Pinsey, I lit a candle for you and your little lost angel today. Hope you are being well looked after.

Welcome Carla! I had angry spots on my face and neck until a few weeks ago (am 21+4). Tbh there weren't that many but they seemed to stay for ages.

Elizzardo and Beautician, thanks for buggy comments, think we will prob buy the second hand Bugaboo from our friends for now and get a more all-terrain one in the January sales if we still feel we need one then.

Mascara, good luck for scan tomorrow!!!

Cheery1 · 28/02/2016 19:47

Oh Gnat thats a beautiful idea! I shall light a candle for all who have lost their babies in this thread. Such an awful and devastating thing and I feel pain for you allThanks

mascaraisamust · 28/02/2016 21:37

Thanks all, full of cold tonight so an early one for me. It's an early morning appointment thankfully. Started on the bio oil tonight, better late than never Confused

primarynoodle · 28/02/2016 22:50

Accidentally got the armadillo flip travel system today! Mamas and papas had it discounted from £580 to £280 for the pram and carrycot, i asked if we could have the ex display for any cheaper so ended up with brand new pram and ex display carrycot for £200 and still get the 2 year warranty etc...! What a bargain!!

Feeling very guilty at buying at only 21 weeks though.. wont be buying anything else til 30 weeks!!

Ellizardo · 29/02/2016 07:58

Primarynoodle - what a result!! That is indeed a bargain. What colour did you go for?

Gnat - think you've made the right decision...most well made prams should be pretty sturdy anyway so trial it out and see what you think.

Mascara - GOOD LUCK this morning and hope you enjoy it!

Bluebell20 · 29/02/2016 08:26

Oh Pinsey , I've been away this weekend and was thinking about you. I am so sad to hear of your loss. I too shall be lighting a candle for you and your baby today.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 29/02/2016 08:31

Good luck for today mascara hope all goes well.xx

Bluebell20 · 29/02/2016 10:55

Yes, good luck mascara; I hope it goes really well.

I visited my SIL this weekend and she very kindly gave me a few maternity clothes (her baby is three months old), so I am now feeling much more kitted out. I was also very reassured by seeing her managing with her little boy - completely capable and in control, and getting just about enough sleep. Phew.

The maternity clothes have come just in time, too, as I seem to have undergone a rapid expansion again. Friday night, a friend remarked, 'Gosh, you're five months and barely showing!' On Saturday morning, you couldn't see that I was pregnant under the woolly jumper I was wearing - but by Saturday night, the bump was pushing the jumper out, and a different friend remarked, 'Isn't that quite big for five months?'

I thought it was just bloat, but it doesn't seem to have gone away...!

Hi ladies hope everyone had a good weekend despite the sad news we learnt about on the thread..

Primarynoodle amazing bargain! Gosh I love a good bargain :-)

mascara good luck with your scan today!

Welcome Carla!

I bought a pair of black mat jeans (over the bump) from ASOS tall mat collection last week and they are great! Not only are they long length but super comfy & fit me really well too-so impressed!

Anyone taking up swimming or planning to? Heard it's really good especially when pregnant so might look into some classes in my area.

20+3

Carla42 · 29/02/2016 11:17

Hi Jem! I was signed off with stress a few weeks ago and did lots of swimming during time off. It was lovely, felt so relaxing and helped with my aches and pains. Need to try and make time for it now with work.

I also tried an aquanatal class which was a strange experience! It was like 80s style aerobics but in water which I was hopeless at following. I didn't really enjoy it but the other women further along seemed to benefit. I'll try it again in a few weeks

Cheery1 · 29/02/2016 11:19

Ha! Bluebell - I've had a bit of a bump growth spurt too! Your post about your nightmare "what to wear, the only thing that fits has meat grease on it!"made me laugh out loud! I've been picking up bits from ebay - including some non-maternity Toast dresses which are great for us preggos. I got some great jeans for £3.00 - pretty chuffed with those I can tell you!

I've just got back from seeing my friend who's an osteopath as Ive had a really psinful back for the last week - apparently my rib was locked partly due to baby pushing up into diaphragm....another new pregnancy side effect, who knew. She also reassured me that it wouldnt have any effect on the baby and that being anxious won't help Blush I've not slept much over the last week as it's been so painful at night so really hoping I'll get some rest now. Anyone else suffering with back pain? I can cope really as long as baby is ok. Think I'm raming now, blame sleep deprivation!

jem I've been swimming at least once a week and have loved it! Go for it!

You guys have convinced me to take up swimming will defo try and book some classes! :-)

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 29/02/2016 11:39

cheery I've also been suffering with lower back pain. It started last week after I spent an hour standing on a train into work (no one offered a seat despite the massive baby on board sign grrrr!) It's been awful I just can't get comfortable whatever position I'm in. I was thinking of booking a session with an osteopath. Did your friend recommend any exercises to do that would help?

Cheery1 · 29/02/2016 11:45

Oh I feel your pain allthegood - she said lots of cat and cow (if you do yoga, if not breathing into your back as you round it kneeling on all fours), lots of deep breathing basically trying to relax bits that are locked. I'd thoroughly recommend going to see an osteopath though - I feel sooooo much better!

Cheery1 · 29/02/2016 11:47

P.s. What is that about when people don't get up for pregnant women?! I think sometimes people are so in their own world they don't notice - if it happens again I'd ask someone to give you their seat, you need it!

OP posts:
GoingLoopyQuickly · 29/02/2016 11:50

Allthegoodnames - please don't suffer in silence. Just ask for a seat. If you don't ask you won't get. The baby on board signs are very "unbritish" which makes it hard for people to accept.

Also get yourself into a swimming pool.

I did swim in my last pg and even if it was just floating around it took all the weight off all of me and was amazing. Especially near the end. But remember you will feel the weight again when you get out again although it will be much more manageable because of the break.

GoingLoopyQuickly · 29/02/2016 11:51

Oh. And find out about whether you are entitled to free swimming. My council offer free swimming while pregnant across the whole city.

Bluebell20 · 29/02/2016 11:56

Jem I've been swimming at least once a week and I really enjoy it. Just about to order a maternity swimsuit - trickier than expected as a lot of them seem to be designed for lounging around on the beach rather than actual swimming. I just saw one that had padded cups! PADDED cups!!! I ask you! Why on earth would I want to further pad out my already enormous bazongas?!

Cheery glad my tale of woe was able to provide some amusement ;) I am also usually an eBay bargain fiend, but having bought one pair of truly crappy maternity jeans from there, I have been slightly discouraged. Perhaps I need to look again! Also glad to know that you are feeling better about the back pain - that really sucks. I briefly had back pain last night - I went to the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, which if you don't know it is a candlelit theatre with backless wooden benches - I felt all right at the time, but holy goodness, I struggled with my back on the way home! Fortunately a good night's sleep seems to have put it to rights.

Cookiesandcoffee · 29/02/2016 12:49

cheery and allthegood I have had a few niggles in my lower back(after doing too many squats at the gym) hope yours improves. Always better to get it looked at now.
bluebell I've definitely grown too! Jealous of all your maternity bits! So much choice now!
primary such a bargain, you have to get things when they are that cheap!
jem I swam a lot in other pregnancies, and did aqua natal for a bit (I enjoyed it, but hated the teacher so won't be going back- I investigated and it's still the same woman) swimming is so good and once you get bigger you will really appreciate the 'weightless' feeling in the water.
Good luck today mascara
Thom I usually use Liz Earl but this was one I grabbed in Boots as we don't have a counter here and didn't want to wait for postage.. Will look later!

ValerieTheHorse · 29/02/2016 13:18

So sorry pinsey what an awful thing to happen. Can't imagine how you must be feeling.

minieggaddict · 29/02/2016 14:02

I see an osteopath about once a month for my neck and headaches...love it.

Bluebell - I popped out a fair bit last week. Had to laugh at your padded cups comment. I bought a mat tankini that was on offer and I love the boob bit but then I had fairly miniature boobs so I've only gone up to about a c cup and the support is so much nicer than my normal swim stuff.

Been to GP today as worried dd has slapped cheek or scarlet fever. Got to wait for results but worried about the slapped cheek as it can have an effect on the baby - small chance but still worrying. Hopefully its just a random virus.
