Thanks Smile

I hope it works. I'm starting to feel sorry for myself!

Am I right in thinking that you are in the potentially dangerous workplace for a week Aye? You could self certificate yourself off sick for that time for a stomach bug or something which you could then realise is pregnancy a few more weeks down the line. Can you submit the pay request now so it is in progress? Whilst your mum is right about the legalities, I agree with you that you might find they forget all about the informal agreement they made and don't increase it.

Greasy definitely counts Thurlow

Mine is greasy on top, and dry as a bone from ears downwards!

Thurlow · 13/04/2016 13:53

That's a tough situation to be in, Aye. If you have an informal agreement and then HR disagree with a payrise, is yours the kind of firm where you could request an explanation of why, to try and 'trap' them?

I know you can't say what you do or what the situation is, but quite how potentially risky would this random event be for the baby?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 13/04/2016 15:53

Blimey aye they've underpaid you for 18 months, you're definitely not the one being dishonest! Though I understand why you don't want to give them any reason to go back on their word. Perhaps the terrible stomach bug for a week then oops actually I'm pregnant is the way to go - once you've got something in writing about the pay rise

My lips are really dry and I did have some lovely spots on my chin a few weeks ago -luckily they've gone!

bobcat85 · 13/04/2016 18:01

For those of you feeling a bit anxious, I had my booking appointment yesterday and spoke to the midwife about risk of miscarriage. She said that as everyday passes your risk becomes less, so I've just started to take each day as it comes. Also mmc is very rare although I know some people have experienced it.

FuzzyOwl · 13/04/2016 18:19

Thanks bobcat and that is what I am trying to focus on. I also hope that as I have had a mmc, I would have to be really unlucky to have another one and although I know of women who have had more than one they have to be even more in the minority. Hope your booking in appointment went well.

Oh FuzzyO, try not worry, I know it's hard when there are no symptoms, I'm on pins too but I'm trying to enjoy being pregnant. And hoping and planning for baby.

We will all touch wood God willing have our babies come Autumn

I thought I was doing fine, been to see a friend tonight know for her lack of tact who asked me if I had put on weight or if I was pregnant

fuzzywuzzy · 13/04/2016 19:33

Oh Albus, laugh it off, people at work have been asking if I'm pregnant, one woman when dp murmured 'well there's something I've not been told then', replied 'oh so is fuzzy just eating really well then..?' 😱 People are so rude & nosey!

Fedupithink · 13/04/2016 19:40

That was nice of her Albus!

I'm so late home from work tonight. I've been trying to leave at 5 but spent 15 mins in the toilets being sick so missed my train then got collared by my manager about some work stuff. Won't get home until gone 8 and all I want is my bed!

I've got the day off tomorrow though and midwife at 11am so no commute or early alarm which is a massive bonus.

This week is definitely the worst so far. Those of you feeling better, when did you symptoms peak? I'm hoping 9-10 weeks?!

almondbutter · 13/04/2016 19:59

Again, not wanting to give anyone (including me) false hope but I am 10 weeks today and feeling ever so slightly less pukey. Eaten fruit and veg, rice and fish today. I am about twice as tired as usual and only worked until 2 but went for a half hour walk and wasn't out of breath. Not sleeping well and some heartburn kicking in but all that seems manageable if I feel a bit more like myself.

Beelzebubble · 13/04/2016 20:09

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and I feel fantastic today! I've been exercising all week (which I LOVE and I've missed sooooo much), work was crazy today and I'm not overly tired. And not even a hint of nausea today!

bobcat85 · 13/04/2016 20:18

I'm 9+1 today and I'm feeling a bit better but tend to get nausea and hunger at the same time, very confusing. Haven't been sick at all though.

I'm having some real trouble sleeping now, it's annoying as I'm exhausted in the morning. Was in a terrible mood this morning as well, felt annoyed at everything and everyone.

FuzzyOwl · 13/04/2016 21:48

I think I am doing quite well on the positive side at the moment fuzzyw although I probably sound deranged and eternally pessimistic on here. I have just managed to get another uti now but hopefully I can get antibiotics first thing tomorrow and it will clear up this time. Autumn will be a good time for all of us! Smile

Oh Albus! How rude of her and she was taking a risk if she knows anything about The Pregnancy Rage!

Fedup my symptoms (headaches really) only began at 10 weeks.

Sounds like some of you are coming through the other side of the first trimester symptoms. Really hope everything continues to ease off for you all, but not so much that you worry.

Sodachick snap, I am due on the 29th November too! That is very insensitive of the Sonographer. Flowers

Albus that sounds just like my hair! My skin is greasy too and I keep getting lovely little crops of spots. So attractive!

AlbusPercival · 14/04/2016 08:40

Pleased to report hair cut was a success, I look like me again.

Though clearly my tummy has popped already judging by DFriend!

On holiday this weekend I think I had better go for neck up photos!

pickledsausage · 14/04/2016 08:53

Hi everyone, haven't posted for ages as haven't been able to keep up! But have been having a read through. Hope everyone is doing well! bobcat that is so reassuring, thanks for sharing!! I'm 10+3 today and so hopefully in the home stretch.

Just posting for some advice actually, I've woken up this morn at 3am with a pounding headache that left me awake for ages, woke up again at my alarm at 6 and it was still there, slept more and still have it. I've told work I'm going to stay home for now but has anyone experienced this? I'm in bed but every time I've got up I'm feeling so dizzy. I drink quite a lot of water so a bit worried I've over done it?! Either way think body is telling me to rest x

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 14/04/2016 09:31

pickled that sounds horrid. I had terrible migraines in my first and second tri with DD, and once or twice I think I must have been asleep in the early warning stages (I get a very specific pattern of visual disturbances and sensations in hands) and just woke up with the headache. Sleep was the only thing that worked for me.

Hope everyone is keeping well today. I'm sat at home missing work for a blood test and the surgery have just called to cancel! Really annoying as I'll now have to get more time off work to have it next week Angry

INeedNewShoes · 14/04/2016 10:00

Possibly low blood sugar making you feel dizzy. Try nibbling plain biscuits (I like oatcakes) when you first wake up.

The headache - I have no idea. If it continues I'd see your GP. And remember there are lots of painkillers that you can't take in pregnancy.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious!

almondbutter · 14/04/2016 10:06

Morning all,

Had a text from my doctor saying I'm due for a smear test (really in the mood for that) -- for those of you who have done this before, can you have a smear while pg please?

Thanks for any advice.

Thurlow · 14/04/2016 10:22

almond, the midwife mentioned it to me during my booking appointment and said to me to sort it out after pregnancy.

almondbutter · 14/04/2016 10:25

Thanks Thurlow, what a treat awaits. My last smear was in Singapore, where medical care is A+. They ultrasounded my liver and kidneys and felt my boobs for lumps as well as doing the fabulous test, and there was a special little drawer in the bed for you to drop your pants into.
