Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 43rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 42nd grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

I'm really surprised by that Honey, they have taken my 3rd degree tear very seriously at the hospital and have said I would need to see a consultant if pregnant again to discuss birth choices. (I presume if it heals well I can have another vaginally birth). I would also highly, highly recommend an episiotomy over a 3rd degree tear. (Sorry ladies, not trying to frighten you, only 5% of people get a 3rd degree tear, baby pud had a big head!)

honeysucklejasmine · 29/12/2015 20:40

Maybe! Seeing Midwife again on 6th Jan, and have a scan and consultant appointment on 29th so hopefully of I start really kicking off now I might get taken seriously!

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 29/12/2015 21:49

I don't think it would be a good idea to wait for a CS to be offered. If it is something that you would want, then you may need to start pushing for it very strongly sooner rather than later. A hospital's policy towards allowing a woman to choose her own birth method seems to vary wildly from place to place, so it could be an easy win, or it could take a lot of struggling.

I would be very Hmm about relaxin preventing scar tissue from tearing, but then again I'm not medically qualified.

Relaxin is a hormone which affects your joints, etc - not your actual SKIN - otherwise none of us would ever get stretch marks when the belly shrinks back down after birth!!!!

But really all that obviously depends on how strongly you feel about the CS.

lildottie · 29/12/2015 22:37

There's a new date cone up near me for Daisy classes starting 24th feb when i'll be 24+1. Is that too early? It's a 6week course. I don't want to do it too early and forget it all but also don't want to leave it too late and not have time to practice what I learn. there's 7 weeks between the January start date and the February start date so I guess I'd be 31weeks when the next one would start

honeysucklejasmine · 30/12/2015 07:50

Last time I mentioned it they asked if I wanted to see the midwife who specialises in anxiety relating to birth. Hmm I have a degree in medical biochemistry so I find it quite annoying when people attempt to fob me off with "science will fix it". Show me the peer reviewed article or study on the effects of relaxin which prove what they say, and I will start to believe them. I am not anxious, I don't have vaginismus, I have an actual physical issue that no amount of talking about will cure, because it is not linked to my mind at all! Gragh!!!!

/rant

I wondered if I did have vaginismus at one point after my wedding, but when I mentioned it to my mum, she was not shocked and sent me lots of articles about endometriosis and pain. Evidently she had anticipated it and done research. When I mentioned it to my consultant he was also unsurprised and drew me a diagram to show the location of the scar tissue he had observed. (He drew a uterus and vagina, then scribbled over the bottom half.)

Lil I did Daisy ages ago and I still remember it clearly. Mostly because I am a cynical bitch who thought it was all faintly ridiculous though, so it stuck in my mind. Blush I do think some of it will be useful though.

jellypi3 · 30/12/2015 08:45

I really hope you get it sorted honey it sounds so stressful!

lil I never did daisy but quite a few did it early iirc. My NCT started when I was 30 weeks.

CountryGal4 · 30/12/2015 09:09

Pssssh honey I have the exact same problem with my consultant! Sometimes it's worrying how pig headed they are

ThursdayLastWeek · 30/12/2015 09:19

Morning all
Honey you sound so clued up, surely you can batter them with info until they at least have a proper discussion with you? I agree with jelly it sounds ever so stressful.

lil I know bugger all about Daisy Birthing, but id think that from 31 weeks would be perfect timing.

I have a MW appt today, at 30 weeks. Looking at my notes, I thought the 31 week appt was for first time mothers only, but hey ho I'm not complaining about an extra checkup. I also saw that my notes say I have had a blood transfusion - I have Confused. I sometimes wonder if that woman listened to me at booking in at all.

All in all it makes me glad I have my birth plan all sorted without needing her help.

Peenut · 30/12/2015 11:32

Hope you get it sorted Honey. You know your body and need to have in place measures that will allow you not to be freaking out about the already terrifying birthing process! It's so frustrating when you get the 'I've heard this 15 times today' look from medical professionals. BAH!

I was thinking about Daisy too Lil –I like that it looks like a yoga class with other birthing info thrown in. We are due a similar sort of time I think. I think go with what suits you –perhaps they offer top up classes as a refresher before birth if you do it early? (Not sure though!)

I keep having awful thoughts about our scan on Monday. I have a stupid fear grounded in actual 0% fact that something will be wrong. Can I confess to thinking that because nobody I know has ever had horrid news at a 12 week scan that I think by the law of averages and scary stats for over 35s that it's going to be me?

Somebody hooyah me and maybe get me to sniff some strong brandy smelling leftover Christmas cake or something.

Oh and my baps are turning massive (or massive for me) and I defo need some sort of new bra ... when I take off my existing bras my boobs are wedged in them! I'm also putting off buying new boob holder until Monday. Or I was but I am pain so think I need to throw caution to the wind and go and buy something non sexy but highly supportive to contain the bulging bosom, I keep finding them squashed painfully in my arm pits when I wake up.

jellypi3 · 30/12/2015 11:39

Hooyah pee, you will be fine. We all get scanxiety. Missed miscarriages are extremely rare. Try not to think of that sort of thing. Pregnancy is an extremely trying time for our nerves. Try to enjoy it.

My cold is in full swing today. I'm actually going to kill DP.

Peenut · 30/12/2015 11:42

I know, being a crazee silly person. Just need to distract myself I think.

Cake, might eat more cake/cheese/chocolate.

Cold in pregnancy must be naff –hope you feel better soon and DH brings honey and lemon.

ThursdayLastWeek · 30/12/2015 12:26

Don't worry pee, your crazy calculations are totally normal, IME anyway Grin.

I was quite convinced that this pregnancy wouldn't stick because I've never had a pregnancy scare, conceived DS exactly when we wanted with no problems, and conceived this one in the exact same time frame. After a friends recent bad news, I still shan't be counting any chickens until this baby is well and in my arms.

The illogicality of it is what makes it so hard to deal with I think.

MW appt was totally fine. GTT was well normal, BP fine, baby growing well, HB strong and easy to find.
DS loved watching the MW take my BP and some blood, and listened to the HB, was really cute the way he said 'we're gonna check the baby' Smile

Hello shaggers, or ex shaggers, it's me niff. With a slightly different name. I thought it was time for a refresh. Just place marking until I've caught up on the last few pages of Fred. I might need a few naps so this could take a while...

5hell · 30/12/2015 12:37

How are u feeling today sky?
Sympathies to u too jel ...I asked the pharmacist in Boots today if there was anything I could have for my cough - she said no, then I found myself some linctus on the shelf Hmm I mean I know it's not going to cure me but at least it might be soothing sigh

The Christmas miracle is that I have not peed myself, despite coughing night and day ...small wins Xmas Wink

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 30/12/2015 12:52

Sorry to those with colds - it truly can be AWFUL.

If it helps at all, I found endless mugs of hot water and lemon to really help with sore throats, and when it gets really bad, a paracetamol.

A nice hot (but not too hot obviously) bath can do wonders for a shitty stuffed up head as well.

I hope you feel better soon!

jellypi3 · 30/12/2015 13:02

I'm already dosed up to the max on paracetamol and honey and lemon. Going to have a bath tonight. Being bunged up is horrible!!

I've started getting groin pain the past few days, my nan thinks it's baby moving down pressing on a nerve. It's akin to pulling a groin muscle.

Nefertitts · 30/12/2015 13:09

Corgi so sorry to read your bad news, if you are still popping in. Take time to get over it, don't rush back to work, and let yourself be spoiled rotten ThanksThanks

Lil I did daisy from about 18-24 weeks. I still remember some but ideally I think I'd have done it later - I just had to time it to fit it in before I left the UK. They don't seem to give you any notes or anything to remind you outside of class what you're taught which I thought was a bit cheap considering it's not cheap. That said, I found that as well as the birth info It works quite well as an exercise class though, and quite a few of the women at mine had done more than one 6 week session.

Disco hoorah for a good scan! And pee yours will mostly likely be fine, but everyone gets scanxiety nonetheless. Just try not to think about it as there really is nothing you can do! Jelly sorry you have a cold, that's mega miserable when v preggers!

Honey i agree with Gouda and others! Make a fuss make a fuss make a fuss until they take you seriously. I'd be soo annoyed if they tried to fob me off with anxiety help when it was a physical thing! (And meanwhile people who have anxiety aren't getting the right kind of help, grr!). It does sound like maybe exploring a CS might be worthwhile? Are you having stretchy pains as you expand, or is the scarring further down in the vag? I know nothing about endo but it sounds awful...

Gouda how are you doing? We're up next! I feel like I am actually about to explode and my bump aches, just aches. And microniff is a pretty tiny baby compared to the size of me... It could possibly also be that I ate too much lunch Blush. Had an antenatal appt yesterday and she's headed in the right direction but doctor doesn't expect her before the due date (a week on Friday). I JUST WANT THIS BABY OUT! I did have a lovely massage yesterday and am going to book another for next week to involve serious acupressure eviction techniques. In the meantime, a more naps.

CarrotPuff · 30/12/2015 13:10

honey sorry you feel being fobbed off. are you planning on getting an epi-no? Maybe that will give you an indication of how stretchy your insides are?

pee I'd take your increased boobage as a good sign Xmas Wink Stop torturing yourself and get that bra!

Hi Niff! I want a nap too...

Sorry to hear you're poorly jelly and 5hell. Colds when pg are the worst. Lots of hot lemon and honey for you Brew

My pelvic floor was really put to the test this morning. I was walking down to get a train, needing a pee (only been 10 mins before that before leaving house, grrr) when baby started going mad. Not sure how I didn't wet myself!

My pelvis is really unhappy these days Sad Is it really bad that I'm looking forward to birth not so much to meet the baby, but to put an end to spd? Confused

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 30/12/2015 15:06

Niff - I know, I can't believe how quickly it's come round to our turn!! Shock Sorry to hear that you're feeling so uncomfortable Sad I know what you mean about the aching bump. God they are so HEAVY aren't they!!! Mine just feels hard and tight and uncomfortable.

I am doing okay thanks, although I noticed today that I am JUST beginning to get the start of a couple of long stretch marks which I am decidedly unimpressed with, having managed to avoid any for the last 39 weeks. Also seem to be going from constantly sleepy and wanting to hibernate, to being nearly constantly on edge and irritable. You???

Do you have an estimated birth weight for mini niff??

jellypi3 · 30/12/2015 15:29

Aww thanks for the cold sympathies ladies, at least it's just a cold and nothing worse. I just wish I could take lemsip to end the suffering lol.

carrot I know what you mean, I really want to meet jelly baby but am also looking forward to no more pelvic / hip / groin pain.

niff I can't believe your due date is so soon. It's flown by! Jelly baby is fully baked a week tomorrow, it's scary how quick the last few weeks goes!

KateBeckett · 30/12/2015 16:29

I'm a terrible viroid! Keep lurking and falling off the thread... Blush

honey definitely make a fuss! I can't believe they tried to fob you off with 'anxiety' for an actual medical issue. That makes me a bit cross actually. I hope you manage to get them to take you seriously next time you speak to them.

pee ahhh scanxiety. You know how I was feeling before I had my scan... I was convinced we were going to get bad news, and it was actually the most amazing thing! I'd say try not to worry, but that's not easy I know. Can't wait to see the scan pic though!

Any recommendations on preggo pillows viroids? I'm getting serious bloat and have a lil bump already and it's getting difficult to get comfy... But there are so many different types of pillow I don't know where to start!!

lil I'm looking at daisy too. There is one quite close to me but not sure when would be the best time to do it! It's definitely too early for me yet though.

honeysucklejasmine · 30/12/2015 17:09

I have a dream genii but hardly use it.

jellypi3 · 30/12/2015 17:21

I also forked out for a dream genii but it doesn't get used now. I just use a normal pillow between legs

lildottie · 30/12/2015 18:11

Also struggling with a cold and sore throat since boxing day here. Am surviving on halls soothers and the occasional paracetamol :(

kate I emailed to see if I could get info on when to start and they have replied saying most women start between 24-30 weeks depending if they want to do one or 2 runs of the course. ties in with what niff says about people doing it twice. Mine has said next date will be April (I'm assuming mid April from previous date gaps) so I'd be 31 weeks. I think I'll see if i can find out when the standard ante natal courses are if i can at MW tomorrow and decide from there.

pee scanxiety total normal. I was convinced there would be nothing at both 8wk and 12wk scan and am now convinced there its no longer alive at 16wks. I'm going to be a nervous wreck by 30weeks!
