OhWool - yes, most of the time One Born looks over medicalised, till you see the American way. Didn't they make midwifery illegal (maybe in some parts)? Though I think it's starting to change in places. I think this is why Ina May Gaskin's books seem quite so hippy, they're up against quite a machine.
Paper, sounds like FTM normal worries to me! Rest assured, if I can do it (and DS is still alive at nearly 5!) anyone can!
Ooh, Q, sounds sore. Glad baby is ok. Rest up now, you'll be stiff tomorrow.
Eek! That is terrifying, Me! (Glad mine's in the car already!).
maybe there was a thread about vibrating babies. DS used to feel like he was whirring, like a washing machine went on in there. Turns out when he got excited he would shake his fists (he's grown out of it now!). Apparently it's a fairly common and entirely normal sensation, something to do with neurological development.
Oh no, Tri. Sorry to hear that. Better luck next time.
Ooh, doc, that sounds uncomfortable! I had digs making me jump in assembly this morning, that was bad enough. Glad I didn't have that though!
I sympathise, Suz. I've had the head-grinding-into-bladder for a few hours the last few mornings. Feel desperate for a wee and then manage to generate a drop if lucky. I find myself doing a silly walk and physically holding my belly up with my hands trying to relieve the pressure!
Did neh update? Or is she MIA? Hope everything's ok.
