Thanks for the reassurance re Chicken Pox. I know what you mean about each rash. DS had Hand Foot and Mouth when he was about 18 month old and it came as a suprise as I had never heard of it. It is just the timing of DS'S CP. Between DP and me, someone has been off work for the last two months. But this week we are both back properly so need to take annual leave and of course carry on paying for nursery. Thankfully DS seems to cope with illness quite well usually so this might follow suit. Not going to the party sucks but I will take him when he is better. It is in a garden centre too so DP could be convinced to come along...

tams13 · 23/04/2016 10:20

Wow! Feel like I've missed quite a lot yesterday.

beautician I haven't had gtt. Midwife asked why I hadn't been booked for one so I told her that there had been nothing in my urine. She decided to ring the hospital to check about family history (my Gran has type 2). Hospital told her that was fine as they only test in my area if there's something in urine or your parents/siblings have diabetes.

missing Don't know about the bh. A lady in yoga said she'd been having them recently but hadn't had them with previous pregnancies. I'd say that it would be worth ringing antenatal assessment unit if you're worried. Mine were great when I went in with reduced movement even when everything came back ok.

Sorry to hear about the chicken pox going. It's a shame you'll all miss out on the party and things but at least it gets them out the way.

Really looking forward to my week off work and little holiday next week. I'll be finishing work 10 weeks yesterday too. Doesn't feel like long to wait now!

TheMissingPieceToMyPuzzle · 23/04/2016 13:49

Tams they seem to have held off now, only had 1 or 2 whilst working today.. I have midwife on Tuesday so will speak to her about it Smile

Im soooo happy to be able to say that work have finally sorted themselves out and Ive found out Im getting mat leave through the company!! (Nothing I didnt know already but they had to confirm..) I need to give 2 weeks notice at least so Im going to see how I go and if I feel I need to leave earlier than I want too I will Grin so happy and finally feel a bit more organised!!

My mum has also ordered our bridesmaid dresses.. I have only given her two lots of measurements so Im worried im either going to be put into something too small or something that looks like a massive tent!! Blush

BelOfTheBall79 · 23/04/2016 15:13

What's everyone got in their hospital bags and are they ready and waiting yet?

julfin · 23/04/2016 16:34

Bel - I currently don't have a hospital bag or anything useful to put in it (apart from a couple of more-cute-than-practical babygrows that we bought after our 20 week scan). However the following list is gold-dust and will be really really useful, from one of our resident experts (I've forgotten who, sorry for lack of credit - I took the screenshot ages ago).

I replied to lots of other people yesterday but my message vanished and now I can't remember everyone/everything I said - sorry!

Oh, and it's PJs x1 not x11!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 23/04/2016 19:56

Thanks for all the GTT info. Makes sense now my silly pregnant brain didn't even think about family history Hmm

Lula you probably won't be early and neither will I but you can guarantee if a bags not ready it will happen and DH really wouldn't have a clue about what I need. The baby yes but not me.

Mini* regular gaviscon is rubbish. Gaviscon advanced works really quick for me. It's pretty foul as so thick but rather that than heartburn. If it gets really bad you can get a prescription from the doctor.

Julfin that was my list haha

Bel two ticks and I'll repost it all again

Wow thank you both! Our hospital has advised no wheelie bags so have ordered a large weekend bag. No way I will fit all that in though! Maybe can leave stuff in the car and get DH to fetch it Wink

GoingLoopyQuickly · 24/04/2016 03:01

I need to pack my bags. Paranoia is kicking un. I have hit the same time (26+3) as when I had my first bleed with DS. All was fine but had to spend three days in hospital for observation and ended up writing a list of things to get for DP and where everything was.

When I came home I packed two bags. One for labour and one for after and I asked DP to repack the labour one so he knew where everything was. Even though I had Ds at home, the bags were ready just in case and it was handy having them downstairs throughout anyway.

That reminds me I must stock up on Lucozade sport and find my wonderful tenna pants from the loft...

July 2016 Babies (8) - 3rd trimester here we come
BeauticianNotMagician81 · 24/04/2016 11:13

Bel my suitcase is pretty small. I have most of my toiletries in travel size including toothpaste. I then have a carrier bag of extra pants, towels, nappies, clothes in the car just in case of a long stay. With ds1 I had a forceps delivery including a spinal block as prepped for c section on Christmas Eve and went home Christmas Day afternoon. Ds2 I was in for 4 days due to us both having an infection and ds3 I was in hospital for 8 hours so I didn't need half the stuff I had bought in.

beckslovestimmy · 24/04/2016 14:14

I took a wheely hold-all last time, don't think I took too much but was only in for 1 night. I took cotton wool balls last time for cleaning babies bottom. I'll be taking wipes this time! I've got new pj's which are a vest and 3/4 length trousers. I work in the hospital I'll give birth in and it's always boiling, even more so in June. I'm thinking I better get packing 32 weeks on Tuesday!!!

GoingLoopyQuickly · 24/04/2016 14:38

I nearly bought nappies and sleepsuits today but chickened out! We went and had a picnic with the wolves at the local wild safari type place instead. I am so in denial.

dats · 24/04/2016 15:46

becks Yes, me too on the cotton wool, sod that this time - made me chuckle!

GoingLoopy I also picked up a GroSwaddle this morning and swiftly put it down and backed away..!

28 weeks today...I wish it would slow down, already!

gnat99 · 24/04/2016 15:50

Hi ladies thanks for all the bag packing advice - and thanks again Beautician for reposting! I was planning on reading through last thread again to find your precious list.
We are going to a wedding next weekend (in Wiltshire! Very topical!) so I am planning to get organised after that with shopping for hospital stuff. Finally bought two bits of baby clothes this week - probably better for a boy then a girl but plan on using them regardless, so cute!

Puzzle, glad your BH have abated a bit and you are feeling less worried. What do they feel like? I've not had any yet.

Sorry I haven't posted much recently, been busy and stressed and hips/back so sore... Had massage on Friday and it was bliss, but now I just want another one! Been reading all the posts and feeling the July baby love.

TheMissingPieceToMyPuzzle · 24/04/2016 15:57

Gnat- belly tightens up and it gets quite uncomfortable, lasts for about 10-20 seconds for me but others can be 30

GoingLoopyQuickly · 24/04/2016 16:11

Mar. How have things been for you this week?

BelOfTheBall79 · 24/04/2016 18:58

It's likely possible that I've gone overboard on the buying things front. Think I am mainly sorted save for major purchase of a pram / buggy and all the bits like nappies, wipes etc.

The heirloom moses basket arrived from MIL yesterday. It's very nice! She's also sent new sheets, new mattress and a couple of pram blankets too (which amazingly match the nursery colour scheme). So am holding off on getting either a nexttome or snuzpod, which I'd previously been thinking about.

DH and I are off on a mini baby moon next weekend for a few nights. We're going to the Cotswolds. Can't wait. Just the 4.5 working days to go...as I have Weds pm off to have afternoon tea with a couple of friends Cake!

NCT tomorrow. We are apparently going to be focusing on pain relief during birth. I will mainly be focusing on the amazing chocolate cookies they have...

AnnaT45 · 24/04/2016 21:39

Evening lovelies! Hope you've had fab weekends? Boo to Monday coming around so soon. Bank holiday next weekend, whoop!

beautican fab bump! I must remember to take one but I'm rubbish!

Love how organised you all are with your hospital bags. Great lists, all I would add us take some maternity leggings. I didn't and ended up having a c section and wish I had them to wear home as the scar is very sore the days after. I would also have a small bag at home in case you end up in longer so your partner can bring in. I ended up being in four nights as we both needed Ivs. DH bought me ridiculous underwear when i had run out Angry thank goodness for big sisters and a sainsburys next door to the hospital!

Thanks for the well wishes on the house. We are aiming to move 3 June so I think I'll be 32 or so weeks then. I'm so over the top excited about it all now. Just doing research on all things I need to buy for it. We have three weddings in May so no time to do much so trying to get on top of it all now ! Once we are in I can focus on baby stuff, luckily we have enough from DD if this one came early though.

Hope you're all well, can't believe how far along some of you are. I'm bringing up the rear Grin

Cookiesandcoffee · 24/04/2016 23:10

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. I've had a great time out with friends for afternoon tea. So very civilised.

beautician you look great! I must must do one this week as I'm 30 weeks tomorrow (shit!) good hospital bag advice. Mine is slowly getting there.

Meant to say I bought some nappies in Tesco- buy one get one free. They were newborn ones. I don't buy pampers all the time but I like their newborn ones. I recommend not buying loads of size 1 though as they aren't in them long in my experience.

gnat your massage sounds lovely. But sorry to hear you've been feeling rotten. I say book another one in to look forward to Grin

bel your baby moon sounds lovely, very jealous. And yum to the cake with friends! Lots to look forward to Smile oooo just reading down and I was planning on a wheely case this time.. I had two huge hold alls last time and was a faff to carry it all. (I like to be prepared) I can't think what their reasoning behind this would be? Surely it's easier to manoeuvre?

anna how are you fitting allll this in before baby arrives?! Your time is going to fly by! Think I need to fill my diary a bit more ha.

Ps first bit of boob leakage today.. I did poke my nips a bit Blush but it was clear and not colostrum ?! Anyone else?! (Sorry if TMI!)

GoingLoopyQuickly · 25/04/2016 04:33

Cookies. I thought I remember colostrum as pretty clear. I am starting to leak too. Just on one side and ironically the "weak" side from before. Very new to me this leaking lark.

gnat99 · 25/04/2016 08:22

Thanks for the maternity leggings tip, Anna - that reminds me I need to order some! All my others and tights are too uncomfortable now.

Cookies sounds like you had a lovely afternoon yesterday. Afternoon tea, I love it!

MissingPuzzle, thanks for the BH description. Hope you are doing better today. Forgot to say, great news about your work finally getting their act together about your leave. One less thing for you to worry about!

Beautician, love the bump pic. I must get one uploaded this week, maybe on Wed when I'm 30 weeks

Bel - also envious of your baby moon - have a wonderful time!! I've taken today off work and we were supposed to drive to the coast. But it's a fairly rotten day, so the homemade pancakes for breakfast might be the highlight ;)

Have a good start to the week everyone.

Mar19901 · 25/04/2016 08:50

Hi all so sorry I haven't been able to update all week just been quite busy with work we had our annual work conference.

I have started ordering the stuff for my hospital bag should all be arriving this week so I can put that all together.

I'm feeling more flutters than actual movements but trying not get worried about that I'm back at the hospital tomo for a scan and anti d injection.

Just catching up on all ur comments and pics loving the bump pics. I could really do with a massage might book one in this week as I have the week off.

Hope everyone is well x

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 25/04/2016 08:57

Goingloopy I would start buying stuff and keeping it at a friends/relatives house. You will miss out on so many bargains if not. I'm not superstitious at all. I bought the pram when I was 3 months pregnant. I also got married on Friday 13th.

Gnat I've never really suffered braxton hicks until ds3 I had loads. It was more a preparation for labour for me. In the days leading up to his arrival I kept thinking I was going into labour but they were contractions that amounted to nothing and were really far apart. I always have a show at the beginning of labour. Some people have their show a week or more before labour kicks in.
*
Bel* all of my children so far have been good sleepers in the Moses basket. So I'm holding off on the snuzpod and sleepyhead as I'm not sure they will be needed. Ds3 just used to nap on the sofa on a cushion with a blanket over him.

Anna I'm sure the move will go well. How exciting. Ours hasn't been too stressful it only took about a week to unpack and some was only late as we were waiting for furniture to be assembled.
I will have maternity leggings or yoga pants in my hospital bag as part of my coming home outfit anyway. I've always just packed maternity wear to come home in.

Cookies yes my boobs are leaking colostrum (it's clear). It's mostly at night and first thing in the morning after a shower. I guess the warm water gets them flowing. Sorry tmi but I literally sit on the morning getting ready with them dripping. I always produce a lot which is why I'm pretty sure it's more down to lack of support that I haven't successfully breast fed before.

Thank you for all the nice comments on my bump pic. I guess at least I look pregnant. Definitely a distinctive pregnant bump. Although I feel (I am) like a beached whale.

Anyone else back to constant peeing. I can't sleep at night as I have to keep on getting up. The babies movements are so low. I know he was head down at my last midwife visit.
