Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 44th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 57th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

How exciting mermaid! Congratulations!

I could totally eat a whole pineapple if I had one available. Just attempted to make beetroot crisps, but it did not go well.

CarrotPuff · 20/01/2016 23:25

Congrats merm, wonderful news!

I think someone is having scan tomorrow? Enjoy seeing your wriggly bean!

Who asked about blankets? A couple fleecy ones, 1-2 cellular and 1-2 cotton ones (or more cellular). And shitloads of muslins. I wouldn't get a swaddle until baby is here - you can try swaddling into cellular blanket at first and see if you and baby like it and then get a posh one if you want. Not all babies like being restrained - my DS screamed bloody murder.

Oh dear jelly is your tongue still alive? You're brave, considering you already got arse rain...

YogaPants · 20/01/2016 23:26

Ahhhh, Mermaid how exciting/scary, exciting/scary all at once!

Thurs I was in Florida visiting family (where it was stormy) and a short stint in the Carribean. So I've jumped from 27 degrees on the sun, 19 degrees and raining and -5 and frosty at home this morning in the period of just over a week. DH and I have been referring to it at our last holiday with just the two of us. I felt the first baby kicks on the beach which is making it all feel very real!

LaLaLaaaa · 21/01/2016 02:36

Popped in to say hi and spotted the swaddle chat. You can buy swaddled now that allow for hip development (my DS had DDH). All the swaddle pods sold now pretty much have wider bit from hips. Baby should be able to have legs in frog position to allow for healthy hip development so don't swaddle them tight. I found the Love2Swaddle and Swaddle pods really good as DS had terrible startle reflex and would constantly wake himself up. Careful if swaddling though about temperature - babies can overheat if you don't take swaddle layers into account.

Is a receiving blanket the thing they use in the hospital? If so its just a bog standard blanket! We just have a few cellular and a couple of fleecy ones. DS was large so I only used blankets for a few weeks then he went straight into sleeping bags.

LaLaLaaaa · 21/01/2016 02:37

this is the kind of thing I mean - see how it widens at the hips to allow for frog position of legs

jellypi3 · 21/01/2016 04:33

Hey la :) thanks for the swaddle info!

Yeah pret kind of an attempt to get things going. Not that it worked, just gave me wind. I'm sure this baby is going to be a very late comer.

CarrotPuff · 21/01/2016 07:51

My hips hurt as if I was sleeping on a stone bench Sad

ThursdayLastWeek · 21/01/2016 08:15

Good tips La. The grosnug I'm getting is one of those safer type blankets I think. In our hospital the MW swaddled DS with just a normal blanket, they don't half look cute all wrapped up (if there's no issues obvs).

Oh carrot Sad you poor thing. I wish I had some way to help, but it's not something I've experienced I'm afraid.

jelly you're crackers. A whole pineapple?! Crackers.

Sounds lovely yoga, and those first kicks are amazing too aren't they?

I only like beetroot crisps if they've had all the goodness fried out of them and lagged in salt sock!

Hope you're ok pretz?

We had a mini-victory with DS. He slept in his cot ALL NIGHT and didn't try and wake up until after 7am. So consequently I feel like a new woman this morning Grin.

Congratulations Thursday! Hope he's not too full of beans today!

La thanks for info! Haven't decided if we will swaddle, guess it depends on baby!

jellypi3 · 21/01/2016 09:07

I've got a gro snug too, not sure if I'm going to use the swaddle function or just use as a sleeping bag!

It was a small pineapple to be fair...ok I'm just a pig!

I was awake from 2:30 till 6 this morning. Managed 3 hours nap, I'm tired now!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 21/01/2016 09:15

DP flipped the mattress last night and found my secret Maoam stash that I'd forgotten about Blush

Jelly you need to be having the sex and lots of it if you want that baby out. Pineapple only works if you eat like 8 of them. Don't give yourself heartburn!

FeatheredTail · 21/01/2016 09:24

Score on the sleep front thurs!

Sorry you're in so much pain Carrot. Is there anything you can try for relief? Stretches, anti inflammatories?

I also had a sht nights sleep Jelly*. I think I'm getting super subconsciously paranoid about turning onto my right side. I'm really trying to stay on my left but I need to roll/move about in the night. I've been waking up freaked out that I'm on my right and can't get back to sleep. Wahhhhh. I miss sleeping on my tummy SO MUCH!

honeysucklejasmine · 21/01/2016 09:28

I sleep on my right all the time Feathered. I think JC did too.

Sky love that you have a secret stash!

Carrot can you go swimming? Sad

pretzelpieces · 21/01/2016 09:38

sky Grin maoam stash!

5hell glad first nct went well.

carrot I'm sure you've already tried this but pillows between the knees? Quilt under the sheet? Stretching the hips can help too - to loosen the muscle over the top of the fluid sacs which can contribute to pressure. GX something helps, I've had similar issues.

thurs hooray for a well rested toddler and mum!

We've been given some adorable giant muslins with animals on that can be used to swaddle newborns or just as giant muslins so will see if she takes to it or not.

I had a seriously horrible nightmare last night that this baby was my abusive fuckwit ex boyfriend's not my DP's. Urgh it felt so real and we shagged in the dream too

Today I'm going to a posh cake place where I probably won't be able to eat anything with the nct ladies (yes, I did suggest we go somewhere else since I have gd, but it wasn't popular). Please let my attempts to make conversation with them not feel like ritual humiliation this time. Hmm

pretzelpieces · 21/01/2016 09:44

feathered sorry for the rubbish night's sleep. Like honey, I lay on both sides. I have to turn a lot because of the aforementioned hip problems. Baby is in Left Occipital Lateral position now at 38+1 so it seems to have been outweighed by the amount of walking (waddling) I do/random chance/gravity defying baby. I was always a tummy sleeper and I wake myself up getting pulled onto my front by the weight of my bump and getting sore where I squash the baby! Shock I hope she's alright... We can't control what we do in our sleep!

jellypi3 · 21/01/2016 09:48

sky we've been attempting this too, well not shagging but some mutual 2am pleasuring! Although orgasms feel very uncomfortable, almost painful lol!

feathered I sleep on both sides. I'd rather get some semblance of sleep than struggle on my left!!

carrot duvet under matress worked for me for a while, I'd recommend it personally.

Can we assume gouda has had her baby?

jellypi3 · 21/01/2016 09:55

pret enjoy the nct meet up, hopefully it's a bit easier.

CarrotPuff · 21/01/2016 10:53

Pret that's very inconsiderate of them Angry I hope you meet some nicer mums once mini pretzel is here.

Thanks for suggestions viroids. I'll try duvet under sheets tonight. Tbh I think it's partly due to me overdoing it last night. Had rubbish sleep so I'm mega tired, achy, work is boring and I already had too many biscuits. Grump grump grump Confused

CarrotPuff · 21/01/2016 10:57

Oh and feathered I think sleeping on your left is absolute bollocks. No one ever sleeps in one position all night. Do what you feel is comfortable. Your body will tell you if it's dangerous.

If you don't have pelvic issues, you can try putting a pillow on front of you, and putting your bent upper leg on top of it. It gives you an illusion of front sleeping without leaning too much onto your front.

FeatheredTail · 21/01/2016 11:20

Thanks for the reassurance on my night time rolling all. Carrot I'll definitely be trying out that pillow trick, thank you.

Hahahaha, Sky - I love that you stash sweets under the mattress!

Oooh - blanket info! You learn something new every day! I'd only written "blankets" on my spreadsheet before. Now I shall be amending to include cellular and woolly separately!

5hell glad your first NCT got off to a good start. What are the other couples like? I don't think you can be too far from me (and Honey)....you're in Herts, right?

Pretz why do you feel ritually humiliated with the other NCT Mums? You're lovely! You shouldn't feel inferior or embarrassed! Try to enjoy yourself and relax. I've recently been trying my hardest to remember that you can't control what other people think of you or their reactions to what you say and so you shouldn't try. Just be yourself. (and if they're still 'ends, then screw them!!)

FeatheredTail · 21/01/2016 11:23

Also - I'm now really embarrassed I said I was "concerned" about not gaining that much weight. I used some different scales today and let's just say I have no need to be concerned on that front.....especiallly after my - quite frankly, AMAZING - performance at "beat the buffet" in my hotel this morning. Fruit? Yes. Yoghurt? Yes. Porridge? Yes. Croissant? Yes. Fried bread, bacon, tomato? Yes. Mini box of fruit and fibre slipped into my handbag should I get peckish on the train back to London? Yes.

YES YES YES.

waddles off

jellypi3 · 21/01/2016 11:29

I'm envious of your breakfast feathered!! I've totally not had two breakfasts already Wink

KeepTheHope · 21/01/2016 11:36

Here is a camera shy baby who decided it likes lying the wrong way up and had to be jiggled about. A few days further along than I thought so now 13 weeks today Grin

It's the calm before the storm (sort of) that is Fantastic February and the March Madness - we did a lot of shagging last summer! We need more JSers on this, our 44th thread!
honeysucklejasmine · 21/01/2016 11:48

Ha ha ha Feathered your breakfast sounds amazing!

We really should do a Herts mini get together. Will have to look at a map and find the most central location of us all.

FeatheredTail · 21/01/2016 11:53

Ahhhh, lovely shot Keep! Smile

Haha, Jelly - the only downside to my breakfast extravaganza is that I've just realised it's vegetable lasagne day at the work canteen. I bloody love that lasagne and now I'm panicking there's not enough space in my stomach to eat it....
