Since we only have about 15 posts remaining I thought I'd make up the new one.

Lots of babies have arrived already but still plenty of us pregnant too. Here's to our June 2016 babies Smile

Congratulations mrsmugoo, I'm so pleased it went well and you got your vbac! Enjoy your cuddles! Flowers

Congratulations liberty.

Glad everything was ok earlgrey, you definitely did the right thing. Fx for further checks today.

Managed to get a decent nights sleep here, now just mild, irregular contractions. Hopefully things will kick off today!

LouLou030783 · 29/05/2016 08:15

Hopefully things pick up for you soon torfhinn

nehagarg · 29/05/2016 08:21

Oooh. Congratulations mrsmugoo and liberty. What great birth stories.

Good luck Torf. Fx things kick off soon.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. It turns out that a family friend is an NHS expert on tongue tie and a neo natal surgeon. Will talk to him today and take Rishi to Norwich for a second opinion from him.

In the meanwhile, my hospital, Whittington's, breastfeeding expert, Sally called yestetday to check up on our progress and has asked me to come in so she can help us with the nipple shields. Very nice of her, I thought. Smile

Will also go to local bf support groups this week (Hopefully they are on outside term time). So fingers crossed.

DH used to love his 9 hour un-interrupted sleep. Last night he has slept 6 hours in 2 little 2 hour lots and woken up this morning to declare that he has had the best sleep. Grin How things change!!

MagicDucky · 29/05/2016 08:40

Congratulations mrs and liberty! Lovely birth stories!

Glad everything is okay with baby earlgrey I got the same lecture from my midwife and my friend who is due 10 days before me! Thankfully everything was okay here too.

Glad you got a good nights sleep last night torf! Good luck for today! Hopefully things will progress nicely today and you meet your baby soon!

I am struggling to shake the BH. I'm getting them every couple of hours only maybe 2/3 times. They're quite uncomfortable but not getting any worse. It's very annoying. The only thing helping is bouncing on my ball! I just want to sleep. Maybe a sign of labour Hmm

Hi ladies

Baby Loe arrived yesterday, 8lbs 1 and we are all doing great.

Birth story

I was admitted for an induction on Friday night but had to wait till 2 am for the doctor to prescribe the presse but when midwife came to do it @2am I was already 3cm and so there was no point, apparently I was having a silent labour - it's where you don't feel the contractions. They moved me to the birth centre yesterday at 9am and broke my waters & was able to walk around until 11 but after that I was on constant monitoring due to OC & raised BP.

At 12 noon they started me on the drip as I was still 3cm. They kept asking if I wanted an epidural but I wasn't in any pain so declined, the doctor told me I should consider having it don't before they start the drip as it quite painful but I still wasn't feeling any thing so said no but would consider it if I was in pain.

The drip got my contractions to 4 every 10 mins and I was given paracetamol and codeine as started having a dull backache. Once they got constant at about 3pm I started to feel pain in my legs but I was only feeling the tip of each contraction but by 3:30 I was in actual pain and when midwife checked I was now 4cm & in active labour. I tried gas and air to start but it just made me feel sleepy/sick and so I stopped after a few breaths.

At this point I asked for an epidural coz she said it could be another 6+ hours before I was fully dilated.

I couldn't sit/ lie down anymore and instead I was standing by the bed swaying waiting for my epidural but doctor was in theatre & he said I needed to check my bloods for clotting and that would take minimum 30 mins. It got worse and 30 mins later they were still waiting for results, I was on all fours on the bed & felt like I wanted to push. My midwife was dubious as it had only been just over an hour from when I was 4cm but she checked just to see and I was fully dilated. So started to push just before 5 and baby Leo was born at 5:28pm.

My midwife couldn't believe it coz no pain til 4 cm and went from 4cm to 10 in just over an hour and baby out 30 mins later. Smile

clarish84 · 29/05/2016 10:38

Good luck for today torfhinn
And huge congratulations to all who have had there babies Flowers
It's so exciting I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and just want to meet my little man this week has gone so slow I'm hoping it happens this week while it's half term as it would be so much easier for my dad with all the kids they go to 3 different schools so can be a nightmare. Plus the twins told me Friday I had to have his this weekend so they can spend time with him while there off school and not hog him all to my self lol bless um

LouLou030783 · 29/05/2016 10:59

Clarish omg how do u manage 3 different schools??? How does that happen

clarish84 · 29/05/2016 11:14

1 is 15 so goes to high school he's not really a problem my girls go to the primary near me and my boy goes to a special needs school for autistic children . He come home on a bus the problem I have is he gets home 3 30 and the girls get let out 3 30 . I'm lucky my dad helps as obviously I can't be in to places at once . So if I was in hospital I'm not sure how we would work it . Plus in a morning they all leave at different times were used to it but asking someone else do it seems unfair x

strawberrypenguin · 29/05/2016 11:17

Congratulations amI Leo is gorgeous. He's a good weight too!

lovelilies · 29/05/2016 11:27

Lovely stories thank you for sharing and congratulations all around, exciting times!

wigelspigels · 29/05/2016 12:16

Hi Love. I had a Homebirth and loved it. If we ever decide to have a 3rd I'll do it again.

Hopefully you feel better soon.

bikingintherain · 29/05/2016 12:17

Congratulations AmI!

I was never very hopefully for me that the baby would come on the last thread, but I'm hopeful that it will on this one. As time goes on I'm becoming more convinced by the home birth idea. It just suddenly feels like the easiest option! I'm really grateful the midwife is so chilled out and I can just decide in the moment.

Snowflake16 · 29/05/2016 14:12

Just catching up with all the news, can't believe how many babies have been born the last few days. Congratulations to you all Flowers
