Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

They seem to move but are mostly focused on my pelvis and to the left, had a bit of lower back ache too. Mostly a pulling sensation.

Think I just need to take it a bit easy, had a busy weekend, having a luke warm bath now and then will be popping my pjs on and lying on the sofa till bed!

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 21:08

I've got the same cramps. It really is normal and just your body adjusting. I'm scared of something going wrong too but like you said, there's nothing we can do so I refuse to worry.

If my bloat keeps up though I'm going to have to tell work earlier than planned as I'm going to be the size of a house!!!!

shelbTa · 20/12/2015 21:11

Mine are there too blue try not to worry. Apart from being healthy and looking after ourselves it's out of our hands.....doesn't stop us worrying though....I'm still poas'ing every day.

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 21:26

Shelb I've just used my last FRER. Line is now just about the same as the control line so I'm not going to POAS again... With the exception of the other dating one that I think I'll do at the end of next week Smile

Morning ladies, how are you feeling today?

I've woken up feeling full of cold and so bloated I look like I'm in my second trimester Hmm

Still dr's appointment this week and I'm hoping the January booking in appointments are on the system so that I can get that booked.

Are you all off this week or still working. I'm still working but have so much to do!!!

OP posts:
BlueGirl1982 · 21/12/2015 07:47

Morning!

I had cramp in one leg most of the night which was pleasant....

Did my other clear blue this morning (although I'd told myself I was saving it till the end of the week!) Think I may have to order some more to get me through the first week or so Confused

No bloating here yet, just some cramps still and a bit of wind Blush Woke up starving too!

BlueGirl1982 · 21/12/2015 07:48

P.s. I'm also working this week and I still have tons to do Confused Christmas lunch for 8 not seeming like such a hot idea now!

shelbTa · 21/12/2015 07:53

Morning ladies!

Runner sorry to hear your feeling coldy, I am too - like a really stuffy nose etc? I haven't got the bloating quite that bad but I am going to ask the dr if it's safe to give some laxatives a go - if it is I'll let you know the brand if you like. We are only a few days apart aren't we! Smile

Blue I'm still testing ever day too on ic - still only got a relatively faint line on them though!

Yeh I'm working until the bitter end!

X

Runner05 · 21/12/2015 08:19

Morning,

Yep, I'm stuck working too. I've only got 3 for Christmas lunch but I need to make 3 deserts for the Boxing Day family lunch thing.

Shelb let me know what the dr says. Sounds like we both have the same type of cold, sore throat, snuffy nose and that annoying itchy ear thing.

Blue I'm sure the bloat will be with you shortly Wink
I've finally stopped testing every day now. But I do have a CB dating test left that I'm saving for next week.

I really did think id be more mental once pregnant especially as I do seem to usually react badly to hormones but it's had the opposite effect.
Now that I'm pregnant I've chilled right out. I suppose it's because now I feel in control. It was not knowing if and when I'd get pregnant that gave me the crazies. Now I know that the pregnancy (assuming it progresses healthily) will continue on a pre determined timescale. I like this

Hmm sat at my desk I have quite a bit of pressure in my tum, above my public bone, anyone else feel that?

X

Runner05 · 21/12/2015 10:06

What do you mean pressure? I constantly feel pressure all around my tummy but I assume it's the bloat and things moving/stretching.

Have any of you thought about post natal depression? I was chatting to my mum about it. She had it will all of her children but I think I'm less likely to get it because I have realistic expectations. I don't expect birth to be magical, and having a new baby to be a wonderful experience. I expect birth to be painful and when the baby is born I expect to be tired and cross and not particularly fussed about the wriggling screaming thing they hand me (plenty of time for that after a couple of hours of sleep!). I also expect to spend the first couple of months tired, confused and cross because I want to sleep and not think about anything.

I think most most people get post natal depression because they expect to immediately bond with this amazing creature and be a natural parent. Then when they don't bond straight away and don't know what their doing and have this screeching poop make reminding them that they don't know what they're doing 24/7 they freak outa bit... But that's just my opinion Hmm

BlueGirl1982 · 21/12/2015 10:18

Shelb my jeans and trousers have already felt as though they are pressing uncomfortably on my stomach although I'm sure it's 90% in my mind! Cramps seem to have eased today, there's just a light pulling on the right (and a fair bit of white discharge...sorry for tmi!)

This morning (like most mornings) I sprinted for the train and then felt instantly guilty! Have also been reading too much and worrying myself...need to stop thinking/reading and just breathe!

Have any of you started to think about whether you'd like baby to be a boy or a girl? Will you find out?

shelbTa · 21/12/2015 11:30

It's like like pain/pressure when you are absolutely busting for a wee, right above my pubic bone. I'm sure it's normal, I'll feel better once I've seen the gp though.

I do have a lot of worries about post birth, a little bit about depression, totally natural though. Some of my friend have had it, and also didn't bond, so I think it can be linked. It's all chemical though so can be sorted out.

Is anyone else feeling really really excited?!!! I'm trying to hold it in and remember it's such early days.

X

BlueGirl1982 · 21/12/2015 11:35

I've had the bursting for a wee kidney type pain/pressure!

As much as I'm fretting, I am also really giddy and excited...finding it impossible to concentrate on work today and really keen to tell the girls at work but then I remind myself that I'm barely 5 weeks and I need to chill out...

Runner05 · 21/12/2015 13:10

Yep, I have that kind of pressure on and off too.

I just told my boss. She'd been so lovely over the past 4 months about the problems with my mum and she knew I was trying so I thought what the hell. She was absolutely extra ticket about it, jumping up and down and clapping. I nearly ended up crying she was so nice about it. I'm also really lucky to work in a company where they have a really good maternity and work life ethic.

Really excited now I've actually told someone Grin

OP posts:
Runner05 · 21/12/2015 13:11

Ecstatic not extra ticket Hmm

OP posts:
Newmrs22 · 21/12/2015 13:52

Ahh Runner your boss sounds amazing. I am not expecting a happy reaction from mine!

I have cramping today (although not that bad) When will this end?! And why does no one mention it before you get pregnant. I think it would have been nice to be prepared.

We told the in laws at the weekend. They are very excited. Feels a bit more real now. I'm hoping to hear from the midwife in the next day or two. I want my booking appointment in the diary!

shelbTa · 21/12/2015 16:08

Ah that's really nice that you have that kind of work culture runner, my news is not going to go down well where I work!

Aww I can't wait to tell my inlaws new, did you do it face to face?

Apart from a few twinges I don't really feel pregnant today, very strange! Do you guys get days like that? Apparently week four is a bit non descript though - I'll be moaning again when the morning sickness kicks in!

X

BlueGirl1982 · 21/12/2015 16:45

You're not alone Shelb I've been having a cramp free day mostly until now...also burping (nice) and felt a bit queasy this afternoon...super dry mouth again now though!

We're telling oh's parents on Christmas Eve, I know they'll be delighted. I'm planning to tell my parents tomorrow...hoping they'll be happy too but I'm not 100%...they really like my oh, no issues there, but I think they may be disappointed we aren't married and have no plans to be before baby.

Work will be fine I think, although the mat leave is rubbish so I don't think I'll be taking as much as I'd like Sad

Pinklily1 · 21/12/2015 17:43

Hi ladies, thought I would venture over here! So a recap on stats:

Age - 32
3 +1 weeks (I think, based on Ovia)
EDD - 02.09.16

Symptoms are ridiculous bloating (feels like I the worlds biggest fart), AF type cramps, hot and dizzy spells and nausea. Boobs haven't changed yet though, I'm sure they will!

How is everyone feeling now?

Runner05 · 21/12/2015 17:59

Yay Pink welcome to fart central.

I'm afraid the bloating appears to be a symptom that is here to stay. I've already had to buy clothes a size bigger to accommodate how bloated my stomach is.

Really tired today and the peeing has reached new levels. Hmm

Newmrs22 · 21/12/2015 18:56

I've got a UTI! Sad this is not what I need right now. Usually I go and get antibiotics because they get quite bad, but I'm a bit worried about taking anything this early on.

Might have to venture to the doctors again Angry

Runner05 · 21/12/2015 19:01

Oh dear New that sucks!

Get ye to the doctor girl x

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 21/12/2015 19:36

Get to the doctor New, hopefully there is something they can give you!

Have you all got your booking appointments now? Hoping to go to the doctors for initial visit before christmas.

BlueGirl1982 · 21/12/2015 19:39

I picked up my pregnancy pack from the gp today, will be ringing the midwife booking line tomorrow. Some of the info in my pack is very dated, dietary advice saying have lots of starchy foods, no nuts, fats are bad!

Definitely get to the doctor new, think utis can be fairly common so there's probably stuff they can give you
