Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 43rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 42nd grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

Niff I practically just licked the screen thinking about rare steak. NOM. Hope you enjoyed it!

Do any of you know whether the offers on at Mother Care, John Lewis etc come up quite regularly? There's a good offer on at Mother Care at the mo - buy a maxi cosi seat and get the fixer free! There's also a buy a Silver Cross pioneer pram and get the car seat free offer on at JL.

They both end next week. I didn't want to make any of the big purchases yet, without further research, but don't want to miss good offers.

fruitlovingmonkey · 11/01/2016 17:43

No idea Feathered, could you buy it and leave it in the box, then take it back if you decide on another system?
Congrats on the house Kate, that is exciting. Well done timing the move during pregnancy so you won't have to help carry the boxes!
Sounds like mini cheese could still turn Gouda. I really must read up on all this birth jargon, I'm still blissfully ignorant.
Well done Niff, good to keep the iron levels up before labour!
Fruitman has been having a non stop party today, I guess this is the start of feeling movements practically every hour.

pretzelpieces · 11/01/2016 21:53

gouda Oh yes there was cake, it was on the top layer with the scones. I only managed a taste cause I was so full! What a waste. Mini pretzel is back to back too and I have the same worries, especially cause of the induction thing as well. Tried spinning babies and all sorts but she's stubborn like her mum

I bawled my eyes out over David Bowie this morning.

Sorry your foof is giving you trouble carrot, get well soon Flowers

Discofairypants · 11/01/2016 22:34

gouda my dd was in the perfect position until 2 days before labour when she then turned back to back. Labour was about 16 hours from first contraction to birth (which is not at all as long as it sounds) and she gradually turned on the way out ... Being born at 9 1/2 pound. I'm not going to lie, it hurt, but I have nothing to compare it to and managed it with gas and air (not intentionally I might add ... It's not big and it's not clever Grin) . Totally hope that doesn't sound like a boast .... More of a reassurance that it's perfectly do able. This time I'm taking all the pain relief!

Soooo .... Try not to focus on it too much, chances are baby will turn at last minute and if not, you can do it!

LaLaLaaaa · 12/01/2016 07:04

Hi grads! Good luck Gouda and nef!

Pop into just mumming to say hi when your wee ones arrive!

Jelly we are eagerly awaiting your arrival too!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 12/01/2016 08:03

Come ooooon babies! Pom poms at the ready...

pretz I am still feeling very raw about David Bowie too. It is hard to quantify his effect on our culture because it reaches so deep into the core of what exists today. He was so ahead of his time, brave, and brilliant.

ThursdayLastWeek · 12/01/2016 08:23

Goooooood morning Viroids, any babies, any babies, any babies?

Hope you're all ok.
I went out for dinner with my mum friends last night, it was a delight to actually talk to one another without being interrupted by the toddlers every 5 mins Smile

MiniThurs seems to be happy moving around in there again now, deffo less jabs and kicks - more like rolling and swooping.

I hate this countdown from 30 weeks. It goes so slooooowlyyyyyy.

lildottie · 12/01/2016 08:52

Morning viroids.
Just thinking our excitement over baby arrivals is almost like we're ready to kick the grads over to mumming :) lol but its all about the squishy baby pics!

Today I am going to make a decision about effing ante natal classes!

FeatheredTail · 12/01/2016 09:32

Pick NCT Lil, even if it's just so we can both slag it off if it turns out to be a crap choice Grin

Glad you had some nice calm chatting time with your Mum friends Thurs. I find it impossible to hold a convo with my sister when both her children are around!

Good friend of mine just recommended the mamas and papas zoom trip travel system. It's only £329!!!! What?!! Who would have thought such a miracle could be?! Opened my eyes to a whole world of less pricey options for carting around little feather.

FeatheredTail · 12/01/2016 09:33

*trio not trip

jellypi3 · 12/01/2016 09:41

gouda niff when are you both likely to be induced if your babies haven't arrived?

Nefertitts · 12/01/2016 10:19

Jelly we're not entertaining the option! I think Gouda said she was booked in for about a week's time. I'm going to try to wait until 42 weeks (possibly longer if everything's still ok and I can stand it...) as I've always thought the dates were out by about a week.

FeatheredTail · 12/01/2016 10:23

What are you now Niff? 40 weeks?

pretzelpieces · 12/01/2016 11:21

Don't forget me, la! She probably doesn't know I'm threatening to jump the queue with my cheeky jelly's due date induction. Grin

I think nct is really good if you're in a couple lil, as well as meeting people (although there's no guarantee you'll 'click' obviously). I'm off out to dinner with the nct ladies tonight. Really hoping they'll start liking me just cause I refuse to go away!

Did loads of cleaning and tidying yesterday and sorted a load more clothes I've been given, squee! Today I'm going to march up a hill to my textiles class. DP thinks I'm overdoing it. I say I'm nesting! All ready for mini pretzel and full term tomorrow. Come onnn baby!

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 12/01/2016 11:36

Pretzel - that's a relief - It would have been tragic if there had been NO CAKE. No social event for a pregnant woman should be bereft of cake. EVER.

jelly - if nothing happens beforehand then I will be induced on Monday which would be just under 42 weeks. I did some calculating yesterday using my revised scan dates from last time and I am 40+5 today. Literally no signs of anything happening whatsoever, aside from my new found ability to poo.

Niff cor, you're brave!!! Totes understand the desire to avoid an induction, but voluntarily staying pregnant?? You have the patience of a saint Grin Have you had any further twinges or owt? Weren't you ninja dilating? (3cm at yr last appointment)? Maybe you are already at 8cm or something and just totally chilling...

Thanks for all the reassurance about the positioning - I am still dubious about him turning, but will keep my fingers crossed. I tried talking to DH about it last night and burst into tears, lol.

I am super crazy pro epidural, BUT had hoped to avoid one if at all possible since my hospital's policy is to have a drip and cathetar in if you have an epidural. The last time I had to have a drip, it made me so hysterical they had to give me a sedative. This is also one of the major reasons I am so worried about the possibility of induction....

I just really wish that there was ANY alternative pain relief that didn't involve needles!

Sorry, very self involved rant there.

pretzelpieces · 12/01/2016 11:42

Aw gouda you've still got time to go into labour by yourself! GX for you.

Also Thursday you made me chuckle with your "any babies, any babies" comment. Haha!

jellypi3 · 12/01/2016 12:02

pret I'm certain you will beat me. Jelly baby is still only 1/5 engaged and I just don't feel like she will be coming any time soon. Thankfully they only let us go over 12 days until they suggest induction.

Had another mw appointment today to recheck BP and heartbeat. All was fine so that's reassured me. Next time I see mw will be 2 days before due date lol.

niff I applaud you! I'd just want out by that point! Gx baby comes before Monday gouda!

Nefertitts · 12/01/2016 12:07

I'm 40+4 feathered and I reckon that's out by a week. I've spent today waddling in an effort to get baby moving. I'm keen for her to just get the hell out now! She might still be tiny but she's too big to be in there!

Sorry about your fear of needles Gouda. I hadn't realised - all the blood tests and toxo screening must have been a nightmare. Still plenty of time for the minicheese to come out. I think I read the average 1st baby in the UK comes out at 40+10... Is there something they will give you in labour if you do want an epidural? They use some opioids in the uk which might chill you out a bit although pethidine is still an injection isn't it! Surely the French will give you something up the bottom, it's their usual method of administering anything!

And Kate congrats on the house! I missed that earlier, how exciting. You'll have to post us pics on the FB page, I loves a bit of house porn!!

honeysucklejasmine · 12/01/2016 12:30

My baby is clearly going to come bang in time, if not early. None of this "overdue" nonsense. [denial]

Lovely new fence is in progress at the moment. Smile Costing as much as our mortgage though...

CarrotPuff · 12/01/2016 12:57

Ouch ouch ouch. Getting very sharp fanny daggers, had to stop walking a few times. Anyone had this? I do get them occasionally but not that bad!

ThursdayLastWeek · 12/01/2016 13:00

Oh no carrot sounds spd-ish to me. I've had them sporadically, but don't know what to do about them sorry. Docs?

My baby actually is going to be early [smug]

OP posts:
SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 12/01/2016 14:04

I get the fanny daggers too. Is likely SPD or Pelvic Girdle Pain (so glam!). I am going to book a Thai Yoga Massage to try to limber myself up. My yoga class seems to help too but make sure you tell your instructor about the pains beforehand so you can avoid any postures that will make it worse.

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 12/01/2016 14:07

carrot - yes, would get that quite a bit - always assumed it was baby on a nerve or pressure from the head. Not sure about SPD, but agree might be worth speaking to the dr if it gets any worse :-( You could try eating lots of anti inflammation stuff but it might not help!

Thursday and honey - Grin Here's hoping that your lot come perfectly on time and at the most convenient moment!! (unlike my mate whose waters broke when she was in the middle of oxford street!)

Peenut · 12/01/2016 15:26

Hi Viroids,

Sorry fell off the thread over the weekend and I do apologise if I've missed anything ... I have returned to see that we are still full house! Any moment now for is it Gouda, Niff, Pretz and Jelly? Have I missed anyone? Fanjo flags poised for you all!

Lil I need to look at some antenatal classes too –hummm. I wanted to do Daisy Birthing but it's running miles away on the other side of town. Don't fancy traveling an hour to get there only to forget everything they tell me because I am knackered! There is an NCT class nearby but just weighing up whether to do that or the free doctors/hospital ones and some NCT groups post baby.

Feeling very second trimester today! Actually feel awake and like I may, possibly, for the first time in 14 weeks, go for a little run after work (while I still can). Hooray, long may it last! I give it until tomorrow.

Also ... talking about fanny daggers (ouch Carrot), did anyone else get a sort of tight lower abdomen when you stand up from sitting long periods of time around 14 weeks? Sort of like you are stretching muscles?

pretzelpieces · 12/01/2016 15:29

I'd managed to miss kate's exciting house news too! Congratulations kate!
