So pleased for you mar. Was baby active on the scan? Glad they are doing a follow up - hopefully this is just for reassurance for you xxx

dats · 15/04/2016 21:47

Oh Mar only just caught up - you poor thing, how scary. So relieved they found a heartbeat, fingers crossed its just having a lazy couple of days and will be kicking about again soon.

BelOfTheBall79 · 15/04/2016 22:08

Mar so glad for you that hheyve found a heartbeat x

KayTee87 · 15/04/2016 22:15

Thank God there's a heartbeat Mar, haven't stopped thinking of you all day. I never really talk about this thread to my husband but I was talking about you earlier as I was so worried Thanks
Hope you get some big baby kicks tonight / this weekend.

SpeakNoWords · 15/04/2016 22:34

Ah, so glad about finding the heartbeat Mar. Hopefully you'll get lots of kicks over the weekend and then a more detailed check up on Monday.

Mar19901 · 15/04/2016 22:44

Thank u it has been such a hard day for me emotionally I suffered a stillbirth at 32 weeks and struggled to concieve this time round so today was emotionally draining Sad

Baby wasn't that active on scan took them a while for a heartbeat they said I'm carrying the baby quite low and the placenta is obstructing cervix the doctor seems positive it will correct itself as the pregnancy progresses but could explain reduced movements

Mar19901 · 15/04/2016 22:46

Really miss feeling my baby kick it was so reassuring to experience it every day Sad

Hope ur all ok x thank u all so much for ur kind words of support it means so much to me x

primarynoodle · 15/04/2016 23:22

Oh mar i cant imagine what must be going through your head.
I hope the doctor has reassured you a little - im sure if there was any immenent danger you would have been advised to deliver your little one tonight! Get a good nights sleep i bet you need it (and some imaginary Wine)

Mar19901 · 15/04/2016 23:33

Ah thank u primary x

Doctor was reassuring he said even though it was a difficult find the out come was a heart beat so I should keep that fresh in my mind x

Just can't help feeling naturally worried x

Got really bad cramping pains down my left thigh and lower back so not sure how I will get to sleep but just resting up now x

dats · 16/04/2016 00:02

You're probably all tensed up after your stressful day. Not at all surprised at how worried you are, especially after your previous loss - so sorry to hear about that.

But the doc is right - there's a heartbeat and it's totally possible that this is all a positioning thing.

Paracetamol and a hot water bottle for your back and leg? Hope you can get some peaceful rest xx

minieggaddict · 16/04/2016 00:31

Mat - thank god you got some reassurance. I didn't know whether to check or not before bed but glad I did to know you're ok.

Ladies, I had a catch up and a good giggle over your poo stories - as an act of Karma I've just had my own experience. Reminded me of dds birth :O So.... what's the quickest most effective remedy that I can purchase tomorrow? I'm thinking prune juice?

Just home from a surprise baby shower my mummy friends threw for me and another preggers friend. So thoughtful of them and I feel a bit overwhelmed.

Can't remember who asked but yes I saw the Portland prog. Its another world isn't it?!

Dowhatyoulove123 · 16/04/2016 06:54

Mar, great to hear they found the heartbeat for you and hopefully some big kicks are coming your way today..

I was told to keep the old Tummy working a high fibre cereal every morning should help prevent constipation - all bran/bran flakes etc should do the jobz

Cheery1 · 16/04/2016 07:31

Hi ladies - catching up a bit, missed rather a lot! Welcome all new ladies! Lovely to meet you x

Mar - so glad you got some good news and sounds like there are some good reasons why you're not feeling much. Still so stressful for you. Hope you managed to get some rest, sleep can make all the difference. Xx

I'm sorry if I'm not contributing much at mo - I've got a bonkers couple of weeks leading up to a festival I'm producing then I'll be all over this thread!

Great to hear all the poo updates, I was staying with a friend last week and think I blocked her loo after a particularly difficult movement Blush!

Happy weekend all
Mar - hope you start to feel some kicks and that gives some reassurance - sounds like you've had an anxious time of it, thinking of you xx

Cookiesandcoffee · 16/04/2016 09:19

Just catching up ..

Oh my goodness Mar what an awful awful day for you. I'm completely relieved that everything seems ok. What an incredibly worrying time. Get yourself lots of rest you must feel so tight and sore after all the tense/worrying. Thanks

mini it was me - I was shocked to my core! How they didn't want to spend their baby's first night with them?! And to 'not want to' hold them?! Madness. Wouldn't mind the afternoon tea though mind you!

adding to the poo stories- I've stopped taking my Pregnacare the last two days and have been v regular again Blush I'm not advising this obviously and I will take them but couldn't help but think! I feel so 'comfortable' Hmm

photographer agree Basingstoke isn't the prettiest place in the world.. Lots to think about. Is your job guaranteed etc? I hope there's no financial worry for you involved

elliz hope you had a nice time at the theatre last night. How civilised. What did you see? I was out at a work event and I feel shattered today- can't handle not being in bed by 10!

GTT- I'm assuming all is well as I didn't hear anything yesterday. I really didn't think I had it so I wasn't worried but just glad it's over with.

Off on a National Trust day out (doesn't life just get super exciting as a parent?!) with the DDs and got to finish making the picnic.. Fingers crossed the rain buggers off...

TheMissingPieceToMyPuzzle · 16/04/2016 10:22

Photographer I used to live in Basingstoke before I moved to Christchurch in July last year!! I agree it is a sht hole and Im so glad I moved away (sorry that probably doesnt help but I lived there for 18 1/2 years Confused) there are some lovely places such as Chineham and Oakley and Bramley, lovely little villages Smile especially Oakley (I lived in all 3 of these places)

Mar* - Im so sorry to hear you've been having a bit of an anxious time! But thats really good news they found a heart beat!! Hope thats some reassurance for you! Come on baby get moving for mumma!!

Ive had a tough time with it with work againHmm its starting to really get me down and stress me out Sad I want to go as long as I can before maternity leave, but with how its going I dont know how Im gunna last another month and a half Sad

Alsooooo how do you know if baby is head down?

GoingLoopyQuickly · 16/04/2016 10:57

I am ex Basingstoke. I lived in a town not far away and went to QMC. left in 1998 for the bright lights of Bristol. B-stoke has improved since then!

AnnaT45 · 16/04/2016 11:01

mar I'm so pleased baby is ok. You must have been beside yourself. Try get as much rest as you can and just go back in if you're ever worried. I'm a big believer in you know what's going on with your body more than anybody else. Thanks

I need to catch up properly but sympathies to everyone with SPD and pains. I find getting up too quickly or moving too fast gives me awful pain. I know I've said it before but keep your legs together as much as possible. Also in my yoga class she told us to sit cross legged on the sofa rather than laying on one side as that can't make things worse.

photographer I hope you get sorted with your job, not what you need now!

missing the midwife will tell you when head is down etc. Some people say they can make out the head etc but I haven't got a clue GrinIf I can remember they only really care from about 34 weeks or so but I may be wrong.

I'm just on my way to London for a hen do. Am so tired but going to the Berkeley for lunch so that will be nice then an activity afterwards. I'm leaving before the night out as I just can't be arsed. Feel awful but I'm so tired as DD isn't sleeping well so I need to be sensible.

We had snow this morning! It's freezing!!! Thank goodness for Costa tea and a warm train Smile

AnnaT45 · 16/04/2016 11:02

Sorry sitting crossed leg good for pains etc in back not SPD!

TheMissingPieceToMyPuzzle · 16/04/2016 12:39

Thank you Anna! Just thought Id ask because I had a MASSIVE movement right down below, and when I say down below it was literally in that 'V' shape just above pubic bone, I was like oh god hes engaging!! But think he moved whatever it was away haha

primarynoodle · 16/04/2016 13:32

missing it feels like a bowling ball has dropped somewhere down below for me (i think this might be when its head down and engaged though)! My baby keeps moving so i can tell if its transverse or if its properly head down and engaged i think

When is your next midwife appointment? Mine showed me how to feel for certain indicators at the 25 week one

primarynoodle · 16/04/2016 14:49

Im watching that portland hospital programme...

About 5-10 mins in and my face is just Hmm.... its all a bit grotesque...

Ellizardo · 16/04/2016 17:01

Cheery - good luck with the festival. Am mega impressed you're able to do all that running around. Hope it's a big success!

Cookies - went to see 'People, Places & Things' at the Wyndhams in the West End. Denise Gough just won an Olivier for her role in it. She is incredible. It's all about rehab and addiction, very powerful and very funny at times.

Trying to get all the things I want to see in before I pop. Off to see 'Sunset Blvd' with Glenn Close with my Dad on Monday!

Also haven't heard on my GTT this time around so just hoping all good.

Primary & Cookies - that Portland Hospital doc is just extraordinary. I appreciated the consultant who said 'the procedure itself [c-section] is the same here or on the NHS' because you'd be forgiven for thinking that hors d'oeuvres and champagne = better labour and better baby. The The Scottish nanny was a delight though! I think I'm going back to OBEM!
