Here's the new thread, for bumps and babies before we all graduate together!

Odog glad to hear you're home. DH got a cold sore whilst on paternity and I wouldn't let him hold DD for about a week. I feel pretty bad about it now, but hormones make worrying worse!

Notro congratulations! Sorry to hear it was traumatic though, I hope you recover quickly.

Nope, it doesn't seem to have done anything Everything (although it can take up to 48 hours to have an effect I think). I hope your backache turns into something. It's so frustrating getting niggles that disappear!

Outnumb3red · 27/05/2016 06:10

Morning, quick update.

DC3 arrived last night, on his due date at 23.06pm, 8lb11.

My waters started leaking about 8am yesterday morning, no pains though. Trickled on throughout the day, called hospital about 4.30 and headed over to be checked out. They confirmed my hind waters had went and didn't want me to go home incase I didn't make it back in time again. Said they'd induce me today if I hadn't went by myself. She gave me a sweep again and i started getting niggly contractions, nothing sore though, more like braxton hicks. They then said they'd just pop my Forewaters that night instead and moved me to a delivery room. Was sitting waiting for the doc and still having niggly contractions which led to a whole lot more water coming out. Proper contractions kicked in at 9.30 and baby was with me at 11.06pm.

Exhausted and dying to get home x

ODog · 27/05/2016 07:00

Congratulations notro and outnumbered. Hope you both recover well and sorry to hear how traumatic the birth was notro.

Icecappedpinetrees · 27/05/2016 07:21

Notro - that sounds awful. You must be so tired. A traumatic labour leaves you reeling for a while. Are the midwives being supportive? Congratulations on your little boy. I'm sure he's lovely Smile

Congratulations outnumbered. Hope you get home soon.

GunShotResidue · 27/05/2016 09:41

Congratulations Outnumb3red!

Fingers crossed the rest of us go over the weekend!

Pikz · 27/05/2016 11:26

Congrats not and outnumbered

Notro I had a pph too.... Did they give you a blood transfusion?

ParsnipSoup · 27/05/2016 13:40

Congratulations notso and outnumb3red! I hope you're both enjoying baby cuddles.

Went into labour ward this morning because of headache and flashing lights, now on BP medicines and I'm being induced. Hoping my pessary works but not holding out much hope as my cervix was completely closed!

TristanlovesIsolde · 27/05/2016 13:45

An update for you all..

DS2 arrived on Wednesday evening a week after due date. Much quicker than DS1 but more painful! Contractions become more regular from about 3pm. By 6.30pm they were every 4 mins and bloody painful. Got to hospital for 7pm and DS2 born by 9pm. Only gas and air and no time for anything else. Baby's heart beat dropped a little at the end so was on oxygen for last 10 mins or so and they were keen to get him out. Bit so much quicker compared to first time round.

Feeding well but nipples killing me today. Baby has slight tongue tie bit appears to still be able to latch well.

Let's see how the first night at home goes.

Congratulations to those of you who also had your babies over the last few days and best of luck to everyone still left.

GunShotResidue · 27/05/2016 19:09

Congratulations Tristan!

Good luck Parsnip!

Still nothing here. Think it's going to end up being an induction next week. In June!

ODog · 27/05/2016 19:51

parsnip - sorry to hear about your bp but glad they are taking it seriously. Fwiw my cervix was long, hard and closed when pessary went in. 4 hrs later DD arrived!

ODog · 27/05/2016 19:53

Congrats tristan .

Get yourself some lansinoh and bamboo breast pads if you don't have them already. Massively helped me a few days ago.

clashofclanswidow · 27/05/2016 21:52

Eek, congratulations everyone!! =D

DC2 due date has come today and is slowly going haha. Had stretch and sweep - midwife said cervix is "open a couple of centimetres but still thick" =(

Baby is fully engaged though so she said it was reasonable to assume I would go naturally, it's just a matter of when now and will be booked in again for next week.

Really hoping it's sooner rather than later as these muscle pains at the top of my bump have been horrible the last few days! Can't finish a sentence sometimes!

Feeling a bit fed up, was hoping I'd be in labour by now haha. Oh well.

Congrats again to all the recent mummies! =) xx

ParsnipSoup · 27/05/2016 22:44

I hope your first night home goes well Tristan.

Pessary went in 10hrs ago and still not much is happening. Started to get some pains in the last hour or so but I'm convinced it's actually trapped wind. Waiting for a CTG at 11 and then I can get some sleep.

Everythinggettingbigger · 28/05/2016 01:37

Oh wow congratulations on all the newborns and good luck to those starting their journey!

Got to about 11.30 today when I realise I hadn't had much movement despite eating and drinking regularly so called FMAU who asked me to go in, still took baby half an hour on monitoring before he started to move!! Was given a sweep (successfully this time.....4th time lucky) and told they expected to see me back there tonight as I was already having tightenings, was 2-3cm and although cervix was still thick it was very short. Well things started happening pretty quick.......by quick I mean during the short ride home contractions had started and we're already 2 mins apart! This went on for nearly 2 hours then slowed then bloody stopped AngryAngry had a few irregular pains some strong some not since!

Just been woken up by some pretty strong ones.....will start timing again if it carries on, feels stronger than this afternoon.

If all else fails booked to have my waters broken on Sunday morning, followed by induction if that doesn't work!

ODog · 28/05/2016 07:02

Good luck parsnip and everything. Sounds like things are progressing.

ParsnipSoup · 28/05/2016 07:56

Hope things are going well for you Everything!!

Having mild but regular contractions now so hoping that something is happening!!

GrouchyKiwi · 28/05/2016 11:11

Good luck Parsnip, Everything and Clash.

Congrats Tristan.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

GunShotResidue · 28/05/2016 11:34

Sounds very positive Everything and Parsnip, hopefully you'll be having newborn cuddles soon!

Hope things get going soon Clash!

Long walk this morning but it didn't start anything. 9 days overdue now and well and truly fed up. My sister has to go home today, but hopefully my MIL will be coming up for a few days. Then my sister will be back on Tuesday if I'm still pregnant! Have a sweep tomorrow but I'm pretty sure it's going to end up being an induction next week. Really, really fed up!

ParsnipSoup · 28/05/2016 17:59

Induction is taking forever. Had 24hrs of propess, now halfway through my 6hrs of prostin...

I need more stories of all the gorgeous new babies to keep me going. I hope those of you not tied to a CTG monitor have enjoyed the sunshine today.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 28/05/2016 18:30

My little girl is 3 weeks today! Visiting my family this weekend while DP does his "hobby" for the long weekend love a good Mumsnetism, the train down was quite an adventure on Thursday, good having my sister to help with the tube! Total bloody chaos here though with her 3 terrors who she mostly ignores but lovely having my mum take LO for 2 hours this morning from 7-9 while I slept. Woke up with mega sore boobs ready for her just as my mum brought her up to me! My mum went out after that though to look after 2 of my sister's DC so nobody made me a cup of tea all morning and had a Velcro baby who I couldn't put down...so that's the tales from motherhood Paranip, hope you're not waiting too much longer!

frozensmoothie · 28/05/2016 19:22

Hope you're ok parsnip Sounds like my induction experience. Was driven mad by the ctg in the end. I ended up having my waters broken as propess and prostin did nothing!

GunShotResidue · 28/05/2016 19:58

I realised after I sent the last message it might have been worded insensitively, I meant positive as in close to the end of pregnancy, not as in I think you're having a good time! I know reduced movements and induction are not fun.

MIL came for the afternoon, and has taken DD back to hers until Monday! It's the longest I've ever been away from her and I'm being very pathetic about it. I would blame pregnancy hormones but I am a bit like it anyway Blush

ODog · 28/05/2016 21:48

Had my first afternoon/evening with toddler and newborn today. Had to navigate a 4yo birthday party with the two of them. It was fine but I wouldn't have survived without the sling. Then managed to bath toddler and get him to sleep which is challenging at the best of times whilst cluster feeding DD. Feeling pretty proud!

ParsnipSoup · 28/05/2016 22:02

Sounds like you've all had busy days!

Cant I hope someone has been making you cups of tea since you posted!

I didn't take the "positive" thing badly gunshot so please don't worry about it, it's definitely a positive thing that everything is underway. I think you're allowed to miss your DD, but think of how much fun she'll have being fussed over by her granny!

ODog you should be proud, you sound like supermum!

I've had my second prostin. Cervix still isn't dilated enough to break waters. Going to try and get some sleep tonight and hope either some magic happens or there is a plan tomorrow to get baby out of my belly!!

frozensmoothie · 28/05/2016 22:41

Hope things get moving for you parsnip they ended up breaking my waters even though cervix wasn't dilated enough, was only 1cm but they just about managed to!

Hope something happens for you soon gunshot

Very impressed odog I'm barely able to leave the house at the moment with just one baby.

I've been suffering from the baby blues after the traumatic birth, hospital stay, struggles with breastfeeding, lack of sleep, etc... etc... not sure what is normal and when to start worrying about possible pnd.
