I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

danni those pics are gorgeous! What a little cutee!

Today I have a new favourite pregnancy related item (am willing to accept I'm behind the curve on this...)

PREGGO TIGHTS!!!

Have been using my existing ones, but the waistband cuts across my bump which is not very comfy and makes me look like an overstuffed sausage...
These though go all the way up to my bra!!! They're amazing!! Am in love. GrinGrin
(Also got them for half the price of m and s from eBay... Bargain!)

balalalala · 20/06/2016 11:47

Danni you've inspired me! I've just booked one for Thursday evening! Exciting! We also apart our Nct classes tonight which I am looking forward to.

Anyone who is suffering from spd, did it come on suddenly? Since Saturday I've got horrendous pain in my left pelvis when I put weight through my legs. No pain with opening them or anything, just transfer of weight so I was wondering if I'm suffering spd or have just injured myself.

Danni89 · 20/06/2016 12:27

Yayyy bala exciting!! Hope your NCT class goes well

7 week countdown at work Grin

Dilligufdarling · 20/06/2016 14:31

bala I have good days and bad days at the moment with the SPD.
And yes, it does come out of no-where! Mine is worse with weight transfer - stairs and climbing out of swimming pools etc are just nasty.
Mostly it's gone the next day though, just a dull sort of back ground ache.

Bobbycatz · 20/06/2016 18:17

Ooh bala exciting about the scan. I don't start NCT until next month so I'm intrigued about the whole thing so you'll have to report back.

shabbychic1 · 20/06/2016 20:20

How was the NCT class? We start ours tomorrow, exciting! Grin

sparkleshine83 · 20/06/2016 20:50

bala I had a really interesting sudden onset spd... I'd had minor pelvic aches and my sister had warned me that it could get much worse but wasn't much worried. I went to visit some friends for a long weekend and during the evening made the apparently foolish mistake of dashing across an event hall - proper running, but it couldn't have been more than 20 yards! After this excitable sprint I stopped and then realised when I tried to move again I couldn't walk properly anymore... had to be half-inched to a seat and then my partner had to walk me back to our (nearby!) hotel traveling at zombie speed... obviously did myself an injury but although it's definitely healed and improved from what it was that night it's markedly worse than it was before that. I spent that night at the hotel alternatively shouting at my partner 'cause he was moving on the bed and every movement jolted me and hurt and then crying because he offered to sleep on the floor and I knew I was being irrational but I felt I didn't want him to go far away from me either... poor man has been a star, nay, legend the last month or so!

balalalala · 20/06/2016 22:13

Oh no, sorry to hear about your spd experiences! I really hope that's not what I'm suffering from!

Nct class was interesting! We're doing the essentials course so it's spread over 3 weeks. There's 7 other couples so more than I was expecting. Everyone seemed really nice - surprisingly there's 3 of us with the same due date! The teacher seems nice enough although I do wonder if I would be better off not knowing half the stuff that's going to happen, ignorance is bliss and all that!

balalalala · 20/06/2016 22:14

Oops meant 5 weeks!

Runningbutnotscared · 20/06/2016 22:19

Hi,
Its been a wee while since I checked in here - I think the last time was around feb.

Hope everyone is well. I'm hoping to join in a bit as its finally hit me that I'm having a baby in a few months and I should probably prepare a little. :)

CustardOmlet · 20/06/2016 23:11

I've also not been about, 27wks and still avoiding anything resembling nesting. Gutting the kitchen next week which will be fun!!! Hope everyone is doing well (too much to catch up) but anyone else on their 2nd+ pregnancy notice they are carrying completely differently? With my eldest son he was very low, got lots of braxton hicks from 18wks and seemed to spread. This time he is up in my ribs, giving my heart burn and painful hips, a full frontal bump but only one BH.

Dilligufdarling · 21/06/2016 07:10

Hey custard and running! Welcome back Smile

I'm on my second as well custard and yes this one is totally different. We haven't found out what I'm having (same as last time) but it's been a very different pregnancy all round.
I've had morning sickness this time, took much longer to 'pop' and am now much neater than last time (less spready!) heartburn has started waaaay earlier, the hip pain doesn't seem as bad (yet!) and I've got lots more energy generally.
Wierd isn't it!

How's the rest of your pregnancy going? Kitchen ripping sounds like fun Smile
I'm doing supervising a house move next week!

Runningbutnotscared · 21/06/2016 11:49

I'm also on my second pregnancy, not noticed that I'm carrying differently (although the last one was a boy and this one is a girl) but have noticed that my body seems to slowly be giving up on me. I have spd and am being seen (but not particularly helped) by Physio services this time.
The same heart burn / ingestion as last time.

I'm moving cities either at either eight months or one month post birth - can't decide which is the worse option?!?!

sparkleshine83 · 21/06/2016 20:11

Runningbutnotscared, I feel you. My housing situation is a bit of a nightmare at the moment because the flat we were renting has become straightforward uninhabitable (rat infestation, bedroom ceiling plaster cracking) and the house purchase for our new baby is DRAGGING ON INTERMINABLY. I desperately want to nest but can't, I'm sleeping on my mother's sofa bed... and like you I really don't fancy trying to move house in a mad rush at 8 months or a few months after the baby is born!

On the plus side, we'll have some stories to tell our little one when they're old enough about how it was when I was pregnant... probably look back and laugh!

Heartburn also driving me mad :D

sparklystars20 · 22/06/2016 09:43

Hi all, sorry to those suffering and fingers crossed for those of you planning an imminent move that it goes smoothly!

We're in the process of selling our first house that we bought together which I'm finding remarkably emotional considering we haven't lived in it for about 5 years!! (rented it out as we moved away and lived in several houses since!)

I'm also suffering from SPD which is incredibly frustrating as it is massively limiting what I can do. I know I should be grateful to have an excuse to sit on the sofa for ages but I get soooo bored!

We're signed up for the NCT course towards the end of July as only a one day NHS course available to us and we don't know many people round here so looking forward to meeting other couples about to embark on this crazy journey!

BrewCakeFlowers to all Smile

Love the pics danni - how lovely to see the wee one Smile

Sorry to hear some have SPD, must makes things tough and even more tiring. I've had an up and down first two weeks of mat leave with some sad news which has made me anxious. Does anyone know anything about blood pressure?

Usually my BP is 100/60 - 110/70 so it sometimes hits on the border with low blood pressure but I've never had any probs. Today it is 130/69 which now counts as pre-high BP. Nurse didn't seem concerned but I'm worried that I could be harming unborn baby. My BP hasn't been this high before so I think it's down to feeling anxious so worrying about it isn't going to help!

OP posts:
Womenareliketeabags · 22/06/2016 19:55

shares textbook BP is 120/70. Your blood pressure of 130/69 is fine, your blood pressure is supposed to rise and fall it's a natural thing, high bp becomes an issue when it is permenantly high and higher that 130/69. Your BP naturally rises after caffeine, when your rushing, anxiety, stress. Do any of these count?
As far as pre-eclampsia is concerned it has to be measurements of over 140 on two separate occasions.

I had my whooping cough vaccine this morning and already have an achey arm 😬

Sharesinpampers · 22/06/2016 20:31

Thank you - that's really reassuring. Things have been stressful recently but plans in action to make things manageable. I'm confident the stress is short term.

My sister had pre-eclampsia and I've been keeping a watchful eye this time around. I think that was why I was worried in part.

Cute story, my 2yo DD watched my sis BF my baby niece. Now DD's dolly gets milk from her tummy! Rolls up her t-shirt and sticks dolly on her belly button Grin

Gosh I feel for all those suffering with spd, hopefully it won't get too much worse.

Shabby how was your NCT class?

It seems that there are a lot of house moves going on, we've been looking to move but have decided to wait until I return to work next year as I'm not sure if my pregnancy will affect our mortgage offer, also i'm kind of waiting to see what will happen with the referendum. Hopefully all your moves will go nice and smoothly!

Shares I don't know much about blood pressure but I'm sure if it was an issue the nurse would have been more concerned. It's worth keeping an eye on it and being vigilant for any other symptoms but it may just be a one off.

My tiredness has kicked in again ahi approach the third trimester but hey ho, one step closer to meeting baby.

Weezie85 · 23/06/2016 07:33

Hello, can anyone join. Just found this part of mumsnet. This is my 2nd, due 10th September

Annarose2014 · 23/06/2016 08:45

Welcome weezie!

This is my 2nd too. Carrying a lot wider and much worse spd this time. Generally more uncomfortable and knackered so am counting the weeks till it's over!

My BP is always on the low side (

Sharesinpampers · 23/06/2016 10:11

Thanks everyone, feeling much better today Smile

Welcome weezie, this is number two for me too. Are you finding it a bit more tiring this time around?

Dilligufdarling · 23/06/2016 10:23

Hey weezle welcome aboard Grin

Had my mw app yesterday and she has confirmed that I shouldn't have a cannula on arriving at hospital if i don't want or need one.
Also she's actually leaving community midwifery and moving to my hospital, so may end up with her delivering my baby! That would be brilliant as she'd be a fab advocate.

Re blood pressure I know that this can change massively throughout the day so I'd not worry for one unusual reading.

SPD seems to have dropped away slightly over the past couple of days so hopefully that will stay like that for a bit!

Oh, and we exchanged contracts on our house yesterday! Wooooohoooo! Moving day is next Thursday GrinGrinGrin

Sharesinpampers · 23/06/2016 11:22

Congrats dilli that's very exciting! Hope the move goes well 😀 And really glad your MW is supportive.

Dilligufdarling · 23/06/2016 12:16

Thanks shares GrinGrinGrin am so excited!!
We've been sort of camping out at my mil's for a few months since our own house sale so it will be so nice to put down proper roots!

I loved your story about your DD bfing her dolly - that's so cute!!
I'm not sure my DS believes me that the baby is going to drink milk from my nipples. But am also fairly sure he thinks the whole "new baby thing" is a game we're playing with him!

Hope your plans to mitigate stressful situations continue well
