This must be our 100th thread.

Possibly.

hi everyone, just scanned the last bits again so I'm sure i've missed the important bits, but I'm sorry I just can't keep up here!

Muppets, I had a LOT of water with ds, the birth started with my waters breaking which started as a trickle at first then after a few hours was an uncontrollable flood. I remember sitting on the toilet in the birth room (behind a curtain) apologising to the doctor who was waiting ot examine me as the flow wouldn't stop enough for me to get off the toilet!

Bethoo, sorry to hear about your troubles. Be heartened that at 35 weeks the baby shouldn't have any problems, maybe it will be a little small. It maybe worth taking a look at the neo-natologie unit just in case the baby does need to spend time there under observation.

Callie, I really feel from my heart for you. But it sounds as if you are doing fantastically well and Jordi too, he has had a difficult start but sounds as if he is perfect! If you are worried about milk supply etc. start a thread on the breast/bottle feeding, you will get loads of tips to help you. There is a wonderful twin mum (also a duola) called Marslady who I know will be able to give you really good advice and support, if you start a thread let me know and I will point her in your direction.

As for me, 33 weeks now and I am starting to struggle more and more, if I have a good day and am busy, the next day I can't move and have to spend the day doing absolutely nothing. Its a day like that today, so I am now off back to bed! Have started sorting out baby clothes and am also going to pack a hospital bag for me and overnight bag for ds in the next few days.

Lots of love to everyone else !

Leoladyofleisure · 23/01/2007 12:06

Bethoo, doh, I read that you were going to have the baby at 35 weeks!!! Sorry... reread and next scan is at 35 weeks!!!! !

bethoo · 23/01/2007 12:12

nervous about the scan really as get paraniod that they may pick up something that they dod not before! and also nice to be able to see him sooner. shame they will not give any more scan pictures out!

AmieR · 23/01/2007 12:20

Bethoo - hope all goes well, my EDD is 1 March, but could be 14 Feb, I have no idea, and nor do they.. should be a fun month I have! They've told me to be on the stand by from the 14th of Feb to the 14th of March.

Yeah.. its a really attractive phase we're in at the moment... lol

Moss - THE EGG its my one "pointless" purchase but.. kinda groovy!

Leoladyofleisure · 23/01/2007 12:21

Bethoo, I get as nervous as hell before all my scans so I feel for you. When is the scan? I had my last one last Thursday and tbh unless you can get a good profile or face picture there isn't much worth printing out any more as the babies are quite big by this time. So your scan is next week?

foxabout2pop · 23/01/2007 12:21

Bethoo - I had a 36 week scan with DD as we weren't sure whether my waters had broken. They didn't let me see it and gave me no photo - but they said "ooohh she's got very chubby cheeks"!

I was intrigude and when whe was born, she did have big chubby cheeks

Leoladyofleisure · 23/01/2007 12:23

They didn't let you see it ? Why the hell not? Its your baby, your scan, your right isn't it?

sazzybee · 23/01/2007 12:26

bethoo

I had an unexpected scan yesterday (33 wks) because of the polywhatsit. It was nice looking at him again but I didn't get any pictures - he barely fit on the screen.

Although it was an anxious time, it was reassuring to see that all his organs etc were working fine. Hope it's the same for you

Jaysecond · 23/01/2007 12:35

fox lol@ your choccie breakfast! I had some porridge with DD this morning, but have just got back from ASDA (Where i spent too much money on stuff i thought i needed only to find out i forgot to buy the stuff i actually did need.....doh!) and i have just had a huge glass of milk and TWO choc chunk muffins, freshly baked and all soft and squidgey yum yum!!

bethoo i am the same, i have to have a 36 week scan (12 feb) to check on position, and i have thought about whether they will see something they didnt before, but its all a bit of paranoia i guess, i am sure we will be fine and dandy!! Fox thats a bit unfair of them not letting you see yur baby, i mean if they dont give out pics , well you can live with that, but not to see it on the screen thats down right bad manners!

Leo i am with you on the, - one day i am fine and doing lots and the next day i can hardly move as a result, we just jave to try and listen to our bodies and not do too much on those good days!

Boo i too am relishing the cold, i feel like a mobile radiator at the moment, i never wear a coat out and always wear slip on shoes (nothing to do with not being able to bend over to put boots on )

I dont get antenatel classes as such, its a cut back thing as i am second time round mum, i just get one refresher session which is two hrs, i think its the 20th of Feb, so very of those having them at the mo. Even though when i had them the first time round i didnt get thatmuch from them, i still enjoyed giong to meet everyone else and it made it feel more 'real' iykwim!

foxabout2pop · 23/01/2007 12:52

Well they didn't exactly refuse.

What happened was that I'd gone in for a check up as I had a leak and thought my waters might have broken.

They insisted on keeping me in overnight. (bloody awful - it was baking hot and I had this mad nutter woman in the bed next to me groaning all night so got no sleep. Next morning she turned her TV on full blast and I had to tell her to put her headphones on). Next day I had to wait all day for a scan. I was so desperate to get out of there that when they did the scan and described DD's chubby cheeks I wasn't really concentrating. If I'd insisted I'm sure they'd have turned the screen round.

I just wanted out of there though - felt as though I was imprisoned!!! I hate Kingston Hospital

Piffle · 23/01/2007 13:04

I've got an EGG too, looks like a perfectly practical gadget IMO and I'm on baby no 3 and resist most gadgets
Just checking in, feel bit woosy today so cannot sit long.
Got Ante natal 32 wk appt this afternoon and I get another growth scan (due to dd's genetic syndrome they keep close eye) so as he measured 2 wks over last time (3 wks ago) will be interesting to see the difference. He is currently kicking the keyboard pull out table!!!
Right must dahs and get head down before I faint!
Arrrghh

Jaysecond · 23/01/2007 13:06

ahhh Kingston. I moved from Esher last September, and used to go shopping in Kingston upon thames, it was a lovely place. Never had to deal with hospital though, i had DD at Chertsey.

Well thats fair enough then i guess, if you wanted out and asap, then i can imagine the last thing you wanted was to peer over a scan, especially when you were going to see her a few weeks later, i forgive them!

foxabout2pop · 23/01/2007 13:08

Piffle, hope you are Ok

Lie down and put your feet up high

muppetisacat · 23/01/2007 13:09

Moss - are you not able to do handstands then?

Ooooohhhh - very jealous of you with your choccie muffin Jay - might just have to pop out and get some later.... am making do with wine gums.

Have just been scared off trying to do too much to turn the baby as another mother at school mentioned some horror story to me about a woman who turned her baby and there was an accident with the cord. I didn't fancy diving down to the deep end of the pool anyway... I mean seriously... who thinks these things up!

Bethoo - how do you test your blood sugar - do you have some sort of home testing kit?

Had a real bizarre dream last night... dreamt I had a c-section but when they stitched me up they stitched up both front and back passages too! It was impossible to go to the toilet... woke up desperate for a wee!

Leoladyofleisure · 23/01/2007 13:16

Piffle, I hope the scan goes well today!

Me too feeling woosy, but also don't feel that good when I lie down. Could be something to do with the 4 (swiss style) donuts I had for breakfast this morning !

AmieR · 23/01/2007 13:18

DH and I, uptill today have had the egg in our room, and i provide updates every so often! yrs, I'm that sad

I realise I should probably have it all sorted already, but am really umming and ahhing about what type of bag is best for my hospital bag.. DH suggested my old school rucksack! Iw as thinking more of big travel rucksack or actually getting the samsonite suitcase a dust off! LOL any adivce would be greatly appreciated!

Muppet that's scary, I have one weird dream where rather than LO developing in my womb I nurtured them in a Tesco carrier back under my jumper... my latest one was DH divorcing me via text and rather than getting upset, I texted him back, correcting his typos! LOL

3rdTriMossTer · 23/01/2007 13:20

Muppet - soumersaults, parallel bars, backflips yes, obviously, as I am one very active lady, but for some reason not handstands! Strange that!

Piffle are you all right? Why are you feeling faint is your bp low or summat?

Those eggs look brill I want one now!

Dh's cob on was doing my head in so I sent him an email with the lyrics of "mardy bum" in it.

He just wrote back:

"I admit my reaction may have been slightly and I repeat, slightly, over the top."

Good grief that almost, and I repeat almost, sounds like an apology!

foxabout2pop · 23/01/2007 13:26

I had a dream the other night that someone was trying to make love to me (that bit was OK actually) but maggots kept wriggling out from my mouth and my fango and dropping onto the floor.

Can someone analyse this for me pleeeeze?

bethoo · 23/01/2007 13:30

Leolady - my scan is on monday.
Muppet - i have to prick my finger and let the blood on a strip which goes into a little machine and reads the glucose and then i put it into a little book. since i started yesterday readings have been norm but just had a can of Dr Pepper so will be interesting to see results in 2 hours!
i have not even started to do my labour bag yet even though according to my mw i should have started! i take it you cannot take mobile phones as on the sheet it says take change for payphones etc, it seems as if everything is coin operated even hte telly! hope it has Sky or is that wishful thinking!!!

muppetisacat · 23/01/2007 13:31

Foxy... you are clearly eating too much chocolate at breakfast...

bethoo · 23/01/2007 13:31

Fox - at least you got the sex part! in my dreams when it is starting to get juicy i wake up either alarm clock r needing the toilet! how unfair is that! especially as my sex life is kind of non existant at the mo!

sexkittyinwaiting · 23/01/2007 13:41

Mossy, i would try and resell it but I can't be arsed ,I buy quite alot but haven't set up the selling bit yet. It's tricky to get to a post office from here. They have al been shut down and the ones that are open have no parking nearby.

3rdTriMossTer · 23/01/2007 13:41

Foxy, you been going fishing recently?

I had a horrible dream last night, I dreamed that a cat came into our front garden (we don't have a front garden but I did in the dream) but that I picked it up by the tail and threw it into the neigbours' house! And then it kept coming back for me to stroke it, and I kept being awful to it and hitting it!

I woke up and felt really crappy, I had to break out a load of treats from the treat cupboard, as well as some cheese, for our rl cat to assuage my guilt! And just to make sure, even though there hadn't been a dog in the dream, I gave them some extra food for brekkie.

Leoladyofleisure · 23/01/2007 13:47

LOL at your dreams!!!!
I just seem to have sex ones, but probably because pregnancy makes me very horny and we are abstaining at the moment because I am getting lots of very strong bh contractions and don't want to risk starting anything quite yet!

Bethoo, there is no restriction on mobile phones in my hospital.
And i wouldn't worry too much about a hospital bag yet! If everything is prepared it just makes the time drag and it seems early to me. I am thinking about it because I also have to organise something for ds, twins are likely to come a bit earlier (and the bh contractions are making me a bit nervous) and if something starts we have to get to the hospital ASAP. With ds I packed it after my waters broke before going to the hospital.

foxabout2pop · 23/01/2007 14:16

kitty - why don't you put it up for sale on mumsnet? Buyer collects? It won't cost you anything and will be relatively hassle free...
