Glad to hear it bluebell
beautician that's great news on the job, everything crossed for you. I've always had a 24 week appointment, mostly to get the Mat1B I think? Which is what I'm most fussed about as I work for my mother in law and as she's currently undergoing chemo it's much easier on her if I get her the forms sooner.
scase that sounds horrific I would jump out of my skin!! Like beautican says you can qualify for housing benefit and private rent (provided the landlord accepts it) and then tax credits will help also.
I asked about my placenta at my 20 week scan. I've never had an anterior placenta before. The only real important factor is that it's high and not low at the bottom. (No one wants the exit blocked!!)
elliz that sounds very traumatic I really hope you get a more smooth ride this time.

My bump tonight - 20 +3

Ellizardo · 22/02/2016 21:22

Evening All! Just a quick note (knackered and in bed by 845pm! Rock and roll!) to say all went well with the scan today. She was breech, with head by my belly button and feet kicking my bladder (Kaytee this may Explain your current sensation) so it was difficult for the sonographer to access the heart etc but all seems well. Big sigh of relief and she rewarded me tonight with lots of kicking!

Consultant tried to nudge me towards VBAC with stats etc but didn't put up too much resistance when we said we wanted ELCS. We confirm at 32 weeks.

Feels like a long time before the next appointment now!

Ted's on the mend now. How's your little one Anna?

20+1

Ellizardo · 22/02/2016 21:23

Bird - lovely bump!

AnnaT45 · 22/02/2016 21:44

Kaytee I get lightheaded too. Try not to get up too quick and drink water! It's scary but it's low blood pressure so just take it steady.

Lovely bump bird! I saw a physio last time and she was brilliant. Things that help are keeping your legs together as much as possible. So when you get out of the car or bed have your legs together and swing them round like that if that makes sense?

Yah! Elizardo glad the scan went well! Ugh! My fear is my consultant will go on about VBAC stats too. My friend had to have some of her cervix removed due to cancer and as a result is unable to give birth naturally. Even she said the consultant was pushing VBAC onto her. 'Read my notes' she said! Think they're under pressure to hit targets!

DD so much better. Hoping she has a better night tonight as back to work tomorrow.

Hope you're all ok. I'm off to sleep. Such a rockstar these days Wink

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 22/02/2016 21:44

Kaytee I wasn't told at my scan where the placenta is and it doesn't say on my notes. I will be asking on Wednesday. I can definitely feel movements but I know what I'm looking out for by now. They aren't strong movements still just little flutters.

Bluebell glad that you feel reassured now.
*
Gnat* glad your scan went well your sonographer sounds lovely.

Bird great bump.

Thank you for all the well wishes on the possibility of securing another job. I actually contacted another lady today and she wants me to pop in for an informal interview next week. I think it's lovely that they are bothering with me considering I'm halfway through pregnancy. I just really want to work and I couldn't face sitting home until July. I don't know what to say to the current lady I work for. She has asked if I'm staying. She said I can be paid by cheque monthly now instead of weekly and that's her final word. It's not about the money it's the fact her attitude stinks.

Cheery1 · 22/02/2016 21:48

Hello all - it's been an eventful weekend on the thread so loads to catch up! Apologies if I miss anyone. We mostly spent the weekend in traffic going to Birmingham and back to see family so that was about as exciting as it got here!

Indians - gosh you've had a rough week! As you say, all hail the NHS. I hope so much that isn't being dismantled as it seems to be currently. It is one of the best things about Britain and I do so hope it is still there for our children.

Scase - so sorry about your kittens. Really does sound like you need a place of your own…Sounds like the other ladies have some good advice on housing too.

Anna - hope your little one is better soon, sounds really stressful

Primary - inlaws can be so tricky, it's the thing that DH and I have struggled with most over the years but I'm lucky in that it has got better - mostly as we at least feel like we're on the same team now which hasn't always been the case. Really hope it gets better for you too.

Bluebell - sorry you're feeling stressed. I know that fear around breast cancer - my Mum had it and was only 47 when she died after putting up a pretty amazing 5 year fight. It's one of my greatest fears, more so now we're expecting a baby. I guess all we can do is try to stay healthy and keep that anxiety in check. In the end, it seems to me like there's a whole lot of bad luck involved in who gets cancer and who doesn't. Not much comfort I guess but some things are beyond our control and there's some peace in that for me. Hope you feel a bit better after seeing the doctor Smile.

On a lighter note - you're in for a treat reading "A God In Ruins" - I really enjoyed it!

Elizardo that's so exciting that there's going to be a forties 'Downton' - perfect popcorn tv if we ever get an hour to watch anything this Autumn! I'd love to see "Life After Life" made into a film….I agree with Bluebell though it'd be a nightmare to copy or film edit!! Glad you're appointment went well today - really hope that you have better birth experience this time too. Sounds like it was all pretty traumatic last time - you just can't know what to expect is what I'm learning. Glad your Teddy is feeling better, bless him.

Lovely to virtually meet some other expectant Mums in the Arts!

Beautician - fingers crossed about your job!!!

Gnat - congratulations on your scan, delighted for you!

Woodsy - I was hungry all the time - and kept craving sweets so I've been cooking butternut squash brownies (on my friend Polly's website thecakediaries.com - I promise I"m not on commission, I just think her recipes are genius!) - no sugar, no fat and totally amazing! I'm now in a 'getting really full really quirky' phase so can't seem to eat much at all without being really uncomfortable.

Kaytee - I think I had the same thing a couple of weeks ago and got checked for a UTI but it was all fine - just baby resting on my bladder! Worth checking anyway!

That's all for now - my scan is tomorrow at 11am, really nervous and excited….not sure I'm going to sleep much…...

Thom80 · 22/02/2016 22:44

Cheery - good luck with the scan. I have just been looking at the cake diaries website. I am not much of a baker, but these seem doable. I am mainly craving savoury foods (marmite) but once in a while something sweet is good! In inspired to try them!

julfin · 22/02/2016 22:54

Kaytee - yes I've likewise been suffering a lot from dizziness/light-headedness lately, and also tiny bladder syndrome. I found some useful advice on these on babycentre, whattoexpect and NHS websites. Will talk to mw too, at my scan next week. Hope you feel better soon!

Exciting to hear about people's scans. Keep the news coming! (And don't forget to keep the stats page updated!)

And also don't forget your pelvic floor exercises!

Cheery1 · 22/02/2016 23:14

Thanks thom! Recipes are really easy, not had any mishaps so far...guilt free cake - what's not to like?!

julfin doing my pelvic floor exercises right now!

OP posts:
mascaraisamust · 23/02/2016 06:27

I need to do these pelvic floor exercises, not even sure how Blush I'll google now!

Jem01 · 23/02/2016 06:46

so much chat to catch up on!! Yay to all the great buys at the baby show! I didn't go after all, in the end I did some spring cleaning and made a start on sorting out the nursery.

Gnat and Elizardo congrats on both your scans! And Cheery and Beautician* good luck for both of yours! Whose next?

Anna & Elizardo hope your little ones are both ok now?

Kaytee it might be a uti - if you're really in discomfort then I'd get in checked out just in case. I feel so much better after being on the antibiotics.

Bird love the bump pic :-)

Woodsy I am always eating! Trying to stick to fruits now as I was eating a packet a crisps a day :-/

Indians hope you're ok now? The NHS is wonderful but I'm slightly bias as I work in it :-)

Yesterday I told my line manager I was expecting. She was fine about it but the look on her face didn't exactly match the "glee" in her voice(!) now I can finally stop concealing my belly at work i can be free!! Hooray!

It was me and OH 3 year wedding anniversary yesterday which was nice but we're going out for a meal on Friday to celebrate.

Hope you are all doing well and have a lovely Tuesday!Smile

Cookiesandcoffee · 23/02/2016 07:50

cheery scase and anyone I've forgotten good luck with your scans today!
Yey to movements scase! My DDs are dying to feel movements!
Great bump pic bird
Happy anniversary for yesterday jem ! You must be relieved to be 'out' though, well done for keeping it this long!
mascara the muscles you would 'lift' if you needed to hold your wee in!
These healthy baking ideas are such a good idea and I really must get on board. My diet is disgusting. Long gone are my salads and chicken and been replaced with cheese sandwiches and crisps SadConfused
Glad the scan went well elliz
Keep us posted beautican sounds like it will do you a lot of good to get away from her. Very toxic by the sounds of it. You sound so eager to work that hopefully one of these places will see that and snap you up!

Cookiesandcoffee · 23/02/2016 07:55

Oh and my surgery referred me to the midwife team who I phoned and they also confirmed the appointments at my surgery are 'a bit of a nightmare' and there's obviously some problems. The midwife on the phone was LOVELY and has found me an appointment, it's in 2 weeks time! ShockBut they said they didn't mind. I don't know if it makes a difference but I then have to go @ 28 weeks for anti D injection if I remember correctly so maybe that's why I still get an extra?
Anyone else resus neg?!

21+1

Jem01 · 23/02/2016 08:02

Thanks cookie and yes relieved to be "out" lol! I remember someone mentioning they were resus neg a few threads ago..

Good luck for your scan today scase! We're nearly all almost at the half way mark..hooray!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 23/02/2016 08:18

Cheery good luck for the scan today.

Cookies I've worked all my life. I only took 3 months maternity leave with my first two. I just seem to be having a run of bad luck.

I have a serious wind problem. DH is disgusted. I stink. I've always had a bit of wind in pregnancy but not this bad.

I'm so nervous about the scan tomorrow. I still can't decide whether to find out the sex. DH thinks baby is a girl but I think another boy.

20+4

gnat99 · 23/02/2016 08:41

Good luck with scans today Cheery and Scase!

Elizardo, delighted everything ok with you and not too much pressure about the VBAC.

Beautician, one more sleep for you before scan. You will feel so much better after it, and probably better about yourself too. I am a total windbag too atm and feel fairly unattractive. Doesn't help that DH keeps staring at me and bump a the time, esp when I take my clothes off. Still makes me feel really self conscious, I can understand why he's looking.

gnat99 · 23/02/2016 08:42

Cookies I'm rhesus negative too, so I'll be getting the anti-D

gnat99 · 23/02/2016 08:48

Kaytee, have you had your iron levels checked? Dizziness and lightheadedness can also be a sign of anaemia as well as low blood pressure.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 23/02/2016 08:54

Bump pic today. Really must dust off the mirror Blush

gnat99 · 23/02/2016 09:17

Lovely bump pic Beautician! And lovely dress too, great colour. Nice to think that tomorrow you will be seeing bump on the inside Smile

Hope one of these job options comes through, it would be great if you could get rid of that awful boss.

Jem, congrats for being out at work! It must feel amazing not to have to hide bump anymore.

I did some pelvic exercises on the bus this morning. Other than that, I'm mainly only remembering to do them in my weekly Pilates class...

I will try and post more today, sorry if it's a feast rather than a famine!

KayTee87 · 23/02/2016 09:43

ellizardo that's kind of what it feels like, I like I should get tested for a uti just in case though.
anna it's not nice at all is it, apparently it can get better in a couple of weeks time so fingers crossed.
beautician I can't see it on my notes either, I'm feeling flutters and pops anyway so not worried but would be interested to know.
cheery better safe than sorry, would you suggest going to my gp or do you think they can test me when I go for my scan on 3rd?
jem It would be great to get something to relieve the discomfort.
julfin it's good to know I'm not the only one, just surprised I'm getting this so early.
gnat I don't think I've had them checked, the pregnancare tablets I take have iron in them but might not be enough if I am anaemic. My mum and gran have both suffered with it in the past so wouldn't be too surprised. Mw was swayed towards low blood pressure when she asked her list of questions though.
