Possibly.

I'm sitting here munching a gaviscon tablet after having salmon curry for dinner, actually it doesn't matter what I eat I still get heartburn

Dolly I never really get thrush luckily but have heard that live natural yoghurt is really helpfull both applied and if you eat it. I found live yoghurt helpfull with the childrens excema too!

Good point about the ruined mattress, suppose will have to put up with a plastic sheet closer in. Though last two labours the waters only broke with the arrival of baby and I'm hoping that will happen this time too because I have a feeling it makes labour less painful...

Rosylily · 19/01/2007 22:10

Oh yeah Kitty that stuff you suggest sounds better.

DollyPopsOut · 19/01/2007 22:40

Thanks for the info Kitty, I think you've mentioned that before - Im definitely going to get some! Yoguhurt will help til it arrives XXXXX

eidsvold · 19/01/2007 23:32

30 weeks yesterday - 10 to go - fed up with being fat and hot now.... although today is a little cooler - around 28 degrees....

Knackered as we had two little girls who would not go to sleep last night, dd1 finally went off after 11pm YET they were awake by 7.30ish..... hopefully they have a big nap this afternoon.

Just been looking at pics. Friend had a little boy earlier in the week - he looks so tiny. He was 7lb 14oz - so about average but he just looks sooo small, gorgeous though.

3rdTriMossTer · 20/01/2007 08:25

Dolly glad your dd is better but sorry you've now picked it up, it's horrible when you're ill and your pregnant and you can't even take any lemsip or decongestants, so I believe. If I lived close I'd come round and make you some hot vimto so here is a jug of the stuff to keep you going.

But what do you mean, you have been shafted in work?

Lunar glad you got back okay, they really do work you so hard don't they it seems very mean of them. Maybe when you are on your maternity leave they'll realise how much they miss you and be a bit nicer when you come back.

Morning to everyone else as well hope everyone has a good weekend!!

Diva thanks for the info on the head engaging I'll look forward to breathing again properly!!

Well dh and I went for our meal last night, it was lovely to get out the house. The starter (I can't spell that other word that sounds like orderves) was great but the main meal was not too nice. The restaurant used to be the best in St Helens (not that much of a claim I know but still!) but it seems to have gone downhill a bit. And dh is a glass half empty kind of person so I had to really ask him not to keep going on about it and to try to see the positive side, he just about managed to pull it back from getting a right sulk on him!

So all in all, from my pov, it was still a nice night out.

Anyway, as per usual I'm trying to watch UK Gold whilst waiting for my driving lesson... today is going to be another day with dh and mil doing the nursery and me doing all the stuff round the house... it's like groundhog day every Sat in the msmoss houshold!!!!

foxabout2pop · 20/01/2007 08:29

Hi everyone

DH woke me again at 5.45am this morning getting up for work. Slap round the head for him when he gets home tonight...

Dolly - I can't even wear jeans as I always get thrush if my fango can't breath. In fact so does DD so I have to limited the use of tights too for both of us to about 2 days a week. I tend to wear looser cotton trousers or long skirts with boots and just cotton panties underneath (i.e. no tights if I can get away with it).

Cranberry juice also seems to take the sting out when peeing if you have thrush, making it slightly less painful/irritating/hot.

I'm cross about work too - couple of attempts to shaft me. People seem to think that because you are PG they can just ride roughshod over you in the last few weeks as you "won't be around" much longer anyway. Find myself waking at 2am for a pee and then can't get back to sleep as so cross about work

Lunar - you do have a demanding job. Travelling for work is great, but very demanding when you're PG and tired - well I find it tiring but you're probably coping a lot better than I am atm .

Who got evicted then? Can't be arsed turning on the TV to check. Might dip into BBC News website in a mo'>

Think I am 33+6 today but lost the plot

foxabout2pop · 20/01/2007 08:32

eh? how did that happen?

Mossy - SNAP!!

What time is your lesson?

3rdTriMossTer · 20/01/2007 08:42

Nine o'clock, it's good in a way, means that it's not too busy on the roads.

Given that I still can't seem to turn out of a junction properly, having lots of other cars around just makes me even more nervous. I do feel ridiculously old to be learning to drive, when I see other instructor cars on the roads all the pupils are in their teens!

It is horrible when your colleagues try to shaft you. The place I work it's par for the course; now they've changed my role it happens a bit less (there's now no point trying to shaft me) but it is quite stressful.

I also think a lot of people just assume you're not going to go back.

Well, in my case they're right but of course I'm not going to say that am I?

LunarSea · 20/01/2007 08:44

fox - in some ways the travelling can be easier than the normal work ... not having to think too much when on the motroway/train, staying in hotels so you don't have to cook/get an uninterrupted lie-in/time to read the papers, etc. If only I didn't get back and still have to do the work I'd have had to do if wasn't for the travelling IYSWIM.

I sent work a detailed timetable the other day - after x date I'm not doing y sort of stuff. And told them that from the beginning of March I want to be effectively part time (I've got last years holiday still to take!) - i.e I'll still be around to sort out anything they get stuck on, but they need someone in place to handle the routine stuff by then. They haven't exactly agreed to it, but then they haven't said no either.

foxabout2pop · 20/01/2007 08:58

Lunar - am starting to you now - all that staying in hotels etc. It can be very theraputic not being in the office as well!

I think your bosses will get a bit of a shock when you go as they seem to depend on you a lot.

Moss - enjoy your lesson - hope its not too traumatic for the local residents LOL!! [wink}

LunarSea · 20/01/2007 09:31

fox - it's not all fun. Staying in hotels on your own, with nobody to talk to, when you can't even have a drink, can be pretty boring.

muppetisacat · 20/01/2007 10:37

Diva - re: nipple stimulation! It basically stimulates the old oxytocin which then contracts your uterus.

There are quite a few do's and don'ts with it such as
DONT stimulate one side for longer than 5 mins at a time - wait 10 to 20 mins then to see what happens...
ONLY stimulate one side at a time
DONT do it when you're actually having a contraction
DONT do it when contractions are like 3 mins apart and you're established strong labour

Basically it can work so strongly in some women (I think me included) that it has been likened to the overuse or misuse of pitocin (the artificial drug they give you to induce you)... this is why I say use the technique cautiously.

Needless to say I only learned all this recently whilst talking to my current mw. Had i known all this with my first 2 I probably wouldn't have been so gung-ho about it and saved myself lots of money on mattresses!

33 weeks (boy)

3rdTriMossTer · 20/01/2007 10:50

Well, my lesson wasn't too bad but I couldn't really think too straight, I'm a bit worried 'cos my cat is off his food and acting all strange, dh says if I'm like this over the cat he dreads what I'll ever do if lo gets ill.

I'm sure he'll be okay, but it's just not like him, he's normally a greedy little animal and would snatch the food out of your fingers if you let him! And he's being quite nice and cuddly and that's very out of character.

Nipple tweaking just makes me think of I'm Alan Partrige. "Do you like that? Shall I move onto the other one? Shall I go faster or maintain the same speed?"

Lunar your job sounds very difficult and heavy going. I hope they pay you a fortune!!

divastrop · 20/01/2007 12:31

moss-our cat is being weird, she keeps washing dd2 and shes been rubbing herself round dp's pc.maybe theres a storm brewing

i woke up with swollen fingers and face, now my head is hurting, but im fighting off a cold atm so who knows.i never know whether to ring the mw or not,i dont like to be a pain in the bum or drag all the way to the hospial only to be told my bp is 110/70 or something and have them look at me like they think im a lying attention seeker.

maybe my bp goes up every weekend.it wouldnt suprise me.

hope everybody's ok.are we all losing the plot, now?i dont even know what day it is half the time.

32+3..7 weeks 4 days to go?

3rdTriMossTer · 20/01/2007 12:58

I had heard about cats being able to predict the weather (no I am not imagining a catty Sian Lloyd pointing to different parts of the UK with her paws on the weathermap) like earthquakes and things, but the nearest ours gets is by meowing really loudly when it's raining, like it's our fault and we made it rain!

Sorry you're not feeling so well Diva if it were me I would probably ring the mw but I know what you mean about feeing paranoid they're gonna think you're a hypochondriac!

Rosylily · 20/01/2007 13:04

I'm totally losing the plot. My cot arrived this morning, and stubbornly determined to put it together straight away, I misread simple instructions and with the help of nonchalent hungry teenager and being jumped upon by two little ones I managed to bend one of the screws, lose my temper and throw a wobbler and eventually give up.

I'm in foul form!

Moss I was about 30 when I passed my test. You'll feel great once you have that under your belt!

Rosylily · 20/01/2007 13:07

Yeah I really think she looks like a cat too!

Diva could you just ring the mw first and see what she says?

sexkittyinwaiting · 20/01/2007 13:50

Diva, you should contact someone, especially with the swelling. It doesn't matter what they think does it, pre eclampsia/high blood pressure is serious. It's a pity they can't loan you a blood pressure monitor.
DD3 has impetigo AGAIN grr, off to get more oils and tinctures and me some spa tone.

3rdTriMossTer · 20/01/2007 14:12

Rosy I hope I'll pass while I'm thirty; I turn thirty in April so I have just over a year!

Right I need to go into town now and get some photos that Boots have developed, I may get my hair cut while I'm there, there's a lovely salon that does a really decent cut for £7 (dry cut) so it's not too expensive...

foxabout2pop · 20/01/2007 15:02

Diva I think you should get those swelling checked out too - give them a call

Mossy glad your lesson went OK. BTW my sister was about 40 when she passed her test.

Rosy - oooh I hate putting furniture together. Is DH around?

Kitty - DS has imeptigo again too what do you use on your DD's? DS seems to get it in winter when he's run down - does it stay in the system like some viruses?

LunarSea · 20/01/2007 15:27

Divs - do you have a Lloyds pharmacy near you? They're doing blood pressure monitors for £9.99 - might help you to relax a bit if you could check it yourself and know that it was still normal.

Booboobedoo · 20/01/2007 15:51

Hi everyone. Exhausted today. Got precisely 0 hours sleep last night: just lay there with everything whirling round my head. Had to teach this morning, and felt like a zombie. Then I went to pick up my ebay-purchased rocking chair, which is lovely. (got a pine one for £33).

We're off to the outlaws' tomorrow to pick up the cot and SIL's old Moses basket. DH is busy stripping the wallpaper in baby's room ready for the plasterer next week, so we're on our way!

Sorry you're poorly Dolly. I do a good leek and potato soup if you fancy a bowl!

Sorry you've swollen up Diva - may be you should call the MW. My fingers have swollen up today - had to take my wedding ring off. It's the first time it's happened, so I'm just going to keep an eye on it for now. Got an antenatal appt on Friday anyway.

Hope your cat's ok MsMoss! I treat my dog like my baby too. Think it'll change when our real babies arrive.

Muppet: I didn't realise nipple-stimulation was supposed to be so effective! I tend to be a bit cynical about these old wives tales, but that one sounds like it's worth a go.

Lunar: I hate staying in hotels on my own too. I expect I'd like a spa weekend on my own, but never been able to afford one of those. Horrible beige rooms that smell of old fags and have revoltingly over-priced mini-bars. It's enough to drive you to porn.

EDD 3/3
33+6 (you were right foxy!)

foxabout2pop · 20/01/2007 15:59

Hi Boo - the whole concept of porn has become strangley attractive lately. As I can't do it myself I quite like the idea of watching younger thinner people doing it LOL!!! No, I think it would make me feel even worse actually

Muppet - oh I forgot about the nipple stimulation debate. What do you recommend (apart from making sure your lying on a plastic sheet) Do you need to do it for 5 minutes then and think of Alan Partridge?

foxabout2pop · 20/01/2007 16:01

ps are there any others on here with placenta previa?

I think my previous previa buddy has now been "cured" - am I all alone?

BooBuddy - sorry you dodn't get much sleep last night - you must feel absolutely shattered
