Sophia I'm on the case for some adjustments! It's a bit tricky though as I work in London 3 days a week and Wales 2 days...I'm gatecrashing the Welsh office as I've moved back here so don't have my own desk.

Smallblonde that sounds awful you poor thing. Have you tried calamine lotion to ease the pain? Might give you some relief

dats · 04/04/2016 13:21

smallplainblonde oh you poor thing, that sounds totally miserable and frustrating. Definitely second going back to the GP, it's rubbish that you should just have to put up with it. The whole 'la la it'll be gone after the birth, suck it up' thing is so unnecessary' and really unhelpful - 15-odd weeks feels like a lifetime when you have debilitating symptoms. Hope you get something to help. And don't apologise for moaning, crikey it sounds horrid.

Cheery, thanks for the back commiserations! Hope you're not suffering too much! I rang my GP for my Matb1 whatsit as I'm not seeing my mw until I'm 25+4. They just looked up to make sure a GP had seen me during preg and then I had to give them a couple of days to get a Dr to sign it and I picked it up from reception.

I'm sort of glad I'm not the only one with this bruised foof thing - it really does feel like things are falling out sometimes!!!

25+1

dats · 04/04/2016 13:22

Oh Fifi meant to say: cute bump. That was probably me at about 16w - but I was prob about that size at that stage with DD, pesky second babies! You look great!

smallplainblonde · 04/04/2016 13:40

Speak, thanks so much. I will try the aloe Vera, I'm sure that will cool it too. Thanks also for the reassurance about work. I think when you say you have a rash it doesn't sound too bad but this one is just awful.

FiFi thanks so much. I've tried calamine too but not much relief. It must be hard for you work wise travelling between two places.

dats thanks I really do feel hard done by being told to just get on with it! I will definitely go in the morning and ask for some help.

I feel better getting my stress out on here anyway Flowers

FifiRebel · 04/04/2016 13:50

Awww thanks for the bump compliments all!

Smallblonde I just remembered I tried bicarbonate of soda in the bath when I had some problems down below to stop itching. It did seem to help for a little bit. Could be worth a go? I've also found Epsom salts helpful.

Cookiesandcoffee · 04/04/2016 14:45

smallplainblonde I don't have any other helpful suggestions to add other than what the others have said, but really hope you get some relief soon- sounds positively awful and you have every right to moan. Plus being miserable and in pain every day for 3 - 4 months is not to be accepted if something can be done to help. Definitely go back to the GP.

fifi sorry to hear about your swelling and commute. Are you commuting from Wales to London?!? That sounds physically exhausting in itself.

My belly feels like it's bursting today, I can sense a growth spurt...

FifiRebel · 04/04/2016 15:18

Afternoon cookies! Yes I've recently moved from London back to Wales ready for baby (have bought my own place which is impossible in London). My job is in London though so I will be spending 3 days a week there (staying with friends) and working in our local office the other days. Will work remotely in local office for June before leave at start of July.

Tomorrow will be my first day of my new routine so hoping I can take it in my stride...and wear my baby on board badge with pride!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 04/04/2016 15:40

Small definitely not right to be left like that. I wouldn't bother with the midwifes I would go straight to gp and let them know just how painful it is.

My main thing at the moment is heart burn. I have it constantly even when it's been hours since I've eaten. I'm drinking Gaviscon advanced constantlySad. It's so bad I feel sick with it.

26+3

tams13 · 04/04/2016 17:27

fifi Your bump looks so neat! I keep thinking other people in yoga look bigger than me at the same stage...until I look down!

smallplainblonde That sounds horrendous - definitely worth trying to get some answers or better suggestions from doctor or midwife. I second what was said about an ice block/bag of frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel. I'm quite an itchy person (although nothing like you're describing) and ice has helped to soothe and calm the itching at times.

Enjoying feeling more movements at the moment but they're still not very vigorous. Was expecting to be beaten up from the inside but seems like I've got a delicate little one at the moment (until he/she jumps on my cervix!).

Thom80 · 04/04/2016 19:15

Smallplainblobde - like others, I can't really add much other than send good vibes & hope it gets better.
Fifi - good luck with the commute. I hope that it is ok.
I am still trying to work out my mat leave so that I am in the best financial position. It is hard. I keep looking at new ways!! My boss is great & very flexible.
Off to the hospital tomorrow, one is my regular fortnightly appt but the other is for the blood pressure clinic. I am worried that I am going to miss it as the hospital always runs late!

FifiRebel · 04/04/2016 21:07

What are your mat leave options thom? It's quite tricky knowing what's for the best, I've been mulling over how I can afford the statutory pay when my full pay runs out (v lucky that my company has an excellent maternity policy but only have my salary to take into account)

AnnaT45 · 04/04/2016 21:45

Hello everyone, hope you're all well?

I was trying to post last night but wasn't working which was annoying!! So going to try remember everything!

small you poor thing that sounds truly awful and you can't put up with that please go see your GP if you don't get anywhere.photographer best call the midwife if you're in pain they can help you. I hope everyone else is ok?

I can't remember who is getting city mini jogger but we are too! Getting the double one as DD still will need it for a good year or so when baby comes. Keeping my bugaboo though as DD can walk to park and baby can nap (dreams of idyllic life with two! Grin)

I'm trying to figure maternity leave too. I'll have just under three weeks holiday so I'll prob go off at 37 weeks and put my feet up and potter in the house and batch cook! I worked up till 38 with a long commute last time as was fine. I prefer the time on the other side but if you're struggling pregnant then relax its not worth pushing it. Appreciate its a financial decision normally.

My appetite has really shot up last few days since hitting 23 weeks. This is when the weight piles on. My thighs are looking huge already. Bugger! Trying to be good with soups and salads and making sure I eat veg etc but it's the chocolate that calls me!

I've been busy trying to get house stuff in line for moving and DD still sleep terrorising which is tough with work etc but I'm getting through it day at a time (with mini eggs)

Hope you all had good Monday's

AnnaT45 · 04/04/2016 21:46

P.s Fifi you look fab!!!!

TheMissingPieceToMyPuzzle · 04/04/2016 22:17

Fifi- you look amazing!! This is my first and I always wonder why Im so big haha!!

Small- sorry to hear about PUPPS it sounds horribleSad hope it gets better for you soon!

I loved reading all the birthing stories!! Just shows every pregnancy is different and birth :) Im feeling less nervous again now which is sort of making me nervous because im not.. If you understand what I mean haha..

So I finally got my letter through for Physio for SPD Grin 20th April sounds like its a group thing though which Im not sure Im comfortable withConfused but Ill give it a go :) its been very painful so something needs sorting out!! Also, if it got too bad would bed rest be possible?! I really dont want it to get to that stage and hopefully with physio it will get better, but it is slowly getting worse Sad

Baby boy was moving so much yesterdayGrin he was making my stomach squirm from left to right and he was proper pushing up with his hands Smile very lovely to see!

I hope everybody had a lovely weekend and day today, gunna try keep up with the thread better haha!

BelOfTheBall79 · 04/04/2016 22:29

Hi everyone

I tried posting last night too but it didn't work which was very annoying! Hope this one works.

Sorry to hear about people's aches, pains and other medical issues. I'm guessing we will all have lots more of this to come! I've not been too bad so far although having said that have felt uncomfortable all afternoon. Still it doesn't sound as bad as some of you have, so thankful for that and hoping things improve for all of you.

I'm just back from my first nct class. Found it very useful content wise and also it seemed a good group of people which makes me very happy! Looking forward to next week now too.

Off to Milan tmrw with work. Although will try to keep up with the thread while I am gone...

GoingLoopyQuickly · 04/04/2016 22:33

Smallplainblonde. I have recently heard of a camomile ointment type product which is great for chicken pox. Better than traditional lotion. But you might also be able to try some children's chicken pox type releiver. Perhaps speak to a pharmacist and find out if you can get it on prescription.

I had my appointment with fetal medicine about the cyst they saw on my umbilical cord at my 20/40 scan and ge couldn't see it and the baby looks normal so he signed me off for mw led care. So now on the right track for my home birth. Assuming the rest of tge pg runs smoothly and I don't have GD etc. So yay.

Thom80 · 04/04/2016 22:42

Fifi - I am currently thinking that I will use the ten days of leave I have left in this year to start my mat leave early. Effectively use my holiday until my due date. Then technically go back to work after around 10 months but use a years worth of stored up leave to make it longer. I can't really afford to go too long without some pay coming in. My boss is open to it. The Mat pay where I work isn't great. Due to health complications they won't let me go longer than 39, but could be early as 36. It makes it hard to plan. I am feeling good st the moment & feel I can go to 39, I see my consultant every other week who is excellent , but I know that could change at any point & would need to have the baby. I alternate between worrying about money and the birth!!
On a very minor thing to moan about - I bought two pairs of legging one blue and one black, and I have managed to spill bleach on the blue ones. Agh, so frustrating. Sorry, I know that it is very minor compared with real problems & issues people are going through.

Sophia1984 · 04/04/2016 23:01

TheMissingPiece If it's anything like what I went to, they send everyone to a group session to start you off and give you general advice, then let you know that if you still need an appointment, you have an open referral and a month to make one. Group session was sitting and talking and getting advice - no physical examination!

GoingLoopyQuickly · 05/04/2016 07:59

I checked the notes from my scan yesterday and noticed this little girl is currently sitting the wrong way and is breach. Spinning babies here I come

GoingLoopyQuickly · 05/04/2016 08:17

Missingpeice. I would agree with Sophia. It will probably be about how to roll over in bed etc. But by going along you should be able to get a referral to a physio more easily

smallplainblonde · 05/04/2016 12:04

Ladies thank you all so much for your suggestions and kind words. I went to see the doctor this morning. She said it definitely is PUPPS and prescribed me a stronger steroid cream which will hopefully give me better relief. She said I'm unlucky to get it so early on and its likely to get worse closer to the end of my pregnancy. She said they will more than likely induce me at 38 weeks. She's signed me off work for 3 weeks and I have to go back and be monitored at that stage. She said its a bad side effect of pregnancy as only giving birth will cure it and until then we can only manage it. I had eczema as a child so she believes that's why I have it. Feeling a bit more positive that I can manage it slightly better with this cream!

Vikkijayne2507 · 05/04/2016 12:51

So hard to keep up. Sorry to hear about the rash. I hope there is some relief available fifi

I have a very active baby but the pain in foof, leg, pelvis and back continues driving me mad.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 05/04/2016 13:35

small pleased to hear you've managed to get a proper diagnosis and some stronger cream. Hopefully it all helps! I can't begin to imagine just how uncomfortable that would be, I get a bit of itching at night time and it puts me in the worst mood because I just can't get comfortable. Something as serious as what you're going through would tip me over the edge of sanity!

I had my GTT today. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I hate needles so 3 lots of blood tests in one morning is my ultimate nightmare and I hate being hungry so fasting equals double nightmare. Having DH there helped me cope with it all as well as watching a few shows on the iPad to pass the time away. The hours flew by. I'm seeing the midwife on Friday so hoping the results will be back by then. Will probably end up gorging myself on all my favourite treats over the next couple days just in case I am diagnosed with GD and have to give up everything Grin(counterproductive I know)

All those complaining of pressure down below, I've had that a few times as well on and off. It's a really strange feeling and I get scared going to the toilet when I feel that - feels like she will literally just fall out Hmm.

My little bean seems to really like / hate water for some reason. Whenever I'm in the shower she goes crazy, starts kicking like mad. I don't think the shower is too hot or anything it's around 38 degrees. Maybe it's the sensation of the water on my bump or the sound of it, not quite sure. Has anyone else had unexpected frantic movement during a 'normal' activity?

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 05/04/2016 13:57

Allthegood I'm glad your GTT went OK. I'm dreading mine tomorrow. It's not the needles or the fasting, but I'm not looking forward to the waiting around and I'm so so nervous about the results. No idea when or how I might get them either: my 28 week midwife appointment is tomorrow afternoon so it won't be then!

I know exactly what you mean about the impulse to eat a ton of crap in case you have to give it all up!

It's my birthday today and it's not been much fun so far. I'm having a very dull day at work, have a really boring but stressful phone conference in 10 minutes and am so anxious about the GTT that I can't enjoy it at all!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 05/04/2016 14:31

youandme happy birthdayThanks hope you've got something fun planned for the weekend to make up for having to work today. The waiting around for GTT is rubbish. My one too is to download one of the tv on demand apps to your phone. Today I was using the channel 4 one and I watched a couple of episodes of the Bear Grylls reality show The Island to pass the time. You can download one born every minute and a few other programmes as well I think all for free. Or alternatively download a film on Sky go if you already subscribe to that. Good luck with the test and keeping my fingers crossed that we both get the all clear Smile
