Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

Eek Shelb I'm so excited for you. Let us know how it goes. I'm 6+1 so it's bang on time to arrive. Feeling fine now though just starving and have back/tail ache
Is anyone else hormonal yet? I'm mostly okay but the day I received my notes in the post I burst into tears and throughout the day there is lots of moments where I could burst into tears, but manage to hold it together.

Runner05 · 19/12/2015 10:11

Hope the sickness stays away Bunch!

I haven't been very hormonal yet, apart from that argument with my friends who still haven't bothered replying

Exciting Shelb, kick him up the bum to wake him up then let us know how it went.

New I'm totally with you on the insomnia. I was shattered last night but couldn't sleep for toffee!

My pregnancy test was darker this morning Grin and I did a CB dating one which said 1-2 weeks Smile
I'm out today looking for some bigger jeans though I'm not quite as bloated today.

OP posts:
shelbTa · 19/12/2015 10:23

Well I told him - he's so pleased, but said 'I'd prefer the line to be a bit darker (it's ridiculously dark by our standards) and then asked if we can reuse the test tomorrow to double check! Ha!

The insomnia is weird isn't it, going to sound awful but glad I'm not alone in it....

Xx

shelbTa · 19/12/2015 10:42

Ladies are any of your tummys actually tender to the touch? Mine is on my left hand side near my hip, can't rest anything on it like a laptop for example. Normal??

X

BunchOfBobs · 19/12/2015 11:13

Not any tenderness here Shelb but might be worth phoning the GP just to be safe. Glad to hear how happy he is but get a digi test like Runner and I did. It's really hard to argue with "pregnant".
Runner remember they're not "friends" if they're treating you that way. You have your very own best friend growing inside you. You don't need them!

Runner05 · 19/12/2015 11:32

Shelb mine was exactly the same. He couldn't bring himself to believe a line but the moment I handed him a test with the word "Pregnant" on it, he was sold. They are expensive but it's worth it.

No tenderness here I do keep getting a blotchy rash though. As if I'm having a mild allergic reaction to something. I will add it to my list of questions for the dr.

Bunch you are definitely right about my friends. They know what I've been though the past few months and I've always been willing to drop absolutely everything to support them when they've had problems, I've always known they weren't the same as we went through a rocky patch 2 years ago when I was going though something and my best friend actually told me that she couldn't listen to my problems any more because it was stressing her out Hmm

Did another test today. Nicely darker Grinand a dating CB which said 1-2 weeks. So excited!
I did have to buy some trousers a size up though because I just can't cope with my normal size at the moment. That was not so good and a little depressing to look in the mirror and see how puffed up I am Blush

shelbTa · 19/12/2015 12:15

Ah runner that sounds hard with your friends, and it's so upsetting when you fall out with your mates. Hang in there. I'm hoping antenatal classes will be good to meet new people as although a lot of my friends now have babies they are all over the country. The others close by still like to party!

Hoping the pain is trapped wind or something. What will be will be. I'm at the doctors this week, will mention it. Think I'm going to buy a nutrition pregnancy book today Grin.

Runner, new - have you told anyone yet aside from Oh?

X

Runner05 · 19/12/2015 12:30

Shelb I'm hoping classes will be good for meeting people too... Some people say that's the only reason to go to them lol.

I'm sure the pain is just trapped wind. It's not like we aren't all puffed up like floatation devices!!!
I told my line manager at work (in strict confidence) they really do have brilliant maternity and work/live ethics where I work so I didn't worry about doing that at all. But OH has vetoed telling anyone else yet.

We were talking about what we're going to do about childcare today. The upshot is that we've decided to reduce our house buying budget and I will go back to work part time while growing the web design business.
Hopefully this will work out but it means I'll need to get my bum in gear and get programming.

I told my mum today! She was very excited. I had to make her promise not to tell anyone. I also accidentally told a friend last week Blush DH doesn't know I told her.
I think we might tell the in laws later. It all seems much more real now!

Are you going to tell anyone shelb?

Runner05 · 19/12/2015 16:16

I think I need to decorate the bathroom if I'm going to spend this amount of time in it! Hmm

How are you ladies this afternoon?

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 19/12/2015 16:25

Oh my the trapped wind is hurting! And then trying to sneak some out when they're wanting to be free in a room with 4 other blokes is proving interesting! Headaches have started too and my back is still killing. I wanted to go the gym before bed but with wind like this I daren't!!

Runner05 · 19/12/2015 16:53

Bunch I'm so sorry but I can't stop giggling. I have an image of you jogging on a treadmill and farting every time your foot hits the floor ShockWinkGrin

OP posts:
shelbTa · 19/12/2015 17:09

Oh dear bunch and runner! Bunch What are you doing at the gym at the moment? I'm trying to work out what you can and can't do at this early stage - is running ok? I'm avoiding sit-ups because of some crazy shit I've read about stomach muscles pulling apart?!

I told my mum today, it was brilliant, no one else though until after 12 weeks. Got a digi test for tomorrow!

I need something bad to eat tonight!

X

BunchOfBobs · 19/12/2015 17:35

Hahah Runner me too and that's why I'm not there!! Hmm

Shelb I'm exercising completely as normal but lowered my weights. This includes ab exercises. Until you start showing its fine. Ab splits do happen but not this early. Apparently it's important to exercise the core so I'm planking daily. Running is fine if you ran before. If not its not the best time to start. Personally I hate running but I use the cross trainer for cardio. Midwife told me just to listen to my body, it'll tell me when to slow down.

BunchOfBobs · 19/12/2015 17:49

Anyone fancy comparing bloat photos? I'm feeling enormous tonight and it hurts!

shelbTa · 19/12/2015 18:14

Bloody hell bunch that's incredible! Is that all bloating or bump? Looking trim though, I need to do some exercise!

BlueGirl1982 · 19/12/2015 18:30

Hi ladies...

Thought I best pop over to the grads thread!!

Re run on stats too...

34
4 weeks and 3 days (from last AF, is this right??)
Scared to death!!

BunchOfBobs · 19/12/2015 18:30

Shelb I'm firmly of the opinion it's all bloat. It's so uncomfortable. I don't even wake up deflated completely. It gets worse after eating, i'm pretty much mainlining peppermint to to help it but nothing is shifting it yet. Thanks re trimmness- that's all about to feck off hah!

BunchOfBobs · 19/12/2015 18:31

Yay hi blue. Congrats again. Exactly. I just go off what Ovia says and that's when it's dated from.

shelbTa · 19/12/2015 19:07

Blue I'm scared to death too!!! My mum said some wise words though - basically just try and relax, apart from looking after yourself it's out of your hands. Holy shit I'm going to hopefully be one of those mum people omg omg what am I doing!!!!

Just put a curry in the oven, that should help with the bloating and wind, not.

X

Runner05 · 19/12/2015 20:06

bunch this bloat is a bastard. I can barely get the zip up on my jeans now and have resorted to leggings Blush if this continues everyone is either going to know I'm upduffed or think I've been a complete pig this Christmas. won't post a picture because I was a size 16 to begin with so no one needs to see that!!!

Yay! Blue you have made it to the mystic land of burps, farts and bloat. It's fun, honest.

I think I'm a bit weird, I'm not actually freaked out or scared yet I've got 9 months to work out this parenting thing and OH has don't it twice and both children are still alive so how difficult can it be?! famous last words

We were sat around tonight working out cost of living after baby is born and we think we could subsist on OH wages so I will be going back to work part time Smile really happy about this as I was worried that I would be effectively handing over the raising of my child to someone else. Very excited.

Has anyone else started making a shopping list? I found a really good deal on a Tommy tippy bottle set on Amazon including a steam cleaner, bottle, bottle warmer and worm bags for £50 down from £150!! I think OH would freak if I started buying that sort of thing already though Hmm

OP posts:
BlueGirl1982 · 20/12/2015 01:58

Well I survived Christmas party with friends on winter spice Ribena, opted for the 'ibs' no caffeine or alcohol excuse, blamed not wanting to be rough for Christmas...think all bar one friend bought it!

Have back ache though, and still the 'wet' feeling, plus the occasional dizzy spell!

Runner I'm with you, my jeans already feel uncomfortable...I will be in maternity jeans by Boxing Day at this rate!

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 02:54

Lol Blue I'm glad the party went well and you managed to pull off the IBS thing. Do you think the one woman who was skeptical thought you were pregnant?

I feel your pain regarding clothes. I am seriously considering looking at maternity wear already. Boobs haven't gone mad yet though so I'm hoping that I maybe only gain one size. That would be awesome!

So I'm just laying here, awake after particularly painful trapped wind woke me up and now I can't find a comfy position. This is so glamorous! Hmm

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 03:01

This is going to make me sound like a right alcoholic but oh was getting out a beer earlier and noticed I had a couple of bottles of nice cider so after pointing out I couldn't drink it he poured it for himself and I'm stood right next to him staring at it as if I'm dying of thirst and asking if I could sniff it!!!
There's nothing that says pregnant women can't sniff cider is there?! Hmm

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 20/12/2015 06:51

I've had a shopping list since October haha. I've names this a thrifty baby and plan to have everything second hand apart from mattress and car seat. I've already got 3 slings from that time I went a little crazy on eBay. I don't plan on buying any bottles as I wan to breast feed. I'm not getting a pram as only want to use a sling. Where I live a pram would be a hindrance not a help. I'm going to use washable nappies and wipes and get the co sleeper crib from eBay. Clothes I'm being given all from my SILs 3 boys, there's a lot of white so fine if we have a girl and who says blue is for boys only?! Other things will be gifted. I think that's all my thought process for now.
