Cherry I'm mad for you! How could he do that to you. He Best Buy you something to make up for it!
Also I've not felt anything really and it's my second so they say it's earlier. Everyone's different. With my first it wasn't till I was 25 weeks or so that I felt proper kicks and could see it moving so I knew it was baby and not gas. Grin

Thank you! Very excited. Oh good to know about packers. I think it's going to be my new house present to myself!

Woodsy81 · 17/02/2016 12:30

Welcome back Katyee. :)

I love the cosatto prams. They are so bright, practical and are great value for money - trying to decide between that and the silver cross surf (which seems expensive).

Lovely pics of everyones bumps.

Anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed by how much there is to do for baby arriving?

Yesterday afternoon I had a lot of movement from baby, much more than I have been feeling and I think it just hit home what was happening....like an OMG I'm having a baby moment. Suddenly felt very emotional. Started thinking that we have done nothing in preparation for baby arriving (we were waiting for last weeks 20 week scan) - There is still lots to do to our house as well (lucky DH is very handy at DIY). Feeling a bit better today about things.

I have an early ante-natal class tomorrow. Hoping to meet some mums to be in the local area as all of my close friends with kids live miles and miles away.

Thom80 · 17/02/2016 12:50

I had my first yoga class today. I have done Bikram yoga before (a while ago) but this was more relaxing. I really enjoyed it and pleased I went. Booked in for next week.

I have done nothing to prepare for the baby. I am very nervous / anxious about getting anything too early. My OH wants to wait until about four weeks until the baby is due before we do anything! I have been awake since 2am worrying about everything. Exhausted!
Cherry - I hope you get a cake tonight to make up for it!

KayTee87 · 17/02/2016 13:23

Cheery how rubbish but I bet he just wanted to show off your baking skills to his friends at work. My husband has asked me a few times if I will bake things for him to take into work as some of the other guys wives do ha-ha.

Woodsy I do really like it, but I must admit I didn't look at anything else at all. It seemed like it has everything we need at well below budget and the most important thing was that DH chose it with no interference from me. I don't feel too overwhelmed yet but my 20 week scan isn't until 3rd March so not planning to do anything else until March anyway.

Thom I'm sorry you're worried :( I don't really have anything useful to suggest sorry.

Cheery1 · 17/02/2016 13:33

Primary - think we're in a similar boat after recent losses - makes the whole process more anxious eh? But we can support each other and remind ourselves to try to enjoy it all Smile. Thom - sounds like you're in our club too! I think getting some stuff after 20 weeks might help with any anxiety - I'm so glad you went to yoga. I've found it so beneficial and really helpful with trying to relax about it all. It feels like it's doing me and the baby good - though I often feel wiped out after a class.

Ha Anna! I dunno whether I'll get a replacement but he won't do it again after my rant!

kaytee - you're really sweet and I'll take that, he's showing off my baking skills, it was a really nice cake.

Woodsy - hope you meet some nice mums at your class tomorrow. That's been an unexpected benefit from yoga - met a lovely woman who's a couple of weeks ahead of me and loves round the corner. Have to say it's made me feel a lot better about the whole "Oh good lord, we actually seem to be having a baby" alarm!

Going to have to look at cosatto prams now too!

Cheery - I have also been going to acupuncture to try with the stress & anxiety. Fingers crossed we all start to feel better after 20 weeks!
I am now sitting here thinking of cake! Trying to be good.....

mascaraisamust · 17/02/2016 14:14

I'll join the anxious crew too, feel so much better about the lack of movement reading your posts. Even my mum asked last night if I'd felt baby kick yet!

Kaytee I have the giggle2, got a good deal at mothercare in January. Love the loud patterns.

Thom, the yoga teacher said I'm next on the waiting list, fingers crossed I can start soon then! Can't wait to have something to relax me!

At the spa, battling the headache still. Seems to be wearing off slowly now though. My main job is eating and trying to stay afloat (I found it hard to swim, needed a float)!

mascaraisamust · 17/02/2016 14:14

Cheery, can't believe he took all the cake Shock I'd also like cake right now

KayTee87 · 17/02/2016 14:22

Mascara we got it in mothercare in January too, I actually saw it £20 cheaper online and they honoured that price! 4 year guarantee also was very pleased with their service.
I've booked myself a spa day for the end of march, something to look forward to at easter weekend :)
Weird question but how much water do you all drink a day? Im finding myself drinking 3 litres - seems like a lot but I must need it if I'm thirsty? The only other drinks I have are one cup of tea in the morning and a can of caffeine free diet coke at lunch.

mascaraisamust · 17/02/2016 14:25

About the same kaytee to be honest, I have to keep these wicked headaches at bay! I find if I don't drink in the night the next day is a migraine fest!!

Looks like we got the same deal, what pattern did you go for? Can't wait to push it around!

KayTee87 · 17/02/2016 14:31

Toodle pip - there was some gorgeous patterns online, that was the pattern in store at the time. My favourite was probably the navy and white striped one with a red bow but wasn't sure if it was a bit girly or not.
I always have a pint of water next to the bed, wake up through the night to drink and pee about 3 or 4 times. I think the next time I get a good night's sleep will be at least 18 years away!

Scase1firsttimemum · 17/02/2016 14:39

Ive got quite a few bits now! Went to Mothercare yesterday with OHs mum and she just went crazy and spoilt our little cherub SmileThanks got some really cute stuff and found a rocking crib I like instead of a moses basket Grin getting that later on though

Everyone has such lovely bumps, sorry Ive not commented on them just been quite busy and been skimming through the posts..

Ive been interested in baby wearing so when Ive got time I shall read the post about them :)

Sorry Ive missed a few things but as I said Ive been skimming through, will try to catch up properly but everyones so chatty! Love it though Smile

19+1

mascaraisamust · 17/02/2016 14:55

Yes mine was toodle pip too, nearly got another colour but like you at the time I was trying to be gender neutral! Now I'm glad I've chosen toodle pip for my boy Smile DH felt more comfortable pushing that pattern too!

KayTee87 · 17/02/2016 15:40

I have a feeling we"re having a boy too, can't wait to find out.
Are any of you buying a nursing chair? My back isn't the greatest at the best of times and worry about cluster feeding for hours on a couch with no support. I would probably want some sort of chair in the nursery anyway but most nursing chairs are quite ugly.

Cheery1 · 17/02/2016 15:42

Thom - I love the sound of acupuncture, but we're on such a tight budget at the mo (partly because I'm pretty sure that work is starting to dry up for me now, my industry isn't very kind to pregnant ladies). Yoga is my extravagance and I won't give it up!

Mascara - hope you get into yoga soon, it's really great. Wish we both had cake!!

Cheery1 · 17/02/2016 15:57

P.S. Pinsey - hope you're headache goes soon, you poor thing!

Bluebell - I too am a cross training convert. I usually run (A LOT) but really didn't feel right once I found out I was pregnant - too high intensity. Loving the cross trainer though aaaand you can read a book while you're on it so time flies. How long do you do?

OP posts:
Cheery1 · 17/02/2016 15:58

Kaytee - look on ebay for nursing chairs - we got a beautiful antique one for £40!

Sorry haven't been on here for a week or so.... Lots of post since so hard to catch up properly....

Was worried on Saturday that if felt no movements... had just texted my midwife when my baby give me 3 proper thuds/kicks that I felt without a hand on my belly- Movements have been increasing daily ever since. Very odd but lovely feeling!! ☺️

Has anyone had any thoughts about if they are going to give birth at home or hospital?

19+5 ( 2 days until next scan!)

birdandbee · 17/02/2016 16:18

Hope everyone is doing ok? 😊

GoingLoopyQuickly · 17/02/2016 16:22

If anyone is interested in looking at sligs and carriers just to see what there is out there, check out "affordable slings and carriers" facebook group. Just search for it and send a request to join.

Cookiesandcoffee · 17/02/2016 16:48

cheery I would have dug my DH a grave if he stole a whole cake! GrinGrin no one should ever steal cake from a pregnant lady! I would expect a gift/food gift in its place.
woodsy hope you meet some nice new mums tomorrow. Downside to being my 3rd I feel silly going to anything, but would love to meet some new 'mum friends' as none of them are having babies at the moment and won't know anyone with a newborn.
bluebell same- the cross trainer has been a very good friend of mine since being pregnant. I find it not too much. This week I've retired from the treadmill, and the rower hasn't been touched in a good few weeks now. There have been a few things I've decreased by weights with this week-agree was my body telling me it was time.
julfin I'm sure I add to this weekly. It's usually food related Blush eg I wanted a particular food and couldn't have it!
Awesome bumpie scase
thom glad you enjoyed the yoga!
mascara I hope the headache shifts really soon and you can enjoy the spa. Lots of water and relaxing. Not big movements here and had started to worry, people keep on asking too and I feel like a fraud saying I don't feel loads.
kaytee yep about 3L here too. Have to! Today I haven't and feel horrendous!

Jem01 · 17/02/2016 17:06

Happy hump day ladies!

Ellizardo it's great isn't it?! Stumbled across it a few weeks ago, really good reviews and and lots of useful tips too. Lewisham hospital so far so good. My GP is utter crap though. I'm not surprised as primary care is so so bad these days so I'm having all my care at the hospital now. How are you finding it?

AnnaT45 congrats on selling your house and yes absolutely use a packing service! Ones we used when we moved were brilliant, so helpful!

KayTee87 yes love hearing the heartbeat and also looking into nursing chairs but can't find one I like the look of. Look more like nursing home chairs!! Lol and welcome back too :-)

Cheery1 I laughed when I read your message. I would be furious if hubby left me no cake!! Now you have an excuse to bake another, save me a slice :-)

woodsy hope your class goes well and you meet some friendly mums!

birdandbee it's my first so not feeling brave enough to do a home birth, maybe for the second though..what about you? Is your scan this Friday too? Mine is.

Ellizardo · 17/02/2016 18:22

Kaytee - re nursing chairs, I think it depends on the layout of your place. I found myself feeding everywhere in the flat in the first few months and lying on my bed for the nighttime feeds as there wasn't any space in his nursery for a chair. So my MIL bought 'the donut' (not its official name!) which is a round C shaped firm cushion which I put around my front waist and was the perfect portable feeding piece of kit! Couldn't recommend highly enough and much cheaper than a chair (though not much cheaper than Cheery's very nice sounding vintage one!).

Cheery - I'm astounded by Cakegate. Grounds for divorce. I went to M&S today and bought 9 mini afternoon tea fairy cakes and have eaten four already. Do I leave my OH any when he comes home from the pub tonight? I am torn...advice please. (They are very delicious and I'm having salad for dinner....can you see where I am going with this?).

Loopy - yes I have an Uppababy Vista 2015..really pleased it came out when it did as it should see me through both kids until they no longer need it. Worth it considering it's ££.

Anna - packers all the way..I cannot get over how much easier they make your life. We used F Smith & Sons if it helps (London area). Congrats on the sale. We're still waiting to move in, argh. I am a radiator valve expert now though.

Thom - really pleased you enjoyed yoga. I'm off to pilates tomorrow can't wait!

Jem - Exactly same experience as you. All stuff done through hospital as GP pretty crap. In fact they are most useful for having a nice clean loo in the middle of Greenwich which I occasionally pop in to use during my near-constant need to pee!

Thom80 · 17/02/2016 18:35

Elliz - I should probably know this, but what is the difference between yoga and Pilates?

Couldn't agree more about primary care. I haven't been to my GP at all & didn't even tell them. I see little point in going there. Hospital has been great.

KayTee87 · 17/02/2016 18:49

Arghh bit of a rant. I really fancy a bit of chocolate and asked my husband if he would nip to the shop to get me some while I went for a bath. He gets in over an hour before me from work so he's had his downtime, a bath is mine. He said no I'm not going out, if u want chocolate u will need to go yourself. Am I being irrational by being really annoyed at him? I've always thought that was the thing the men did during pregnancy - it's not like it's 3 in the morning and I'm asking for something really obscure. I'm trying my hardest not to act precious while being pregnant but I honestly didn't think it was an unreasonable request. So now I'm really pissed off at him Sad
