Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

I'm going to do a test tomorrow morning and then we will look at it together. It means a huge huge amount to him so want that line to be SOLID before he knows.

That's lovely Shelb! You're feeling nauseous as well? Great isn't it! Envy

Bunch The time is dragging.....I'm actually looking forward to getting through Christmas (and trotting out the IBS excuse for not drinking!) and getting on with things in the New Year. It all feels so precarious at the moment though. I hate not knowing what is going on in there!

shelbTa · 18/12/2015 14:10

Can you take paracetamol? This is a whole new world isn't it!!!

X

Morwenna1 · 18/12/2015 14:14

Here you go:

www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2397.aspx?CategoryID=54&#close

Should be safe.

You'll be looking at this site a lot!

Morwenna1 · 18/12/2015 14:15

And I refer back to to Ovia Pregnancy's Safe to eat checklist a lot. V. useful! It's on the menu on the rh side of the app.

BunchOfBobs · 18/12/2015 14:23

I've read you shouldn't take paracetamol for the first trimester. Confused Though lots of mixed messages as I got my flu jab the day before I found out was pregnant and midwife just said "that's good", no concern about it being in the first trimester. As if it wasn't confusing enough!!

Runner05 · 18/12/2015 15:44

Mor Yay! You found us.
Sucks that your Dr appointment was rubbish but you'll be having your booking in appointment in no time at all.

Shelb sucks that you're feeling sick. I find that I get nauseous unless I'm eating every couple of hours so maybe you just need to adjust your eating habits?
I bet you're desperate to tell your OH Smile you're so lucky to have caught first time!

Bunch I think a lot of the rules are actually a case of "err we don't know if it's safe or not so let just ban it to be on the safe side!" Hmm

Did all my Christmas food shopping today. and did not pick up some more FRER and a CB dating digi and as I was battling with the stupid heavy trolly I suddenly became terribly concerned that i shouldn't be exerting myself so much... And so the insanity begins Confused

Thanks ladies. My period pains are quite strong - are yours?

I'm so tempted to have a final V&T this evening, one for the road...

BunchOfBobs · 18/12/2015 16:11

Mine were the first week Shelb. They've mostly eased off now though. Just the odd twinges. I'm shattered today, I hope this isn't the tiredness kicking in and just a lack of sleep from a late arrival last night and early start for my shift. No working yet at least. I kept thinking I'd have my last drink and when we announced to parents I had a glass of bubbles poured for me. 1 sip is all I managed, just didn't want it. No aversion per say just had no want for it.

Newmrs22 · 18/12/2015 16:52

My period pains were quite bad last week. Eased off now. Apparently it's the ligaments stretching according to my pregnant friend I confessed to!

Runner05 · 18/12/2015 17:37

Shelb I wouldn't say I have period pains but my entire mis section feels like it's going to explode! And I keep getting period pain like cramps.

Are any of you so bloated already that you're thinking of buying clothes a size up? I just feel like a balloon already and going my trousers up is incredibly uncomfortable. My boobs are creeping up in size too Hmm

In terms of the flu jab it was explained to me that I could have it if I wanted it, but based on new guidelines, the nurse wasn't comfortable with giving it to me. She explained that giving pregnant women the jab in the 1st tri was purely based on people who'd had it and not realised they are pregnant. There aren't any conclusive studies (as it's unethical on pregnant women) to say whether it's safe or not for pregnant women in the 1st tri (she had no issue when I get to 12 weeks). And then she went on to say that if anything went wrong she'd want to know that it's down to natural causes and not anything she'd done (speaking personally). Hard to contest this if she's not recommending it! I'm happy to leave things as they are and then get it sorted later on. V confusing though!

I had period style cramps which have now eased off..extremely tired today!

BunchOfBobs · 18/12/2015 18:45

My bloating is horrific Runner and had been since my bfp. I look almost. 4 months pregnant and this evening I've got such painful trapped wind and an ache coccyx. What a glamorous life we lead.

Runner05 · 18/12/2015 18:52

Lol, well at least it isn't just me! I think I shall pop bloody phone keeps changing pop to PPP, what the heck is PPP? to the shop tomorrow and get some loser clothes.

shelbTa · 18/12/2015 19:16

Hmm, not getting pissed on a Friday night....this is new!

Agree with the bloating - I cannot suck my stomach in. My nips are massive!

Runner05 · 18/12/2015 19:19

I'm used to doing every other Friday piss-up but I usually have a cider at home... No more cider for 9 months Shock what have I done!!!!

shelbTa · 18/12/2015 22:08

I'm a nervous wreck! Just dyed (with peroxide in) my hair then googled and said you shouldn't do that during pregnancy as there is a risk with the peroxide! Should be ok as is detached from blood stream at such an early stage, isn't it?

It's a minefield!

X

Runner05 · 18/12/2015 22:38

Hi Shelb yes, I think you should be ok at this stage but you might have to live with dark roots for a few months going forward Wink

Already fed up of feeling dehydrated, getting a drink, immediately needing a wee, then feeling dehydrated again cycle Hmm

I'm wondering if when I have my dating scan they will date me as a week further on than I should be given that I ovulated really early. I might be wrong but every time I read stuff about what should be happening in my body at 3.2 I appear to be ahead by several days Confused

OP posts:
shelbTa · 18/12/2015 23:05

Totally! I'm really thirsty but sick of needing to piss!

Have you downloaded the ovia pregnancy app?

X

Runner05 · 18/12/2015 23:17

Yup Grin I've started adding notes about symptoms and photos of pissy sticks.

I've also started writing in my pregnancy journal. It doesn't start until week 9 but I've been filling in all the details about OH and I. Was umming and erring over whether to start it or not scared something will go wrong but I've decided I'm pregnant and I shall act like it!!!

OP posts:
Runner05 · 19/12/2015 00:28

Ah, and cue period type pains. Really wouldn't have minded skipping those Hmm

BunchOfBobs · 19/12/2015 03:57

PMA PMA but I do believe morning sickness may be kicking in. Early starts out here, woke up feeling "off". Just had fmw and the smell made me gag. It's just a normal wee smell but I could really smell it, it smelled warm if you get me- I know that's just my scent kicking in but I feel sick and I don't want to . I was really dreading this kicking in whilst away at work because it will be so hard to hide. I work in a 2x2.5m space with a single other person for 12 hours. They'll notice! I have no food aversion yet, just mentally going through a breakfast check list. But I'm thinking toast to be safe.

BunchOfBobs · 19/12/2015 06:31

Phew and it's gone again. Got a ginger shot off the chef- worked wonders!! Ginger is my saviour. Hope everyone is feeling fine this morning.

Newmrs22 · 19/12/2015 06:49

I couldn't sleep so I've been up for an hour. Which is weird because I've been exhausted this week!

I still have no sickness. Part of me is hoping I've skipped that stage (wishful thinking!?)

bunch hope the sickness stays away. That sounds horrendous if it kicks in in such a small space

shelbTa · 19/12/2015 09:21

Morning,

bunch that doesn't sound like fun. You are 5+weeks aren't you so it would be about right? Hang in there!

New I have that too, I woke up at three this morning and it's been like that all week.

Just waiting for oh to wake up to do the test, my bladder is bursting! Please let it still be positive, this is a big moment!!
