His way of saying no is a bit off. If he'd have said he really didn't want to go out because it's cold/rainy/I'm tired/I'm in my jamas/or whatever, and said sorry, then that would be more reasonable. Just to brush you off is a bit harsh.

Ellizardo · 17/02/2016 19:08

Thom - yoga has its origins in India and feels more holistic as a mindset whereas pilates is ballet/dance-based strength exercises centering around the 'core' I think. Though I'm no expert...

KayTee87 · 17/02/2016 19:09

I know he was rude with it I thought! In the past I've always gone to the shop or whatever for him if he'd had a long day at work, was tired, not feeling well but never mind. I will go for my bath and hope I'm in a better mood when I come out as it's really not worth being upset over.

Scase1firsttimemum · 17/02/2016 19:18

That doesnt sound very fair, if OH doesnt want to go I give a pleading look and use the Im carrying your baby card, awful I know but he goes because he wants something himself :L

I think Im gunna reaaalllyyyy struggle when Im bigger Sad I have had a knee problem now for about 12 years, had mri's and an arthroscopy and doctors dont know whats wrong with it! Well now after a days work Im sat here with a dull ache but actually quite hurts that isnt going away Sad Im worried for how Im gunna be in future months, it used to lock up and Id be in excruciating pain for hours on end until I managed to unlock it which has to be the WORST experience of pain in my life (I say that as labour is edging closer and closer..) Im so scared because Ive managed to go like 5 years without it locking and Im scared too much pressure may edge it over to lock!!

GoingLoopyQuickly · 17/02/2016 20:02

I had my first at home and it was amazing. If I can have my second at home too then I will.

Ellizardo · 17/02/2016 20:30

I went down the midwife-led unit which is on the ground floor with labour ward on the fifth so close to medical intervention if necessary. Turned out with gestational diabetes I was placed on the labour ward automatically anyway. Impressed with your home birth loopy! I don't have the courage for that.

Ellizardo · 17/02/2016 20:33

Scase - I dislocated my knee 6 years ago and still have problems with it, so I literally feel your pain. Any chance you can get a new referral considering you're pregnant? Without more than paracetamol, would a brace/one of those tubey grip sock things help?

KayTee87 · 17/02/2016 20:42

Scase I was going to say the same, try a referral now before you get bigger towards the end.
I came out of the bath and there was a milky way sitting on my pillow - all is well again in the Tee household. He must have known from the look I gave him that I wasn't very happy. I'm glad I didn't have a go at him now because then he probably wouldn't have gone and we'd both have been in a bad mood.

birdandbee · 17/02/2016 20:45

Jem -My 20 wk scan is on Friday too! Although I couldn't wait so I had a scan at 17weeks and found out I'm having a girl.

My midwife was quite pushy about me having a home birth. I'm not 100% sure about it though and this is my first baby- so who knows how I'll cope. The thing is my local hospital is in special measures and I'm a nurse so I've heard a worrying story or 2. Although all my friends have had babies there with no real issue. Also 50% of first time home births end up with the mothers being transferred to hospital by ambulance anyway.

Cookiesandcoffee · 17/02/2016 20:58

Ahh deleted my original post- so annoyed.
Well done Mr Tee - glad things worked out kayTee and no one was hurt Grin yummm now I'm thinking of chocolate..
scase I would be inclined to get a referral again now you're pregnant? Sooner rather than later?
goingloopy jealous of your home birth! Was too scared first time round, and following some complications post labour with #1 I wouldn't be allowed one now anyway.
Ahh can't remember the rest of my post Sad

CultureSucksDownWords · 17/02/2016 21:01

I planned a home birth with DS1, with a birthing pool as well. Had it all set up ready, but never got to use it :-( I went overdue with very little sign of anything happening, and ended up being induced in hospital. I would love to have a home birth this time, but I'm resigned that it isn't realistic as the consultant would be very against it given the complications that happened last time. I hated the post natal ward last time and really don't want to have to experience that again, but I'll have to, so I've got to psych myself up for it! And hope I won't have to stay very long this time.

I have my scan tomorrow, btw! Feel weirdly anxious, even though I've got no reason to be.

Brightside65 · 18/02/2016 08:17

Hi all,

So good to read everyone is doing well. I'm 18 weeks and still having morning sickness, not as bad as it was but still here! Anyone still sick?

Desperate to find out what I'm having but scanned isn't scheduled until I'm 21 +5 which is frustrating!

wantingno2 · 18/02/2016 08:39

Good morning everyone sorry I haven't been on for a while how is everyone?? I'm 18 +4 now felt a few little movements but not much it's making me a bit worried as I felt my son earlier then this got my 20 week scan on the 3rd of March x

Vickie360 · 18/02/2016 09:08

Hi everyone hope everyone is doing well. I'm still feeling sick but it usually wears off around dinner time. I've not put any weight on but since I was over weight to begin with its not a bad thing! I've been feeling little movements every day but I can't wait for my scan it's still over 2 weeks away.
18+6

mascaraisamust · 18/02/2016 09:48

Wanting I'm feeling no movements either at 18+3 so don't worry! I know I have an anterior placenta so guessing I'll just have to wait. Got the midwife on Monday for a check up so I'll ask to hear the heartbeat again. 11 days until my scan, vickie I feel your pain, couldn't come quick enough!

mascaraisamust · 18/02/2016 09:55

I've just checked, I've put on 9lbs since the start Shock

Bluebell20 · 18/02/2016 10:22

Good luck today Culture. I have my specialist scan today, too - wish me luck, girls!

Ellizardo hooray for kicking! I'm sure I felt the bubs turn himself all the way over when I was on the train last night...

Scase eeeeeee kitten! Xx

Hey folks,
Sorry I've not been on for a while - had really bad headaches and sinus pain. Been trying to catch up but you're all so chatty!! Grin and Cake for everyone.

Buggy wise we have bought a Mountain Buggy Terrain. It's probably a bit OTT but it was the only one we saw that ticked all our boxes.

Planning on babywearing and have a smaller more portable pram for when we're in town.

I've been doing yoga for the last 3 weeks and I absolutely love it, it really helps me to feel calm and she shows useful positions and breathing for labour. She also tries to give you exercises if you are experiencing any pain - my hip has been a bit sore so she did extra hippy stretches in the last class.

I've also been reading and practising mindful hypnobirthing. I really struggle to relax and I want as little intervention as possible so hoping this will help.

My bump is definitely starting to show now, although I still just look fat in some clothes. Looking forward to our scan in 2 weeks, seems like ages away still. Feeling slight movements at times but still not really believing that there is a real live baby in my belly!

mascaraisamust · 18/02/2016 13:05

Good luck bluebell x

Sunnyscot, sinus pain here has been a nightmare! Ouch! First day I've woken up in ages with no headache Smile

Yoga starts on Tuesday for me, can't wait.

Glad I'm not the only one on a cake mission! Few days off work so sat here eating a Belgian Bun 🍰, whilst baby is flipping over in my stomach. Guess she's enjoying the cake too!! 😄

Anyone going to the baby show on Saturday??
