Thought I'd be healthy and have porridge this morning. Not a good idea, I feel so sick now!!

goldfinch01 · 06/04/2016 08:08

Early scan this morning, feeling a bit nervous but telling myself what will be will be. I don't have any reason to be worried other than not many symptoms (although googling beedle's leverpastej has made me feel quite queasy!)

Fingers crossed!

Happylandpirate · 06/04/2016 08:09

Thurlow I work in a police control room so I work 24/7 shifts but get quite a lot of days off. My husband works 4 on 4 off (not the police) so although we don't see a lot of each other our childcare is covered quite well.

Happylandpirate · 06/04/2016 08:31

Goldfinch good luck Thanks

fuzzywuzzy · 06/04/2016 08:34

Jade definitely get your back pain checked out, you can't put up with it for eight more months! I had really bad lower back pain which was also causing pain lower down and making sitting and walking uncomfortable, I'm ok now but for a while I was thinking the worst.

So yesterday I nearly bought a pregnancy test to check to make sure I am pregnant. I didn't I made myself put the test down and walk away.

I'm also finding my jeans are really uncomfortable now, I think I might buy a few maternity essentials end of this month, jeans & leggings mainly and sleep bras breasts are painful lying down.

Hope everyone has a good day. And good luck for everyone going to early scans :)

Canters15 · 06/04/2016 08:35

Good luck goldfinch .I have mine on Saturday and am so so nervous. Keeping everything crossed for you.

ChatEnOeuf · 06/04/2016 08:42

I'm so used to the nights that it's just part of the job, Canters. I feel tough on the first one as I never sleep well beforehand, but after that I'm okay. It's better we only do 3 or 4- night stretches, the full weeks were really hard. Keeping busy helps the time pass!

Fedupithink · 06/04/2016 08:59

Good luck Goldfinch let us all know how you get on!

Thurlow · 06/04/2016 09:14

DP is police, Happy, and I work f/t M-F so yes, while it's great for childcare we're normally like ships that pass in the night. He has however been doing an almost day desk job recently, which has been useful at least when I'm exhausted. I have a horrible feeling he'll go back to proper shifts when I have a newborn...

coppergrey · 06/04/2016 09:15

Good luck goldfinch, hope everything is ok.

I've got a personal training session in 45 mins and I'm dreading it. I've got 4 left in my package that have already been paid for so thought I might as well go to them but I'm just so tired!

My trainer knows I'm pregnant but is not particularly sympathetic... Sad

Jamjar12 · 06/04/2016 09:54

Good luck goldfinch! How many weeks are you? Sorry if you've recently said and I've just been a big blind! I've got mine on Monday when I'll be 7+4 which I'm now worried is actually too early to be of any use but also hugely excited and wishing the Easter holiday would just go quickly for once! Hope your scan is ok :)

BeedlesPineNeedles · 06/04/2016 09:54

Good luck goldfinch the waiting is the worst. Though it was almost comical at my 7 week scan, I was waiting in the chair, naked from the waist down, legs apart and the dr couldn't get the chair to go up. So he was faffing around on the floor trying to get the footpedal to work. I wanted to say just get on with it and stick the dildocam inside me. Hope your's goes more smoothly!

Told my boss this morning so I can work from home tomorrow and friday!

FuzzyOwl · 06/04/2016 09:56

Hope all goes well Goldfinch.

Thurlow and Happyland my DD starts school in Sep too, and baby due end of Nov. The more I think about it, the happier I am with the age gap - day times will be more manageable (and more time for napping!) plus DD will be of an age to appreciate what's going on. Can't WAIT to tell her after the 12 week scan.

Have booked an early scan next Thurs when I'll be 7+5. Had 2 early MC last year so v nervous but have made it past the stage when I mc'd both times so trying to stay hopeful! These next few days are going to draaaaaaaag.....

Thurlow · 06/04/2016 10:04

Ah, we can be a little support group on that Monday morning as we wave them off to school (the weather better be nice because I didn't have a daughter only to not be able to put her in gingham dresses Grin)! I think it's going to be a nice age gap. They'll certainly be able to help. I can't wait to tell her either, Cake, DD has been desperate for a baby for the past year or so, she should be over the moon.

MoreCakeMoreCake · 06/04/2016 10:09

Same Thurlow - she has been talking about a baby brother or sister for ages and has even told people I'm pregnant in the past when I haven't been! Slightly embarrassing....

Happylandpirate · 06/04/2016 10:21

Haha yes Thurlow I'm the same, can't wait to see my DD in a gingham dress lol!! Awaiting the 15th April to confirm what school she got into!!! I'm feeling tired and achey today, fortunately it's my first day off and the weather is miserable so me and DD are back in bed watching Alice in Wonderland and eating apples!! I have the food shop to do but I can't bring myself to look at foods that make me feel queasy (which is most things except apples, tangerines, crisps, fizzy sweets, pasta and tuna - a weird combination I know but it's what I've been living off for the last 3 weeks and the only thing I can think of to eat without wanting to throw up)

bobcat85 · 06/04/2016 11:27

After a very tiring day in London yesterday (got home at 2.30am) I had some spotting again this morning. I had some last week and told them at my private early scan on Saturday, she wasn't worried but said tell the doctor if it continues.
Went to the doctor at 9.10am and he referred me straight away to the EPU and booked an appointment for a scan for 10.30. Got there early and they did the scan and thankfully everything is fine and baby is actually measuring the dates we originally thought, contradictory to my private scan. So I'm currently 8weeks 1day and apparently risk of miscarriage drops quite significantly after 8 weeks if there's a heartbeat. Feeling a lot more confident now. Had such a great experience with the NHS this morning, everything sorted in about an hour.

I've also become increasingly addicted to Mini Milks.

findingmyfeet12 · 06/04/2016 11:31

Hello again, I can't keep up with this thread!

FuzzyOwl hope your uti is clearing up. They're bad enough when your not pregnant.

St4r let us know how you're getting on with the back pain.

Fingers crossed for your scan Goldfinch

I'm sorry if I've missed anyone.

The only update from me is a tmi one I'm afraid. It's the return of the dreaded constipation. Dh has taken to asking me if I've been to the loo yet every couple of hours or so. Who said that romance was dead?

findingmyfeet12 · 06/04/2016 11:33

That's good news Bobcat hopefully you'll be able to feel more relaxed now. Everyone (including me) says that spotting is normal or at least not uncommon but when it happens it's terrifying.

Fedupithink · 06/04/2016 11:42

That's great news Bobcat

Don't worry Jam I had an early scan at 6+3 (LMP dates) and we saw a heartbeat so shouldn't be too early if you're over 7 weeks.

bobcat85 · 06/04/2016 11:44

Thanks findingmyfeet, it was a bit. Glad that I've managed to get some reassurance so quickly.

Hope the scan goes well Goldfinch.

FuzzyOwl · 06/04/2016 11:47

Great news Bobcat.

Thanks finding. Have you tried lactulose?

That's great news bobcat and lovely that you got scanned so quickly.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 06/04/2016 12:12

Glad all was well bobcat.

finding I'm forcing down a glass of prune juice with my breakfast every day and it certainly helps. I went without it for a week and was so uncomfortable. But this is certainly preventing too much discomfort! Not the nicest though...
