Well we were TTC but now we've graduated to growing a small human. Good buy peeing on opk's and ic's every day hello monitoring exactly how sick and bloated we feel and ensuring that we're never more than 30ft from a bathroom!

It's the TTC#1 graduates thread! Come and join us on a no holds barred exploration of first time pregnancy (but be really careful about opening any links about cervical fluid unless you have a very strong constitution... Let's face it you're pregnant so you don't)

I've got my initial Dr appointment on Wednesday but the midwife appointments for jan aren't available yet. I'm hoping I'll be able to arrange my booking in appointment at my dr appointment.

Hi all,

Def get to the doctors new my pregnant friend had a uti early on and took antibiotics, you don't want it to take hold.

Hi pink yey!! Has it sunk it yet.

Runner same - no midwife appointments for Jan yet.

I'm so irritable today! Also, can't believe how much water im drinking yet how little pee is coming out! Tmi, soz.

Food - did you know you have to limit the intake of tuna and salmon cos or Mercury! What next?

X

Pinklily1 · 21/12/2015 20:40

Hi Shelb!

It is sinking in but slowly! I'll be pottering along as normal and then I have a moment of realisation!

I've been googling food that we should and shouldn't eat and I think the biggest thing for me will be caffeine. I don't drink coffee but have about three cups of tea a day at work and more at the weekend.

I'm also worried about getting morning sickness - won't be easy to hide as I work in an open plan office.

How are your symptoms?

shelbTa · 21/12/2015 21:16

Yeah I work in open plan too, it's going to be really hard when the barfing kicks in.

I feel ok thanks, sickness has gone, sleeping a lot better. Tummy is sorry when I bend over, near my pubic bone, but that's it really. God - now I've said that I'm screwed!! Have you downloaded the upduffed ovia app? Good to have you over here, really pleased for you! Smile

Pinklily1 · 21/12/2015 22:06

Thank you, and likewise for you Smile So good to have so many bfp's this month! Hopefully some of the others will get to join us soon.

I've downloaded the Ovia upduffed app and had a good chuckle at some of the milestones, particularly 'unsolicited tummy rub' and 'can't see feet'!

Hoping the bloating will at least go down a bit soon. Feel like I need someone to stick a pin in my tummy to deflate me!

Runner05 · 21/12/2015 23:11

Hello ladies, so glad to have you over here Pink

I second the feeling you need to be deflated. After I've eaten sometimes I'm so bloated it actually makes my ribs ache.

You're lucky you're not peeing that much Shelb I was averaging every 20 minutes at work today!

Apart from the bloating I'm starting to feel kinda normal again now which is nice.

Does anyone know. When they say 9 months are they counting months as a 4 week period? Probably a bit of a stupid question but my brain no longer works properly Confused

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 07:08

Morning ladies, how are you today?

I woke up this morning and I'm not quite so bloated Grinhowever I also feel like I did about a hundred sit-ups yesterday.

I have a feeling I will be all but alone at work today so I've got a day of reading through maternity documents planned... Then I need to come home and clean. Surely I shouldn't have to when pregnant lol

Are any of you worrying about what you should and shouldn't be doing?
We finished the final food shop last night and while I was carrying bags of beer and potatoes in I started to wonder if I should be doing so much heavy lifting. I always have so I don't see why I should stop now but....

Can't wait for my dr appointment tomorrow. I have never said that sentence before in my life!

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 07:55

Morning ladies!

Runner - glad the bloating has gone down. Im keeping everything crossed that none of us gets too hideous morning sickness!

I have been worrying about what we should and shouldn't do. I'm of the view that I am pregnant not ill, so going to largely continue as normal, but I do worry about exercise. I go to gym classes a week and run, and I think I might have to drop or modify some of the classes. I really need to look into it as i'm sure I read that historic advice was your heart rate shouldn't get over a certain rate when exercising, but then I read something else contradicting that. I'm going to ask the doctor when I get an appointment sorted.

I'm a bit nervous about seeing the doctor. Not sure why, maybe it will make it more real! I did my Clear Blue digi this morning which has come up with 1-2 weeks, and Ovia upduffed app is saying I'm 3+4, so thats not far behind you is it?

Hope everyone else is well!

shelbTa · 22/12/2015 08:18

Morning ladies,

I'm the same pink about exercise. I run about once a week so not a major runner but I would like to do it to keep the pounds at bay! But like you not sure. Also I wouldn't mind doing some crunches, I've been looking online for what you can and can't do.

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 08:26

Hi ladies, I think the advice is that in early pregnancy you can continue exercising as you normally would but don't exercise to the point of exhaustion. So by all means run but don't run until you're panting for breath. And don't start any new exercise that you haven't previously done.

Pink I'm 3+6 so nearly the same Grin

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 08:34

I'd love to keep running too Shelb. I don't feel like 'me' without running thin I am a bit odd

I've managed to get a doctors appointment for today so will let you know what they say/do at the first appointment.

shelbTa · 22/12/2015 09:03

Tmi alert but - is anyone else getting a LOT of cm??

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 09:04

Thanks Pink

So I now have absolutely no symptoms. Feels a bit weird to be symptom free. This may however be the calm before the storm though as I ovulated a bit on the early side so I think I'm a couple of days ahead of normal. Confused

OP posts:
Runner05 · 22/12/2015 09:05

Shelb I haven't had my cm at all but apparently lots of cm is fairly normal.

OP posts:
BlueGirl1982 · 22/12/2015 09:16

Shelb I've had quite a lot of cm, to the point I had a mild panic yesterday morning...I've become a frequent knicker checker Blush

I'm fairly symptom free, no sore boobs yet, cramping has settled mostly, very thirsty still though...really hoping sickness doesn't kick in next week (6 weeks) but in a weird way I want it to, as it feels at the moment like I'm imagining everything Confused

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 09:19

Lol, Blue I totally know the feeling regarding thinking you imagined it all. I'm tempted to do my last dating test tomorrow just to check!

OP posts:
Runner05 · 22/12/2015 10:48

Feeling terribly impatient today. I really want to have my booking in appointment and 12 week scan and tell work (officially) it's kinda annoying that OH has don't this twice before as he already knows all this stuff but I like to be able to tell him things lol.

4 weeks on Christmas Eve so I know it's only a month until booking in and 2 until 12 week scan but I want it to be now!!!

I think it's because I haven't really had any symptoms to occupy my mind today. It feels less certain when you don't feel terrible lol

OP posts:
Runner05 · 22/12/2015 10:50

Oh and OH response to all this?

"It wasn't that long ago that it was two months to StarWars and that went quickly enough" Hmm

OP posts:
BlueGirl1982 · 22/12/2015 11:03

Hilarious runner...hope you gave him a pregnant lady death stare Smile

I've just left a message for the midwives, want them to call back and book me in now!! GP said they like to do the booking in appointment between 7&10 weeks, so I've still got at least two weeks to wait!! Hoping Christmas will distract me for a couple of days because the waiting and not knowing is killing me!!

BunchOfBobs · 22/12/2015 11:13

Hi all. Sorry one been swop, working 12 hour shifts and now there's def no issues with me not shitting. Hmm think I ate something dodge as both my e and my colleague have been ill. I'm the same Runnrr, bloat not so painful but def feel like I did a day of ab workouts yesterday.

HUGE congrats Pink! Welcome to the dark side! I'm carrying on as normal with the gym and lifting etc. I think I'm suffering slightly with morning sickness as every morning I can barely eat breakfast and the nausea fades by 10-11ish. My tits are still killing me.

I've got DH on the case of trying to book in an early scan before new year, we fingers crossed there la availability.

BunchOfBobs · 22/12/2015 11:13

One been swop? *I've been awol!!

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 11:35

Thanks Bunch! Hope your food related illness passes soon. How much longer do you have to be away with work?

I've just been to the doctors. Basically I have to go to a drop in antenatal thing to meet the midwife in January and then the midwife phones to sort the booking appointment. The doctor said booking appointments here are usually done between 8-10 weeks.

I asked about exercise and she said as long as you are active before getting upduffed you can carry on with exercising as normal until whenever the bump gets so big that it becomes uncomfortable. The only thing she advised against was horse riding due to the risk of falling, but I'm not a horsey person anyway so that's fine!

Pleased to have been to doctors but not sure how I'm going to manage to wait from now until scans etc!

Runner, your OH's Star Wars comment is priceless! Such a man thing to say! My OH has been revelling in the abilities of his 'super sperm' Smile I think we are all in for a long 9 months....!

BunchOfBobs · 22/12/2015 11:41

I go home tomorrow Pink. Yipeee! Christmas at home woop! Well I've managed to keep lunch inside so fingers crossed that's me on the mend.

BunchOfBobs · 22/12/2015 13:00

Eek I've got my early scan booked for the 30th. I'll be 7+5 so hopefully won't need the dildocam!

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 13:39

The dildo what now?! Do they put something up your foof in the scan usually?! I was not prepared for that information Smile

So exciting that you have the early scan booked though Bunch and that you get to one home for Christmas!
