Stupid bold fail.

Mar pleased to hear things are going better for you. How many weeks are you? Is this first baby? I hardly felt ds1 move at all. He was just lazy. He only weighed 6lb so not like he didn't have room. This baby moves loads definitely more than any of the others. But is that because I'm on baby 4 and more in tune with it now or possibly because he isn't moving against the nice tight muscles I had with ds1 but the loose lazy muscles having had three children already.

Cookiesandcoffee · 25/04/2016 09:07

Ah thanks beautician I couldn't remember if it was clear or more yellowy. This was pre shower actually but I had been hot in a sports bra. My boobs felt so full yesterday I felt like I wanted to express?! So uncomfortable. Are you going to try to breast feed this time? I think it's so much down to latch. And getting the right support with the latching technique. Also yes to the constant wee-ing! You are definitely not a whale. I've been referring to myself constantly as a whale ... Which was confirmed when I stepped on the scales this morning. Absolutely horrific. I don't understand how I've put on so much weight?!

Glad to hear you're ok mar and just busy. Make sure you're not overworking too much.

30 weeks today

GoingLoopyQuickly · 25/04/2016 09:46

Beautician. You are right. I should make more of an effort. I have been getting friends prepared to give back stuff I lent them and I have bought a couple of bits and bobs like bottles, a stretchy carrier and I treated myself to a perfect prep machine from ebay too. I have things like a breast pump (I am planning on Bfing but not forever, and I am probably going to try mix feeding too). I have baby baby clothes scattered at peoples houses. My friend has a cot bed to give me so I need to get a mattress.

I will make a start on it all this week. Thanks for the boot up the bum. Nappies can wait though 😄

BelOfTheBall79 · 25/04/2016 13:34

Happy Monday all!

To the person who asked re wheelie case and why hospital has said no, I'm not sure to be honest. Perhaps to do with size when open? Guess that takes up more room than a bag. My bag just arrived from John Lewis so need to get all the stuff to pack in it now Smile

This might seem a weird question, but for existing mums, h owe quickly does the bump 'go down'? Appreciate will take some time to get back to before size (if that's even possible...) but does an element go overnight? Or do you stay looking 40 weeks pregnant for a while?!

Dowhatyoulove123 · 25/04/2016 13:37

Oh so much to catch up on..

ATM I'm crocheting my last baby blanket now, got one or two nice ones for the nursery so I'm delighted. Also went and got some room decals as well at the weekend for baby's room - was looking very beige!

Baby's movements were a bit slow yesterday but I think she's moved around and my bump feels proper awkward. I've have quite a bit of movement today so I'm happy.

Haven't had any leakage but I notice a bit of like flakiness around the nipples - I've not a notion as I'm a first timer!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 25/04/2016 13:48

Bel it's hard to tell re bump going down. With ds1 I was back in my size 10s a week later but I still got asked when out & about alone two weeks later when baby was due Sad. My bump tends to go down pretty quick as I carry loads of excess water so after a few days my ankles reappear too. However, I get left with a soft flabby tummy. I'm determined to tackle it this time as I still had excess weight from ds3 when I got pregnant this time. Some people have a flat tummy again within a week, some look pregnant with a hard tummy for a while. You will feel the contraction of your tummy muscles going back to normal after birth but very rarely with first baby. I didn't feel this until ds3 and it was quite painful so I'm dreading it this time.

AnnaT45 · 25/04/2016 13:57

Ha ha cookies I am one of those people that is always busy it seems! I genuinely have to leave weekends free so I can chill out lol! Also don't worry about the weight gain, it's not worth it. It all comes off again anyway. I figure there is so much to worry about in pregnancy it's just not worth it! Thanks beautician that's reassuring I am very excited about the next 6 weeks which is probably clouding my need to get cracking with stuff. DH sorted out garage and loft at weekend, so I just want to go through wardrobes etc and have a clear out before we move.

Re boob leakage non so far but I reckon it's going to happen. My poor boobs only had one month off breastfeeding before I fell pregnant :(

Gnat new look do good leggings, you just end up living in them the weeks after baby comes as so comfy!

Mar when I am really busy I don't feel the baby move much i think as the movement of you gets them to sleep, so try not to worry too much. Like Beautician this baby is different to DD who was a party animal and didn't stop bloody moving! this one is asleep a lot (praying this means it will be on the outside!)

Bel I can't really remember to be honest, it's all a blur. I probably looked about 20 weeks pregnant after it for a few weeks but i was bed bound so it took a while initially. I would say it's very individual but I think I could get into my old jeans around 10 weeks after maybe. But I don't tend to carry weight on my tummy, I'm all hips, things and arse - they always look pregnant lol!

I am about to eat a cookie with a brew because my client is driving me nuts lol!

Thanks all re sharing post birth bump size experiences. DH is calling me 'tubs' at the moment (charming). Looking forward to when I'm smaller than him again!

Mar19901 · 25/04/2016 15:52

Beautician- yes this is my second pregnancy the first I had a still born at 32 weeks so naturally quite anxious this time round. Baby was really active up until about two weeks ago but I'm trying not to worry to much now doctors have suggested leaving work earlier and getting lots of rest which is why after how hectic last week was I have taken some leave to recover Smile

29+2 today Smile

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 25/04/2016 15:56

Mar so sorry I think I missed that. Are they monitoring you regularly after last time? One thing that gets baby moving for me is my morning smoothie as I use frozen fruit so obviously a very cold drink. I always lie on my side for a bit after drinking it and baby moves. You probably just have a lazy bubs.

Mar19901 · 25/04/2016 15:57

This might seem like a crazy question but I'm in the process of ordering my hospital bag but not sure as to how big or what typeHmm

What would u all recommend?

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 25/04/2016 15:59

The good thing is now they have this count the kicks. So any reduced movement and they check you over. Our friend last year had reduced movement at 35 weeks last year with her first. They kept her in and as they weren't seeing much improvement they delivered the baby. He is a happy, healthy almost one year old now.

Mar19901 · 25/04/2016 16:00

Beautician yes they are monitoring closely been in hospital nearly every week for scans and check ups and the doctors and midwifes have been really nice x

I have a case similar to this can't remember the exact one as I got it last time around. It fits everything for me. Then for baby I'm taking in the change bag which this time around is this.

Hi ladies! Hope everyone had a good weekend?

Spent most of it trying to get over a horrible cold & compiling my hospital bag list, so thank you all for sharing yours, really useful.

Feeling so sluggish these days..is anyone else? I thought 3rd trimester you get more energy?! Counting the days until mat leave..33 to go!

Cookies your afternoon tea sounded fab hope you had fun!

beautican lovely baby bump :-) oh and I'm constantly peeing too!

Bel your baby moon sounds lovely! We are also off on a babymoon but next bank holiday end of May I can't wait!

Mars I ordered a small wheelie bag from BHS. Never usually buy from there but did a search for wheelie bags and it came up, on sale too so got a good deal.

minieggaddict · 25/04/2016 19:39

Hi ladies Smile

Good to hear everyone's had a nice weekend, altho I've only really skimmed thru so apologies if I've missed a crisis.

Jem - very sluggish here. I feel like I just want to sit down all day. Have to say that more energy in the 3rd tri is a myth (for me at least). It's about the only time you'll have the perfect excuse for being lazy so crack on!

For my hospital bag I shall probably use the flight bag I used last time and changing bag for the baby's stuff. I was only in one night so hoping for similar experience. Hoping and praying I get to use the pool again. My advice is to have your bag pretty organized as getting stuff out after labour was harder than it sounds!

Cookiesandcoffee · 25/04/2016 20:33

bel I left the hospital stil looking about 6 months. It took mine quite a while to go down, but I could feel it contracting down with Bfeeding. I gained about 5 stone each time so think I also had extra weight so wasn't in my pre pregnancy jeans for a long time. I've got friends who were in their size 8 jeans a week later bitches

For my hospital bag I'm using my cabin luggage wheelie case.. I haven't got a changing bag as I sold mine (oops) but will pack a small hold all. I was only in a night so hoping to be the same. I had so much excess stuff Blush I'm in the market for a chic bag but haven't stumbled across one I love yet...

Went to my first pregnancy yoga tonight. Felt very heavy and inflexible compared to the last time I did yoga. Hoping to feel better after a few weeks.

I have an 'extra' midwife app tomorrow.. I think after my crying breakdown after the weight issue last night she's concerned Hmm
