Wow! Thread number three.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thinking of you wrungout.

Bolly I always get that when pregnant. It has to be a symptom!

Pregnancy is one constant worry Shared but you should be at the stage where you are starting to feel better so try to remember that when you are anxious.

I am in hibination today. Too spotty and itchy to venture out very far and I am hoping it is pregnancy related as I managed to have a huge overnight worry that I had chickenpox or something similar.

FuzzyOwl · 22/04/2016 10:48

Are you able to chase up a scan date Fedup?

likeawestern · 22/04/2016 10:58

Wrungout thinking of you. Glad you have a scan booked and I hope everything is ok.

Bollywood I'm the same too, it's progesterone apparently.

FuzzyO I'm spotty too. Dh says it's all the a&l crisps I'm eating but I don't think that can be the case at all. Face, chest, back and arms. Skin is very greasy too. Oh the glamour.

FuzzyOwl · 22/04/2016 11:13

My diet is generally terrible likea but you wouldn't know if from my complexion apart from when pregnant (or coming off contraception) so it has to be hormonal for me. At the moment it is just my face, chest and shoulders but seems to be spreading at an alarming rate so I am expecting it to be down to my toes by evening! My skin and hair is horrifically greasy as well which is extra attractive since I need to dye my hair asap.

coppergrey · 22/04/2016 11:39

Solidarity, Fuzzy - I'm one massive grease ball except the ends of my hair which are dry as a bone. Just caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I look dreadful!

fuzzywuzzy · 22/04/2016 11:51

Bolly me too, in fact DP says I snore Shock that combined with the horrible white spots I have on my face I'm so attractive currently.

I think actually my main symptom is higher body temp, DP sleeps right at the edge of the bed form me as I'm really warm, I wake up horrible and sweaty every single morning. I used to be ice cold pre-pregnancy, I would warm my feet on DP.

I got my booking in appointment finally, it's on the 5th of May and twelve week scan date is end of that month. The letter is very detailed of requirements apparently they will take bloods same day as the booking in appointment, then there's more bloods after the scan, why? There wasn't so much blood work when I had my older two (admittedly over a decade ago!).

So looking forward to the weekend, I am knackered.

FuzzyOwl · 22/04/2016 12:04

Sorry to hear you are the same copper but nice to have some understanding and solidarity! I have decided to get my hair cut and get several inches of horrible ends cut off in the hope it will make it look a bit better.

Oh fuzzyw I am another ice cold person and have had a few occasions where I have warmed up a bit. I remember it happening last pregnancy as well although thankfully not to the extreme you seem to be suffering from.

Bollyroo · 22/04/2016 13:07

Well aren't we all attractive at the moment?! I've got a bunch of those spots on my neck. They feel enormous but DP says they aren't.

So I got my call from the midwife who is trying to book me into the birthing centre rather than the hospital. Fingers crossed. She sounded really lovely so feeling very positive about things despite only being on the waiting list. Also a friend of mine just had her baby at the same place and is raving about it. Quite exciting!

Did some gentle yoga and had a quick swim earlier which was fantastic but was so utterly knackered afterwards I almost didn't make it home! Feel great for doing something physical at last though as I really haven't had any energy this week. How are other people doing on the exercise front?

coppergrey · 22/04/2016 13:27

That sounds great, Bolly - fingers crossed for you!

I'm still doing one personal training session a week, but it does totally wipe me out. It's my last one next week then I'm on holiday for a bit, and after that I think I'll see how I get on. The PT sessions are very tiring but I do feel good for doing them, so might continue on if I can!

RuskBaby · 22/04/2016 13:29

The bloods at the 12 week scan are so they can do a combined risk for abnormalities

RuskBaby · 22/04/2016 13:31

I looked in the mirror earlier and gave myself a fright!
Seriously hats off to you all with children already or strenuous jobs, I don't know how you are all doing it! I have no energy at all most days and the constant nausea has developed into sickness sporadically. Anyone know when we bloom? Grin

fuzzywuzzy · 22/04/2016 13:35

Thanks Rusk, what are the bloods at the booking in scan for?

I swear when I had my older DC there was only one set of bloods and then all done, I have needle phobia it gets really stressful for me to have bloods done :(

I have not been exercising at all, I have been walking up to McD (yes I shall prolly get kicked out of MNet now), I'm really craving the fish burgers its the tartare sauce I think! This may also explain why I no loner fit into any pre-pregnancy bottoms Hmm

coppergrey · 22/04/2016 13:38

I'm really into double cheeseburgers, fuzzywuzzy! If I had a McDs in walking distance it would be VERY dangerous indeed.

RuskBaby · 22/04/2016 13:49

The booking in bloods are to test for infections such as hiv, can't remember the others and check iron levels but midwife said its so they can treat if needs be. My veins are stupidly small and hide so I always have issues - they had to call in reinforcements at my booking in appointment. I feel for you with a phobia - I had one before but bizarrely forced myself to donate blood and it's nowhere near as bad now - they are professionals at getting into your veins.
The McD's sounds great!

FuzzyOwl · 22/04/2016 14:31

Luckily my midwife sent me to a nearby hospital for my booking bloods, and I got the ones for the combined testing done at the same time. I don't usually mind having blood tests just as well as I have had loads of them but this one was quite sore. Apart from a whooping cough vaccine, I shouldn't need any other needles being stuck in me for a few months now.

fuzzywuzzy · 22/04/2016 14:59

If that's an option I'll ask. Purleease combine the bloods.

Last time I had a blood test I actually went into a fit, it was terrifying as I was alone and they kept telling me I had to go into A&E and I was like but I need to pick my kids up from school. Was horrible.
I know I'm pathetic.

FuzzyOwl · 22/04/2016 15:09

Oh fuzzyw sending lots of supportive vibes your way. Check with the midwife as to whether you need to have all the tests. I am sure it will be recommended regardless but it won't be compulsory and some of them you can do without - your blood group must already be known from your last pregnancy and whether you are still immune to rubella is so you can be vaccinated after the pregnancy.

RuskBaby · 22/04/2016 15:23

I agree, that's dreadful for you and they must have a way to combine so you don't have the added worry

onthemetro · 22/04/2016 15:53

I had my booking in appointment today - midwife was lovely! I cried when she told me about the scans and I told her how worried I am about them and she did a great job of reassuring me.

No bloods taken for me today, instead they do them all at the scan. I hope you can get them all done at once fuzzy, otherwise maybe you could say no to some of them?

I have a scan date - 13th May... Friday 13th! Grin

Fedupithink · 22/04/2016 16:42

I have a huge needle phobia too Fuzzy I had one set done at booking in and then I've opted for the combined testing so I'll have them again then.

I did ask the midwife about how many times they need to do it and she said as long as you stay low-risk that's it until one final set at 28 weeks so 3 in total.

I've FINALLY got my scan letter!! It's Thursday 5th May at 2.30pm! I should be 12+4 by then. Pleased to have the next milestone but already nervous!

Fedupithink · 22/04/2016 16:52

I haven't managed to any exercise outside of a few dog walks since I found out Bolly I feel so guilty but the midwife said its fine to resume at 12 weeks or so as I was exercising before.

It's only the past couple of days I've even thought about it really but hoping to go for a swim tomorrow morning which I'm looking forward to.

My back is really sore (anyone else's?) so hoping it will help me stretch it out.

likeawestern · 22/04/2016 17:09

Fedup I'm really struggling with my back - GP referred me to a women's health physio today cause 11 weeks is too early to be in this much pain.

fuzzywuzzy · 22/04/2016 17:28

Likea can you wear a back support belt till you get seen by the physio?

Fedupithink · 22/04/2016 17:30

Oh that doesn't sound great Western Did they say what they thought it was? Do you have to wait a long time to be seen?

I assumed it was just the relaxin hormone as I'm sure I read somewhere that it is already kicking in and making joints looser etc. I really hope it's nothing too serious for both of us!

Canters15 · 22/04/2016 17:39

Hello all! Re bloods: my midwife wasn't able to get mine so need to go up to the hospital. Meant to go today but forgot! Monday will be my day.

Re food: the hunger is here. I am starving and eating everything in sight.

Re tummy: I have started to look pretty big in the evenings now. Who is in mat clothes yet? I bought some bigger jeans today but think in a couple of weeks I will be browsing the maternity sections.

Re maccy d's: I hate it normally but am craving like mad. Disgusted by self.

Hope all OK, sorry for those feeling crappy today. This pregnancy business isn't easy!
