Since we only have about 15 posts remaining I thought I'd make up the new one.

Lots of babies have arrived already but still plenty of us pregnant too. Here's to our June 2016 babies Smile

Congratulations eastend! Hope it wasn't too traumatic for you!

Currently sitting in an empty ward having had my first pessary. OH has been sent home until something happens and I'm supposed to sleep. It sounds so silly but I really struggle to sleep without him. Just wish I was at home in my own bed.

Wow Emma, Congrstulations!! 20 mins apart!!

strawberrypenguin · 20/06/2016 04:37

Congratulations eastend and enma
Good luck magic and billi

MagicDucky · 20/06/2016 05:21

Congratulations emma he is gorgeous!

Nothing happening here, think they're going to give me another pessary Sad

jellybelly85 · 20/06/2016 05:46

Congrats and welcome to the new squishy babies! Hope mums are recovering well. What a Father's Day treat for the dads Wink

dollydaydream84 · 20/06/2016 06:01

Congrats Eastend and Emma! Absolutely gorgeous and on Father's day too!!

Gnomette managed to read all of your post this morning, glad you found it a better overall experience. Hoping for the same, thanks for sharing it with me xxx Flowers

Good luck Magic I think the waiting is the worst part, know exactly what you mean about wanting to be with your OH and at home. I find the sending home of the partners one of the most stressful aspects of birthing in hospital.

Homeboddy49 · 20/06/2016 06:27

Congratulations ladies on all your arrivals. The pictures that are coming through are so adorable, I just can't wait to meet my little girl. Am nearly in tears looking at some of them not hormonal at all

So interesting reading all the birth stories and how all your labours have started. I am sympton watching constantly now. Still a week away from EDD. 39+1 today. Anyone else got a week to go? Only sympton to report is occasional period like pains but only at night. Baby is moving lots so she is very happy in there. I have a MW appt next week and they have already said they are going to offer a sweep but currently weighing up to accept or not as would like to do things naturally even though I am ready for this baby to arrive.

Having lots of sleepless nights. Currently in the process of house hunting so am up thinking about that the last few nights.

Looking forward to hearing more baby news bulletins today Smilekeep them coming

Eastend2015 · 20/06/2016 06:52

Thanks ladies- Max was born after a 24 hour labour, gas and air made me really sick so got all the way dilated on very little pain relief but threw everything up I was given so eventually contractions slowed down, ended up with syntocinon, spinal block, forceps delivery and 3 litres blood loss! The team at St. Thomas' were amazing though and we never felt pushed in to anything, so on balance I think it was a really positive experience although I think DH is a little traumatised. Bubs even took to the boob straight away! Just can't believe I'm a momma at long last, 3rd time lucky!!

iamdivergent · 20/06/2016 07:34

Congratulations to the new arrivals. Officially overdue here! DH is annoyed because he would have booked a weeks leave before now and only had the weeks paternity and a week annual leave once baby arrived. He has a very full on job and has been in need of a holiday for at least a month I'd have said, he still potentially has a fortnight before baby Hmm

We're now into the two weeks that I'd been praying baby didn't arrive as it's the last two weeks of school here and we are so, so busy with assemblies, trips and discos - nightmare at the best of times - I have dd1 class assembly today.

Feeling quite low atm, just want baby here and safe. Doesn't help that everyone is going on about how huge the baby is going to be - that's what I want to hear and be thinking about as I'm in the run up to giving birth!

Gosh eastend you did go through the mill a bit. Being sick in full labour can't be fun (I throw up afterwards!) sounds like you did a great job, how you feeling now?
If it helps I barely remember anything of my labour with DS1 which was a 3 day induction with eventual syntocin drip and forceps in theatre but I remember a lot more of my more straightforward induction with DS2 which actually seemed worse although on paper was much better!

bikingintherain · 20/06/2016 08:31

Congratulations on all the new arrivals everyone. There's such a lovely choice of names and beautiful photographs. I hope everyone has a good recovery especially those who had difficult births.

Try to ignore comments about size iam, before Annie, the other DC's were 9lb8 and 9lb13. They were both straight forward births, yes I had a few stitches, but I did with Annie and she was 7lb8. I think size rarely has a huge affect on the delivery.

dollydaydream84 · 20/06/2016 09:40

iamdivergent just as biking said, you can never tell how big the baby is going to be, just as the growth scans are not all that accurate! My friend was predicted a 3lber and got a 7lber, similarly people have been predicted 9lber and got 7lber. Sorry you are feeling low, I am still hanging in there with you if it is any consolation :D

Question for everyone who has had their babies...did your bumps drop prior to labour? Mine didn't at all last time and looking the same again!

iamdivergent · 20/06/2016 11:46

Just had the midwife on the phone - I'm the last one standing! All the other home births scheduled around me have delivered so they're only on call for me now 😣 it's good in that if I go there isn't anyone to contend so I should get my home birth...if he ever decides to come out!

I don't really think my bump has ever noticeably dropped, never had any relief from the heartburn or reflux that I'd have expected.

PissPotPourri · 20/06/2016 12:36

Congratulations emma and eastend! So many different birth experiences, but we all come through it and have our little cuties at the end. It really is worth it. Iam, so sorry to hear you're low. I so understand, especially when you've got practical concerns about when it'll happen. Hang on in there.

MagicDucky · 20/06/2016 12:44

Wow eastend that's traumatic but it sounds like you handled it like a pro! Well done!

Very slow irregular contractions here. They keep dying off! They're going to re-examine me at 2:30 and see if I need a third pessary!! Was so hopeful it would work straight away! I just want to see my baby now. I'm sure I'll forget all about this soon enough though!

wigelspigels · 20/06/2016 12:54

Iam - fingers crossed something happens soon.

Dolly - I don't remember my bump dropping, but when I look at my bump photo at 37 weeks 4 days prior to birth I can see it is low. With my first my bump looked completely different than the 2nd one.

Eastend - congrats and look after yourself. The main thing is you and buba is safe.

Emma - congrats he is lovely

Magic - hope all goes quick

Billi - thinking of you

lovelilies · 20/06/2016 13:58

TMI here but have been very constipated recently and lactulose wasn't having any effect so had a couple of Senna.. Now going the other way! But also know a 'clear out' is a sign of labour starting so hoping that may be part of it Grin
Feeling the frustration being over due at 40+3 here. Going to try and have a little nap and store up some zzzs. Fingers crossed for all of you waiting!

jellybelly85 · 20/06/2016 13:59

Magic and billi hoping you're little ones arrive smoothly and soon today.

My lil one is 11 days today, feeding well, and really grateful to have another week with DP at home together before he return to work. We're currently sharing the night feeds (I sleep 10-4, he sleeps 4-10) but both starting to feel really tired now we've been doing this for a while. Does anyone have any good tips on adjusting to sleep deprivation / surviving night feeds / how long this lasts..?

mrsmugoo · 20/06/2016 14:36

Jelly belly you're onto a good thing with that arrangement!

No tips really as I've been surviving on about 4 hours a night - typically sleep 11-1 (2 if I'm lucky) then 3-5 then by the time baby is re-settled its time to get up with toddler so rarely get anymore than that :-/

I try to avoid caffeine so that if the stars align I can nap in the day but I can only do this 3 days a week when toddler is at nursery.

I found night feeds dropped to 2 a night by 4/5 months then 1 by 6 months and sleeping through by 8 months. The first 4 months was relentless though - rarely getting 3 hours sleep in a row was tough :( EBF so no help at night.

GrubbyWindows · 20/06/2016 14:41

Re sleep- I EBF too and I think it helps, if it happens to be possible, you get useful hormones to settle back to sleep quickly and to help with the exhaustion.
But my top tip is do anything to avoid getting out of bed- cosleep, use a sidecar cot, but stay in bed with low light if you possibly can. I even change nappies in bed (poos only, pee can wait). DP gets up if toddler DS wakes, and in the morning, and me and DD stay in bed as long as we can. And try and nap whenever you possibly can too!!

jellybelly85 · 20/06/2016 14:51

Thanks for your tips!

We've got a Chicco n2m upstairs, but we're currently not using it. whoever is doing the feed shift (DP has EBM to give via bottle) stays downstairs and naps on the sofa with baby in Moses basket, and the othe parent is asleep in bed upstairs. We figured if both in same room - both would get disrupted sleep. Does that make sense or would we be better off using the cn2m?

wigelspigels · 20/06/2016 15:11

Grubby - we co sleep too. Did with our first too. DS2 is a big pooer change those at night. Low light is a must, no harsh lights. I don't express for night feeds. DH has been back at work for 2 weeks.

I am managing to get my allotment weeds under control with the help of MIL, but the days just seem to fly by.

Flying to the states in 3 weeks for 2 weeks when DS2 is 7 weeks. Boobs on hand will be good for this Grin

nehagarg · 20/06/2016 16:22

jellybelly we are doing the same. I go to bed at 8 PM and DH looks after Rishi until about midnight. He puts him in the chicco at that time and goes and sleeps in the spare room. Rishi wakes between 2-3 next and I take care of him then. Like you we decided there wasnt any point in both of us waking up.

AmIseeingRight · 20/06/2016 20:57

Hi ladies, congrats to all the new mummies just been catching up - wow. Not long for the other June babies. Hopefully everyone will have their baby very soon for cuddles.

Also EBF Leo and during the day he's on a 2-3 hour feed and I try and nap when he's alseep. Mum helps esp with getting things or taking him if I need sleep during the day. At night has a bath 9/10pm and the I put him in his cot (next to our bed) by 10/11pm and he will wake (or I will get him up) at 2/3am feed, change and the again at 5/6am for another feed. Some nights if he sleeps late he will only wake up once at night and again at 7am. I express and bottle feed (or OH does when he's around) at night, with just a night light and we are back in bed in 15 mins & Leo is in his cot so getting a good nights rest. I make sure I have 2 full bottles for the night, I found BF took too long and I was too tired.

We saw the HV today and Leo is now just over 9lb @ 3 weeks, having regained his birth weight and and extra 1lbs. Can't believe how quickly he's growing Grin. Still can't believe I'm a mum to this amazing person.
