I think I have passed some sort of nadir- working from home today, I have just taken a break and eaten a small snack. It appears I have grown a very useful shelf on which to balance them!

It's lovely catching up with all the chat. I'm glad a few more of you have experienced the shock of thinking baby is one sex and finding our it's the other! Makes me feel more human especially with all these hormones, it can really mess with your head!

Thom - I am also hoping to move before baby is here! Hoping to agree sale on our house tomorrow but feels like we are cutting it fine. Last move took 10 months from start to finish!! Really want to be settled somewhere so I can begin nesting! Apart from packing boxes I won't be helping much with the "move"!

Good luck with the scans today ladies!

pulpi · 10/03/2016 17:58

The scan went really well. Everything is absolutely fine and the baby is completely perfect. Of course!

And... drumroll please... we've decided to share the gender rather than keep in secret (as this is near impossible with our families): TEAM BLUE!

Which means I was right and DH owes me a fish supper. Woohoo!

minieggaddict · 10/03/2016 18:06

Ffs, I'm I'll again. Really sore throat and no sympathy from mum or dh who both just said oh yeah my throat's hurting too. Mum told me to go eat Manuka honey but sceptical about paying ott for friggin honey and it not working. Dh is huffing about the extra work load of dinner and sorting dd out but I'm in no mood to mess with.
Sorry about that just need to offload!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 10/03/2016 18:21

Thom we are moving house in two weeks time eek it's the packing that's stressful to me. I'm ok once we are in.

Cookies I get the achy pain when I do side leg raises on the floor. Well pretty much any kind of thigh/ hip movement on the floor. I've always had really strong legs.

Pulpi congratulations on joining team blue. Lots of boys in our group.

Bluebell I don't have a midwife appt now until 28 weeks. I won't get my matb1 until then. That's fine as I'm claiming maternity allowance although not sure if it makes a difference if you are claiming statutory.

22+6

HopesAndDreams15 · 10/03/2016 19:45

Good luck with the move Beaut!

Minie* get well soon Thanks

Pulpi congrats on team blue, lovely news!

Bluebell I'm not due to be seen again until 25 weeks either. I've got GP at 25 weeks and then midwife at 28 weeks. I've also got 3 growth scans, an anti D appointment and a gestational diabetes test to fit it so I'll be busy!

Small hope your scan went well.

My old enemy pregnancy reflux has reared its ugly head, so gross Sad

Rang the dr's today and got an appointment about my painful crotch/pelvis, going in on Monday.

Hope you're all fairing better than me! Smile

mascaraisamust · 10/03/2016 19:57

Welcome to team blue Pulpi!! Minie and hopes, hope you feel better soon.

I'm shattered tonight, actually felt like I was going to cry at work as I felt so drained! Night on the sofa and Chinese for me.

Thom80 · 10/03/2016 20:03

Mascara - I feel exactly the same. I am exhausted today. I keep reading that you are meant to have loads of energy in the second trimester. When is that happening!!

primarynoodle · 10/03/2016 20:17

Congrats on all scans :)

Ive been having really bad back pain but specifically today its like my tailbone feels bruised and tender so im waddling.. feel like a penguin!

Ive been getting a little worried about reduced movement over last few days but baby has been very active today! I know theres been a separate thread on this so there must be a few of us! (Am 22+4)

Hope everyone is well!

AnnaT45 · 10/03/2016 20:44

Thom we are on the verge of accepting an offer and hoping to move end of May. I'll be quite pregnant then and DD will be 16 months so we are going to get a removal company in to pack and move us. Agree with beautician when you're in there's less pressure and you can do a room at a time etc. Good luck with all the moves!

Mining sorry you're not well again. So many bugs going round. Take care and get an early night.

I'm tired too. DD not giving me much chance to sleep... Hope she finally starts soon!

Congrats on all the scan! I feel like we are very blue? I've got my scan next week but going to stay yellow.

Almost the weekend Smile

gnat99 · 10/03/2016 20:58

Wow, can't even begin to catch up now... So I'll just say some quick hellos and add more tomorrow.

Pulpi - congrats!! Wonderful news.

Bluebell - my midwife also offered to leave a MatB form at GP reception if I texted or phoned her. That was if I needed it sooner than 24 week appt next week. As it happened I won't need to take her up on that, but she did offer.

Beautician - my hips have been very sore the last couple of weeks. Have it waking up in the morning (lying on side makes it worse, but I don't have an option!) Exercise def makes it worse, anything using legs - walking, etc. My Pilates teacher said it is prob because my joints are loosening so my muscles are tightening up. She showed me a couple of stretches to do which help.

Lucia - think it was you asking about Jane buggies? My sister used a Jane system for her twins and found it fantastic. I pushed it myself quite often and found it very easy to manoeuvre and it was very durable. That was ten years ago tho!

gnat99 · 10/03/2016 21:05

Ps:

I feel much better now, tummy finally back to normal I think. Thanks for all the concern ladies! DH was very good at bringing myle camomile tea in bed, etc. He also bought me some coconut water to drink, it's supposed to be very hydrating.

Felt like I had a new lease of life last night when I realised that I was definitely on the mend and had some energy back. Was positively euphoric! Then our neighbours had friends over and made loads of noise, so didn't sleep very well. Not quite so euphoric this morning Wink

Smallplainblonde - good luck for scan tomorrow! Hope that project is done and dusted.

Scase1firsttimemum · 10/03/2016 21:43

Think I need a bigger bra.. My maternity bra has really rubbed today and I now have sores under my boobs SadSadSad really hurtHmm

Good news I suppose is one more day of work! 8/9 complete!!

mascaraisamust · 11/03/2016 05:52

Primary, movement is totally on/off for me. Went nearly two days with nothing and he only seems to kick after dinner. I know there is no real pattern yet but I'm driving DH mad with my 'I don't know where he is' questions.

Scase1firsttimemum · 11/03/2016 06:02

Movement seems to be quite constant for me, my baby boy is very active Grin Im starting to notice a pattern but not supposed to worry about that till later on so Ive heard

Thom80 · 11/03/2016 09:15

Hi- I am still not feeling much movement but been told that it can take up to 25 weeks and then they only really fall into a pattern after 28 weeks.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 11/03/2016 10:24

I'm getting quite a bit of movement now (actually literally now!) at 24+4. I can feel myself starting to become absolutely neurotic about it though, and trying to work out what might be a pattern. I'm generally very anxious anyway and I've always felt that this is going to be an aspect of pregnancy I will really struggle with.

Thistledew · 11/03/2016 11:01

The only pattern in movement I have noticed is that he tends to wake up about 15-20 mins after I have eaten something, and lies still whenever I get DH to try to see if he can feel anything!

Ellizardo · 11/03/2016 11:24

Youandme - totally agree with you on the post 28 week movement issue. Think they (Nhs) are really trying to get a balance between reducing risk of stillbirths etc with the incredibly common (& in my case with Ted daily) lack of consistency of movement. How on earth are you supposed to know? I would have been calling/going in almost everyday. In the end, I just had faith in the inconsistency and my instinct. Let's support each other through it as I have a feeling we'll all need it!

Thom80 · 11/03/2016 11:37

Hi - advice needed. I have been having sharp pelvic pains. Has anyone else had them and is it anything I should worry about? I was rushing to get a train for work this morning so could be that.

KayTee87 · 11/03/2016 12:46

Thom I don't know if it's the same thing you've had but I've been having shooting pains in my vagina since around 16 weeks on and off. It's bloody agony. I Googled it and apparently they get called 'fanny daggers' and are quite common.

KayTee87 · 11/03/2016 12:47

Like high up in vagina - no such thing as tmi Blush

gnat99 · 11/03/2016 12:51

Thom - I had a similar thing last week, it started when I was rushing for the bus after work (I didn't actually think I was rushing but perhaps I was walking faster than usual).

Lasted on and off for a couple of hours and had less sharp pains into the next day. But it never got awful and went away by third day, so I never got round to phoning the midwife.

If you are worried, I would just phone the midwife.

gnat99 · 11/03/2016 12:54

Kaytee, I get that vagina pain too sometimes - think it's been mentioned on the thread recently.

Do you think 'fanny daggers are the same as 'lightening crotch'??!!

The pelvic pain I had last week was a bit different.

Thom80 · 11/03/2016 13:09

Hmmm, I am now working out if it is pelvis pain or vagina daggers! Either way it is painful! It seems to have settled down, but if it flares up I will call the MW. I am meant to be going out in central London tonight but have decided to cancel. I can't face a bait bar and restaurant, especially when I will be nursing a cranberry juice. I just want to go home and put my feet up!
