coco I hope you made the most of being able to pop back to bed! I am struggling this afternoon with tiredness..body things its 10pm Asia time Confused not sure if you posted somewhere previously whilst I was away, but have you had your mystery scan yet?? Hope all ok.

basket love that changing bag and what a bargain!! was it you that posted the Tiba + Marl black leather rucksack?! I had been waiting for it to come back into stock but managed to get a really similar one in Bangkok from the MBK leather shop, so managed to save a bit! Any movement this afternoon from your babe? Do you have a doppler...I always find a quick listen on there puts the mind at ease, but try not to worry, they often wriggle off and play hide and seek.
Thanks for the tip on the Chicco, I have looked into it but was ideally wanting something wooden. Have just today come across the BabyBay which has some great reviews, comes in normal and a maxi size which fits baby in for longer. Also converts into a bench, play table, travel cot and playpen once they grow out of it which is quite nice! www.nctshop.co.uk/products/4362/babybay-maxi-bedside-cot-with-side-and-mattress

chiana good luck with your scan and it's totally normal to feel a little bit of apprehension beforehand, I think we all did/do! Write a list of questions for the sonographer and enjoy, think how nice it will be to see your little baby again on the screen wriggling around :)

Christine people really can be rude and insensitive can't they! Rise above it as no point in taking any notice. Love how much shopping you have been doing !! Need to take a leaf out of your book and get organised.

Came across these cool pram covers on instagram...think could be quite useful in summer months. Anyone had one? milksnob.com/ they also double up as a nursing cover!

mslg thanks for the welcome back! the kicking is mad isn't it...really weird sensation but nice to know babe is having fun in there.

realised today that I never received any results from my urine test following my last midwife appointment over 2 weeks ago, pretty sure if there was anything to worry about they would have at least called, or sent a letter?!

Christinedonna · 11/04/2016 17:13

I've never had a pessary, that's someone else as I remember reading it. I just googled it and can't work out what it is. Anyone?

Mslg · 11/04/2016 20:16

Dileas I had the pessary about a month ago and then they found a GBS infection through testing my urine which I had antibiotics for and sunsequently got thrush again 😞 Second pessary worked though, am thrush free now

Mslg · 11/04/2016 20:17

Subsequently* fucking fat fingers

Dileas29 · 11/04/2016 21:39

Agh sorry for the mix up mslg and christine I hope both are sorted for you!

lily That nursing cover/car seat cover looks amazing! Will need to see if there are UK sellers as something I was looking for last time although I ended up whipping it out for feeding time with no embarrassment or cover before long.

A pessary is a lovely big tablet which goes right up the hooha....I've also heard it being called a "fanny bullet" which is quite accurate! My 2 year old daughter gave the doctor a laugh when I was getting the not so pleasant doctors examination today and proclaimed "she's just opening it up" very matter of fact after the doctor had just said that's what she was about to do. Very very funny

four how has the house move gone? Or are you waiting for completion still?

PickleBot · 11/04/2016 21:44

Evening all,

Christine people are wierd about pregnant women, either you are too big or too small...then they start touching you. shudder

I really need need to get my arse in gear, I've got decorating and curtain making to do, but I really can't get motivated. I've just been for a lovely stay with my parents and ds. My mum is really excited about the baby, she can't stop buying her cute little clothes. :)

Had a really shitty day at work today. I work for a charity and am the only regional person. A client organisation completely messed up by not giving me any notice of when they needed me and my (freelance) colleague there, then announced they needed us there over 4 days next week when a month ago I said a) we need to ideally squeeze everything in to two days b) I need as much notice as possible. I then pissed myself off my apologising for being annoyed about it and blaming being pregnant! Angry
My work timetable is absolutely crazy for the next couple of months and I can't see how to reduce it. Work are supportive and saying all the right things about 'taking it easy' but if I don't do things, there is noone else to. Plus I'm expected to contribute to some big funding bids with research I have no time or energy to do. And I'm going to a training course I really want to do tomorrow, but have to go to London overnight and I feel so vulnerable when I'm away from DP at minute Sad

bearhuggy · 12/04/2016 06:40

Morning sophia sorry to hear you are feeling stressed with work, I can sympathise with you as I am about to go freelance at the start of May so am currently trying to juggle dates with clients to make most sensible use of my time, whilst not putting myself under too much pressure. Remember, you are only human and a pregnant human at that! Don't be ashamed of saying you are unable to do certain things and that you need a little more time, putting stress and anxiety on yourself isn't good for you or the babe. Is there someone at your organisation you can talk to about it and try to get some additional help?

Sophia1984 · 12/04/2016 07:06

Thanks bearhuggy I can really understand now why people go on maternity leave early! My line manager and senior management are all lovely but we are only a small organisation and it's going to already be additional stress arranging my cover and handover. My freelancer is giving me support too but is only P/T and had other work too so can't do it all. I hate saying no to people but I also hate feeling taken advantage of cause I'm not assertive enough (e.g 'it would be brilliant if you could..' Not 'It will only be possible to..'

Best of luck with going freelance- it may be tough now but will be great to have more freedom once baby is here Smile

Mslg · 12/04/2016 09:56

Sorry to hear about the work stress Sophia it really sucks. I'm going to take my mat leave earlier as well. I detest my job and my inept manager. I think if I wasn't pregnant and focussing on the baby I would be so down about the direction my career has gone in and definitely would have handed my notice in by now. Mat leave is my goal at the minute, 14 weeks left!!

Christinedonna · 12/04/2016 10:04

I'm sorry to hear about work sophia I can't stand people assuming you can drop everything at the last minute when nine times out of ten there was plenty of opportunity to give you notice. I say put your foot down! Obviously don't be a diva about it but at the end of the day it's not fair to be over worked and if you feel the need to take it easy or lessen the load then that's exactly what you need to do!
I rang the hospital this morning for my test results, she said "oh you have " the name has COMPLETELY left me. I googled around after and the only thing that starts with a c (which is all I remember about what she said) is candida. So possibly that. Antsy a they're faxing over the prescription to my GP for me to pick up later. The prescription is for canesten, I assumed cream as I thought that was the only form of it but how wrong I am! So that'll be a nice surprise. Can anyone tell me how long it'll take for it to work its magic and me to be normal again? I'm on the verge of losing my mind. I woke up and 5 this morning with the itchiest bits imaginable!

lilygirl81 · 12/04/2016 10:08

Hi all, sorry for being AWOL, I got logged out and was too lazy to change my password since I'd forgotten it!

Christine I can't believe how rude people can be, they would never normally comment on your personal appearance (I'd hope).

JW I hope you are doing ok, I've been thinking of you.

Some of you seem so organised, but glad I'm not the only one with loads still to do.

I'm doing ok, back at work and my cramps etc seem to have gone for now. I had a really rushed weekend, got a call on Friday to say that my uncle had taken a turn for the worse, and if I could get to Glasgow, I should, so DH and I rushed down on Saturday morning, thankfully to find he had started to improve, against all odds (cancer now thought to have spread from oesophagus to lungs and brain) and he was able to have a laugh with us which was lovely. Then I got to go into the SCBU with my sister to meet her twins. It was lovely to see them, but only their parents are allowed to touch them at the moment, so that was really hard, I just wanted to tickle the tiny feet.

I had a check up yesterday at the hospital and the sonographer was getting used to a brand new scanner, so she played about with the 3D bit and we got brilliant photos of our girl. She is growing perfectly, bang on the 50th percentile, but...my fluid levels are high so I'm back in 2 weeks to get checked out for gestational diabetes!!

Christinedonna · 12/04/2016 10:17

So glad to hear you're doing better lily I feel like the threads got a bit gloomy lately with everything everyone's got going on. The real things and probably everyone's 'fed up' hormones kicking in. Mine certainly have! Hopefully that's you well on the way to not meeting your little girl until she's done cooking. She looks very chilled in there

Fizzyboo · 12/04/2016 10:24

Hi everyone, sorry not posted in a while, I've been decorating and working and no time spare!
My belly seems to have got REALLY big over the last few weeks, I look properly pregnant!

Babes has been kicking tons, DH can feel it from the outside, and yesterday as I was being kicked I was watching my belly and I saw it!!!
Been doing a bit more shopping, but sticking to more gender neutral as 'probably a girl' still isn't too sure is it?

Got my bonus scan on Friday as the couldn't get all the measurements on the last one, so hopefully get another peek at its junk to hopefully get a more definitive answer!

Still can't decide between a cot or starting out with a co sleeper crib... I sleep against the wall so it'd be on DH's side, he's happy with that, but surely it's better to be next to me for feeding... Hmm decisions!

23+3

Basketofwool · 12/04/2016 10:25

bear when I got home from work last night I went and had a lie down which usually sends baby a bit wriggly, and sure enough it started having a good old fidget :-) phew! I've got my fingers crossed for a chilled out baby...only seems to like it when I'm horizontal! I don't have a doppler but I was tempted to download an app which apparently picks up the baby's heartbeat....I feel like this must be a con though!
I hadn't seen the babybay - thats a great idea to have it convert into all of that!

Basketofwool · 12/04/2016 10:30

Good to hear from you Lily, how lovely that you got a 3d scan! Amazing picture!
I'm worried about GD at the moment as well. I'm higher risk because of my PCOS and am really nervous about the test next week. Hope you get a good result.

Fizzy couldn't you swap sides with your DH?

I love seeing the kicks from the outside. Just in a meeting at work and I could see my belly moving - feel sure others would see it too if they were looking, it felt very obvious!

lilygirl81 · 12/04/2016 10:34

Fizzy could you swap sides with DH, just while the baby is little? Extra scans are great, I'm having fortnightly ones just now which is lovely.

We have rented a bednest for the first 7 months, I just need to clear a space beside my bed now.

Basket That app sounds odd, no idea how that would work! My baby has started hiding from dopplers ever since she was being checked twice a day in hospital.

Christine I know what you mean about the fed up feeling.

We have had some good news, DH has hopefully found full time work for at least the next 3 months. Since he was part time before, I've worked out that we can save his extra money and I could possibly take 6 months leave instead of 4, which would be amazing. The idea of leaving my tiny baby was horrible. I've said to DH that every month he works full time is another month I can stay home, so I think he is on board, and he will then either stop work when I return or go part time again.

Chianablue · 12/04/2016 11:29

Hi everyone hope your all well. Just letting you know I'm having a little baby boy

lilygirl81 · 12/04/2016 11:39

Chiana That's lovely news, congratulations

Christinedonna · 12/04/2016 11:46

Congratulations chiana!
And fizzy I only wish I had your self control. We got "probably a girl* too and have since spent about £150 on pink!

Christinedonna · 12/04/2016 11:53

Just got a call from the doctor. A pessary and cream prescription is waiting for me!

lilygirl81 · 12/04/2016 12:58

Fingers crossed that sorts everything out for you Christine

Fizzyboo · 12/04/2016 13:45

Yes basket & Lily, I'm sure we can just swap sides while babes is little... And Basket, my midwife said I'm getting booked in for a GTT test when I see her on Friday for my 24week appt, the thought is making me sooo stressed out!!!

Brave girl Christine! I won't even refer to babes as 'her' yet as I'm sure it'll end up as a boy!! Thank goodness for the bonus scan!!!
And talking of boys, congrats Chiana on your boy news!

CheeseandGherkins · 12/04/2016 15:37

Hello again, I posted in an early thread but haven't been keeping up since. Lots going on and another difficult pregnancy means I find it difficult to join in. I'm 19+5 now, technically due 1st Sept but I will not be going over 37 weeks, if I get that far, just to past history and also having gestational diabetes.

I'm on insulin and have been since around 12 weeks and also on daily fragmin as I got DVTs during my last pregnancy.

Hope to get to know you all :) I had my 20 week scan last week and everything is looking good, we found out we're having another little girl. Feeling lots of movements and even some from the outside, I have a large bump as well!

PickleBot · 12/04/2016 19:04

basket I have PCOS too and didn't get GD last time even though I have a high BMI. I also haven't got it yet this time (had a GTT at 16 weeks) so it's not a fore gone conclusion.

Lily those pictures are amazing!

Christine fingers crossed for less itchy bits soon!

I think there is definitely a lot of the mid pregnancy blues going about - the initial excitement is over, and now it's just the long haul to the end. New pregnancy thing this week...I'm about the same temperature as the centre of the sun!
