Oh bluebell lovely pics! Try not to worry and get off google! I tend to think only those with negative stories post about things so you're bound to end up thinking the worse. I've also always got a few extra pics with last pregnancy and this one. Think they are just nice!

Sorry for all those not sleeping, it's awful. I think I'm getting the start of a bug! Been feeling really sick since last night and am not hot and weak. Supposed to be going on a hen do tonight which I'm really looking forward to, so hoping it passes. Nick Jr will be looking after DD today!

Heard baby heartbeat yesterday but took a while. Apparently I've got another active one!
Hope you all have good days and are looking forward to the weekend!

Bluebell20 · 12/02/2016 11:58

Thanks guys :)

I actually found some really good NHS material on Google in the end, which was very reassuring. Apparently in most cases the echogenic bowel just disappears over time without explanation. It is a soft marker for Downs, but as I've had the Harmony and no other markers, this seems unlikely. It can also be an indication of Cystic Fibrosis, or of an infection I might have picked up and passed on to the baby.

From what I've read on the NHS, it sounds like I will have another scan to confirm the echogenic bowel, at which point DH and I will have blood tests for the CF marker, and I will have blood tests for a few viruses, and then if nothing comes of any of that, I'll have another growth scan to double check everything is proceeding as it should.

I've also just received the terribly sad news this morning that a friend of mine has secondary cancer, which has been diagnosed as terminal, and to be honest? Pretty much puts everything into perspective. I am very thankful for how lucky I am to be healthy and happy and having this little baby boy.

GoingLoopyQuickly · 12/02/2016 12:27

I am glad you found some reassuring information. I am a little jealous you have been able to have the harmony test. It isn't offered in my area and we can't afford to have it privately.

I am sorry about your freind too. Big hugs to you and all the other J16 mums having a tough time atm.

Bluebell great pics. I'm glad you've found some reassurance online and I'm sure all will be fine. Sorry for the sad news about your friend though.

Ooh Indians naughty but nice, enjoy!

minieggaddict · 12/02/2016 15:55

Just back from scan. All good and looks like we're having a boy (or a girl with a willy as out was pretty obvs really). My pics were awful tho! One blurry foot and a spine as he kept turning away and I think the lady got annoyed. So the old wives tale of less morning sickness and craving savoury with a boy is rubbish. Hmmm now to think of names Hmm... And eat some wine gums.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 12/02/2016 15:56

I'm sorry to say my dad passed away this morning. It wasn't exactly a shock, because he was so very ill, but there had been a bit of an improvement in recent days so it is a bit of a shock still. I won't be around too much for a bit, but I'll try and keep an eye on how you are all getting on. Hope everything continues to go OK for you all xx

CultureSucksDownWords · 12/02/2016 16:05

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut, oh, I am so sorry. Flowers

photographerlady · 12/02/2016 16:17

Hi ladies. Anyone else very snappy at the moment? Work is really getting me down, I think its the combination of budgets and my own hormones. Been very snappy with people. Will try and have a fresh start on monday.

BeauticianNotMagician81 I feel you on the emotional side of things. I am a right mess to be around at the moment.

Jem01 scan will be here before you know it.

Bluebell20 lovely scan photos. Silly Google if you are all concerned maybe get in touch with your midwife for peace of mind. And really sorry to hear about your friend.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut thoughts with you.

So very sorry to hear that youandme my thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult timeThanksThanks

Bluebell20 · 12/02/2016 16:51

YouAndMe, I'm so sorry. What a terrible time for you and your family. My thoughts are with you. Flowers

Thanks everyone for your cheery comments. The FMU just phoned and have booked me in for a scan next Thursday, which is sooner than I thought it would be. I am putting worries to the back of my mind and am just very much looking forward to seeing my baby again. Lucky me, with a jammy third scan!

Mini, welcome to team blue! Sorry that the pics were rubbish, though. Mine wouldn't show his face until I went for a wee and he could move a bit better! We are going through names now, too. Finding it tricky. There just aren't any boys' names that I LOVE, you know? Not that DH loves as well, anyway. My favourite of the ones we both like is 'Leofric', but it is so hard to pronounce (Lay-o-fritch) and I don't want to condemn my poor child to a lifetime of having to patiently explain how to pronounce his weird Saxon name... So will probably go for something much less interesting.

photographer, I've been quite teary, too. I burst into tears in the car when I heard the news about poor Milly Dowler the other day - obviously it's very sad, but I wouldn't normally react like that.

youandme so, so sorry. Thinking of you xxxxFlowers

Youandme, oh wow. My thoughts are with you. Take care of yourself.

Bluebell, glad your scan is happening so quickly.

My mood this week has been akin to angry, tetchy gorgon, that's liable to kill you with stoney silence, and that needs to pee a lot. A tetchy, peeing gorgon.

Vickie360 · 12/02/2016 17:59

youandme so sorry to hear your terrible news thoughts are with you and your family Flowers.

minieggaddict · 12/02/2016 18:05

Youandme - so sorry to read your news. Take care.x

Yep, very emo and snappy here too. Just been thru dds clothes as I guess we won't need them again and now I feel like crying! They just grow up too quick and now I miss my little podgy baby girl Sad... She's 4 now and the days and years have vanished! That's my advice to those of you first timers: Cherish every second of them even when they're being evil Wink

mascaraisamust · 12/02/2016 18:08

Haha thanks Minie!

Well what's for dinner all? In craving a Chinese! Haven't had one yet... Been paranoid of all the rubbish they put in them.x

Bluebell20 · 12/02/2016 18:40

mascara I'm having a take on a fish pie concocted by DH... Fish cooked in a cider, mustard, cream and (allotment) leek sauce, topped with sliced potatoes, served with purple sprouting broc from our allotment... Mmmmmm.

Ellizardo · 12/02/2016 18:40

Chorizo and squid slow cooked tomato sauce with pasta and M&S
Pud!

Go for the Chinese mascara! They've been my main craving and haven't disappointed! X

Ellizardo · 12/02/2016 18:41

Bluebell that sounds absolutely amazing!! Never tried fish in cider, yum!

AnnaT45 · 12/02/2016 18:46

You and me I'm so sorry for your loss. I really hope you take the time you need to grieve and look after yourself. Thanks

Well I've felt awful all day! Unable to move. Poor DD has entertained herself and been as good as gold. I've had to skip the hen do and about to go to bed with Netflix!

Yum to all the food! Go for a Chinese! I had one last weekend was awesome.

Youandme - so sad to hear about your sad news, and thinking of you at this difficult time.
Bluebell - I understand the anxiety. I found out quite early on that I was high risk for heart and neurological abnormalities and read far too much on the Internet. I have since tried to limit my access! I am seeing all the extras scans I have as an extra opportunity to see her. Still hard the not knowing. My abnormality scan is in just over two weeks and fetal heart scan at the end of March.
