Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 43rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 42nd grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 56th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

Sorry you're poorly Sky, hope it passes soon.

Erm... Jelly I'm not sure how bump size is relevant to wiping your bum - I just do it from behind?

honeysucklejasmine · 28/12/2015 22:08

With you Jelly. I can't really reach from behind but at the moment I am still able to wipe as normal. Maybe try yoga? Wink

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 28/12/2015 22:13

jelly No, 'fraid not, but maybe I just have giant monkey arms.

I really struggle to do the wee tests though at the doctors. How the fuck are you meant to wee on a stick/into a pot when you CAN'T SEE ANYTHING?

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 28/12/2015 22:20

Thanks for the well wishes viroids. To be fair DP does the lions share of the housework and cooking and is excelkent with the DCs. I have just had a difficult pregnancy with lots of fatigue but because I am normally full of energy and like being super active I am constantly pushing myself too hard the minute I feel well...

Will post my narwhal costume to the FB group when I get some photos on the night. Can't look at myself without laughing and the children are VERY impressed by it... Xmas Grin

pretzelpieces · 28/12/2015 22:49

Cannot wait to see the narwhal costume sky and get well soon!

jelly I can still just about reach from behind but twisting to do it is not comfortable. Short arms and iron poos are a bad combo!

Also totally agree with gouda that peeing into tiny pots when you haven't even seen your foof without the aid of a mirror in months is a cruel joke. They should give us a big jug to collect it in!

thurs Grin got all them swamp boobs to look forward to!

CarrotPuff · 28/12/2015 22:54

I take a measuring jug thingy from liquid detergent when I have MW appt. Wee in that, pour into the probe and hey presto! No wee on hands Xmas Grin or a plastic cup if your surgery has water machine (or whatever it's called)

jellypi3 · 28/12/2015 23:01

Haha glad it's not just me. Reaching front and back is a struggle, I just don't think I bend that way haha.

Agree on pissy pots too, most ridiculous things ever.

Can't wait for narwhale costume pics!

honeysucklejasmine · 28/12/2015 23:40

I keep fresh pots at home and pee in a ROC from my JSing days, before decanting in to tiny bottle.

In triage, where they get you to do one sometimes, they have funnels that slot in the top of the sample bottle.

Hobbit19 · 29/12/2015 05:39

Hi all, thanks for all the love! Ha ha it's funny that you knew I was having a baby because the Fred was quiet! Little one is amazing. Glad to hear that you all sound okay. I am amazed by how much your body reverts back to normal immediately after birth; no itchy stomach, no sore back, I can do actual normal sized wees etc!! Just a bit sore from the birth bit but looking forward to being back to normal. Take it easy ladies, looking forward to more new babies soon!

5hell · 29/12/2015 06:22

Sooooooo many congrats pud !!!!!!
You sound on top of the world! Grin

Pregsomnia kicking my are today, not helped by cough, sinusitis and sore throat :( I am rocking this inter-xmas/new year period!! Hmm

Saw some friends who have a 1+ yr old yesterday who slightly overwhelmed us by doing a total brain dump plus baby sizzle dump on us...v grateful for all the stuff, but we literally barely got a word in edgeways n they spoke of nothing but baby!

...now have 4 slings!!!

honeysucklejasmine · 29/12/2015 08:15

Sounds great Pud, well done! Does Christmas Pud have a name yet?

5hell that sounds a bit overwhelming!

Going to attempt to do my taxes today. I am most concerned about being able to log on to the online system. Yikes.

5hell · 29/12/2015 09:48

Eugh. ..taxes honey!? That sounds worse than sinusitis!

It was a bit overwhelming tbh, we left all the stuff in the car overnight as couldn't face bringing it in!!

honeysucklejasmine · 29/12/2015 10:07

Lol self assessment tax return. Very scary!

TriJo · 29/12/2015 14:00

Fecking storm... staying an extra night in Limerick because our flight out of Shannon just got cancelled. Crossing my fingers that my winter coat does a good job of bump-minimising tomorrow because of course my fit-to-fly letter is dated up to today...

Discofairypants · 29/12/2015 15:23

20 week scan went well today! Team yellow!

justtheonethen · 29/12/2015 15:39

Popping on to congratulate pud! Hurrah well done you Thanks

jellypi3 · 29/12/2015 16:17

Very tired today. Had quite a few BH'S as well, feels weird lol

honeysucklejasmine · 29/12/2015 17:07

Eugh! How annoying Tri! Hope you get home alright.

Yay Disco! Welcome to team yellow! Any pictures?

honeysucklejasmine · 29/12/2015 17:14

Jelly is it weird I am looking forward to BH? Just can't imagine what it will feel like.

Had a chat with my mother re birth plans. I have remained unconvinced that the huge amount of internal scar tissue I have will stretch easily. Based on shag this morning, the relaxin hormone has had no effect so far. Mum, who knows my medical history v well, also agrees it is unlikely. (The scale of the 15+ years of scarring is staggering) So I think I am leaving towards requesting an epidural straight away. Contractions aren't my worry. The incredible pain of crowning is what I'd like to avoid. I'm probably going to tear badly too so I would like to avoid feeling that.

What do you reckon are my chances? Will they try to fob me off? I feel like I want to get pictures of my scarred innards and flash them round, but it was with a different trust so they aren't easy for midwives to access.

ThursdayLastWeek · 29/12/2015 17:30

Hurrah for happy scan Disco and boo for stormy weather Tri.

honey I understand your worries (sort of abstractly, not based on experience). I'm really not sure, but there's certainly no harm in pressing your case with your MW and getting it on your birth pref. IME, not a lot of first labours go so fast that they won't be able to get an epidural in before you get to the crowning stage, so I reckon you'd be alright but I TOTALLY understand that that is a scary risk you'd be unwilling to take.
I vote just keep fucking going on about it, until they take you seriously.

We've had a v lazy day today, baby giving me a thorough kicking as is its wont.

jellypi3 · 29/12/2015 17:53

I can't see why they wouldn't give you an epidural honey. Especially as it has to be given before the pushing stage doesn't it?

Also I'd talk to your mw about an episiotomy. Might be you can make them.aware of your scarring so they are more ready to do an episiotomy instead of you tearing.

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 29/12/2015 18:24

honey - I think it depends on what you mean by straight away. Over here they refuse to give epidurals until labour is established - so after you are three cm dilated. But after that it's fair game, bearing in mind the time it takes for the drugs man to get to you and get it all set up, and for the drugs to actually kick in (15-20 minutes). They say to allow 45 minutes between asking for one and the sweet sweet relief of drugs....

I think it would definitely be worth it making your wish for an epidural as soon as physically possible known well in advance, and put into your notes. It would also be well worth stressing the reasons behind it, since often they will want the dosage turned down when you get to the pushing stage so you can push through the contractions. You'll need to find a balance between that, and wanting to avoid the pain.

If your scarring is that bad, are there reasons why you would not consider a CS? Just pure curiosity on my part!

honeysucklejasmine · 29/12/2015 18:51

Yeah I know that it can take a while for the anaesthetist to get to you, so don't want to risk a "sorry, too late" scenario. Basically I want to go in, say "when it gets to it, I want an epidural" and have them organise the anaesthetist there and then.

I have mentioned it (the scarring) at almost every appointment, midwife and consultant, and they are all insisting that the relaxin hormone will allow the tissue to stretch.

honeysucklejasmine · 29/12/2015 18:52

I am not against a C section. But it's not been offered. although we haven't talked birth plans yet

lildottie · 29/12/2015 19:18

Sounds like you need to get those pictures honey. Surely you can pay for copies of your medical records from other hospital? My SIL got an early epidural due to her lupus, can you play that card? She didn't get the elcs she wanted with no 1 and ended up with emcs (her family have a history of small pelvis issues too) and had elcs booked for no2 (but went into labour day before booked in!)
