Gnat - it's amazing how seeing the baby can change your thought about naming so I totally agree with you there. Took us 6 days to name Ted....called himThe Boy until then! X

All advice on prams? We are looking at the Icandy and Joolz Geo. both look good & have advantages / disadvantages.

gnat99 · 27/02/2016 09:59

Morning all, quite sunny where I am!

Goingloopy, glad you are feeling more certain about how to deal with the baby-naming thing - your DS sounds so cute, with a baby in his tummy, and washing yours! Miniegg too.

When my sister had her DD, she bought each of her 3yo twin boys their own doll and a doll buggy shortly before, so they would play with those instead of baby when the time came. It was so funny watching them. There was a proud chorus in unison of 'look at our new baby Anna!' (real baby sister), followed by two separate squeals of 'look at my baby!'/'what's she called?'/'Anna'). They obviously just thought at that point that all baby girls, real or not, were called Anna...

Hi ladies, hope you are all well, would just like to ask you all to keep me in your prayers. Currently in hospital on complete bed rest for the weekend. My cervix has dilated and my waters are bulging. There going to monitor me over the weekend and then decide about putting in a stitch. Devastated doesn't even begin to describe how I feel

gnat99 · 27/02/2016 10:57

Goingloopy, forgot to say that your DP sounds so similar to mine in terms of how he processes emotion and worry! It would be so helpful if he could learn not to store it all up for days before speaking to me about things, and even then it's often only when I bring it up. By then I am usually irritable and tense after days of him obviously not acting like himself. Especially at the moment - I'm more aggressive than concerned when I ask him what's the matter ;)

gnat99 · 27/02/2016 11:01

Oh my goodness Pinsey, I'm so sorry! What a terrible worry. At least you are in the right place for the care you need. Perhaps a stitch will resolve it all.

Big hugs.

Valeriethehorse, I'm impressed with your decisiveness about baby names. I have different ones that I like and haven't settled on one yet. Perhaps it makes it easier knowing what you're having - think you said you were on team pink?

Verytiredmummy, I'm afraid I know zilch about the mountain buggy duet pushchair, except that mountain buggy is a popular choice for sporty/all-terrain needs, I've seen it mentioned online a bit.

gnat99 · 27/02/2016 14:33

Ladies, I too need advice about buggies. Anyone have any opinions on the Phil and Ted Navigator 2, or the Bugaboo Bee?

We have been offered both second-hand by friends (the same couple). In fact the Phil and Ted would be a brand new buggy, still in box, because they were sent a replacement under the warranty for a minor fault and were never asked to send back the original. Their toddler has outgrown the Bugabee completely so they were looking to get rid of that anyway. They were extremely positive about both buggies, and have similar needs to us: Our buggy will have both town and country use; both bus and car use; close family abroad so lots of travel, needs to be robust rather than flimsy, but not ridiculously heavy or huge for the car boot. Would prefer not to buy new, partly for financial reasons, and also as we live in 2nd floor flat so buggy will often be left downstairs inside the door.

Any thoughts? We like the sound of the Bugaboo Bee for easy-use lightweight city-type outings, and it sounds quite robust for quite a light buggy.

Phil and Ted we thought: Great for country outings, walks, etc, but still relatively manoeuverable in town with triangle wheel set. Lots of storage. Good investment if we are lucky enough to conceive a second child after this one. Also great to have a new buggy but at a good discount.

Both can be used with travel systems (separate question: do people think travel systems are worth it?!) and adapt to a choice of car seat.

Perhaps the answer is take both, and use them for different things? I have to confess that the Phil and Ted felt a bit heavy to me, but perhaps I just need to get used to hauling a buggy around!

I'll post this separately as well, so feel free to reply on either thread if you have any nuggets of wisdom for me.

Thanks.

Pinsey so sorry. My thoughts are with you.

Gnat I've heard great things about the bugaboo bee. I wish I had of got that now over the Cam

gnat99 · 27/02/2016 15:10

Thanks Beautician - which one do you have now, then? I remember you mentioning it, but I wasn't really in buggy research mode then, so I can't remember the details.

KayTee87 · 27/02/2016 15:58

Pinsey, thoughts and prayers are with you. Please keep is updated when you feel fit to. My friend had a very similar experience, I won't go into detail but she now has a happy, healthy 18 month old boy. Keep positive.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 27/02/2016 16:00

Gnat I have the bugaboo Cameleon . Lots of my may 13 mummy friends have the Bee. It's more compact than the Cam so easier to put in the boot.

gnat99 · 27/02/2016 16:20

Ah yes, I thought maybe it was the Cameleon. Another friend of mine also has that. Also a good buggy though, by all accounts! And the assistant in John Lewis told us that they have far fewer returns/fault issues with Bugaboo in general than with other brands. They seem to be very well made.

Thanks Beautician

Congrats on your purchase Indians! One more item off the tick list, and you have saved money, not surprised you're chuffed!

I must say, I am looking forward to having buggy and car seat organised.
