Hope those who had scans today, they have gone well?
I have mine tomorrow ☺️

KayTee87 · 18/02/2016 15:18

What baby show is it bird?

birdandbee · 18/02/2016 16:50

Excel, London - sorry was bit vague ☺️

Bluebell20 · 18/02/2016 16:54

I can't remember who asked, and I now can't find the post, but I do 25 mins on the cross-trainer, max! Plus 10 mins on bike, and lots of nice stretching and leg lifts on the mats. Cookies I retired from the treadmill the moment I knew I was pregnant! Just couldn't manage it in the first trimester - I felt leaden!

Scan went well today - so relieved. The doctor thinks that the bowel may have shown up slightly as echogenic because I'm 'slim' (haha, don't feel very slim at the moment!) and the ultrasound settings don't work quite as well if they don't have so much tissue to go through. Anyway, she thinks that is the most likely explanation. Or I may have had a small concealed bleed.

But! Just in case, we have both had blood tests for genetic screening for cystic fibrosis. We would carry on with the pregnancy even so, but we both felt it would be helpful to be prepared. And I have also had a test for CMV, which is a common infection in small children - and as I work with small children, the doctor thought we should check. I'm a bit more worried about that one, but it is still unlikely as I am most probably immune to it anyway.

Back for another scan in four weeks to check again.

Whew! Hope everyone else has had a good day x

Jem01 · 18/02/2016 17:00

so much cake in the office today as it's my boss' birthday - thankfully everyone is digging in and no one has noticed my 3rd slice of the day :-)

Ellizardo what a lovely surprise to feel kicks this morning :-)

birdandbee I'm going on Sunday looking forward to it!

Think a colleague has worked out im up duffed as she keeps asking me "how I'm feeling" wish she would just pee off and wait until I'm ready to reveal my news to the team!!

Great news bluebell!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 18/02/2016 17:34

bird and jem I'm going to the baby show on Sunday. Just found out its £15 for parking which is a bit of a rip off. Will probably just jump on the DLR.

birdandbee · 18/02/2016 17:50

Great news bluebell

Allthegoodnames and Jem - I'm going Saturday. A friend tells me it's free to park all weekend in Tower Hamlets, so we had considered parking in Canning Town then getting the DLR a few stops but I'm have the beginnings of SPD and my other half can't be bothered with the hassle. So we are going to drive to the Excel and pay the parking- means that we can also make some purchases ☺️.

birdandbee · 18/02/2016 17:54

Ellizardo - lovely when you start to feel the kicks eh? I started to feel them last weekend and with each day I've felt them more and more frequently.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 18/02/2016 18:04

bird that's a great tip about parking at Canning Town I think I'll do that! Happy shopping ladies, hopefully we get lots of bargains

scase hoping for some cute kitten photos soon Wink

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 18/02/2016 18:21

Pulpi wowzers at your work. Everyone at mine just keeps laughing at my ridiculous baby brain. I had to ask a client 3 times today how she wanted her tea. Blush

Cookies* glad your scan went well. I hope mines long. I love it.

Goingloopy I hear you. I'm also a former eating disorder sufferer. I was one & a half stone heavier when I got pregnant this time compared to last time. My everything feels fat. My face, legs, arms and my tummy feels flabby not hard. I'm struggling with how I look but also how I feel. I'm constantly out of breath & tired. I'm trying to push through it and walk everywhere.

Mascara I hope you enjoyed your spa day.

Jem good luck for your scan tomorrow. What time is it? Do you know what film you will see yet? I can't wait for my day off next week. Only 6 sleeps until our scan. Eek. To find out the sex or not. We still can't decide.

Scase great bump pic.

Cheery I would not be happy about the cake.

Kaytee I had an IKEA Poang chair & footstool in my beauty room which wasn't open long (long story). I bought them home to sell but think I may use it as a nursing chair now. It's so comfy.

Bird I will be giving birth in hospital for the fourth time. I like knowing all the pain relief is readily available. Plus I intend on asking to stay in the night to establish breastfeeding as I haven't been successful before.

Bluebell fab news for you today. Hopefully your tests come back with the all clear.

Hi to anyone else I've missed. Sorry there was a lot to catch up on Smile

I'm having a nightmare at work again. I'm self employed she pays me 60 per cent of what I make. She was paying me weekly by cheque but it's not consistent. It comes in dribs & drabs. Plus I have to find time to pay it in. I've asked for BACS so now she's said I can have a cheque monthly. I really feel like telling her to shove it. She says that a cheque leaves a better paper trail for her but that's rubbish as no better than BACS.

I can't wait until our scan and tomorrow is going to feel like a real milestone.

Aargh this app annoys me. Sorry about the mostly bold post

CultureSucksDownWords · 18/02/2016 19:07

Scan went well today, no problems at all, and the sonographer was able to tell us the sex of the baby which was nice Smile

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 18/02/2016 19:10

Are you keeping it a secret Culture. Pleased scan went well. I'm nervously excited for mine it seems to have taken forever to come around.

KayTee87 · 18/02/2016 19:24

Aw was hoping it was maybe somewhere in Scotland. Londons too far from Glasgow Wink
I'm having a hospital birth, love the idea of a home birth and would mau be consider with a 2nd but my mum ended up with 2 emergency sections so I would just worry. Hospital is 45minutes away in rush hour Confused

KayTee87 · 18/02/2016 19:25

Maybe*

CultureSucksDownWords · 18/02/2016 19:29

Thanks Beautician. I got really anxious last night about the scan, weirdly, and found myself thinking that I'd imagined all the movements! Just nerves I think. The woman doing the scan was great though, found the heartbeat straight away, and was very reassuring. I'm not mentioning the sex apart from to immediate family, I think, this time.

Cookiesandcoffee · 18/02/2016 20:20

beautician that sounds awful. She sounds like a total idiot, and bet you can't wait to be shot of the place. Have you worked out your 'qualifying weeks' for Mat pay?
Fab news bluebell Smile so happy for you. I have only been gentle jogging on the treadmill but I do get bored after 20 mins on the cross trainer even with good music! Good gym efforts!
scase I've been waiting Impatiently waiting all day for these kitten pictures Wink the crazy cat lady that I am!
Good luck for your scan tomorrow bird. Hope the babyshow is good! Every pregnancy I say I'm going to go, but never make it! You'll have to report back!
Jealous of all the cake jem I had some sugar/gluten/everything free brownies and didn't quite cut it!!
culture glad scan went well. You're very good for keeping it quiet! Everyone has asked me and I've told them all Blush

Sooo I've just dragged myself to a body pump class this evening but got home so hungry I've just devoured a huge cheese sandwich and packet of monster munch. BlushBlush oooops!

Scase1firsttimemum · 18/02/2016 21:24

Sorry to everyone who has been waiting "patiently" Wink for kitten photos! Been such a hectic day! She ended up not giving birth again so was taken to the vets and had to have a c-section, thats cost a bomb!! She has also now been neutered which is good :L but she has 3 beautiful babies all healthy at the moment and all home now :) even attached a photo Wink

Glad the scan went okay!

Sorry Ive been skimming through posts as I havent been on allllll day today other than to post about the babies this morning! Hope everyones day is okay and hopefully I can catch up soon :)

Black
And black and white

I was sooooo close which is kinda weird!! Haha she does have a ginger and white one, one thats a pinky white colour so Im just saying thats the white one in my dreamWink and a black one but it has ginger in it Grin

GoingLoopyQuickly · 18/02/2016 22:12

I do feel lucky to have been able to have a home birth with DC1 and don't assume I can have another. But fingers crossed. I might add here that I can see the maternity unit from my house. So it would take longer to get me in the car than drive to the hospital if I need to go. When I first talked about it I said I wanted to give birth in the hospital because I live so close. So she flipped it over and said why not stay at home because I live so close. And that sold it to me. I had a pool and two mw just for me. I had happened to change my bedding that morning so when I went to bed (three hours after giving birth and having had a shower in my own home), it was in fresh bedding.

I have found out that I should have been tested for GD because my dad is diabetic and they will test me this time. If I test positive, I will be consultant let. So no home birth for me. So we shall see anything could happen. I am just hoping for a health little.

I found in the first couple of months of this pg, i felt too nausious at "gym time", but now I am feeling much better and have started total toning and step. I find they are a happy in between of my pre pg excercise and my own motivation in the gym (nil). Plus lots of pelvic squeezing opportunities there too.

Don't forget to squeeze ladies.

Scase, lovely lovely kittens. They are too cute. Hope mum is recovering from her op ok.

gnat99 · 18/02/2016 22:58

Wow ladies, so much chat!! Can't believe we are almost halfway through this thread already! I am really struggling to keep up - have just about managed to read all the posts and news, but no time to post replies yet, will try and remedy in next day or so.

Like some others on here, I have 20 week scan tmrw. Eek! Hope everything is ok. Am terrified and excited all at once. Not going to find out the sex (unless we see a very obvious willy I suppose Wink)

Good luck Jem, can't remember who else has scans tmrw but know there are one or two others.

Bluebell I'm delighted to hear your extra scan went ok.

Youandme, I'm so sorry to hear about your father SadFlowers
