I made it home about 7.30, only ended up on the floor for about half the journey so that wasn't too bad.

I know nice already seen a heartbeat but the 6 weeks between then and the 12 week scan feel like a lifetime so I feel a fraud ordering my "baby on board" badge just yet. I will deffo be getting one assuming the next scan goes well though.

I've got the midwife next Thursday for my booking in appt so trying to see that as my next mini milestone but woke up today and I feel totally fine so I'm a bit worried, again!

CakeAndChocolate · 07/04/2016 07:56

fedup I always feel fine in the mornings (apart from tired), the nausea and general crapness doesn't kick in until about 10/11am for me.
I am totally with you on the badge/asking for a seat thing, but we shouldn't really feel like that. We feel rough, we should feel like we can "claim" a seat.
Btw-do you have a season ticket? Some train companies allow you to sit in first class whilst pregnant if you have a season ticket. Might be worth looking into? I only go into the office a couple of days a week so it works out cheaper to buy daily tickets so no first class for me!

ChatEnOeuf · 07/04/2016 08:20

Day of drama yesterday - heavy bleeding and fearing the worst. Away from home but after a few phone calls and favours I was admitted to the local EPAU and scanned. Amazingly, there's still a tiny heart beating in there! Not out of the woods yet as there's a large haematoma next to the pregnancy that may yet all fall away. Fingers tightly crossed it's a stubborn/clingy bean.

Yay for good newses, Flowers for those feeling rough and worrying.

goldfinch01 · 07/04/2016 08:28

Oh no how worrying chatenoeuf. Fingers crossed for you it resolves itself and all is well.

theAntsareMyFriends · 07/04/2016 08:43

Fingers crossed chat. A heartbeat is good sign and I hope it sticks.

I've been away for ages and tried to catch up but have forgotten to remember names so great news for all those who've had successful early scans.

I also agree with completely losing your dignity when pregnant. I'm also a very private person but for some reason I didn't care when giving birth. I spent ages worrying about and picking the right outfit to give birth in and then ended up in just a vest. My most undignified but was after the birth when my midwife and student were peering at me to check how bad my tear was. My midwife called in another midwife, who called in another who then asked if her student could look too to which I replied 'sure, the more the merrier'!

likeawestern · 07/04/2016 09:02

FuzzyO hope you're feeling much better now.

Welcome happyland, hope it sinks in soon and you can start to enjoy it. Hi lucymoo and welcome.

St4r and Jade I have terrible back ache too. I have previously been under a women's health physio for chronic pelvic pain so I've asked my dr for a re-referral.

Bobcat glad your nhs experience was so positive and that everything is ok with your little one.

Goldfinch congratulations on your healthy scan!!

Chat that sounds really scary. Thinking of you Thanks

I had an early scan yesterday too and saw my little one - strong heartbeat and moving around. Measured 8 +5 so a couple of days ahead of where we thought but that may change back come 12 weeks. Got ambushed by the dc's when we got home who announced that they know we are expecting and can we just tell them so they can be excited too Hmm. No secrets with a 9 and 12 year old in the house!! Booking appointment today.

Slumberparty · 07/04/2016 09:41

Hi All,
Well I had an unexpected early scan today. I'm not in the UK and am using a private midwifery company alongside a private doctor for all prenatal care, but will be giving birth in the UK. I had my first appointment today and the midwife suggested why not see if we can see anything on the ultrasound. So at 8+1 weeks I got to see the blob and a heartbeat! Very reassuring!

FuzzyOwl · 07/04/2016 09:55

How terrifying Chat and I have everything crossed that your little bean stays very firmly put.

Good news Slumber.

Thanks like.

Due to epic baby brain, I've managed to not send back a pair of trousers within the deadline. So, if anyone wants a black maternity work trousers from Dorothy Perkins for the postage, let me know. They say they are a size 8 but they will definitely fit a size 10 as I've kept the 6, and I am not normally that size. I'll post this on FB as well but please, if they'll fit let me know as otherwise they'll just sit in my drawer!

findingmyfeet12 · 07/04/2016 11:04

Fingers crossed for you Chat

I honestly didn't expect the first timester to be like this. I didn't realise there would be so much to worry about.

Congrats to everyone who's had a good early scan.

INeedNewShoes · 07/04/2016 12:13

Can I join?

My due date is the 28th of November and I'm something like 6+3 but things haven't been going smoothly. I ended up at the EPAU on Monday and they could only see a yolk sac but no sign of a foetus so I'm in a nerve-wracking wait for another scan next Friday.

I had no idea how much TTC and pregnancy are a huge test of patience.

Fingers crossed for everyone else on this thread Smile

St4r · 07/04/2016 12:21

Hi Ineednewshows. My DD is also 28th of November. I'm just sitting in the waiting room at doctors because I have concerns. Why did you get referred to EPAU? Was it due to pain?

Hope everything turns out ok for you

FuzzyOwl · 07/04/2016 12:24

Thinking of you both and sending positive vibes INeed and St4r.

findingmyfeet12 · 07/04/2016 12:27

What is EPAU?

Fingers crossed for both of you btw.

St4r · 07/04/2016 12:31

EPAU is a unit that specialises in early pregnancy problems

INeedNewShoes · 07/04/2016 12:40

Thanks for the support.

St4r My GP referred me because I've been bleeding a bit and had discomfort on one side (which has thankfully subsided). Because I conceived by insemination there is a slightly higher risk of ectopic pregnancy so I had to be scanned to rule that out.

Thankfully, it's not ectopic as the yolk sac is in my uterus where it should be, but it wasn't at all reassuring to be told that there's no sign of a foetus. I can only hope that it was because it's such early days.

I hope everything turns out ok for you.

FuzzyOwl · 07/04/2016 12:42

Pregnancy is a huge worry!

OP posts:
ScottishGirlx · 07/04/2016 13:03

Hi ineed and st4r, I'm also due 28th Nov!

Sorry to hear you're going through worrying times, fingers crossed its just because it's early days.

also sorry for being quite absent from this thread. I am keeping up to date with it and always mean to post but then either need to pee, need a nap or need to eat! Haha!

Hope everyone is doing well and sorry to those who are feeling rubbish Thanks

I've got my first app with a midwife next wed but I don't actually know if that's a booking in app or just an initial app?! They didn't say and I stupidly didn't ask. Suppose I'll just turn up and see. Excited to actually speak about my pregnancy to someone other than DP!

Slumberparty · 07/04/2016 14:15

Sorry to hear that Ineed. It is early days so fingers crossed x

coppergrey · 07/04/2016 15:23

Sending all my positive vibes your way, INeed and St4r Flowers

Not sure if this will help with everyone's positive thinking, but I've been lurking in the 'full term waiting room' thread as people post about their babies being born. It is SO lovely and highly recommended if you're feeling a bit woeful in this early stage.

FuzzyOwl · 07/04/2016 16:23

How many weeks are you Scottish and any idea how long the appointment is meant to be? Where I am now and the trust I was in last pregnancy, the first appointment was the booking in and they didn't bother with anything prior to that.

OP posts:
needanewjob · 07/04/2016 16:48

Hi I'm due Nov 3rd with dc3. Have had booking in appt now waiting for scan date - seems to be taking ages to come and I'm debating having a private scan in the meantime as I'm feeling quite anxious. I lost my daughter last Spring very unexpectedly and I think as a result am feeling as if I am not allowed to get excited this time round. Midwife was very lovely and reassuring though, I suppose now I just need to wait and see

BeedlesPineNeedles · 07/04/2016 16:51

Do you have to wait a whole week Ineed? 6+3 is early but I guess you were carefully tracking ovulation if you had insemination. Hopefully you'll see a heartbeat next week. I had a scan at 5+4 and the clinic really stressed that we might not see anything, we did just about see the yolk sac but nothing else and you're only 6 days further along.

st4r did you have any luck with the dr referring you for an early scan?

I realised today that as I'm nearly 10 weeks I'm almost 1/4 of the way to my due date. Seems quite unbelivable that I've kept this little bean alive that long (we'll not think about the fact that it was in deep freeze for the first 2w5d!)

INeedNewShoes · 07/04/2016 16:59

Thanks for your post Beedles . You're right re dates - I know pretty much definitely that I conceived on the 7th of March so I was 6 weeks exactly on the day of the scan and the yolk sac only measured 5 weeks. I have a tilted uterus though and I've read that sometimes in the early days everything measures small if you have a tilted uterus (clutching at straws, perhaps).

I think I'd rather stick with my next scan date of the 15th rather than try to bring it earlier. That way, whatever they see on the scan should be conclusive as I'll be 7+4 by then, where as if I have a scan earlier there's still a chance that a heartbeat might not have shown up yet.

I'm going away for the weekend to see some friends which is a welcome distraction from the waiting!

FuzzyOwl · 07/04/2016 17:02

Sorry to hear about your daughter needanewjob. I can understand feeling anxious and think that you should go for a private scan if you feel it will bring you reassurance. Glad you have a supportive midwife.

Glad to hear about your good scan news Slumber.

How did you get on today St4r?

At your stage INeed everything is so tiny it really is difficult to see what is going on. Even though I am guessing you were tracking everything carefully, you still could have been a bit late ovulating and then again implanting or it could just be that the sonographer couldn't see much regardless. I have read lots of stories of other women in similar situations who have had a positive scan the following week - I have everything crossed that you are another one and I hope the time until then doesn't drag too much for you.

Beedles I am almost ten weeks (past it if you go on LMP) and, as you say, we are quarter of the way there. Gulp!
