Thread #4 - TTC#1 the one where Stark joins the grads!!!!

Runner05 · 21/03/2016 12:33

Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

Oh gosh Bunch I hope everything is okay and the midwife has been now? Are you feeling any better at all? Thanks

Miley I hope all went well at the doctor ThanksThanks

StarkyTheDirewolf · 31/03/2016 12:52

Bloody hell bunch 💐 hope you're feeling better soon!

peaches I keep telling myself there's nothing I can do whatever happens. But I was saying to dh this morning. If I didn't know I was pregnant because of tests, then I wouldn't guess that I was. Just slightly larger, tender boobs, little bit of acid reflux if I dont eat regularly and wind nothing new there so I'm stuck between feeling grateful for not feeling rotten/trying to enjoy it/thinking that everything has stopped and I've just not realised!

mileythere's a place round the corner which does them, Dh knows where the offices are and I think it's about £50. Might see if we can book one in. We'd discussed it briefly but made no decisions. Hope you're feeling better today mate!

Well, I rang the doctors, have got my appointment. Receptionist who's known me years on/off sounded really pleased and said congratulations and because I wasn't expecting it I nearly cried, tried to breathe in and did a big snort instead!

BunchOfBobs · 31/03/2016 13:17

Starky your post re:receptionist has made me laugh. I felt very normal at the beginning apart from sore boobs. You may joining the few of us who have had no sickness.

I'm feeling pretty rotten. Midwife been, Pip sounds "lovely and perfect" on the Doppler, he's a right wriggler today. My blood pressure is normal for me and my temp and urine are fine. She thinks is could just be hormonal, or a virus but potentially I had a blood pressure crash that has now recovered (but I feel no better). Bloods have been taken for iron and OC checks. I'll only hear anything in the next few days (I imagine Tuesday now) if there's a problem. I've been told to rest and no activity. I'm avoiding stairs as it was bloody terrifying getting tunnel vision whilst on them, thankfully I have a downstairs loo but all my crochet and embroidery is upstairs. Sad I've had a bit of a blub as I feel so pathetic and i'm struggling with nothing to do day to day as it is. DH is working from home tomorrow at least.
I may watch "what to expect when you're expecting" to keep me entertained.

BunchOfBobs · 31/03/2016 13:18

Laughing at the snort that is Starky!

Runner05 · 31/03/2016 14:02

Bunch oh god bunch, that sounds horrible but at least the baby is ok.

That caterpillar is amazing! Grin

Indi I second the whale feelings, just keep telling yourself it's not you it's the baby (says the woman seriously thinking about getting a tummy tuck next year Confused)

Just had news that we've accepted an offer on OHs house! Woohoo!
I should be getting the flat on the market by the end of next week and with any luck we could be in a position to move right about the time that I finish work Smile it's almost like I planned it Wink

Sodasoda · 31/03/2016 14:31

bunch that sounds awful! I'm glad the midwife could get out to you so quickly and you're being looked after. Hope you feel better soon.

stark - good work phoning the docs! It's about to all get real soon!

runner great news on the house! Will you move far? Or just to a bigger house?

In other news from me - the hospital phoned me and apparently my blood from yesterday is showing low iron levels so I need to take a supplement. Which may make me constipated. I'm not really sure how I could possibly be any more constipated but I'll give it a go!! They've booked me in for another cervical scan on Tuesday and if my cervix is any shorter they'll apparently admit me on the spot and do the stitch then! Scary! But I'm feeling more positive today that everything is being done thoroughly for the sake of my bean.

ImpYCelyn · 31/03/2016 14:49

Bunch that's a relief! Hopefully the bloods come back normal and it was just a pressure drop. Very worrying though.

Yay Stark! Glad youve got the ball rolling there!

Runner great news about the house. How exciting!

Soda oh no! I had iron tablets with one of mine (embarrassingly can't remember which) and they made me really constipated. I felt loads better though. At least you'll know about the stitch fairly soon Smile

I've catalogued baby clothes (okay initially, but apparently I've given loads away in bigger sizes), dug out maternity and nursing clothes (need more), and today I went over the cloth nappy collection. Which is embarrassingly large, and yet still left me thinking I'd need more for when Fleur is bigger HmmHmm

Nevlet · 31/03/2016 16:52

God bunch what a day get some rest and hope you feel better soon Thanks

Feel selfish now but I am so excited...: found out this afternoon we are having a boy!!!!

Pinklily1 · 31/03/2016 16:58

Yikes Bunch, that sounds so scary. It's good the midwife was able to come out and see you so quickly though and hopefully has put your mind at ease.

Hope Miley is doing ok too.

Nev, a boy!! So exciting! Was the scan ok? I can't wait to see baby on the screen again. Am I right in thinking that's two boys now, and one not finding out from the 20 week scan?

Nevlet · 31/03/2016 17:04

Thanks pink the scan was brilliant he has grown so much since 12 weeks! Was at a private clinic so lasted about 45 mins we have a dvd of the whole thing and about 12 printed pictures!

BunchOfBobs · 31/03/2016 17:05

Yay Nev team boy all the way.

Thanks for the wishes everyone. I'm feeling quite down and dizzy but I will be fine tomorrow I'm sure. I'm keeping my fluids up and grazing the whole time as recommended by the midwife.

Great news about the house Runner.

Soda glad you're being seen again so soon, fx the constipation doesn't get bad with the iron supplements and all goes fine with the scan. Failing that at least you know the stitch will be in place that day.

Danni89 · 31/03/2016 17:09

Congrats it's a boy Nev!!

Hope those feeling rough, get better soon. So hard to keep up with this thread, so many of us!

Oh and congrats on the house news Runner

shelbTa · 31/03/2016 17:48

Congrats nev! And runner on the house!

Bloody hell take it easy bunch. Did she take you blood sugar levels?

X

BunchOfBobs · 31/03/2016 17:51

I'm assuming she checked them when dipping my urine Shelb, She said fainting and dizziness can be very common with pregnancy and it may never go away. Such fun! Just had another moment of having to catch myself. I swear I'm taking it easy and I'm not standing up quickly or anything but yet it's still happening. Ugh. DH will be here very shortly so I get to have an arm to hold on to to get around the house at least.

ImpYCelyn · 31/03/2016 18:00

Congrats on the boy Nev! Fab news! I'm so tempted by a private scan, they sound great! It's amazing you get a dvd too.

Bunch that still sounds really tough! I really hope you feel better soon. Thanks

Pinklily1 · 31/03/2016 18:58

Bunch, I was referred to a consultant a few weeks ago due to dizziness. They told me it was basically low blood pressure when standing up, is common and there's not much they can do about it. The only advice they have was to stand up slowly, clench your bum when standing (apparently helps the blood flow) and to drink 3 litres of water a day. So get bum clenching!!

IndiX · 31/03/2016 19:50

Oh bunch what a shitty start to your day, hope you're feeling better now.
Nev that's lovely news!!! Congrats on your baby boy..you'll be meeting him in just a few months!

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow ladies at 2.30 (wish It was in the morning but DH has to go in to work) Starting to get a bit nervous but keep convincing myself everything will be fine. Can't wait to see Bean Grin

IrregularCommentary · 31/03/2016 20:21

Ooh, I'm 1:30 tomorrow Indi. Veering wildly between excited, impatient and terrified. Haven't had any early scans so this is the first one. It's felt a very long time coming!

IndiX · 31/03/2016 20:53

Aaahh irregular how exciting! I had one at 8w after a small brown bleed but I can't wait to see Bean looking like a proper baby shape and hear a heart beat. I can't believe you've lasted this long without a scan!

Danni89 · 31/03/2016 21:08

Good luck indi and irregular!! X

Mileymoocow · 31/03/2016 21:26

Evening all.

bunch shit, it's days like these where you really need a glass of wine! I'm glad all was ok and hopefully bloods will be too. I have low blood pressure and I often get tunnel vision/black outs so hopefully this is the cause.

runner excellent news about the house. I love it when a none plan comes together Grin

nev congratulations on baby boy! Did you have an inkling at all?

Ok, so... today has been eventful. Went to docs, doc rang hospital, hospital said all was ok and not to worry unless I bled any more. Went for lunch then shopping to mothercare to cheer us up and around 3pm bled and had cramping. Rang the hospital, went to a&e and am now having a scan tomorrow morning! I'm not too worried as the gynae isn't worried so fx all goes well tomorrow! I'm nervous but I'm focusing on everything being ok Smile

Pinklily1 · 31/03/2016 21:32

Miley, that is eventful! Are you feeling ok? It's good that the doctor isn't worried, and that they can fit you in for a scan so soon, hopefully will put your mind at ease too.

Indi, just a heads up - we didn't hear a heartbeat at 12 week scan. We saw baby wriggling on the screen but were told that it isn't routine to have sound/hear heartbeat at that stage. First time we heard heart beat was at 16 weeks. It might be different at yours but wanted to give you the heads up as I was really shocked that you don't hear it at 12 week scan. Anyway, good luck to both you and Irregular (and Miley) for tomorrow.

Runner, sorry, I missed your house post earlier. Such good news! Have you started to look for somewhere new yet? Will you be moving far?

Mileymoocow · 31/03/2016 21:45

I feel alright, just the usual nausea. Only vomited once again today and have managed breakfast and lunch which is brilliant! I did have an 'oh shit what if I don't feel as bad because something bad has happened' moment and had a mini anxiety attack but figured that can't be healthy for the baby. I am going to say I had the most gorgeous doctor at the hospital! I'm so glad he didn't inspect my unkempt fanjo. If he's there when you're there you will know who I mean.

runner we're following your great example and are going for the giggle 2. What an absolute dream to push! Saw a mamas and papas one that we loved too but it just seemed a bit long in the body... baby would have felt miles away.

Runner05 · 31/03/2016 22:10

Bunch that sounds really scary, take it easy hon.

Nev yay! Another boy... We had better have some girls soon or we'll be outnumbered.

Good luck for your 12 week scan Indi & Irregular

Miley I'm sure all will be well at your reassurance scan tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you x
Oh and yay to another convert to the Giggle Smile what pattern are you getting? I really wanted firebird but the deal on the mothercare exclusive was just too good to pass up.

We're moving to another area in the same town because we need to be near DSSs school. I'm going to get the flat valued and hopefully on the market next week and then we'll start looking. I really can't wait, sounds a bit soppy but despite hating being pregnant, right now I'm pretty much getting everything I ever wanted. I feel very lucky Grin

Haha, is he our hospitals answer to George Clooney or maybe the North's McDreamy?! I might be distracted if he's around!
