I'm with you nails and will be applying the same philosophy to the flu jab, for example. I'm fit and healthy, no underlying conditions, I've had real flu once in my whole adult life, have never had the jab routinely (even when I was a front line NHS worker) and as we are coming to the end of the season I'll take the 'risk' of not having it. I've never been keen on one size fits all rules, and I feel a lot of the food restrictions are very much overplayed. I was talking to my mum this morning about seafood and she said 'but you can't have that can you?' I told her I can have whatever I want, whether I should have some things is debatable, but seafood is not one of them. Maybe it is a subsequent baby thing, I imagine I did as I was told with my 1st!
I'm feeling good today, just had a lovely healthy homemade fruit milkshake and cheese & crackers for lunch (manchego, but I'd have swapped for brie if I had any in!)
I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 2lb since New Year. I'm attributing this to the reduction in alcohol calories, which increased significantly over Xmas (before I knew) and then stopped suddenly at New Year (when I began to query!) Plus I'm making a big effort to eat better and not just reach for rubbish snacks when I'm hungry.
Booking in appt for me on Friday morning, I'm sure it will be a bit of a let down but I'm keen to get in the system and get a scan date now, dying to know all is ok and be able to tell the kids! Assuming all is OK, I'll admit to doing a fair bit of worrying about what I see as my 'fairly minor' symptoms, especially on days where I feel pretty good!
