I couldn't post on last thread so hope everyone finds this one!

Great pic annaB and what a lucky girl having four big brothers! I always wanted a big brother and not just because I imagined he'd have cute friends

AnnaR hope you're feeling better now. And glad everyone else seems to be doing ok. I turned 17 weeks a couple of days ago and so so so thankful that I'm eventually feeling much better! Absolutely wiped out by the end of the day but able to eat more now so I think energy will be back soon Smile

DH is off today, yay! Family coming for lunch and the sun is out...happy days

Dilli I'm glad your. Scan was ok in the end, must have been worrying for a while! So pleased your little one is ok. I asked if we were looking at the head and she said it was the tummy! They are difficult to read lol!

lettherebe ouch! I hope your knee is ok soon!

Went to my mctimmony chiropractor today and she's made my back and neck feel so much better. I can't lie on the table on my tummy anymore so had to sit in the backwards chair thing but it was really effective! I'll sleep well tonight! Grin

Aceberry · 12/05/2016 21:12

Hi everyone - haven't posted for a while but lovely to read how others are getting on. I'm 21 weeks now and getting quite breathless . Is anyone else finding this?

shabbychic1 · 13/05/2016 11:04

aceberry yes! I'm 22 weeks today and have felt more breathless for a couple of weeks especially in stairs and hills! Feel very unfit! Grin

MrsCeee · 13/05/2016 12:07

Haha yes! I've been getting quite breathless lately, Aceberry. I feel quite unfit going up the (very small) hill to our park. My 13 year old niece offered to push the pram for me because she could see I was clearly struggling the other day. It was quite funny.

Dilligufdarling · 13/05/2016 12:24

Hi all,
Thanks for the messages - was a great relief to get the final ok!
I'm a bit surprised how small this one is measuring, DS (who tbf did end up being an oversized 10lb-er) was at the top end of every percentile in measurement.
I've also always been 99th percentile for height/length etc and so is dh. This one is around 40% for everything!
I'm not quite sure how our mammoth clumpy family will cope with a little delicate thing!
I've been referred for some growth scans - more to do with the bleeding in the first tri run anything else, so maybe this one's just a slow starter Smile

Dilligufdarling · 13/05/2016 12:32

aceberr, shabby and mrs cree I've not been breathless as such, just get worn out veeeeeery quickly and have to slow down.
Walking up hills and stairs take much more time than it should!

Has anyone got any history of declining recomonded medical treatment in birth?
Due to a large pph last time, it's been recommended that I'm cannulated as soon as I get to hospital in labour.
I'm really really keen to avoid too much medicalisation this time as I think this affected how things went last time.
I'd rather wait and see if I need a cannular than have one "just in case".
DH will support me, but I know that his instinct is to follow the medical advice rather than question.

Annarose2014 · 13/05/2016 13:04

Just say "I'd rather not be cannulated unless I need either the drip or fluids thanks. Lets just see how I go".

If they make cats bum faces and talk about "saving time" just answer that since it only takes a minute if needed, you'd rather hold off until it is, thanks.

Sounds like such a typical doctor thing to request, as it's a total arse covering exercise - hopefully the midwives will have common sense about it.

Yes to breathlessness! For a few weeks now. Also heartburn as I'm carrying high. The breathlessness is more of a pain though as I've loads of energy and want to do everything and when I get knackered I get so cross about it!

Dilligufdarling · 13/05/2016 18:38

Thanks anna.
I think I'll have a chat with my MW to that effect and put it in my birth plan.
I don't mind if it becomes necessary, but if I go in and am treated like a potential emergency from the start then I honestly believe I'm more likely to have interventions than otherwise.
I'm going to brief dh a lot over the next 19 weeks to be my advocate as well. He'll be brilliant and fight my corner like a lion (once I get him on board!)

ChocolateTeacup · 14/05/2016 09:31

I am on DC3 30, Due 10/09 - Team Yellow

I am trying to work out how to get my DH to advocate for me and not roll over to the medical staff unless needed!!

I am struggling with SPD already on crutches and want to train him to Say "Gas & Pool" Grin

ChocolateTeacup · 14/05/2016 09:34

Could someone pm the details of the Facebook group please?

Sharesinpampers · 14/05/2016 09:45

Hello everyone, haven't been on for a while but caught up this morning. Lovely to hear of lots more scans!

I'm getting sore hips and back in bed, anyone got any tips? Tried a pillow between my legs and last time I put a duvet under the sheet to soften things but neither helped. Physio exercises had little impact too.

Apart from that I'm enjoying this phase of pregnancy. Not too huge, not feeling sick etc.

0hCrepe · 15/05/2016 20:15

No advice unfortunately but I too get sore hips in bed from lying on my side. Also think I'm starting with spd, if I've been standing up for longer than 5 minutes I get a bruised fanny feeling! Heartburn seems to be stepping up too.. Moan moan!

Hopefully going to nyc over bank hols (cheap with family connections with airline) to give the big dc a last 'grown up' holiday. Bit scared of the flying and walking but I'm going to brave it! Anyone else got travel plans?

sparklystars20 · 15/05/2016 20:56

Hi all, sorry to hear of those suffering with SPD & aches & pains - I'm with you!

I got aches & pains early on so bought a dreamgenii maternity pillow off eBay and whilst it took several days to get used to (& it can make me a bit warm!) it is now my best friend and really helps make the nights more comfortable as you find different positions to sleep with it in!!! Hmm
Even took it away with me this weekend & I will be taking it anywhere I stay overnight!

After waiting 3 weeks I'm finally going to a 'pregnancy pain management' physio class tomorrow morn - will let you know if they have any useful suggestions Smile

Also has anyone got experience of leaky boobs yet?!?! Blush

shabbychic1 · 15/05/2016 20:59

Ohcrepe we're going away at Spring Bank for our 'baby moon' (?? Well, last I time I can fly well before the birth, is that what a baby moon is??!) and we normally walk a lot on European short breaks. Last time we went away (Easter) we did about 18000 steps a day (for 5 days) which is a lot more than I usually do in everyday life. I felt as if I was bruised too after the first day! Especially when I sat down. Not had it since but I have said to DH that if is it's too much walking I might need to go and relax in the hotel while he does more sightseeing. Hope you enjoy NY, it's fab! Grin

balalalala · 15/05/2016 21:41

shares I'm sure you'll have an amazing time, although yes, quite a lot of walking. Although there are at least plenty of cabs around. shabby where are you off to?

We're going to florence at the start of June which I can't wait for! Planning to do a lot of lying by the pool and eating ice cream.

0hCrepe · 15/05/2016 22:25

Ooh lots of exciting travel plans! So nice it's warming up a bit too, mind you we'll all be waddling and sweaty in August!!
I've had slightly leaky boobs- yellow dried stuff (nice!) I'm not squeezing them at all to encourage it though.

liberuna · 16/05/2016 17:42

Been dipping in and out. Definitely breathless acebberr
Good news dilli
chocolate I wrote everything down on a list for oh of my preferred treatment and put in order of priority .

So starting with smaller options building up to biggie decisions. At the very end noting anything that I absolutely didn't want no matter want.

The list format makes it easy to read in tense situations and makes your wishes clear

Annabrooke90 · 17/05/2016 07:49

Hi everyone.

Dilli I had an APH and PPH with ds1. With all the rest of my labours I had to be cannulated and with ds2 they had me labour in the HDU unit as that's where I ended up with ds1. I will be cannulated this time too. I never rejected it because they just kind of told me that's what would happen so felt like I hadn't got much choice. It does make things worse though. All my labours and births have been highly medicalised, stuck to monitors laid on my back being told not to move and then quite a few interventions in some etc. I really want this birth to go smoothly where I no longer feel afraid of another PPH. But I'm already having nightmares. I think that's because they have told me time and time again I'm at an even higher risk this time with the last one and because it naturally increases the risk when you have so many babies. Do what you think is best for you. :)

I'm getting breathless too walking upstairs etc.

So my uni offer did get brought forward and I start in September. I have until next week for work deadline at college and I have four more assignments to go. Had 16 to do in three months. Ouch. The pressure is on.

beakish · 17/05/2016 09:15

Hello everyone! I signed up to mumsnet today to join this group. I'm due my first baby and am 24+4, due 2nd September. I'm living in Dublin and have been posting on an Irish forum and found it so helpful - first pregnancy and I'm a bit clueless plus it's so nice to chat to others going through the same thing.

I'm moving to London at 31/32 weeks so thought it would be a good idea to sign up here, if I'm not too late to the party.

I'm at a hospital appointment in Dublin now and will be telling them about the move to London this morning...lots to work out, we only made the decision to move last week.

So that's me...looking forward to chatting and I hope you're all having a good day so far.

Dollface136 · 17/05/2016 12:14

Hi all, can I join?
First time mummy, expecting a little girl on 27th September.
Had my scan last week, all normal although have to go back at 34 weeks as she felt my placenta was on the "lower side" of what they would like.
Fingers crossed it moves itself as I really want to be in a birthing centre!

Tazlet · 17/05/2016 12:35

welcome beakish! At last I have a DD twin! And I'm London based so can welcome you when you get over here!!

Annabrooke90 · 17/05/2016 14:06

Welcome beakish and doll :)

MrsCeee · 17/05/2016 14:39

Welcome Beakish and Doll. Will you be finding out the gender of the babies?

You've not got long to go with the move, Beakish.

Congratulations with uni Annabrooke! It seems to have all worked out in the end.

Dollface136 · 17/05/2016 14:39

Thanks Annabrooke90.
I see lots of you are suffering the joys of being breathless. So glad it's not just me! I was pretty fit before pregnancy, and admittedly my level of exercise has fallen off a cliff, but I haven't changed my healthy eating habits and have been so surprised how little I can now do at 21 weeks before becoming breathless and tired.

I was suffering with a little lower back pain, but my mw said that was because I am not used to having a tummy and might be arching my back rather than keeping it straight to compensate. I got myself one of those big U shaped pillows to sleep in and it's been amazing! I sleep, well, like a baby haha.

Anyone started buying things yet? I've become a bit addicted to ebay. Blush

Danni89 · 17/05/2016 14:49

Welcome newbies and hello to everyone else!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Nothing really to report here.. Baby is moving lots. I feel like time is just going sooo fast! Need to start buying a lot more- feel so behind
