Aagghh I've missed so much but wanted to answer you Crispy!! It is a similar issue, but my Doppler readings have been very abnormal, some days well over the 95th percentile and off the charts!!

Suz hope you got sorted?

Can't wait for bed. Another one here who was awake in the night! Zzzzzz

Paperblank · 06/01/2016 20:27

In bed! Knackered.

DH has forgotten what I look like! oh well Grin

I've been really rubbish and not done anything, I had a lie down when dh got home and have had plenty of wriggles, still not entirely sure it's as much as usual but seems ok.

MyNameIsSuz · 06/01/2016 20:51

I think I'm just worried because once I've thought something it's hard to get it out of my head, if that makes sense.

Missikat · 06/01/2016 23:02

Hope all's well Suz. I would say if you're still not sure the movements are quite normal tomoz then go. My whole situation started with a little bit of blood which is why I ended up calling 111, who advised to call labour suite, who said go in to be checked, who then found I was 2cm dilated and I was admitted....and we all know what happened after that! I was going to do nothing At all and only called 111 as my yoga teacher said maybe best to get checked out. Don't want to scare you in any way and if baby is moving then I'm sure all is fine but just to say if you're still worried tomoz then go get checked out (or maybe just call labour suite like I did for advice?)

Hope everyone gets some better sleep tonight.

Wow 181 posts and this is me just getting a chance to post! What a chatty lot you are!

Glad to see everyone had a nice Xmas and new year. We certainly did too, nice and quiet - exactly how we wanted it this year.

Missi glad Zach is doing well, he looks to be coming on a treat. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be for you and your family right now. Really appreciate you taking the time to keep us updated on how you're both doing.

Sorry to those having worries. Suz I'd defo go get checked if I were you. I've had a couple of instances of spotting and/or reduced movement and they're always more than happy to check/reassure at the hospital. I always say how I don't want to waste their time but they would rather you go and it be nothing than sit at home and worry and there be something.

I was back at my consultant for my 4 weekly review yesterday and she was happy with how things are going with my blood pressure (finally!!) so she doesn't want to see me again now til 39 weeks when she will induce me Grin!! Have to continue fortnightly visits with the MW until 35 weeks and then go to weekly for the last 4.

Apart from that, not much else going on with me. Except I'm back st work today after 3 weeks annual leave. Could cry about it tbh :-( dreading it so much this morning. But hey ho needs must and I'm due to finish for leave on 19th Feb - I see there's a fair few of us finishing the same date Grin I'm just hoping I manage til then as the latest I've worked with prev pregnancies was 34 weeks which would be another 2 weeks n a couple of days just. Pelvis is playing up really badly as well this week so fingers crossed it settles and let's me keep on working for a few more weeks yet as my works mat pay is govt minimum Sad.

Sorry for the mammoth post! Have a good day everyone.

docmcstuffins1 · 07/01/2016 07:58

Morning all. Suz hope all is well this morning, I agree with everyone else, do go and get things checked out if any concerns today.
Missi it's shocking that mums of premature babies only get the same maternity privileges as full termers, I think there should be extra allowance from the government to stop you bin hit hard financially during what is already a difficult time.
I slept a bit better last night but full of cold today, luckily I'm off today so planning to do very little indeed.

maybebabybee · 07/01/2016 08:50

Suz hope all is ok today?

missi I agree that mums of premature babies ought to get more maternity allowances, it must be so hard financially for you.

Just got into work and I swear doing my commute feels like I've done a whole days' work already! Just over 3 weeks to go til I start mat leave, I can't wait.

MyNameIsSuz · 07/01/2016 09:40

Thanks everyone, it's moving a lot more today but I'm going to get checked out anyway, it's my midwife's clinic today and she's going to squeeze me on the end at half 12. Hopefully they can just listen to the heartbeat at my local surgery and won't send me on to the hospital or anything as it's so far away and I don't know who would pick up my boy from the childminder. I think it's fine, but now I've got the idea in my head I don't trust my own judgement. I'm definitely more paranoid this time since my last pregnancy ended with a mmc, that baby was gone for a good month before I knew anything about it, so I don't feel like I know what's going on in there if that makes sense.

TheMshipIsBack · 07/01/2016 10:47

Suz hope everything is ok with you today! I've been experiencing a movement pattern change over the last couple of days and keep panicking that it's reduced. Then the little pain in the bump goes and does a complete circus act in there just as I'm about to phone in. I think it's related to me being back at work and changing my own movement/sleep/wake pattern after the holidays maybe?

I'm loving working mornings only. DS loves it too - he's so happy to see me after he's had his lunch at preschool. I've probably mentioned it before, but his speech development was pretty slow; he's also not terribly social and prefers playing on his own still at 3.5y. Well, I got my first spontaneous "I love you mum" with a big hug and sticky kiss a few days ago. It was worth the wait.

19 Feb is my official last day too, I'm 38 weeks on 20 Feb.

Rosieblossom123 · 07/01/2016 11:16

Another rubbish night sleep, leg cramps all night I really had enough of it :(

My little squishy is moving nicely everyday but her movements have changed so instead of getting kicked constantly she more moving around a lot so I keep seeing waves on my belly its funny, still getting punched though haha

Anyone started washing baby's clothes? I washed all the bibs, socks and vests yesterday and it made it so real Grin

31 week appointment tomorrow + wc jab so not looking forward to it!! 5 weeks left at work can't wait.

Suz I hope everything goes okay today Flowers

TriJo · 07/01/2016 11:29

Had my 28 week appointment today at 29+4 - everything seemed ok, baby is head down as I (and my bladder in particular) suspected and HR is strong. Another pee sample sent to the lab though, 2nd appointment in a row with white cells found.

maybebabybee · 07/01/2016 11:36

I'm not bothering washing baby's clothes Blush. I'm a right slattern, best he learns that right from the off Grin

maybebabybee · 07/01/2016 11:37

rosie my WC jab was fine, barely felt it. My arm ached a little bit for a couple of days afterwards but really not much, I could still sleep on it.

Rosieblossom123 · 07/01/2016 11:49

maybe oh okay I just heard that it hurts but I'm normally fine with needles so hopefuly it goes okay, thanks hun :) To be fair some of the clothes I had to wash as they were family hand me downs so I wanted them smelling fresh.

Trinpy · 07/01/2016 11:50

Hope all goes well today Suz. It must be so difficult being pregnant again after a mmc, but great news that baby is moving around again today.

Your ds sounds very sweet Mship, I bet he loves having you around more! I've cut down my hours slightly since coming back after xmas and I love being at home more to spend some quality time with ds and dh before the baby comes.

Rosie I had my wc jab a couple of days ago and was dreading it but I felt fine afterwards, just a bit sore where I'd had it, so hopefully you'll be the same. You sound very organised getting all your baby stuff washed already. My ds keeps getting out all the baby clothes and trying to squeeze himself into them Hmm so I'm leaving the washing until we've got somewhere to store them that he can't get into!

I had my 28 week appointment the other day and I'm measuring big. Mw did try to reassure me that it could be extra fluid but my first baby was born on the 92nd centile (and my bump was only measuring on the 75th for that pregnancy), so I'm preparing myself for a big baby! I'm just going to wait and see how I'm measuring at my 34 week appointment and then possibly get all the 1 month babygros washed and ready as well as newborn stuff. Getting a bit scared of tearing now though Confused.

QforCucumber · 07/01/2016 11:50

rosie Had my Wc jab this morning, was fine but a bit achey now.

maybe I'm with you, may get around to it but no time really.

Have never had the heartbeat listened to in any of my midwife appts, apparently they just don't do it here.
Have been referred to physio for the pains though so fingers crossed that'll ease them.

mship and rosie movements have changed here, no jabs so much more sweeping rolling movements now, think its just getting comfortable in there.

DP and I had a realisation last night that we have no idea what a newborn wears/is covered with to sleep in so any help with that would be much appreciated Smile we have a moses basket and blankets and sleep suits but I don't know if there's supposed to be a specific combination or anything.

Hope everyone had a much better sleep last night!

maybebabybee · 07/01/2016 11:54

Omg Q I am with you on not knowing exactly what a newborn wears, I had the exact same realisation last night!

vroc81 · 07/01/2016 11:55

Suz hope everything is ok today. I'm the same as MShip, I think I really got into noticing the "patterns" of movement over Christmas having been a bit random before that and now I am back at work she seems to have taken to changing it and I was a bit paranoid that the evenings are less active but then its dawned on me that instead of me been active all day I'm sat at a desk which she likes kicking the edge of so is more active all day rather than having a quiet day and very active evening.

Indom that made me laugh! If your romantic rural image didn't have four lanes of traffic on the edge of the field and a puffing pregnant person huffing and swearing in old wellies and a manky fleece you have it wrong!

I've just been for my 31 week check and my blood pressure was up, to which she asked if i had any swellings, headaches etc.. The answer to which was no but there is then that paranoia as I left the surgery like am I getting a headache, does my vision look blurry...all psychosomatic I'm sure, I'll go for symptoms watch later, although now i'm worrying about it it's a viscous circle and that probably doesn't help my blood pressure. She just told me to go to the day assessment unit if I did but I'm back next week to get it checked..

Rosieblossom123 · 07/01/2016 11:58

Trinpy you could probably tell that it's my first haha trying to get things done before I have no energy as I'm starting to get really tired now and the nursery is all done so had to fill up the drawers, so exciting :) Aw bless your ds, he sounds excited :)
At my 28weeks app 3 weeks ago the mw also said I was measuring slightly over but she said it could be fluid too, I'm just hoping for an average size baby, absolutely terrified of tearing too :(

hayleycookie · 07/01/2016 12:31

Hope everything goes well today Suz. Glad bump is moving about a bit more now for you.

Q The general rule for babies is that they wear one my layer than you. With my DS he slept with a vest, under a onesie. He then usually had one thin blanket over him (cellular blanket or similar). Obviously this all varies depending on the weather, heating, room temperature etc. Hope that helps :)

Like everyone here my babies ''patterns'' have changed. They now just appear randomly whenever he feels like it. I'm still getting jabs and kicks, but getting a lot more rolling about too. I'm getting them either side of me so I'm pretty sure he's still transverse. Does anyone know which week they should be in position by?

Vroc My blood pressure and heart rate were down at my 28 week check and I had no symptoms either, but like you I started to doubt myself and wonder if I was experiencing any. I'm back on 15th to check it out again.

Rosie I done the same last week Grin Sorted out vests in one section, onesies in another, a basket for muslins, one for socks, mittens and hats, one basket for two piece outfits. It's all very organised clothes wise but I'm yet to stock up on nappies, wipes and creams. I haven't got anything sorted hospital bag wise yet either. That's next on my list after payday!

To those worrying about tearing...don't! Listen to your midwife, and pant when she says to. You're more likely to tear because you're pushing at the ''wrong'' time. She will tell you to stop pushing when the baby is starting to crown and tell you pant. We will all be fine with no tears, no stitches, and perfect lovely births........ Wink

Rhubard Have you thought any more about having an elcs?

MyNameIsSuz · 07/01/2016 12:52

So... I'm not getting checked out. Have wasted a lot of time on the phone! I called the midwives this morning (based at the local MLU), they were lovely but said as my midwife has her clinic today up at the doctors I should book in there. So I did that and agreed with my boss I'd leave at lunchtime. But then she called me and said there wasn't much she could do but I should ring the assessment unit at the hospital, which I did. They don't want to see me either! She told me to go and lie down for at least two hours and call them back if I have less than ten movements in that time. So I've just got home and am lying on my bed with a coke and a magazine. Oh well. Such a waste of time though Sad

Don't worry about tearing, I don't think you can predict it really and it's not necessarily to do with big babies - I had an episiotomy with my little 6lb7 ds because he was coming out with his hand on his face and elbowing me all the way down! I barely felt it anyway, and that was just on gas and air.

I'm planning on putting the baby to sleep in a vest, babygro and swaddle blanket. I'm another who hasn't washed anything - I also haven't actually got any of it down from the loft or bought any drawers to put it in! I'll get organised this month for sure.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 07/01/2016 12:54

for anyone wondering about what babies wear at night - with DD I found this guide (and the one on the grobag website) really useful:

www.thelittlegreensheep.co.uk/baby-sleep-advice.aspx

DD was a winter baby and our house isn't double glazed due to being in a conservation area, so it was freezing and we had no clue how many layers we should put on her - this time we're going to be just as clueless as it will be a lot warmer!

Also, I heartily recommend getting grobags for babies to sleep in. We found with DD we could get her in her cot but then ended up waking her up when putting blankets on her/tucking them in. with the grobag you just put them straight down and they stay down (if you're lucky)....

MyNameIsSuz · 07/01/2016 13:12

Yes, definitely to the baby sleeping bags! We used them from about four months last time and will again, I plan to get some of the zip-up swaddles for the newborn days.

Me624 · 07/01/2016 13:18

Another miserable night's sleep for me too Sad I woke up at 5am with diarrhoea for the third day in a row! It's bizarre because I don't have it throughout the day. I stopped taking the movicol I was prescribed 2 days ago as I am clearly not constipated, thought that might clear it up but not yet, bleugh.

Suz sorry you're being messed around. Hope you get lots of reassuring movement.

Like others my movements are much more rolling now than kicks, although I do get the kicks sometimes still. I do wonder what he's doing in there.

My pelvis is really aching today. It's not out at my hips but more my pubic bone, right in the middle. Really hoping it's not the start of SPD or similar!
