Thread #4 - TTC#1 the one where Stark joins the grads!!!!

Runner05 · 21/03/2016 12:33

Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

I'm 14w tomorrow Indi and DH reckons he can see that I'm pregnant now. I think I just look tubby. I'm in that crap stage of jeans are really uncomfortable and too tight but I feel stupid looking at maternity trousers as I don't really have a bump yet. Awkward.

In happy news, first baby purchase just made 😍

(Just bedding, not cot. Won't let me paste a link (?!) hence photos rather than a link)

That bedding is lovely irregular!
I'm seeing a lot of girls I haven't seen for ages, tomorrow. We'll see what they say about my apparent bump. I just feel normal atm but a bit rounder and less toned, I can't imagine other people would notice it though..just looks like I've had a big meal. I'll attach pic and see what you think.
I agree though this is the awkward stage of clothes starting to look/feel tighter but not ready for full maternity wardrobe yet.
Nev that's a lovely bump, these proper bumps make me a bit jealous!

indi you still look very toned to me! I'm around the same as you (I'm 13+4) and I have a fuller tummy and have completely lost any stomach definition. Isn't it funny how we all change shapes at completely different rates!

IndiX · 06/04/2016 22:08

Thanks Miley, that's first thing this morning though. By evening I look 6 months gone!!

Sodasoda · 06/04/2016 22:28

I just thought I felt baby move for first time and then realised it was my phone vibrating on top of me! Blush

shelbTa · 07/04/2016 08:09

Morning

How is everyone?

Haha, that's funny soda!

Indi well jel of your tiny frame!

Nice little bump Lauren!

I'll do another pic today. Had a shit night - nausea, cramps again. Potato - did you say your nausea had come back? I'm seeing the midwife today - fist time since booking in appointment as they 'forgot' my 16 week. Guna have a proper moan!!!

X

leoniethelioness · 07/04/2016 08:11

I don't know how to make my 16 week appointment! The GP surgery didn't know and the midwife hasn't replied to my text message asking to arrange one. I don't know who to call to sort it out. I'm 16 weeks on Wednesday...

PotatosMum · 07/04/2016 08:15

Laurn ah, the wonder of baby brain. I think my vocabulary has actually halved since getting pregnant and baring in mind I live in a one bed flat, the number of times I walk to the other room and have no idea why when I get there is quite worrying Confused

Blimey Nev that's a good bump for 16+4 Grin

Aww, cute bedding Irregular but take it from me, once you've bought one thing you just won't be able to stop!

Definitely a mini bump there Indi Smile

Soda that made me properly lol! Grin

So, Potato has now decided it's a good idea to wake me up in the morning by giving me a kick thanks for that I think he might be starting to get into a routine now though, which is good as I'll be able to monitor him.

I've decided that today I will mostly be in bed. Been feeling increasingly rough the past couple of days and now I appear to have a bit of a cold so I've decided sod it, I'm calling in sick.

PotatosMum · 07/04/2016 08:18

Shelb yes! The past week I've been feeling really sick if I don't eat practically all the time, just live the beginning of morning sickness the first time... I'm still trying to pretend it isn't happening.

Leonie can't your GP surgery make an appointment for you? Maybe call the community midwife and have a moan?

BunchOfBobs · 07/04/2016 08:31

Morning all,

Indi you look so amazing!! Soda that really made me giggle Grin. Nev love the bump!! irregular adorable bedding, will lo be using it form newborn as I read bumpers were a no no to begin with?

Potato hope the day in bed gets you feeling back to normal. I've been waking up so much through the last few nights (every 1-1.5 hours Angry), I lie there for a minute or two and then realise it's because the little wriggler is having a dance party !!

LaraG13 · 07/04/2016 09:08

Hi all! Loving the bumps, big and small. You all look lovely. I have a little bump/bloat/fat at 11 weeks but I don't think it'd be noticeable as pregnancy to anyone who didn't know how my stomach looked before.

I don't know how anyone managed to work through the first trimester. I still feel sick all the time and crushingly tired. I'm vomiting less though this last week so I suppose that's something to be glad of.

Is anyone reading any books about caring for a newborn baby? I'd be glad of any recommendations. I know pretty much nothing except that you need to feed them now and then 😄

Nevlet · 07/04/2016 13:53

Indi I wish I looked that in shape pre pregnancy haha!

We are having a nightmare of trying to come up with any boys names we which we like and go with DP/baby's last name. I know we have a while to decide but it does panic me we have nothing so far.

Names we like but that don't go with last name (two syllables begin with B - like Bolton but not quite)

Reef
Oak
Coast
Finch

Names I like and think sound good with last name, but DP does not like

Roscoe
Atlas

Any suggestions?!

Mileymoocow · 07/04/2016 14:11

lara I'm in to my 7th week off work, I definitely couldn't have struggled through! I felt a little guilty at first but not now. I know I needed this time off.

Been out for a small walk and a cup of tea with my friend. She has a 1 year old little boy and he is absolutely the most gorgeous little dude ever, I totally love him. Anyway, we got to discussing pushchairs and she recommended a few makes that would suit us as we're always out and about and love a good dog walk. Anyone heard of Phil and teds? I thought I had my mind made up, didn't realise bloody wheel size and the way it folds would be a factor.

Co5mo · 07/04/2016 14:40

My friend has a Phil and ted. She has a downs child who has needed the pushchair for longer than normal and swears by it because of it's air tyres. Another friend swears by her babyjogger city mini for foldability. You can now get one with the air tyres too so I'm off to have a look at them.

shelbTa · 07/04/2016 17:36

Bump watch at 19+3!

Pinklily1 · 07/04/2016 18:32

Looking good Shelb!

Miley, I've heard really good things about the City Jogger too.

Nev, not sure if they are up your street but i like Otto for a boy, and also Atticus. I loved Arlo but that seems to be becoming popular now. Your list is a bit quirky so I'm assuming you don't want the standard Oliver and George suggestions!

Pinklily1 · 07/04/2016 18:33

Also, Kirstie Allsop (tv presenter lady) has an Atlas and another little boy called Bay, they go well together.

Mileymoocow · 07/04/2016 19:18

indi it's insane how big I am by evening! I'll post a photo (and a one my partner took at the gym about a month before I fell pregnant for comparison!) I look very bloated/tubby at 13+5 and can't wait for a proper bump. Also, ignore the collection of baby stuff in the background! The room will be the nursery and is currently being used as storage until it's painted

Mileymoocow · 07/04/2016 19:21

shelb you have such a cute little bump!

I haven't looked at the baby joggers but thanks for the suggestion. Another to add to my ever growing list!

IndiX · 07/04/2016 19:21

Aww thanks for your kind words ladies, definitely cheered up my day seeing your nice comments.
Shelb that's such a cute little bump.
Miley that's what I'm like, I really pop out at night time. I look huge! You look fab though before and after bump. I know what you mean I feel flabby more than bumpy atm though.

Nevlet · 07/04/2016 19:32

Thanks pink i really like atticus but my oldest best friend from school has that pegged down already and I can't take that from her haha!

We do like Bay (suggested by some friends as OH and I are big into the VW scene and a bay is a type of campervan haha) but don't like it with the surname.

As we are both teachers we have so many names which associate at least one child we have taught so are after something we have never heard at school before!

Pinklily1 · 07/04/2016 19:33

Miley, you look fab! I would love to have your abs in the pre pregnancy shot, and your bump is so cute!

Mileymoocow · 07/04/2016 19:34

Thanks indi. I've had maybe a small/average bowl of pasta for tea and I've just expanded! Such an awkward stage, jeans fit in the morning and by 5pm I have to get in to my pyjama bottoms.

I keep wondering if I'll ever get back into shape properly but I'm dealing with it now and know it'll be worth it! I had an eating disorder and suffered horrible anxiety and the gym was the only way I found could help me. Then I started obsessing over that! It's probably done me some good to have some time away but I struggled at first.

Mileymoocow · 07/04/2016 19:35

Thanks pink!

nev I can't help with baby name suggestions as I'm absolutely hopeless! I'm sure whatever you decide will be beautiful

Laurenrl · 07/04/2016 20:13

Nev, How about:

Orion
Marvyn
Chester
Triston

Some more unique names I like :)

My bf loves more traditional names so we're trying to find unusual and traditional haha. We have 2 girl names we love and it will be one or the other if it's a girl but we can't decide on anything firm for boys. I find out in 9 days too! (17 week private scan as my 20 week scan is at 23 weeks and can't wait that long)
