Since we only have about 15 posts remaining I thought I'd make up the new one.

Lots of babies have arrived already but still plenty of us pregnant too. Here's to our June 2016 babies Smile

Congratulations Jelly Thomas is absolutely gorgeous!

LouLou030783 · 05/06/2016 11:39

Congratulations pample and jelly hope all is well, I'm bored to tears on mat leave still 3 weeks till due date and feeling like it's forever away

GrubbyWindows · 05/06/2016 12:27

Ooooh jelly congratulations!!!! WhAt a sweetheart!!
Glad all went well- lets hope they Spring you soon!

Re milk- anyone else leaking already??? Only at night, on the side that DS fed on for a bit longer at the end of breastfeeding (I didn't go lopsided at the time, but that side is much bigger now, Ho hum...). I'll be flooded once the baby is here and my milk actually comes in!

dollydaydream84 · 05/06/2016 12:41

Congrats Jelly absolutely gorgeous, love his hair Grin

Grubby not leaking yet, dreading leaking after baby arrives in the hot, sticky weather. Was bad enough last time in the depths of winter never mind in hot weather too.

Good luck Eastend and Cartooner

Anyone else's nether regions aching when they move? When I turn over in bed or stand up its like the muscles are all sore. Similarly my glutes are aching as though I've been running. Obviously the extra weight or perhaps things are moving!?

jellybelly85 · 05/06/2016 14:02

Congrats Jelly - hope Thomas is enjoying life on the outside!

grubby I've had a little leak most nights - I take it to be a good sign for future breastfeeding (first timer).

Definitely having more BHs, luckily nothing painful - just tightening. Nothing regular yet. I think my body is warming up... (Had the odd painful one but reckon these are when I'm overdoing things). Weather is glorious today!

MindfulBear · 05/06/2016 16:22

Congrats to all the new babies!! Thomas is a cutie!

Thanks for the replies re the towel. Think I will take a towel, pillow and blanket.

If I end up in the pool and if DH joins me for any of that then he will need the towel and if he doesn't then I would like a fluffy towel for my post birth shower!! So will pack that in my wheelie bag.

No idea if we Will end up staying in but if they do I know they allow partners to stay over but don't provide pillows or blankets for them. So will leave those items in the car I think. Alongside the extra nappies, towels, clothes etc in the "just in case of a longer stay" bag!

MindfulBear · 05/06/2016 16:24

Btw has anyone on here done antenatal expressing or colostrum harvesting? Given problems we had last time it has been recommended so thought I might try it but feeling nervous!!!
No leaking milk here but DS still breast feeds infrequently (mainly mornings but not every day now) and he says there is milk... But I haven't seen any!!

MindfulBear · 05/06/2016 16:27

& final question...... Perineum prep..... Have you / did you?
EpiNo? Or perineal massage?

Is this useful 2nd time round or a waste of time? Have not seen much on it at all re2nd timers!!

I used the epino first time round which really helped with crowning as it made it less scary but I still had a 2nd degree tear which was most likely to do with poor MW care (she rushed me at the end and made me push him out when I don't believe either of us was ready - I was Hypnobirthing so breathing him out which was much gentler but was taking too long for her tick boxes)

dollydaydream84 · 05/06/2016 16:56

I hadn't heard of EpiNo MindfulBear I did wonder about colostrum expressing but wonder if it would bring milk in before baby is born? Not sure?!

Been ok with the heat up to now but it's been a scorcher here today. Hot and bothered!

JellyBaby26 · 05/06/2016 17:38

Mindful I expressed before my section. I found it mega helpful last night when all he wanted was my nips but all I wanted was sleep!

It makes no difference to supply IMO.

strawberrypenguin · 05/06/2016 17:42

Colostrum harvesting shouldn't bring your milk in dolly I think milk production is kicked off by the hormone changes of the placenta detaching or something like that!
I did express some colostrum mindful didn't get an awe full lot but it was worth it. You need a few small syringes to suck the drops up with.

iamdivergent · 05/06/2016 17:49

Currently 24° - not good for the 38wk pregnant lady Confused

mindful I tore last time and my midwives are evangelical about perineal massage (or epino if it's in budget), apparently if you didn't tear the first time there isn't so much point, but it you did it's worthwhile.
I must say, I really can't be bothered with it though, which I know is bad!

cautiousoptimist1 · 05/06/2016 19:31

Congratulations jelly and welcome to the world Thomas.

Same here iam, especially a 38 week pregnant lady who didn't really buy any summer clothes! Good excuse for ice cream though!

No sign of anything happening here yet but have properly organised the baby stuff today. We now have a drawer upstairs full of nappies, wipes, nappy bags etc for upstairs changes and a basket prepared with the same for downstairs. All of the clothes (actually not that many, just enough for first few days) have been ironed and put away and I've explained my system to the DH who may need to bring more clothes to the hospital Hmm. Toys we've been given so far are in a chest and the car seat is in! So baby is welcome to come and join us anytime now! Smile

I'm planning to go to my church bumps and babies group tomorrow, not sure I get it but I know the people who run it so will put in an appearance if I feel ok.

nehagarg · 05/06/2016 20:35

Erm ... How does sleepyhead claim to be able to fit babies up until 8 months? Rishi is 3 weeks tomorrow and threatning to outgrow it soon. Hmm

Thanks for info on colostrum harvesting I didn't realise!

Nehagarg how on earth is he 3 weeks already?! He is absolutely gorgeous! Grin

earlgreydrinker · 05/06/2016 21:52

Pleased to announce the arrival of Rupert William Peter at 17.29 weighing 8lbs 4oz.
No induction needed in the end which was a relief.
A small tear and a few stitches but so well looked after and really well managed. Fed for an hour too. V happy :-)

cautiousoptimist1 · 05/06/2016 21:56

Congratulations earlgrey, fabulous name! Hope you're both well.

dollydaydream84 · 05/06/2016 22:03

I knoooow dolly. Time flies (except when you are trying ti get him back to sleep at 3 AM) Grin

laughingGnomette · 05/06/2016 22:39

pample, earlgrey and Jelly - congratulations on your new arrivals!
cartooner - I hope all is going well!
I'm really struggling to keep up with this thread at the moment so sorry if I've missed anyone out.
nehagarg - do you unclip the bottom bit and use it more like a horseshoe than a donut when they get too long? I've never used one before so I could be totally wrong but that's what I was thinking would happen.

strawberrypenguin · 05/06/2016 22:46

Rishi is gorgeous nehagarg no idea about the sleepyhead though!

Congratulations earl glad everything went well. Fab name!

emma85x · 05/06/2016 23:39

Congratulations earl - I absolutely love the name too.
I hope everyone who's had their babies are settling in well.
To other mums to be who are still preggo - we're so nearly there!
