like a right moany pants, sorry ladies! Flowers!! I think booking a date will help and stop the indecision!

As for pumps, I had Medela Swing last time, thought it was great, I have got the double this time as I really hope to get the hang of expressing better this time so that DH can do some bottle feeds. We got DD used to bottles early on and she never had a problem when we changed to formula.

ILovePies · 01/06/2016 20:44

Don't be silly dolly! Moan away! That's what we are all here for :)
I have heard fantastic things about the medela! We did the same with DD, we combi fed for 3 weeks then switched her to formula. Really wish I had perserved - determined this time!

cartooner did you go overdue on all your babies so far?

sambababy · 01/06/2016 21:15

Congratulations Torfhinn! Hope his infection clears soon.

Eastend could it be sciatica? I get a shooting pain in my left hip/butt cheek sometimes, only really in the last few weeks. But my baby has been super low for ages.

Can't believe it's June! Ought to get cracking on that hospital bag...

Cartooner · 01/06/2016 21:21

Last baby was born on due date, previous one two days after and the first guy was about four days over. So I guess I might beat my time this one and have this baby Sunday or Monday? Due Tuesday. Who knows, I don't know why I am in a rush, I just spent an hour trying to get the three mad boys I already have to bed, adding a newborn little man into the mix I should be pouring vodka on my cornflakes by July Grin

lovelilies · 01/06/2016 21:38

Eastend I had that last week- real groin pain! Like a shooting pain.
Seems to have gone now. Baby has hiccups all the time though!
Lots and lots of BH here too, interspersed with period type cramps and backache, but no sign of baby yet (37+6).
DS is being super clingy to me at the mo... Don't know how he'll handle the impostor when she arrives! Confused

dollydaydream84 · 01/06/2016 21:48

Aww thanks Ilovepies! I'm relying on bf working again for calorie burning reasons Grin best weight loss programme I've ever been on! ;) I don't think I started expressing soon enough last time or got the hang of it with my supply.

Ooh yeah the hospital bag! Half packed. Should know better I hadn't finished it at 41+6 last time and decided to finish it on day of induction...except went into labour at 41+6 with a half packed bag Grin

Vodka on cornflakes Grin

BabySocks · 01/06/2016 22:34

Baby Libby arrived today from an ELCS due to placenta previa , it was so calm and (sorry to say) nice to know when she was coming Hmm She is feeding like a trooper so far which is fabulous and I love her!!

Any questins about sections please ask, they have had me in the shower already and hopefully will be leaving tomorrow lunch time - seems quick but I am pleased. I also think it has psychologically made me feel better more quickly rather than expecting to be in bed for 5 days.

Fingers crossed it all carries on so smoothly Grin Congrats to all the other new mums, am scared to name anyone in case I forget someone!!!

MagicDucky · 01/06/2016 22:49

Congratulations babysocks what a lovely name!

jellybelly85 · 01/06/2016 23:17

Congrats baby socks and other new babies! It's lovely hearing everyone's birth stories Smile

Think I've been doing too much recently - have picked up a cold which is refusing to shift. Plan for the rest of the week is to literally keep my feet up (it's nice to see them from time to time, to be fair!)
