Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

Well my plan has been scuppered, OH has said no to going and buying a new bed but at least he's rolled over now so I have enough room to lay down without feeling like I'm about to be pushed out of the bed. Hmm
Not a happy bunny but hormones make it difficult to have a disagreement without bursting into tears so I'm going to give it a while and try again.

That's frustrating Runner. I hated our double the first time. By the second time we had a different double, but it was back when IKEA did European sizes, so slightly bigger than normal, and even those few centimetres made a difference! I'm a bit concerned about it this time. Might have to chuck DH onto the sofa in the last few months Grin

I feel pretty rough. Nauseous and constantly like I'm about to faint. It's been like that for a little over a week, which I don't understand as I'm only 4+1. I thought it was something else, but if it is, nothing is making it go away. I'm still hoping it is something else and will clear up, because I don't feel this bodes well for when MS hits with a vengeance!

I officially have an embryo today! I'm quite liking the Ovia app.

I've opted for Parisien bakery theme as this baby is half French, and it will cheer me up to think about French cakes! Apparently it's the size of a grain of fleur de sel - my favourite for caramel!

I had to pick a nickname and imaginatively come up with "Third". That's bugging me when I read it though. How on earth are you meant to pick a nickname?!

Jamjar12 · 28/03/2016 08:40

Runner, that's sucks but glad he's rolled over enough for now! We've only got a double so I'm worried about size issues when the time comes!!

Imp, congrats on graduating to embryo! It was a poppy seed when I first clicked so I called mine Poppy as a nickname. Poor thing, if mine turns out to be a boy, I'll probably still think of Poppy for ages!

I've started getting scared of chemical pregnancies now. I read some terrifying stat like 50% of 1st pregnancies end in one but DH has quite cleverly said that must include thousands of women who don't even know they're pregnant and accounts for lots of late periods. It's still rattled me though :( I'm 5+4 now... Anyone know if there's a safe zone you get to where it's unlikely to be chemical? I'm sorry if I upset or offend anyone with this topic :(

ImpYCelyn · 28/03/2016 08:44

Thanks Jam. I'm worried about chemical too, but I think if you test a couple of times in the window where your HCG is still going up you'll be able to check. As long as you get BFPs you're fine. There's no any to avoid them though. I'm pretty certain a large number happen before AF due though, so you should be very low risk by now.

I was just thinking that I might call it Fleur, but yes, if it's a boy that might be a bit messy having thought of it as feminine for ages lol

shelbTa · 28/03/2016 08:45

Keep at him runner!! - we've got a queen sized (as OH is massive) and I couldn't be without it.

Hang in there imp-my first few weeks were terrible, in fact it was the feeling sick and burping that made me realise I was Deffo preggo.

18 weeks today! Determined to upload bump pic today as its really really popped out in the past few days.

X

leoniethelioness · 28/03/2016 09:18

I would like to say that I wish I had heeded Runner's advice about the water. The sonographer sent me out of my scan so I could empty my bladder a bit. I was too tense for her to properly scan me.

Our scan was on a Friday, we told our families at the weekend, and then I told a few of my closest friends a few days later and my supervisor at work on Thursday. I've asked him to keep it quiet as I'm still waiting on blood test results but I was feeling really stressed by keeping it a secret. My NT measurement was really good but I like to be cautious. I'm 14 weeks on Wednesday and plan to tell everyone else after my 16 week appointment. My friend kept her pregnancy quiet until 19 weeks but I won't manage that as I'm so short.

Started looking at prams online and think we have agreed on a girls' name!

BunchOfBobs · 28/03/2016 09:31

Imp it's likely to be blood pressure. Jt really drops off in the early weeks.

Shelb get it posted! I've bared more than enough flesh.Wink

shelbTa · 28/03/2016 09:41

Here we go, 18 weeks, bit of a close up as couldn't get a pic without anything identifying myself - so all lumps and bumps are captured too, joy!

BunchOfBobs · 28/03/2016 09:47

Yay Shelb definitely a bump!!

ImpYCelyn · 28/03/2016 09:49

Lovely bump Shelb Smile

I have no idea I'll keep this one a secret for.mwe managed til scan last time, which dated at 14 weeks, but we'll see...

Planeteer · 28/03/2016 10:01

Lovely neat bump Shelb!

Poppy and Fleur are cute as nicknames. Ours is Pancake (found out I was upduffed on Shrove Tues) and despite not knowing what flavour we're having I've naturally been referring to him as a 'him' for the last few weeks.

Scan is on the 8th when I'll be 12+1 and DH is convinced we'll be able to tell the sex. Keep telling him it's too early but he's having none of it, haha!

Runner keep crusading for the bed! We're definitely going to need a bigger one when we move. Haven't yet got a pregnancy pillow but can imagine it doesn't half take up a lot of room! Hope your king size dreams come true soon.

Nevlet · 28/03/2016 10:05

Neat bump shelb! I am a week behind I think and feel massive- my family have started commenting how big it is, my little sister even took a picture just to show me how big it is Blush

Pinklily1 · 28/03/2016 10:39

Morning ladies

Shelb, your bump is lovely! How are you feeling?

Runner, we have a double too. We're definitely getting a king asap! Having a pregnancy pillow takes up a lot of room in the bed.

Indi - we told everyone the day of the 12 week scan. We didn't wait for the test results. I knew the nuchal measurement was low, so we took the risk and told everyone.

Imp - I used 'Bump' as a nickname on Ovia, but in real life we call baby by a boys name (even though we have no idea of the sex!).

Planet - my OH was desperate to know the sex at the 12 week scan. The monographer said she couldn't tell that early, and even if she could have done she wouldn't have told us because its too early to give a confident answer.

Leonie, I'm impressed you've managed to decide on a girls name already! We have a short list for girls, and are still struggling with boys name options.

I'm 17+6 today and starting to worry about the next scan which is just over a week away. I don't feel pregnant at the minute - sickness has basically gone, boobs aren't sore, haven't felt any kicking yet. I know thats all ok but I feel in that limbo stage where I look more fat than pregnant, and I think the next scan will make it feel real again.

Pinklily1 · 28/03/2016 10:51

*sonographer, not monographer!

Sodasoda · 28/03/2016 11:10

Morning! You lot have been chatty! Lots to catch up on!

pink - I'm exactly the same - no bump really, no symptoms, feel totally normal. I'm 15+5. I think it's just the second trimester paradise. But I really wanting a bump now!

indi I waited til after I got the results. But they said they'd call within 3 working days if there was a problem. My scan was on a Wednesday and when I hadn't heard by the end of the following Monday I told a few people. Then my letter arrived in the post on the Tuesday with my low risk reading so it was really quick for me. If your scan is on Tuesday I reckon you'll be fine to tell people by the weekend.

planet - at my 12 week scan the sonographer said he could tell what sex baby was and was happy to tell us if we wanted to know. I was really surprised as assumed it was too early but we want a surprise anyway!

Mileymoocow · 28/03/2016 11:47

My cousin was told a girl at her 12 week scan and she had a boy on Feb 1st Wink

We have a king size and to be honest it doesn't feel that much bigger than a double (think there's only 6 inches difference) but I can imagine it's a struggle to fit everything in to your double! Just buy one and tell him the baby needs it Smile

Peanut butter sarnies are my thing today. This is my 2nd day of feeling slightly better so I'm cautiously optimistic.

shelb your bump is so cute! Hoping I have a neat bump too.

leonie that's brilliant. I sometimes think the hardest part of having a baby is naming them. We've decided on a girl and boy name already but it was very difficult! We're not telling our family what we've chosen yet as don't want them to have an opinion and start suggesting things as it's our decision and I know some of them will! Plus I don't want them to call bump by those names in case the novelty wears off (OH did this with scarlet in early pregnancy and I had to tell him to stop as it put me off the name)

IrregularCommentary · 28/03/2016 12:15

Pink how did you know the nuchal measurement was low? We've got our scan on Friday and have to admit we're expecting to tell family right away, but am now unsure...

IndiX · 28/03/2016 12:15

Would love a neat bump like yours shelb!
Miley glad you're feeling well enough to eat today, I'm going to get some peanut butter in later I have a craving now!
Soda my scan is Friday and wanted to tell people Saturday preferably. I'll see how the scan goes and how I feel, hopefully all will be well.

shelbTa · 28/03/2016 12:24

Thanks ladies! - small from the side but front on my waist has seriously thickened out.

Hi pink - I'm fine thanks, nothing to report really, just plodding along. Really miss wine now though!!! How are you?

X

Nevlet · 28/03/2016 12:49

Glad you are feeling better today miley hopefully it lasts!

leoniethelioness · 28/03/2016 14:25

Irregular My NT measurement was 1.2 mm at 12+2 and my sonographer said it was a nice small measurement.

We have a shortlist of boys' names but we just can't decide on one. The law of sod says we are having a baby boy! We like really popular names for boys but I have some reservations about using them. Our girls' name is in the 60s to 70s but our boys' names are top 15. Our surname isn't that common but I don't want our baby to be one of 100s at school.

leoniethelioness · 28/03/2016 14:28

I'm quite taken with this pram but it's not cheap...

Little lion cub would look great in it though!

Thread #4 - TTC#1 the one where Stark joins the grads!!!!
Sodasoda · 28/03/2016 14:28

irregular the sonographer should tell you your nuchal measurement and if it's ok. But if they won't tell you they write it in your notes after.

Lovely little bump shelb I've been really missing wine too. I've actually had a bit of a craving for beer (strange as I never usually drink beer) and I've been drinking non alcoholic becks blue which has been a lifesaver! I bought some alcohol free wine and it was horrible.

Hope the end of sickness is in sight for you miley

IrregularCommentary · 28/03/2016 14:33

Thanks leonie and soda

IndiX · 28/03/2016 14:41

Leonie I love that lean! I was looking at a SilverCross too but going to have a proper look maybe this weekend. Everyone I've seen have an iCandy so don't know if that's the best as they seem so popular.
