Hello all

Pinsey - I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Will keep you in my thoughts.

I think I posted on a previous version of this thread (but am wondering if the MN desktop & mobile forums are the same, the structure looks so different) I thought the app would be a better way of using MN as I haven't been online much (and created new account after forgetting pword for old one!)

I'm Carla, I'm 26 and 18+3. I had a private scan two weeks ago which said that I'm having a little boy Smile have my anomaly scan during 20th week - I'll have two scans as I'm in the middle of moving areas (I guess there are some benefits to moving when pregnant haha). Have enjoyed looking at everyone's scan and cat photos!

Two things it would be great to get some opinions on. Is anyone else really spotty?!? My chin is covered in spots that just won't shift. Can anyone with previous pregnancies say if there's light at the end of the tunnel with this?!?

Car seats - I'm planning to buy a maxi cosi to fit onto my Bugaboo. I have a very old W reg car which isn't compatible with the isofix bases. The staff in Mothercare told me that it can be attached with seatbelts. Has anyone done this with a maxi cosi? I'm happy to do it but no one seems to talk about it anymore

Thanks
Carla

Ellizardo · 28/02/2016 09:47

Carla - welcome (again?!). you can fix the maxi Cosi with seat belts no problem. We did that when using it abroad with a hire car.

Carla - welcome to the forum. There are a few of us the forum who are very spotty, me being one. This is my first pregnancy so not sure if it gets better or not - so far not! I have found a back scrub useful, but won't work on the face! I have tried a few products but none have worked.
I am also 18 + 3 today!

Carla42 · 28/02/2016 10:02

Ellizardo - thanks! Was it much hassle fitting it using the seatbelts? I'm so jealous of the isofix

Thom80 - wow lovely to meet someone with same due date. Fingers crossed we'll both get clearer skin soon...

minieggaddict · 28/02/2016 10:37

Pinsey - so very sorry to read what's happened. Take care of yourself xx

Carla, hello Smile. My car seat straps in with the belt. Would ideally get isofix but the car seat is also the pram carrycot so can't justify extra expense atm. Plus there wouldn't be any room in my boot!

We're all still ill here with coughs and sore throats. I think dd has scarlet fever so will be off to the gp tomorrow. Bit fed up of feeling ill and being stuck indoors but hopefully better soon. Mini eggs are helping 😉

Vikkijayne2507 · 28/02/2016 11:00

Most car seats strap in with seat belts just look up instructions if you don't have them. I adore my isofix well worth it imo bloody seatbelt drives me mad now.

I'm also spotty it does go away but can't remember when. Full of colds here but I seem to have by passed the fever and flu that my oh and ds had thank goodness for that. Just the small matter of breathing now which is proving to be hard through my nose.

Thing is it's not so much the problem of fitting it in the car, if you've go a baby who only naps in the car seat or moving you really don't want to wake them going in or out of the car. Ok when newborn but my ds is a light sleeper and it was a nightmare moving him sometimes still is

pulpi · 28/02/2016 11:56

Oh Pinsey, I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending you and yours love and hugs.

GoingLoopyQuickly · 28/02/2016 16:04

We had a maxi cosi with dc1 and it was easy enough to fix without a seatbelt. As with everything else you become a pro quickly with enough practice.

Scase1firsttimemum · 28/02/2016 17:05

Im literally aching everywhere today, work is killing meeeeSad 1 more day then 2 days off... I can do this!!

Cheery1 · 28/02/2016 17:22

I went out for lunch with a friend earlier and obviously ate something too rich, have had a terribly upset stomach since I got home and my mil and bil are on their way up for dinner. Dh is cooking anyway but I really want to lie down Sad

ScandinavianMom · 28/02/2016 18:33

Pinsey, I am truly sorry about your loss. As mentioned in a previous post I had to go through a late termination 1,5 years ago - it takes time to recover. My thoughts are with you...Thanks

Carla42 · 28/02/2016 19:00

Thanks for all the welcome back messages! Can't believe how many people have colds atm, I've been full up all weekend. I can recommend a good session with head over a bowl of hot water & Vicks Smile

Carla42 · 28/02/2016 19:01

Kaytee sorry to hear you aren't feeling well - any chance you can sneak off for your lie down?

mascaraisamust · 28/02/2016 19:05

My scan tomorrow, feel really nervous tonight Sad

Hope you feel better soon Kaytee

Cookiesandcoffee · 28/02/2016 19:08

Hello carla and welcome. Yep we used our maxi cosi with just a seat belt at first. However, dd2 slept all the time and where we drive a lot it was a faff if I'm honest. we bought a base that strapped in so you then only had to lift the car seat on and off. I'm really sure it wasn't isofix as come to think of it we had an ancient Focus at the time. I think it was about £90 but that's going back 4 years now.
Also been spotty since day 1! - touches wood - last few weeks I THINK I've seen an improvement .. I did buy a hall of new skincare though Blush I invested in a good exfoliator thom, don't know if that's something you've tried?
Jealous of all those with Bugaboos. As I already have two prams/pushchairs (3 if you include an old McClaren stroller) there's no chance here :(
kaytee hope you feel better soon- early night for you.
Still thinking of you pinsey have been in my thoughts all day. Hope you are being well looked after.
21+6 (bump is getting bigger by the day, feeling like an elephant today)
