Thread #4 - TTC#1 the one where Stark joins the grads!!!!

Runner05 · 21/03/2016 12:33

Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

Imp that's awful, so sorry you've had to go through that. I dunno - maybe waiting until you can see a uk maternity unit / a and e might be less stressful than trying to fight through the French system?

Potato, yeah, there are some absolute twats on here.

Well bleeding seems to have stopped, but lying here with cramps.

X

PotatosMum · 03/04/2016 07:18

Shelb well at least the bleeding has stopped. Do you think anything in particular caused it? Overdoing it, shagging... Overdoing shagging etc? Wink
Hopefully the cramps are just growing pains and there will be no more scariness x

My OH is really worrying about us moving. We still have to sell my flat and find a property and I only have 5 months max before Potato arrives OH is also convinced he'll be early so is really nervous about timings but I really want to be in the new house before Potato arrives because moving with a weeks old baby sounds like hell. Oh well, what will be will be. Confused

shelbTa · 03/04/2016 08:31

It's weird seeing you as potato! Is your flat on the market?

No not being overdoing it at all and not DTD for five days. Well, tmi tmi warning - yknow when we (collective we) use to do the CM 'test' when trying to get upduffed (fingers up), well I saw another little bit of bleeding just now on the tissue so did that and there is quite a bit of blood up there. I'm still not overly concerned as it is dark, but I'm guna ring them again I think. And also won't be doing that again!

Imp how are things this morning?

X

PotatosMum · 03/04/2016 08:46

Shelb I imagine the tissue just caught blood left from yesterday but it's better to be safe than sorry and not tmi... I do a tissue test every few days, my foof has had more toilet roll up it than anything else recently! Blush

I'm struggling to get used to my name change too but needed to be done. It was the only way to stop myself being drawn into posting on other threads again, it's just not good for you! Lol

I've got 3 estate agents looking at the flat on Tuesday and Wednesday, I'm also waiting for confirmation of when a surveyer will be coming round (it's a part buy so need to get an official survey to value it for the housing association) I'm going to try and get it on the market by the end of the week and hopefully we'll start looking for a new property next week. I've also got a meeting with a mortgage advisor on Tuesday so it's all go!!
Hopefully the market is buoyant enough at the moment that we won't have to wait long for a buyer and will be able to find a new property quickly.
Excited but worried Confused

ImpYCelyn · 03/04/2016 08:51

shelb I would call again and just get them to check to reassure you. It won't hurt to check, and it will make you so much more relaxed!

Potato I like your new name! When ds1 was little I posted a bit more across the site, but got crucified on several threads so left entirely. I'm only back now on the strict understanding that I stay here. I don't need that hassle. People are just looking for someone to take it out on. Also I was really shocked to see names I remember from 5 plus years ago attached to some of the meaner posters. They used to be really friendly!

I think moving house is always stressful, worse if pg, but much easier than with a tiny baby. So I'm with you on that one!

I slept terribly, cramps all night, and thus morning. But no blood so far today. I'm going to call my gp tomorrow am and try to get an appt for as soon as I'm back. We get back on Thursday morning, so I might be able to get one that afternoon and then Monday evening after work, and they can check bloods. Doing it here will just be a pain i think. So I'm resigning myself to a few more days uncertainty...

Sodasoda · 03/04/2016 08:58

Thinking of you imp and shelb

shelb - can your midwife help? You'll be far enough along not to go to EPU I'd have thought?

PotatosMum · 03/04/2016 09:00

Imp I'm sure it'll be fine just take it easy (no mammoth sight seeing tours) and try not to worry too much. Thursday will be here before you know it. Brew but in the mean time if you have any more bleeding get yourself to the French equivalent of A&E and refuse to move until you're seen x

BunchOfBobs · 03/04/2016 09:08

Think of you both Shelb, Impy.

Potato I'm loving the new name.
At the beginning of my TTC journey and MN days I had a bit of an emotional outburst and started a new thread, I had been on MN long enough that I NC for the post. It was brutal, I hid the thread and requested deletion but MN wouldn't allow that- fair enough. Vipers is right though, they're very aptly named.

PotatosMum · 03/04/2016 09:16

Hmm... Well Bunch I have learnt my lesson. I shall not be posing anywhere but here unless it's for the most benign, uncontroversial reason. These MNers scare me Confused

Pinklily1 · 03/04/2016 09:42

Morning everyone

Imp and Shelb, thinking of you both Thanks I second those who have said if there is anymore bleeding go and get checked out.

Also loving the name change Potato!

ElleSarcasmo · 03/04/2016 09:56

Shelb sounds like it might just be blood leftover from yesterday as others have said, hope they are able to reassure you and that things settle down today Flowers

Impy thinking of you, hope you are able to get seen there...Thursday seems like such a long time to wait.

Bloody hell Potato! I've joined the 50 book challenge thread but that is very civilised...definitely won't be posting on AIBU any time soon! Hope the flat goes quick, fx. Have you found a house to buy yet?

PotatosMum · 03/04/2016 10:10

Elle not yet. I'm going to call round estate agents and give them our details this week. I did email them but the only one who replied sent me a house £20k over our budget that was no nicer that ones we'd seen online for £10k under our budget Hmm

Mileymoocow · 03/04/2016 16:39

potato I don't stray from here (until yesterday looking at people's nub theories) because the first time I did I was told I was 'a child having a child'!! I'm 26... and that was all because a girl was asking for advice on how to tell her parents she was pregnant as she was quite young - 19 I think.

impy and shelb I hope all is okay. Been checking back to see if there has been an update.

I was hoping to go back to work tomorrow because I had a few days where I felt a bit better. I've had a really shabby 2 days so am doubting I will be able to.

Mileymoocow · 03/04/2016 17:04

For anyone who is already buying - mothercare have a half price sale on their cot and cotbed mattresses. We bought one yesterday and it's brilliant quality

shelbTa · 03/04/2016 17:32

Hi ladies

No more bleeding today....but I've got throbbing period pains into my groin. Any of you guys had period type pains? And I'm exhausted.

Sorry, moany day!

X

Mileymoocow · 03/04/2016 17:51

shelb I know you're much further on that me but I get period type cramps regularly.

soda I've just spoken to my mum about the bleeding I had and she also had to have a cervical stitch in pregnancy. She said it's nothing to worry about. Hope that helps a little...

BunchOfBobs · 03/04/2016 19:16

Miley you're amazing, thank you, just bought our cotbed mattress half price woop Grin

Shelb I still get the odd cramping and I'm now 21 weeks. Glad the bleeding has stopped.

Mileymoocow · 03/04/2016 19:18

We got the cot bed one too, brilliant price Grin we do visit mothercare more than what is probably socially acceptable.

Sodasoda · 03/04/2016 20:12

Thanks miley, that's reassuring.

shelb I'm 16+4 and I've had AF pains on and off the last couple of weeks. Apart from that I only had them around weeks 5-6 so has been a bit unnerving! Fx it's nothing to worry about and just things stretching.

Everyone is so organised with baby things! We're not planning on getting anything for a while yet. Think we're going to wait until after the anomaly scan

BunchOfBobs · 03/04/2016 20:33

I may be too organised. I've just got nappies to buy now Blush

IndiX · 03/04/2016 20:52

Reading through your posts make me feel so disorganised! We've only bought the pram becuase it was such a good price but apart from that I think I want to wait until after 20w scan too. I think once I get to the stage of no more scans and just getting big fat I'll need to look forward to lots of retail therapy!

Pinklily1 · 03/04/2016 21:01

Indi, we've ordered the nursery furniture but that's it! Waiting until after scan on Wednesday to get anything else.

Mileymoocow · 03/04/2016 21:07

We have everything except the pram/car seat and coat hangers. My mum is buying us a box of nappies and baby wipes every week and keeping them til baby is here. And we're being thrifty with clothes because everyone has already started buying stuff so I can't even imagine how much we'll have in 6 months.

IndiX · 03/04/2016 21:35

Wow Miley you're so sorted! We're due around the same time too, I feel very unprepared emotionally and physically too! I need to start making lists really.
Anyone who is finding out the sex..do you feel like you don't want to buy anything until you 'know' them? sounds strange but I can't picture what Bean is like atm, another reason I don't want to buy anything yet.

Co5mo · 03/04/2016 21:55

I've bought nothing yet. Said I would wait until the 12 week scan and test results are in. We're finding out the sex at the 20 week if the baby will oblige so I think I will hold off buying clothes til then. Baby will probably have arrived before the nursery furniture if DH doesn't get a wriggle on sorting out so we have space for it.

How long am I likely to be at the hospital for tomorrow for my scan?
