Since we only have about 15 posts remaining I thought I'd make up the new one.

Lots of babies have arrived already but still plenty of us pregnant too. Here's to our June 2016 babies Smile

Aww they are nice flowers clarish well done and fingers crossed it works!

AmiSeeing sooo glad for you! Good to know the nipple shields worked and he is feeding well. I didn't use them last time as didn't know they existed so thanks for the heads up! Got quite painful sometimes!

pamplem0usse · 03/06/2016 21:22

Margot Hadley was born this morning by elcs. Despite a few complications I was very well looked after (shame I can't say the same for the postnatal ward but at least she's feeding like a trooper!)...

Congratulations pamplem0usse, she's a cutie and I love her name. Sorry to hear you're having issues on the ward, hope it gets better soon.

nehagarg · 03/06/2016 21:42

Good to know AmI ... Thanks. I have just bought the medela shields to try with Rishi who still isn't latching. The boots own brand didnt work at all.

Thanks for asking laughing ... He is doing well but I am now beginning to freak out about the amount of milk I am able to express (which isn't much). Started on feugreek a couple of days ago. Really hoping it will kick in soon. Also expressing in the middle of the night now to increase supply as I really dont want to rely on formula and at the moment he is having to have rather a lot of it since my supply is quite low and he has started guzzling 150 mils at each feed. Off to Norwich tomorrow to have him seen by our family friend for his tongue tie. Everything crossed that this attempt will have more success.

Congrats pample ... She is gorgeous! Smile

JulieBolton79 · 03/06/2016 21:47

AmI I've had the same problem with Corben and have now tried the shields had have successfully fed him twice today. I'm so relieved as I was worrying about his weight. I've also been thinking of buying the pump from Mothercare too so it's good to hear it's good.

JulieBolton79 · 03/06/2016 21:51

Also iamdivergent my show was snot like! 2 days before I had him X

strawberrypenguin · 03/06/2016 21:53

Eastend2015 · 03/06/2016 22:28

Gorgeous Pample! Congratulations!!

Coldest · 03/06/2016 22:29

I was wondering why postnatal wards are so shit everywhere.

I pressed the buzzer only once becajsed I was in so much pain and the nurse came told me off for pressing the buzzer as it made too much noise. I was to go to the desk if i needed anythibg! I was in so much pain. Asked for pain killers and she dissapeared never to return again.

Morgot is lovely pample. Eat of luck with tongue tie snio tmrw nehagarg

emma85x · 03/06/2016 22:49

pample Congratulations!! She is gorgeous and I LOVE the name!

neha good luck in Norwich, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

coldest sorry to hear about the ward, sounds rubbish. When can you go home?

pamplem0usse · 03/06/2016 23:28

I think staff are often ground down and demotivated. I've been left for long periods (2hours plus) without promised pain killers, offered no food (despite being assured that they'd have something suitably gluten free) had to make three reminders for having a catheter bag emptied and then chastised for it filling so quickly (I had three litres of fluid in theatre!) and when I asked for help changing a nappy was handed the stuff and told to get on with it despite being four hours post surgery😖

MollieRos · 04/06/2016 02:03

congratulations pample she's gorgeous, and what a lovely name Smile

neha hope everything goes well tomorrow.

I'm going to have a look at those medula nipple shields definitely worth a try!

sambababy · 04/06/2016 02:14

Congratulations Julie and pamplem!! Sorry the aftercare is being so rubbish though :(

Mindful I had a waterbirth. I was in the bath very briefly at home but my waters broke so we left for the hospital. I'd found it hard to get comfortable in the bath though during contractions so I spent the rest of my labour sitting on a ball in the shower. I got in the bath right before I started pushing and she was born in the water. DH was in it with me. I can't comment on whether it helped with the pain as it's the only birth I've been through. I have a friend who, like you said, got in the bath and just wanted to get out again. I'm hoping for another waterbirth this time.

Nehagarg I hope your trip helps with the tongue tie situation. Sorry I must've missed you saying why the hospital won't snip it for you? DD was born with tongue tie but they won't do anything about it as a rule over here until they're 6 months old because they want to give them general anaesthetic for surgery. Can you imagine, 6 months of shredded nipples and a GA at 6mo?! We luckily found a paediatric dentist that snipped it 'uk style' when she was about 2 months old.

earlgreydrinker · 04/06/2016 07:36

Congratulations pample. Margot is a fantastic name Smile!

Coldest · 04/06/2016 07:45

Emma85x thanks for asking. I was only there for one night thank goodness.

Coldest · 04/06/2016 07:47

Pample that sounds so rubbish. Sorry you are going through thus Sad

Cartooner · 04/06/2016 07:49

Congrats Julie!

I've had an up & down night. 39+4, pains now every 6-7 minutes for three hours, hot water bottle on the go... I tend to have long drawn out labour so not expecting this to accelerate till later today but pretty sure I'm in labour. Positive thoughts are slightly clouded right now I need to have a shower & get in the right mindset that this is probably it...

Cartooner · 04/06/2016 08:05

And congrats Pample!

emma85x · 04/06/2016 08:20

Ooohhh cartooner how exciting! Good luck with it all X

GrubbyWindows · 04/06/2016 08:46

Congratulations pample!! I'm so sorry to hear about your super grim post natal ward, that's not on! You need support! My hospital is not too bad- with DS they were great about nappies and pain relief etc. Feeling very lucky now.

Oooh cartooner good luck! We are all rooting for you! Hopefully it will either get going ASAP, or you can manage to rest a tiny bit despite it all...

MagicDucky · 04/06/2016 09:16

Congratulations pample she is gorgeous.

Good luck cartooner! Hope it doesn't go too slowly for you!

clarish84 · 04/06/2016 11:10

Congratulations pample x

And good luck cartooner hope things go smoothly for you x

Sorry for tmi but I had like a greenish snot like discharge today is this a sign that the sweep did somthing or am I just being hopeful lol
I'm ment be going a bbq today but have period like pains too so don't know if I should bother x

GrubbyWindows · 04/06/2016 11:21

Greenish can be a sign of infection clarsh, I'd give the midwife a ring, or labour ward if the midwife isn't about at the weekend

clarish84 · 04/06/2016 11:23

grubbywindows that never even crossed my mind thanx I will give them a call x
