Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

I hope you are feeling better, girls! DH says I'm not allowed to buy anything until 20 weeks. Our house is chaotic at the moment as we are redecorating so it is no bad thing! Plasterers are coming this week to do two rooms and our hallway. I'm hoping they can do the rest next month and then we can paint and buy new carpets.

DH has vetoed my latest baby name suggestion: Fraser. I thought it was really nice too! I was going to suggest Callum next but apparently it's a naughty boys' name?!?!

Mileymoocow · 03/04/2016 22:14

indi we bought all nursery furniture/moses basket/bedding in the 30% off sale. We saved an absolute fortune. We also bought our bottle set for £60 down from £150 which was brilliant. I have several gro bags and my mum has ordered us a bouncer. I'm sure we'll think of small things we've missed though. We have a stack of muslins, but they're so handy for lots of things

Mileymoocow · 03/04/2016 22:17

Leonie fraser is a lovely name, it was on our shortlist! We made a shortlist and decided I would chose boy name and OH would chose girl name from the final 3 that we agreed on.

The only naughty callum I can think of is callum best! I like it too Smile

PotatosMum · 03/04/2016 22:26

Shelb I often get sharp pains in my groin area, I think they are lovely stretching pains again.

Miley I will not be posting outside of the pregnancy section again. So many of the people on MN are vicious little sheeple and it's just not worth accidentally offending them Hmm
Oh and at 26 you are most definitely not a baby having a baby, that's just silly.

Indi I'm leaving clothes until I know the sex with the exception of a couple of neutral things I've seen. There are just too many cute outfits I want but I need to know if I'm buying my little pony or Star Wars who am I kidding, girl or boy there will be Star Wars

While we're talking about buying baby things, I get a really cute winne the pooh sleep bag yesterday for £13 in ASDA. I've been looking at them online and they're so expensive so I thought that was a bargain! I think I shall go back for some more basics as they're so cheap and seem good quality Smile

I'm shattered after this weekend. We've been trying to get the flat ready for viewings and I think I may have overdone it a little, add to that Potato seems to have had another growth spurt the joy of hurty over stretched muscles and itchy over tight skin and I'm just a ball of discomfort Hmm

leoniethelioness · 03/04/2016 22:34

Mikey That's not abad strategy! All of the names I like for boys are really commonplace like Henry and Joshua and I'd prefer something a little more unusual. There are 3.5k new babies called Henry every year and even more Joshuas!

ImpYCelyn · 03/04/2016 22:49

Potato Asia basics are fab. I particularly recommend their vests, which are so cheap that in the worst case poonami you can just get scissors and cut them off the baby... Or throw them away without cutting (obviously remove baby first Wink)

Miley you're so organise! I got everything sorted early too with DS1, this time I feel disappointingly organised, as we don't really need anything. If you like to be organised, I recommend that if people give you clothes you keep a running tally of what you have on each size, and then exchange stuff for sizes you're missing. We had loads of 3-6 months and did this. Places like Next are really easy for that. IME people don't mind if you change the size (and don't remember) they just like to see the thing they bought on the baby at some point.

Leonie I really like Fraser and Callum! Good names! We each make a shortlist, swap, cross off ones we hate, narrow down what we like, put it away for a bit, get it out, narrow it down again... and then decide on something completely different HmmGrin a conversation in passing about a year ago picked our girls name this time, we'll have to think girls a boy.

Co5mo sadly it mainly depends how late they're running Hmm with a bit of luck you'll be all done in about 45 mins, but my 12w scan for DS2 I was there for over 2 hrs as they were so behind!

Shelb sorry you still have cramps! I really hope they ease off soon!

No news here. Cramps have eased a little, but still there. Pg symptoms still all gone. Will phone gp tomorrow.

BunchOfBobs · 04/04/2016 07:51

Leonine Fraser and Callum are both lovely names, we have a Fraser in the family.

Potato. I know the pain of growth spurts well. The skin on my bump gets so sore and I swear you can see the skin being pulled with the weight.
I got a beating at bedtime last night, Pip has had a relatively relaxed weekend with only internal kickings and flutters. Last night he decided to show me he can still kickbox and even DH said a "woah". I can't seem to ignore him when he does it as I feel rude haha, so I rub back or prod back to every one and we end up having a mini poke fight. He kept me awake ages the little sod.

I might be going to my first bumps and babies group this morning. I'm friends with a colleague of DHs and she has just had a lo, she's off to one today and has invited me along. Is it weird I'm nervous?

Co5mo · 04/04/2016 08:07

I'd be nervous too Bunch. It's a bit like test driving a car when you've already spent the £15000 to order new one!

Thanks Impy I work at the hospital so they've promised to get me in quickly. I'd like to think that's for discretion but it's more likely to be to get me back to work asap!

Pinklily1 · 04/04/2016 08:31

Morning ladies

Hope everyone is well (despite the fact it's Monday Hmm).

Bunch, id be nervous too, but I'm sure it will be fine.

For clothes buying, we are hoping to find out baby's sex but that hasn't been the reason why we haven't bought any clothes yet. We'll still buy neutral stuff regardless, because people tend to buy you pink or blue when the baby actually comes, and I want a bit of variety in the poor things wardrobe! Plus two of my friends have been told they are having a girl and then actually had a boy and vide versa Shock

Pinklily1 · 04/04/2016 08:33

*vice versa

ImpYCelyn · 04/04/2016 08:59

Oh Pink that must have been such a pain! That happened to a friend and she found it really hard to mentally adjust, she reckoned it took about 6 weeks to accept she actually had a girl. We obviously have loads of boys clothes, but they are pretty gender neutral, lots of Oshkosh dungarees and various coloured tops. When we were expecting ds1 my sil gave me a big bag of baby clothes, including loads f dresses and pink tops, as it was before we knew. I knew we were planning two close together, so I kept them just in case... I found them all the other day, so we'll see if we need them for dc3 lol!

ImpYCelyn · 04/04/2016 09:01

Bunch it's really nerve wracking walking into any group that's new to you, but Im sure you'll be fine and have a lovely time!

Ah, that's good Co5mo, in that case should be about 20-30 mins Smile

ImpYCelyn · 04/04/2016 09:13

I phoned the gp, I've got an appointment at 4.20 on Thursday. And they gave me the phone number for the midwives wh do the booking in. But I have to leave them a voicemail and then they call back, so I'll leave that til I'm back in England, and I'll be almost 6 weeks, if all is going well!

Felt sick this morning. Struggling to let myself see it as a good thing though, convinced it's just because I had a really dough night with ds2.

Peaches8Posies · 04/04/2016 09:41

Morning everyone hope your all well.

bunch good luck but I'm sure you'll be fine. Hopefully you meet a few nice ladies who you can meet with once the little one arrives 😊

imp glad your getting sorted once home. If your getting sick it sounds like things are progressing as they should. I'm still not too bad sickness wise and still have that little voice in my head thinking does that mean somethings wrong 😐 pregnancy really is a minefield! Relax and think positive x

potato NEVER venture away again! Haha they are a bunch of predators waiting to pounce! Seriously though, there's some truly angry women on here, literally up for arguing over anything. Screw them, the world's made up of different people with different views and opinions. Their problem if they can't respect that!

Your name choices are all lovely. I have a strong feelings I'm having a boy, and I know for a fact it's going to be a long road to picking a name for a boy we both like and agree on. Girls names seem easier for us. leoine I'm in the same boat as you. I liked Luke and Oliver but it's now very common where we live, and my cousin has recently used luke for her little boy. I guess if you really like it just go with it. Do you hear your names a lot where you live? Although they are popular on 'lists' you might be lucky and not have many near you ☺

Mileymoocow · 04/04/2016 10:02

I chose Harrison for a boy and OH wants Emelia for a girl. It's supposed to be a common name but I don't know of any so it doesn't bother me. I figured if I liked it then so what Smile I love Oliver, but my best friend has one, OHs best friend has one and my cousin just had one. There's a reason it's popular though, it's a beautiful name.

ImpYCelyn · 04/04/2016 10:26

I teach in a girls school Miley and have yet to reach an Emilia! Harrison is great too!

Thanks Peaches, it is really hard in the early weeks when you have so little control. Luke and Oliver are lovely! I know one little Luke, and DS1 knows a couple of Oliver's at school, but I wouldn't say they're super popular Smile

ImpYCelyn · 04/04/2016 10:26

Emelia, sorry! But haven't taught one of those either Wink

Peaches8Posies · 04/04/2016 11:11

miley i like Harrison too. I know a little boy by that name and he's a lovely little thing, totally suits him. Emilia/Emelia is on my girls list too.

imp whenever I seem to pick a name I hear someone using it just before me, but unless it's someone super close I'm not going to let it put me off.

Unless we pick something completely original there's always going to be someone else who has liked it too so no point worrying. As you said miley they are used because they are great choices 😊

Mileymoocow · 04/04/2016 12:10

impy brilliant. It can't be that popular then! I like grace (friends little girl is grace) and Freya too but OH has made his mind up and I'm happy with our choice!

peaches good taste Wink I've always like Harrison, I think it's a timeless name and isn't too wayward or popular. If we have a boy his middle name will be Robert (tradition on OH's side). I want winter as a middle name if we have a girl but OH isn't keen at all

ImpYCelyn · 04/04/2016 12:56

Good call, I teach 5 Graces this year, and had some last year too. One Freya last year, she didn't leave a good impression...

ImpYCelyn · 04/04/2016 14:02

Right I know this isn't the most scientific method in the world, but I'm going mad trying to hang on until Thursday. When I did HPT last Saturday, I was 3+6 and it was a CBD and said 1-2 weeks. The bleeding and cramps started on the Tuesday and have been going on since. So I figured if I did another CBD it would show me if my levels have gone up (tentatively good sign), stayed the same (over 9 days, bad sign), gone down (def bad sign). So I just did one, random middle of the day urine, and I got pregnant 2-3!!! So this is good, right? I'm 5+1, so that makes sense in terms of hormone increase, right? It a week and 2 days more, so if I was just over the one week level, I could still be just under the 3+ level?

I'm hoping I can stress a little bit less (obviously I'm still going to stress, because that is what the first trimester is for, but less...).

ImpYCelyn · 04/04/2016 14:03

And first positive was with FMU so concentrated hormones, and this one wasn't...

ImpYCelyn · 04/04/2016 14:03

Sorry I'm being such a mentalist!

PotatosMum · 04/04/2016 14:27

Lol Imp you're allowed to be mental, it's part of the process Wink

You're right, it's not the most reliable gauge but it does sound like your hormone levels are increasing as they should.
Just hang in there and try not to worry.

I'm a bit concerned that in starting to feel a bit nauseous when I'm not eating again. I know morning sickness can return in the third trimester (ok, I know I'm not there yet but I bloody feel like I am!) I'm hoping I've just been making myself over tired and need to rest more.
Feeling properly grumpy today, I'm struggling not to have a go at anyone but I just want to be in a dark room away from them all!

shelbTa · 04/04/2016 17:28

Hi ladies

Loads of chat, trying to catch up.

Imp - that sounds really encouraging, I've got Everything crossed for you.

Bunch - that is bloody organised!! Are you planning on stocking up on nappies? We are stockpiling baby wipes when we see them on offer - figured you can't have too many!!

Oh no potato - hope it doesn't return, surely not.

Well, no more bleeding for me, just continual spasm cramps all over my abdomen all day. Midwife said it could be braxton hicks Hmm seeing her on Thursday for check up.
