Thread #4 - TTC#1 the one where Stark joins the grads!!!!

Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

I'm just on my way out to a birthday party but wanted to give you an update. Once OH woke up properly I told him how uncomfortable I am and how I can't sleep and he went quiet for a minute then told me to go make him a cup of tea... We just got back from IKEA with a shiny new king sized bed Grin

Sorry that was obviously meant to say pram not lean**
Yay runner bet you can't wait to jump in it tonight

BunchOfBobs · 28/03/2016 15:25

Excellent work Runner. Fingers crossed for a very comfortable nights sleep. Enjoy the party.

leoniethelioness · 28/03/2016 15:50

Have a good night's sleep, Runner!

BunchOfBobs · 28/03/2016 17:39

Eek milestone day. We can officially see Pips kicks Grin and unlike I was worried I am not freaked out in the slightest. Just beaming.

shelbTa · 28/03/2016 17:46

Amazing bunch!!!! How many weeks is that, 20?

X

Pinklily1 · 28/03/2016 17:48

Irregular - the measurement was printed on our scan photo and i'd done a bit of research on the internet beforehand, so I knew it was on the low side (it was 1.4mm). The sonographer didn't tell us or comment on it at all, but it was plain to see on the photo.

Shelb, i'm good thanks, much better than I have been! Fingers crossed our bumps properly pop out soon!

On prams, we are pretty set on getting an icandy - they are easy to manoeuvre, fairly easy to put up and down and can also be converted into a two seater if baby no.2 comes along not too long after baby no.1. I also hate all things patterned and floral, so the icandy plan colours tick a box for me!

Pinklily1 · 28/03/2016 17:48

Just saw your comment too Bunch - that's amazing!! Can you actually see the shape of hands and feet when baby Bunch kicks?1

BunchOfBobs · 28/03/2016 18:22

20 indeed Shelb he's been getting so strong lately and I can feel him all the time so not too surprising I can see him now.

No Pink more like I just see the skin move ifkwim. Imagine the opposite of when you prod your own belly. Am I making sense?

Pinklily1 · 28/03/2016 19:08

That does make sense Bunch. So exciting!

LisaTheGreek · 28/03/2016 19:20

Congrats on 20 weeks, Bunch! So exciting!

Mileymoocow · 28/03/2016 19:33

Aww bunch that sounds brilliant! How exciting that you're half way there

Mileymoocow · 28/03/2016 19:38

Also very jealous at everyone having their 12 week scans at 12 weeks Sad I have to wait til 13+2 which seems like forever away!

leoniethelioness · 28/03/2016 21:37

How exciting, Bunch!

My sister has an iCandy but it looks really big to me and I'm worried about fitting one in our car

Runner05 · 28/03/2016 21:52

Aww Bunch that's awesome that you can see kicks now. So exciting!

Miley yours will come around soon and it really will make you feel better about the awful time you've had.

So things haven't gone to plan this evening... DSCs mum unexpectedly informed us that she wasn't going to have the kids back until 9pm! Which has meant the we haven't been able to put the bed together, which means our flat looks like a bomb went off and I've had to be running around all day on next to no sleep... We were both less than impressed by this.

I've also been a bit worried that I haven't felt Potato much today. I know this is because I've been moving around a lot and I only usually feel him when I'm sitting still but I'm still a little freaked out. I know, I know, there's no reason to be, at this stage movement is sporadic etc. but I'd got used to it. Confused

Hope everyone has a stress free first day back to work!

Morning!

Sorry to hear you didn't get your bed up Runner, but at least you have one and know it's coming soon! I know it's not much extra space, but I always find it makes a huge difference, even if it is just psychological. Really pleased you got OH to agree!

Miley how are you feeling today? I've got everything crossed you're on the up now!

Bunch that's so great that you can see the kicks! How fab!

Really pleased people are getting good unchallenged measurements! That's such a worry.

I'm having bleeding today. Was light pink when I wiped, and 1 hour later it's brownish. The rational experienced bit of my brain is saying "this is really common. You had bleeding with ds1 and had to have an early scan - all okay. You had spotting with ds2 - all okay. Stop worrying", but the main bit of my brain is like "aaaaaargh!". Also it's af due date, so I'm worried that somehow that means it's gone wrong. Although if it had gone wrong there's no reason, after a bfp, for it to show on af day. It's more likely hormonal residue triggering it. But it is so tough to stay calm!

Runner05 · 29/03/2016 08:46

Imp get yourself off to the dr just to put your mind at rest. I'm sure it will be fine though Brew

Wow lots to catch up on! Just come back from a long weekend in Barcelona.

Welcome newbies! Lovely pics girls, I'll do one soon.

Hope everyone is ok, and good luck to those scanning this week x

Runner05 · 29/03/2016 09:20

So, how is everyone dealing with with being back at work?

I was fine this morning but now I just want to go back to bed Confused

I had a quick look at how many months I am today as people keep asking and looking confused when I talk about weeks. I was shocked to see that officially I'm in month 5 already Shock exciting!!! Anomaly scan is 2 weeks in Friday although I'm wondering if the scanner could tell what Potato is at the 12 week scan as she asked if we were going to find out and then proceeded to call him a he Confused I may be reading too much into that though as I'm getting impatient Grin

Are there any more scans coming up in the next week or two?

OP posts:
Nevlet · 29/03/2016 09:28

We have a private sexing scan on Thursday as 20 week scan is with a fetal heart consultant due to history of problems on DPs side. We wanted a separate scan that hopefully is just a positive experience together, before the more scarey medical one in a couple of weeks.

Pinklily1 · 29/03/2016 09:30

Our scan is a week on Wednesday, so not too far away!

LisaTheGreek · 29/03/2016 09:39

Runner - so pleased you got the king bed in the end! We have one, and I love it. So nice on lazy mornings to have lots of space, and our two cats can also fit (they stretch out and take up more space than we do .....)

Danni - Hope Barcelona was lovely! Jealous of your getaway. Hope the weather was good, and better than the horrible storm we had here.

Imp - I agree with Runner that it's probably fine, but don't let the worry get to you. Go and see a doctor/midwife to put your mind at rest, it's not worth the horrible stress of thinking the worst.

Miley - my scan isn't until 13 weeks, and it's felt like such a long wait. It's now come round, and is tomorrow at 9am. I am pissing myself scared. I've managed to get myself into a real state about there being no heartbeat or getting bad measurements for defects. I need to calm down! As if the sickness isn't bad enough, the extra worry is doing my head in. Tells self to get a grip and grow up

Runner05 · 29/03/2016 09:54

Nev that sounds like a good idea re the scans although I'm sure the medical one will be fine too.

Pink not long now Smile

Lisa I think everyone freaks out just before a scan, I'm already worried there'll be something wrong with Potato. Just keep reminding yourself that it is incredibly unlikely.

I think Potato has decided my bladder is a nice squidgy football... Little git lol

Danni very jealous of a trip to Barcelona, I hope it was lovely and sunny.

Runner and Lisa, Thanks ladiesSmile I'm not sure a doctor can do anything at this point though. Also I'm with family in France, so would need to see a random French doctor, and I'm even less sure what they would do. I don't know if they'd do HCG bloods or what. I think it's probably just a wait and see and try to stay calm situation... I'm okay the the mo, not too worried yet. If I get red blood I'll be a wreck though.

BunchOfBobs · 29/03/2016 10:32

Runner you made me think of this cartoon. I swear it's Pip in the middle of the night too!

Imp if it makes you feel any better I got spotting around AF date too. You're doing the sensible thing staying calm.
