One good 20 week scan here! Confirmed baby is definitely a boy. They've decided not to put me consultant led for now which is good because our hospital is awfully slow and I wouldn't want to go there for every app!

20+6 today!

elliej83 · 07/06/2016 16:52

Tea girl I am also doing the same thing. Not finding out but desperately guessing!!

We have our 20 week scan tomorrow which I'm looking forward to :)

Kariana · 07/06/2016 18:34

Great news fraggle! I'm really pleased you got good news :)

Lillian how on earth have you kept it quiet so long. I've looked pregnant since about week 12 and I'm huge already!

I'm a sun lover so been really enjoying the hot weather. I hope it continues for a bit, although it's a bit too hot at night sometimes.

Kariana · 07/06/2016 20:17

Quick question, has anyone been playing music to their tummy or had someone talking to the bump close up? I ask because I've tried these things and baby makes no response that I can feel even though he's very wriggly the rest of the time. Everyone has told me music especially makes them very active but mine does nothing! Just wondered if this was normal?

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 07/06/2016 20:50

Hi Kariana, I've always played music to my bumps and read stories but never noticed any response inside, however, once my babies have been born I noticed they did respond to the sound of my voice and to familiar songs. I often play my pregnancy playlist to my littlest when she is cranky as it really calms her down and each child has a special song.
Had a private gender scan last night and found out I am having a little girl, so that makes one DS and 3 dd's!
22+ 3 today.

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 07/06/2016 23:00

How was the holiday Fresh? Welcome back and congrats on the scan.

EnoughAlready999 · 08/06/2016 09:51

I'm 21+3 now and can see the baby moving if I lie down still. Can anyone else?

Thanks for reminding me about music Kariana. I played my first DD
a rare Blur song (huge fan!) and I'm sure she recognised it when she was out. This time I think I'll go for Maggie May as I heard Rod Stewart play it live last night (wind carried from the outdoor venue in my city) and Blur also did a cover of it which I love too.

Bump's grown suddenly in last 10 days. Please watch your sugar consumption everyone, that programme about obesity last night said that eating too much will cause your baby to have more fat cells instead if muscle/nerve cells etc. Sorry not very accurately remembered by me but I think it explains why some women have such big babies. Luckily I have even less of a sweet tooth in the summer so don't mind.

Afreshstartplease · 08/06/2016 11:20

Havetobe you will have the opposite to me! I'll have 3 ds and 1 dd!

Holiday was good ty

I have been seeing movement for a couple of weeks now!

I accidentally bought a pram and carseat

Oops

LillianFullStop · 08/06/2016 14:29

kariana and figgle up until last week I've been fitting into my normal clothes. I always wear a blazer at work so hard to really get a sideways view. Lots of dark/black colours it hides your form. This week though the bump has come up quite a bit so I've been telling people now - by next week there is no point hiding behind a blazer esp since it's gotten so warm!

Also I work with mostly all men and I find they don't take too much notice of these things!!!

kariana we've bought some baby books and read the LO her first book for the first time last night. DH and I took turns reading so hopefully she gets used to the sound of our voices Smile

octoberbundle · 08/06/2016 16:19

Hi all! Been lurking but thought I'd say hi now. I'm 21weeks today with our first, incredibly excited right now.
What have people bought so far? Think I'm starting to go into preparation mode but the amount of stuff is overwhelming. Decided on a joolz pram, just need to choose between the day and geo, but apart from that I'm completely lost!
X

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 08/06/2016 16:37

Had scan this afternoon - everything is looking good and we're having a girl!

Hope everyone else is well.

elliej83 · 08/06/2016 16:45

Hi ladies had my scan today too. Lots of guessing on our part if we are having a girl or a boy but still dont officially know! Everything seems fine despite it being a wriggler!

Has anyone started buying things yet? How soon is too soon?

Afreshstartplease · 08/06/2016 17:52

Congrats on the scans

I've bought -

Pram
Carseat
Moses basket
Lots of clothes
Perfect prep machine
Bottles

Already have a cot and baby monitor from dd

I'm 21 weeks today

Kariana · 08/06/2016 18:42

Thanks for the responses, glad to hear others don't necessarily move as well. I was getting worried!

All I've bought is a few little clothes. Nothing else yet. We are moving house soon though so I think we will wait until that's done to buy the big things!

Fraggleface · 08/06/2016 19:53

So far I've bought... One tiny pair of sheep newborn booties! Oh, and a sheepskin blanket to line the cot. Much shopping to do... Grin

Has anyone else's belly button popped out?

climbingcheesecake · 08/06/2016 20:06

Hi all,
WE went on holiday and there was not a single mozzy so I think it must be too soon. It was lovely to have a break and relax.
Hope you are feeling better Clank, that sounds nasty.
Congrats to everyone who has had scans - I've lost count on the boy/girl ratio on this thread now but it seems about even.
Anyone else struggling with names. I had lots of girl names but not really liking many boys names.
What is an anterior placenta? It sounds very common. I think I must be lucky because I have felt movement and can see my belly moving sometimes enoughalready
I have bought nothing so far.

Kariana · 08/06/2016 21:50

Glad you enjoyed your holiday Climbing. We're struggling with names, there aren't many boys names I like and dh has very strange taste in boy names!

I really hope my belly button doesnt pop Fraggle, I hate the idea! Makes me feel really squeamish. I have to admit it's getting quite close though :(

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 08/06/2016 22:20

My belly button didn't pop with DS, and I'm hoping it doesn't this time - it makes me squeamish too!

We have the opposite problem - we had boys names agreed and can't agree on girls names. I suppose we have about 20 weeks to agree on something!

Fraggleface · 08/06/2016 22:25

My belly button is kind of half sticking out at the moment but it's progressing outwards quite rapidly. I think the baby is having a growth spurt as I have become enormous pretty much in the last few days.

Afreshstartplease · 08/06/2016 22:32

My belly button is well on its way out too, it's popped with each pregnancy. Doesn't bother me TBH!

Northernlight22 · 09/06/2016 07:41

This is the first week a lot of my team have seen me at work (I work from home a lot) so quite a few were suprised to find out as I didn't make any big announcement!

Figgygal · 09/06/2016 21:26

Mine didn't go out last time I doubt it will this time either.

We've still not bought anything really need to get to that Grin

jojomcq · 09/06/2016 23:06

Hi everyone, reading through the thread and thought I'd join in. I'm 19+5 and have my scan on Thursday. DH and I are in two minds about finding out the sex. Think we will flip a coin to decide.

naomijd19 · 10/06/2016 08:05

My sex scan is next Wednesday - can someone tell me if this is a nub on my scan photo please Grin? Xx

EnoughAlready999 · 10/06/2016 11:00
