Good morning ladies,

I hope everyone is feeling good. I've seen what people have been buying, I've been pretty bad at buying loads of stuff already, quite a few clothes, pushchair, car seat and base, nursery furniture, and we got a highchair as a gift from a family member - it's usable from birth. I'm trying not to buy the remaining things until August/September now but wanted to spread out some of the costs.

Im working from home so I'm planning on starting my maternity leave in my due date but with probably about 5 days worth of leave in before then, just trying to stretch out my maternity leave. I'm planning on taking 10 months off after the birth.

Is anyone else exhausted at the moment? I feel like a zombie most days!

Kariana · 18/06/2016 09:53

How far along are you now Blue? I was exhausted a couple of weeks ago but it seems to be passing now, although I'm definitely sleeping for longer at night (and seem to have stopped waking up constantly which has probably helped). I spent a load on baby clothes yesterday but still haven't got anything else yet. I think I need to do a baby clothes inventory already - I've probably bought all the same thing!

Afreshstartplease · 18/06/2016 09:56

Blue I've bought quite a lot too, I have three DC already so by August I like to be sorting Christmas presents so it has been good to get the bigger purchases out of the way for me!

And yes to the exhaustion! 22+3 today. Keep getting backlogged massively with housework which is shit because I've got things I want to be doing to the house but can't when there are stacks of pots and a grubby bathroom that need to be done first!

EnoughAlready999 · 18/06/2016 21:01

I'm exhausted too. Only seemed to have a couple of weeks where my energy returned at 14/15 weeks. My daughter is quite an early riser so even on the weekend I am lucky to still be in bed after 8. She dragged me out for a jog today! I think it did me good though.

I have had a bit of pain at the bottom my spine (coccyx?) and also around pubic bone so hope it's not SPD. I got up last night off the sofa and it was numb around the coccyx/top of bum area. I probably sit badly which doesn't help.

I'm a little worried about baby's movements, not really felt much since Thursday and had awful tummy/back ache on Tue and Wed evening. Struggled through cooking and serving dinner then went upstairs to lie down. Felt better on Thursday though. Can't face going to A&E on a Sat night.

Afreshstartplease · 18/06/2016 21:13

Enough, if your worried please do get checked out

EnoughAlready999 · 18/06/2016 21:25

It's ok, went for another lie down and gave my stomach a prod and have had a few proper movements now :-)

She's probably a lazy thing like me!

Afreshstartplease · 18/06/2016 21:31

Just please say you will go if at all worried!

Kariana · 19/06/2016 19:04

Enough you sound like you're having a similar experience to me. I've had pain at the bottom of my spine since first trimester but it's definitely due to sitting down too much (when I felt so ill in the earlier weeks) and not sitting brilliantly anyway. At one point getting in and out of bed and up and down off a chair was agony. It's definitely eased now I'm feeling better and able to be more active but it soon plays up if I sit down too much again.

I've got fewer movements and stomach pains today but I've had other days like this and then all has been fine so I'm doing my best not to worry. I'm taking reassurance from the few kicks I've felt and also from knowing that he's definitely moved down and snuggled against my bladder again, which always coincides with this feeling. I feel like I've spent more time in the bathroom than out of it today!

Nickname1980 · 19/06/2016 22:37

Totally different subject, but is anyone swollen?

My legs and face are starting to swell. I'm a bit concerned it's only going to get worse as there's a long way to go yet! Is there anything you can do to stop it?

Blueskygirl30 · 20/06/2016 08:57

I'm 24+3 today, I went out for a big group meal on Saturday night, it wasn't a late night by any means but I still had an hour long nap yesterday arvo as I was exhausted!

I've started gettin indigestion and back ache and I get pain in my bum cheek, I've had it since the first trimester but it comes and goes. Seems to be more frequent now though, especially when I've done a work out dvd.

Nickname my feet have started to swell a little I think, it's not super noticeable, but my shoes are definitely a bit tighter. I think ill need to get some larger trainers soonish. Ones without laces, I'm already finding it hard to bend down and do up laces!!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 20/06/2016 12:56

Nickname, I think a certain amount of swelling in pregnancy is normal and unavoidable but if you get excessive swelling do get yourself checked out as it can be a sign of preeclampsia.

Afreshstartplease · 20/06/2016 18:08

22+5 here!

No swelling to report but horrendous heartburn and reflux. Disgusting. It happens regardless of how careful I am with food so I'm eating what ever I please.

Spd continuing to get worse, now struggling more and more when getting out of car/off the bed - must chase up my physio appointment

EnoughAlready999 · 21/06/2016 22:14

I had another tummy ache today - all over from public bone up to and including chest/boobs - what is that?! The only way I feel better is by lying down and having something sweet - I don't have a sweet tooth but DD knows it helps so gave me some of her Minstrels the sweetie.

I have had a lot of wind! As soon as I get up and then all day! I do eat very quickly probably before I've chewed my food enough - could this cause it?

Bluecarrot · 21/06/2016 22:31

Digestion slows in pregnancy so your body can absorb as much nutrition as possible from the food, and this can cUse excess wind.
Def chewing more and consider a probiotic. Really helped me.

Kariana · 22/06/2016 21:30

Chewing more and eating more slowly will definitely help with the wind Enough.

Sorry to hear you're still struggling Fresh. I met up with a friend the other day and she swore by bouncing on a birthing ball to help SPD. She said hers nearly went once she started doing it regularly. Have you ever tried it? I'm wondering if it's worth investing. I'm not suffering yet but anything that might help prevent it would be good.

Afreshstartplease · 22/06/2016 21:48

I've only tried to use a ball once, and I couldn't do it. My legs are so short Sad I was just falling off

Kariana · 23/06/2016 07:39

Oh no! I think I'd probably have a similar problem! I have a terrible sense of balance as well so it probably wouldn't work out well, would give my husband a good laugh though.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 23/06/2016 07:52

Fresh, if you couldn't use the birth ball because your legs were too short you probably need a smaller one.

Afreshstartplease · 23/06/2016 18:24

They come in different sizes?

I was in hospital in labour when I tried and got so angry I nearly threw it at the midwife

BadlyWrittenPoem · 23/06/2016 21:10

When I bought mine there were two different sizes depending on your height and then it came with information on how big to inflate it according to how tall you are. I imagine the one in the hospital was just a random size.

Afreshstartplease · 24/06/2016 07:44

Think I'll look into this only thing is I'm trying to declutter and a big bloody ball is not going to help lol

23+2! 5 day until the 24 week mark!

Bluecarrot · 25/06/2016 02:34

Ball is def worth it! I used mine after did was born too as she was used to the motion and it Elle's a bit with muscle tone ( I had a cs so no proper exercise for a while). It deflates pretty small - shoebox size-ish so easy to store away for next time ( if there is one)

Afreshstartplease · 25/06/2016 06:52

Was decorating yesterday, feel like someone's been kicking my crotch with steel toe cap boots Sad

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 25/06/2016 07:46

25+1 today, feel crap. Up at 4 with leg cramp, DS up at 5 (it was too dark to sleep) gave up at 6.45 and got up.

Doing an NCT sale today so at least I get a break from the kids, dd2 is 2 and more than a bit difficult at the moment. Selling off all my boys clothes to make room for dd3!

Not got very far with the loft conversion had a few builders come round but no quotes yet, wondering after yesterday if we should hold onto our savings instead.
On the plus side have been feeling a bit better on the spd/veiny legs side but still waiting to get some energy.

Afreshstartplease · 25/06/2016 07:48

Have I started having leg cramps in the night about a week ago, bloody horrible aren't they!

I'm going to try and crack on with the decorating I know I should rest but I can't just leave it half done

23+3
