Since we only have about 15 posts remaining I thought I'd make up the new one.

Lots of babies have arrived already but still plenty of us pregnant too. Here's to our June 2016 babies Smile

Ooh ooh things happening here!
3-5 mins between contractions
Midwife here
Friend here looking after DS
They've all ordered take away!
Pool filled but don't feel like getting in yet..
Will update!

Eastend2015 · 20/06/2016 22:09

Exciting Lilies! I'm sure your midwife will guide you but I found the pool almost too good pain relief so it slowed my contractions down. I also got cold going in and out so keep lots of towels or a dressing gown handy!

lovelilies · 21/06/2016 00:12

Baby girl born 10.54 pm in water at home
All went beautifully Grin

PissPotPourri · 21/06/2016 00:33

Massive congratulations lovelilies! Awesome news. Now go relax, eat, drink and cuddle

Eastend2015 · 21/06/2016 01:14

Fantastic news, congratulations!! For anyone waiting to drop, arnica tablets seem to be a god send to deflate swollen lady bits!!

Birth story...

Had DC 3 last night at home (planned) and was lovely

Some cramps at top of bump from about 5,30pm which I thought were poo related Hmm
Called DP to hurry up back from work at 6.30 but drove DD1 to climbing activity and did a quick nip round tesco!
Called MW at 7.30pm and was still pottering around with DC1&2 making tea etc. MW thought I wasn't in labour contractions about 5 mins apart but very manageable

Got in birthing pool at around 10pm and drank a cup of tea with DD1 and partner and DD 2 born at 10.54

I'd recommend a home birth, using hypno birthing methods for breathing and visualisations. Was all very calm and peaceful. I'd asked for no talking in lounge (where I was) and had my yoga music playing and candles and fairy lights. DP supported me in the pool for 2 pushes and she was out. Used G&A for last 20 mins when I reached the 'I can't do this anymore' stage ha ha.

Was very vocal (screaming/ shouting etc) with DC1&2 but this one just some groans when I was pushing.

DD1 says she's like to be a MW after watching her sister being born!

strawberrypenguin · 21/06/2016 06:33

Congratulations lovelillies she's beautiful and that sounds like an amazing calm birth. Hope you've all had some sleep now too.

MagicDucky · 21/06/2016 07:03

Congratulations lilies! Sounds like the perfect birth.

I've been in since Sunday night at 9 and baby magic still hasn't arrived. Had two pessaries and now two sweeps. They are going to try breaking my waters later on and hopefully we'll meet our baby by tonight! Feel like this is lasting forever. Induction, definitely feels more intense than spontaneous labour for me anyway!

iamdivergent · 21/06/2016 07:37

Congratulations lillies sounds like my kind of birth! Baby is beautiful Smile

Awesome lovelillies - congrats GrinThat I can't do this anymore phase ShockGrin Homebirth is awesome. She is lovely.

Homeboddy49 · 21/06/2016 09:00

She is beautiful lillies. Congrats

I am also practicing hypnobirthing so I love to hear this story. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to have a home birth but I will try and make my delivery room as calm as possible.

Cartooner · 21/06/2016 11:31

Congratulations to all the beautiful babies! I love the photos. You all must feel great to be out the other side.

And to those still waiting, I can imagine it is extremely frustrating. If it's any consultation I'd do birth again rather than my first week of breastfeeding, painful nipples, bleeding etc., the hardest I've had yet I am just unfortunate but I am out the other side. We all get there eventually be it through the overdue limbo, or the birth, or the painful feeding... also I've come full circle on being bit upset about the birth, met my midwife yesterday and had a good chat. I really do think hormones have a lot to answer for in the week after a baby it's nearly best to park all thoughts about the birth until you're in a better space.

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and well done to those of you with your home births, your dashes to the hospital, your calm sections and whatever route the birth takes, the prize is worth it, mine is sleeping here on my lap safe and sound xx

MollieRos · 21/06/2016 14:27

Congratulations to more new mums! Lovely to see the gorgeous photos whenever I get chance to check on here Smile

What's your due date divergent?

iamdivergent · 21/06/2016 17:48

19th - I'm 40+2

Homeboddy49 · 21/06/2016 18:04

Ah yes. Sorry you are fed up. I'm a week behind you and a bit fed up as well. I also thought it would be lovely and sunny on my time off and I could do some relaxing in the garden but no chance

iamdivergent · 21/06/2016 18:08

Weather has been nice here but I've already been off for 3wks so the boredom has well and truly set in. Friends are all at work so not easily available for coffees etc and I don't have any family local to me. Maternity leave is lonely i say that now but the girls finish school a week on Friday for summer

Good luck Ducky! Iam, do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?

iamdivergent · 21/06/2016 18:30

It's a boy

Hi everyone, I fell off the tread because it is so long since I posted.

Congratulations on all of the lovely squishy new babies - I have been pleased for every one of you but haven't seemed to be able to post to say so! Flowers

Baby Madrigal is 5 weeks old tomorrow, and things are pretty good. Sleeping is still very patchy, but bfeeding is going really well now, and she weighs 10lb as of today! I am thrilled because we had a difficult start and she lost 11% of her body weight and took 2 weeks to get back to her brith weight (8lb 15oz)

Good luck to those still waiting - sending positive vibes for smooth uncomplicated labours for you all.

bikingintherain · 21/06/2016 23:20

Congratulations lillies, and I hope things are finally moving ducky.

To those still waiting, hang in there! I know how hard waiting can be, but it's all worth it in the end.

One week in and bf has settled down, and I hope we're on the home stretch with it. hurrah no more packing my boobs with ice at 3am in the morning
. Went out with the family for the first time today. Just a short walk to a cafe, I was amazed at how tired and a bit shaky I felt after it. I guess previously first trips out just revolved getting into a car and driving somewhere. DM keeps telling me my stamina will be low as I've not left the apartment much over the last 6 weeks, after the walk today I am suddenly inclined to believe her! but am still planning my next escape

Eastend2015 · 22/06/2016 00:05

Hello all just checking in! Moved from high dependency to the regular postnatal ward tonight and should get home tomorrow. Had a second blood transfusion this morning and feel so much better for it. Luckily Max took to BF straight away and while it's quite sensitive while he feeds (due to a latch like a suction pump!!) I wouldn't say it's painful. Surprised though that today we've done 11 feeds generally between 30-45 mins and he is two days old?! He has also done 3 dirty nappies but I thought they only got a few drops of colostrum at this stage! On the sleeping front, it's mainly other babies in hospital keeping us both awake but he sleeps for a few hours at a stretch on my chest and the hospital seem happy with co-sleeping in the night as long as the bed bars are up and a midwife can keep an eye on us. Due to a few factors he'll need to be in carrycot at home though which'll be hard for us both Confused

Eastend2015 · 22/06/2016 02:17

OMG I don't know if anyone remembers the conversation we had months ago about night time nappy changes?! Good grief, I wasn't expecting to deal with my first at 2am in a silent hospital ward with a catheter in one side and canula in the other, which thanks to 11 feeds in 24 hours is SO STINKY there is no way I can lie next to it. And after all my smugness earlier it's my baby screaming his head off while I'm trying to find the wipes!! Where is daddy when you need him?!?
